Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

I'm waiting patiently to start my 30 day shred. I was about to start it earlier but DH phoned and asked me to collect him from work. I told him I was about to start my 20 minutes exercise and he said if I collect him, he will disappear upstairs for 20 minutes so I could still do it.
Yeah right, that went out the window when he got in Angry He has been hogging the TV all night, he has even got DC massaging his feet. In the meantime, I've done some ironing and washed up and am now sitting here melting.
I think he should walk home from work next time Grin

Hedgepig · 03/08/2011 22:09

Get him a bike kid it will do him the world of good Grin

timidviper · 03/08/2011 22:15

I went to SW tonight and lost 1.5lb. Sounds daft but I feel irrationally disappointed! I have had some problems with my jaw this last week so have probably eaten less than usual (hence expecting to lose more), sadly it's been the fruit and veg I've eaten less of which probably explains it.

Have now lost 1st 5lb though which is good :)

Hedgepig · 03/08/2011 22:16

well done Timidviper a loss is a loss Grin

Riasdragonflytattoo · 03/08/2011 22:50

well done you losers Grin and well done you STS-ers Smile and well done to us gainers too, for 'fessing up and having it posted and not running away to the Ben and Jerry's never to returnWink

here's to a good weekSmile

grinningbee · 04/08/2011 06:57

I'll second that well done to the gainers - at least you put it on the list, as Ria said. And Cheese it isn't lame - you have lost and kept off 11lb for 3 months! That's good, isn't it? Although you need to check the maths - by my reckoning with your stats you've lost 13lb.... Wink

I have a nasty feeling my scales are wrong. Health visitor weighed dd yesterday, and made her 3lb heavier than my scales do. Still, I will have lost the same amount, but the current weight (and starting one) may be off a bit. Bugger Sad. Never mind, I shall still use them for now.

Feeling a bit glum today. Dh left for work half an hour ago, and he sometimes goes earlier, and often doesn't get home till after 6, and nearly 7. So I have to sort out both dc for everything all of the time, and ds was up for the day at 5.15. I'm just tired I s'pose. He could leave later/get home earlier if he wanted to - he's self employed. Ah well. Sorry for the moan.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Beans on toast, an apple and a yogurt
Shepherd's Lentil Pie (ended up having the SW fryup last night instead of this)

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/08/2011 08:16

Thanks ria and bee. I don't have the willpower to miss a week as I might not return. You are right, that's 13lbsGrin.

Had an awful night with I. Think I've had 3 hours sleep. She's now awake and happy as larry! However, we will have to miss gym/Creche today as I can't really take her if she's had a temp in last day Sad

Food looks like:
B: weetabix
L: beams on toast
D: lamb rogan Josh and veg

Well done to all the losers and maintainers!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/08/2011 08:17

bee you do sound tired it's not long till the weekend, can your DH help out then?

grinningbee · 04/08/2011 08:32

Cheese if we lived closer we could prop each other up and have the perculator going Grin. Sorry you had a bad night.

He'll help in his special way, but it's mostly down to me. Never mind!

Does anyone elses dh come in from work, play on the computer till dinner time, eat, then fall asleep until you wake them to go to bed?

Moan over Grin

P.S Beams on toast? Mmmmmm lots of fibre Wink

Riasdragonflytattoo · 04/08/2011 08:38

IKWYM bee. Took me an hour and a half last night to get DS3 to sleep (even though he is 4 he and DS2 are a nightmare at bedtime), and DH (who has only just started having 2 nights off a week, and quite frequently got a phonecall to work on his one night off, for nearly the last 2 years) sat quite hapily watching TV. He has just got up to see what time my GP appt is, and as it's not 'til 9 he's gone back to bedHmm. I know he works hard, but I get the boys 24/7, more often than not without his input, and I'm knackered too. Sorry for rantBlush

food for today:
breakfast - fruit salad, maybe yogurt
lunch - SW fry up or tuna salad
tea - spag bol and salad, or steak, SW chips and veg.
HEB will be bread or alpen light bars.
may well syn an options hot chocolate later.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 04/08/2011 08:42

LOL X-post there bee. DH even managed to log onto the computer on Tuesday morning when he was being arsey because we had to leave the house at 9am, the kids weren't dressed and the picnic wasn't made (huess whose jobs those are?) Thank goodness he's stopped playing farmville!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/08/2011 09:13

Beams on toast - oh crumbs! Yum yum.

I am feeling sorry for myself today. DD is so clingy. She needs to be rocked to sleep at the moment which takes about 40min to settle her. I really don't mind because she is poorly. But then the min I put her down, she wakes and we have to go through the same thing again. She is finally asleep now. Having done this all day yesterday and all night long I am now exhausted! And the thought of doing this all night long for the next 5 days horrifies me. Poor DH has a job interview today for something he really really wants to do with the olympics and he was kept awake all night. Then from tomorrow he is working 5 late shifts then 2 days off then 4 night shifts. I have no one around to help out, my mum can't come as she has a personal training session on saturday Hmm and all my friends don't have kids so are having fun in the south of france!

Ok, whinge over.

bee no my DH doesn't do that. He is a shift worker so is in and out at all times of the day. He does have a tendancy to come home, sink on the sofa and change the channel to the simpsons. But he does help out when he can and I know he left feeling guilty today that he couldn't help more. Maybe you need to just leave on Saturday for a day shopping or something and leave him with the kids!

Ria sounds like you have had a hard night too, come and join our coffee morning. Shall I bring scanbran cake? Send your boys in to wake your DH....

