Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

Only a years worth of housework obrigada , we have about 8 yrs here. I'm planning an extension so we can move out of the messy bit of the house into the new bit Grin
I'm having a night off, so far we have had chicken satay, crisp duck and the mains are on their way. I think you need to keep confusing your body that its not on a diet Grin

grinningbee · 30/07/2011 07:54

Ooooh Hedgepig that food sounded lovely. Hope you enjoyed it!

Housework... that is not a holiday. I need to tackle our bedroom as it is starting to get mould growing on the walls near the ceiling Sad this house is so prone to it, it's awful. Trying to do it with the dc around when balancing on a chair isn't fun!

Food for the day:

Weetabix
Um, toast I would imagine
Leftover sweet chilli chicken and a big heap of roasted veg

Going for a walk around a big park today, so hopefully the weather will stay nice.

Ta ta for now Grin

I'm back and fatter than ever! Grin

Will post properly tomorrow, got a mountain of things to sort out!

SlinkyB · 30/07/2011 21:37

Is it bad that I'm actually quite glad you lot aren't being saintly this weekend? All this talk of Chinese and Burger King makes me feel better about the pasty and cheesecake I had at my sister's today... She's somewhat of a feeder and stated "you're not on a diet today" when I arrived this morning (all size 10 of her).

Given I have no willpower faced with a table full of home-made delights at a family do, I now feel like I've really let myself down and may aswell binge all night :(

Hope you had a lovely time Cheese ... welcome back!

kid · 30/07/2011 21:56

I've gone completely off track this week!
I will be at the gym tomorrow but only a miracle will undo all the crap I've been eating this week!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 30/07/2011 22:40

hi. back from holsSmile WI should be tomorrow but might leave it til official DOD". Hope you are all well.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 30/07/2011 23:21

think I will have "I tried, honest" on my gravestone...

am glad you haven't been too chatty this week, I was dreading catching up on the thread and not having time (have failed spectacularly with my OU submission this month -due to ADs and related issues/stuffSad- so somehow this thread seemed more important!)

started SO well - fruit platter for breakfast, sandwich lunch, EE meal at night. Then I had an ice cream from here followed swiftly by an unfortunate reaction to the full-fattedness... cue DM hassling me about the amount of fruit I was eating - in addition to how crap I felt anyway. Breakfast became mini-pack cereal and toast...
then last night we had fish and chips (I shared a "mini portion" with DS3. Similar reaction - who needs orlistat?WinkBlush and tonight we had McD's courtesy of DFBlush. Small moment of triumph last night though - peanuts/bombay mix and DM couldn't stop snackingGrin she is irritatingly self-controlled normally!)
I did swim one day, and walked 3+ miles another, but DSis was being anti-walking, so we didn't walk nearly as much (i.e, Ingleborough at least) as I'd hoped. Next time...
It is my first night with DH for a week though, somehow this equals wineBlush
tomorrow will be spent menu/shopping list planning for Monday.
Well done on all the losses, Envy on the chicken satay.

kid · 31/07/2011 09:38

I'm ill Sad Sad Sad
I was pretty miserable/irritable last night so took myself to bed at 9pm to read a book.
Tossed and turned all night and work this morning with a sore throat. It's not just any sore throat, my whole neck feels swollen and still.

I really wanted to go gym this morning but I know that would be stupid so I've decided to stay home instead. I'm glad I'm not at work as I really couldn't go even if I wanted to.
I hate being ill!

LakeFlyPie · 31/07/2011 10:05

Morning Smile

Welcome home Cheese and Ria, hope you both had lovely hols.

Hope you're feeling better v soon kid

Bee I'm in awe of your steady determined progress. Do you have any snacks or just stick to your 3 meals?
Hope your mould tackling was successful.

Food:
BF: Peach, pineapple and FF yog +hobbit toast + jam
L: Cous cous salad
D: JP (with either cheese + beans or cottage cheese + salad)

BTW does anyone know the syn values for Aldi virtually FF fruit yogs and fromage frais?

grinningbee · 31/07/2011 10:12

Welcome back Cheese and Ria Smile Hope you both enjoyed the holidays. Ria I always have the same reaction as well when I've not been eating fat. It isn't pleasant, is it Sad

And Kid sorry you are feeling ill. I prescribe a duvet day. I lurve cheesecake Slinky I'd have eaten it too.

Off to a bbq at my dad's today. I shall be a good Bee and eat salad and chicken, and avoid sausages etc. And no pudding either Sad

So the food for today:

Weetabix
Bbq
Who knows. Depends what we eat and how hungry we are tonight!

That's very decisive, isn't it Grin

OP posts:
grinningbee · 31/07/2011 10:19

Morning Lake the mould is still there. We went to the park instead Grin I'll get it, don't worry.

Me, determined?? I suppose I am a bit. I don't snack, but I do have fruit and yogurt at lunchtime to help fill me up, and if my tum is rumbling before dinner I might have a bit of fruit. Other than that I have the dc to distract me Wink

I changed the jeans I bought the other day for proper length ones. They fit perfectly. I stood in the changing room and had a little victory dance (don't ask!!) for getting into an 18 GrinGrin. I'm going to wear them today. The folks that will be st the bbq haven't seen me for two months - I shall report back if anyone notices or not...

OP posts:
Riasdragonflytattoo · 31/07/2011 10:40

yay bee Smile

hope you feel better soon kid.

pants WI, not fair after all the fish and chip/ice cream suffering. Am taking the day off everything today (SW, OU work, all housework except loading the washing machine, etc) and am going to read my mags and PLAN PLAN PLAN! 2 weeks totally off the booze too as DH is having another shoulder operation on the 16th so a bit of self-care won't do him any harm. (Was maybe a bit stupid buying him 6 bottles of fancy real ale from Booths for his birthday then wasn't it?)

have a lovely Sunday everyone Smile

kid · 31/07/2011 10:50

Thanks for all the get well messages, if I took some tablets I might feel a bit better, but that involves getting off the settee and getting them!

I hope people notice your weight loss bee, if they don't, tamper with their chair so it breaks when they sit on it. Then they will think they need to lose weight! Grin
Ok, I think I've spent too much time doing nothing today, maybe I should get dressed and do something/go somewhere!

SlinkyB · 31/07/2011 19:13

Well bee, did anyone notice or say anything complimentary at the bbq? If they're anything like my friends and family they wouldn't notice at all. Apparently I "carry it well" which I'm not sure whether to take as a compliment...

Woke up in a better mood today, was all tired and grumpy and defeatest last night so had an early night. Have just made an enormous chilli, so am more determined to have a good week. DoD for me in the morning so hoping to see a loss, however small, after last week's STS.

How's the throat now kid? Hope you've managed to rest (wishful thinking)

kid · 31/07/2011 19:35

Throat is a bit better thanks slinky but I'm guessing it's masked by the painkillers I've been taking all day. I am in such a bad mood though, probably because I had to scrub the dump aka the kitchen. I don't understand why no-one else can do it!

Ds wanted to play out earlier but I was reluctant as those troublesome kids were out. I let ds out but I watched from the window (out of sight). The second I saw one of the rats go bear him, I went straight out. I took my huge doggy with me and strangely enough, they all scarpered when they saw me coming!
Ds was being a pest outside so I can't see him spending much time out there over the summer Sad I certainly don't intend to spend hours out there watching him!
It will hopefully be our last visit to the hospital about him hand tomorrow. If all goes to plan, they will discharge him.

grinningbee · 31/07/2011 19:42

Just very quickly as doing the bedtime routine and cooking tea...

Not one person noticed. How do you not notice a 2 stone loss?????

Angry

And there were two cheesecakes for pud and I didn't have any.

Gits.

Back later.