BonzoDooDah · 04/08/2011 10:23

Hi all - I gained half a pound this week. Disappointed but that just goes to show you can't eat family bags of crisps and still lose weight. :(
Current loss is 1 st 6 lb.

What's STS?

Well done on your losses everyone. It is an impressive list!

kid · 04/08/2011 10:32

Sts = stayed the same

I slept in until 9 this morning! When I got up, dc had fed themselves and dh had made me a cup of tea.
I'm still laying on the settee feeling tired.
Dh is off work today and I reckon he is itching to go out somewhere. I was out all day yesterday (including 3 hours of driving) so I'm more than happy to stay in today.

So far today, I've had 2 weetabix and tea. I want to start shred but tv and laptop are in use. Oh well, maybe i'll get to start it one day.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/08/2011 11:16

Aah half a pound isn't too bad bonzo you can lose that by having a pooSmile
kid very jealous of your lie in!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 04/08/2011 12:21

Envy kid, though have to confess that since I got back from the GP and DH went to work, I've had a half-snooze (teenagers have their usesWink). DS1 and DS3 are now watching a bizarre cartoon that seems to be about an evil penguin and a mad scientist???? Have never seen it before. DS2 is playing out with his friend.
Now I'm upright I suppose I ought to start tidying the house, which has gone from immaculate when we got back from hols on Saturday, to some kind of explosion (not helped by DH huffily "cleaning out the car" - i.e, putting the crap out of the car into carrier bags and dumping it in the house. )

back on citalopram...

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/08/2011 14:28

I have also had a snooze. DD and I got into bed together and had a doze, very cosy. Ria I am also about to do some tidying. The house is a bombshell full of washing etc from our hol. Got the most enormous pile of ironing to do but might just save it till tonight and do it with a glass of wine! Hope the citalopram helps.

kid have you shredded yet? How long is a shred if that is the correct terminology?!

kid · 04/08/2011 15:17

I have completed level 1 day 1 of shred and OMG! It was very hard even though none of the moves were new to me. It is very similar to my bootcamp class (that I haven't been to for 2 weeks)
I think its the combination of the moves they do and the fact that there is no break/recover time between the exercises.

Each session lasts for 20 minutes which isn't long really but it felt long lol
Even the warm up had got my heart beating fast. You do a mixture of cardio like jumping jacks, weights and abs. It was soooooo hard and my legs were like jelly afterwards and the sweat, wow!

You are meant to use weights for some parts but DS borrowed mine and now they are somewhere in his bedroom. I did the moves without the weights and my arms were killing me Grin

I will do the 2nd day tomorrow either way but reckon I'll be aching in the morning.

My house is a huge tip, the kitchen was spotless yesterday, I don't know how it happens. Its looking a bit better already but it still needs sorting out. I am not in the mood to do it right now though as I have just done 2 lots of washing and hung one lot up.

I have to go and collect DD from her friends house in 1/2 hour, maybe I can pay her to tidy up for me? My kids love earning money, its great.

SlinkyB · 04/08/2011 16:00

Well done all you losers, and hope you had a nice break bonzo

Erm, I wasn't sure whether to 'fess up or not but my conscience got the better of me; cheese , you've added an extra 3/4lb onto my total loss! I started at 12st 11 1/4, so have lost 9 3/4lbs in total, but I don't mind Wink

My maths is awful even when I don't have a poorly/crying baby or sleep deprivation though, so you still did well!

Good luck with the 30 Day Shred kid - I'm on day 17 now, although not consecutive or think I would actually be dead by now...

SlinkyB · 04/08/2011 16:03

P.S Went to a family birthday party today and didn't have a single piece of yummy looking chocolate cake; ds was keeping me busy thank goodness....had a packet of Quavers when I got home to 'reward' myself Blush but hoping to work it off at Zumba later.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/08/2011 16:21

Are you enjoying zumba slinky? I love it. Have missed it this week, will go on Sunday! Sorry for adding it up wrong, I was in a rush. Maybe if people pm me all their stats so I don't have to keep track and it'll make the list quicker?! Enjoy zumba later.

Well done kid on shredding! Sounds bladdy hard! I have been a right lazy lump today but I have had DD permanently attached to me!

kid · 04/08/2011 17:23

I'm going on holiday in 10 days so figured if I could keep shredding until I go, the damage will be less while I am away?

cheese think of having to carry DD around all day, her extra weight must be like a workout so its fine. Just hope she settles well for you at bedtime.

Well done slinky, day 17 is impressive even if its not every day. I wouldn't be doing it every day if I wasn't going on holiday shortly.
DH is back at work tomorrow and he is working all weekend so I will have control of the tv. I am going to do it on my laptop though as I have sound on that. Should really get the xbox and sound working but it doesn't really bother me as I hardly play it nowadays.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 04/08/2011 18:35

I may have to buy the Shred DVD. It will of course make me thinner by sitting in it's cellophane in the cupboard won't it?Wink

feeling a bit pants. DH is handing in his notice this evening. Long story (which you won't escape , I just have the boys in the bath and they are dying to visit my parents before bed, so I don't have time to whinge on and on...)

kid · 04/08/2011 20:32

Come back and whinge later if it will make you feel a bit better.
If you do decide to buy shred, cheapest place I found it was at amazon for £5.99 with free p&p.

johnworf · 04/08/2011 23:01

Hi ladies.

Sorry I have been AWOL Blush

Week after my hols I gained 3.5lbs. Devastated but not totally unexpected Hmm Anyhoo, I've lost the 3.5lbs this week so it's kinda cancelled it out but I've stayed the same.

I've finally found the quark cheesecake recipe and shall post on the recipe thread if anyone is interested. Methinks it's syn free (or was that desperately hoping?) Wink