OP posts:
pixiestix · 31/07/2011 21:01

Gaaah Bee, its so frustrating isn?t it? Angry I had exactly the same experience a couple of weeks ago (about a page back!) and although I?m not losing weight for the praise and adulation a little bit of it wouldn?t go amiss! Grin

Hope you are feeling a bit better Kid.

Hola Cheese! Are you all sun-kissed and gorgeous? Grin

kid · 31/07/2011 21:08

How annoying bee, personally, I reckon they did notice but were to jealous to say anything (tell yourself that to make you feel better!)

I've lost 1 1/2 stone and only 2 people have noticed (DH and someone at work) I'm losing weight for myself but it would be nice for people to notice my hard work.

I didn't have dinner tonight, couldn't be bothered to cook anything plus I wasn't feeling great. So, I had a cup of tea and 4 biscuits instead. Naughty I know, but yummy Grin

Riasdragonflytattoo · 31/07/2011 22:31

maybe they noticed but didn't know how to say it bee? well done on avoiding cheesecake.

so much for my day off! Have cut the lawns, weeded the front garden and tidied it up, washed the front windows inside and out, and finally got round to ironing my new curtains and putting them up. I'm knackered. I was snoozing on the sofa when DH got in from work. He was late (I have yet to listen to why - think he is annoyed), but am maybe secretly a bit thankful that he was too late for us to take the boys to muck out and ride.

new start tomorrow...

kid · 31/07/2011 22:59

I've just ordered myself a copy of 30 day shred. Does anyone else have this?
I haven't even been able to view a sample of it online, I think i messed up my laptop again but at least I can do most things on it.

grinningbee · 01/08/2011 07:11

Ria that is far too energetic for a day off!

I wasn't hoping for people to fall at my feet yesterday and ask how I'd done it, but just a single comment would have been nice. It was a strange afternoon anyway. Family, eh?

Dd was far too overtired, so we had the bedtime from hell. Much screaming and crying and headbanging on the cot rail (her, not dh and me). It took over 2 hours to get her to sleep.

She is still asleep at the mo, but ds woke up at 4.40, and has been awake ever since.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast, apple and a yogurt
Pork meatballs and a load of broccoli

Dod here tomorrow, but I can't get excited for some reason. I am hoping that the car will not let me down today. It is starting to sound like a tractor (exhaust has split). Dh (car mechnic) says it may or may not snap if I drive it, but I have lots to do today. So if you hear a very very loud car/tractor, it'll be me!

N.B Typical ain't it - married to a car fixy guy and the earliest he can fix ours is the end of the week....

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 01/08/2011 07:41

Good morning!

Sounds like a tough night bee. funny about your DH, hope car is ok. I am Angry that your fam didn't notice 2st loss! Unbelievable

kid I don't shred but people rave about it!

Back on the diet today having blown it in Spain with cheese, bread and wineGrin. Can't decide about weighing in on weds, might be too depressing.
Food for today;
B: fruit, ff yog and branflakes (heb)
L: jacket pot tuna and salad
D: fish pie and green veggies
Exercise: 45min walk and hopefully gym if dh gets home from work at a decent time!

Right, what else have I missed...

SlinkyB · 01/08/2011 09:19

kid I started the 30 Day Shred a few weeksago - it's really good! It's basically 20 mins of circuits a day, you do 10 days of L1, 10 days L2 etc I must admit I'm struggling somewhat with L2 (too many plank/burpees type moves for my liking and fitness level). Reverted back to L1 yesterday as was actually starting to enjoy it, which is nothing short of miraculous. Have really noticed a difference in my fitness and shape, so will carry on; good luck with it!

SlinkyB · 01/08/2011 09:23

P.S Seems praying to the weighing-scales God last night worked, am very Grin this morning!

Riasdragonflytattoo · 01/08/2011 10:36

IKWYM about your DH bee, I am married to a chef. Can't remember the last time he cooked at home...Hmm

think I overdid it yesterday, very tired and achey, and taking a while to get moving today. Bacon sandwich consumedBlush

well done on the scales slinkyGrin
