Hi all!

Hope the title is ok - if not, someone else can do another one Grin

My ds is almost 6 months and I'm already looking at him sitting up and trying to crawl and thinking "where's my BABY gone?!".

Did a silly thing yesterday and did a big food shop whilst hungry. I'm sure the store was pumping out that freshly-baked bread smell on over-drive, and that there were cakes, sweets and biscuits at the end of every single aisle! Needless to say, I succumbed and scoffed a bag of fizzy cola bottles on the way home Blush

On the positive side, I dragged my wobbly bits to zumba last night and thoroughly enjoyed attempting to do a "Beyonce"...hoping I managed to burn a few calories.

Have great holidays all you lot off soon (we've had ours already so am most envious).

grinningbee · 22/07/2011 14:32

Slinky Never never never go shopping when hungry!! Yeah, I've done it too Grin And the bakery section always used to get me. Speaking of which, just off to the shop now to get dd some croissants and have a pootle around.

Happy holidays to Cheese and Ria, hope you have good ones, and please remember to come back again Smile

Been doing this 7 weeks now (I think). Gosh I miss naughty food. I know I could have it, but if I start it'll be game over. Better to go without.

Must dash - dd has just filled her nappy. I went to check it and she said "no Mummy, it's too dangerous" GrinGrin Pmsl

Why is it they poo just before you go out? Hmm

Hello

Been AWOL this week - didn't get to my first meeting and then decided the plan was too restrictive, difficult cooking for family etc, rebelled against horrid fat free everything and having to measure the days allowance of milk etc.

Thought I would do calorie counting - it didn't happen.

I am definitely going to the meeting on Monday, since I have had to buy a new pair of jeans meaning I have slipped finally from a 16/18 to just a plain old, fullsized 18.

The thing is, while I was following the plan I felt better. I felt organized and it felt doable. It started not feeling doable when I began to slip off plan. Of course.

I'm going out to do W1D1 of C25K tonight and have got Zumba for the PS3 which I am looking forward to.

Oh, and it didn't help that on seeing this DS asked in the way that only a four year old can, "Is that you Mummy? It's a bit like you" Well, out of the mouths of babes and sucklings, eh?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 22/07/2011 18:58

oh dear strawberry glad you are back!

bee to quote Arnie " I will be back"

Over and out!

grinningbee · 23/07/2011 10:05

Morning all!

Hope the list doesn't go all quiet now. I have my first challenge since starting - a bbq later. Shouldn't be too bad though if I stick to chicken if they do it. We are also going out for dinner with MIL tomorrow, but the Sunday dinner minus gravy and spuds should be fine. Well, maybe a little gravy... Grin

So, food for the day:

Weetabix
Cheese triangles on toast
BBQ - If I don't eat anything then it will be left over curry from last night
Fruit and yogurt for snacks

OP posts:
pixiestix · 23/07/2011 10:49

I'm still here Bee! Although I'm not much inspiration to anyone at the moment. DH doesn't get paid until Monday and my SMP has stopped now so I will be mostly eating toast this weekend Hmm Teeny toast though, so all is not lost!

Mmm, bbq and sunday roast. Its like food porn! Grin I'm a sucker for a good yorkshire pudding or a hot dog so I would be done for. Your theory that having nothing bad is easier than cheating a bit is so true - as soon as I caved, after about six weeks of total purity the old habits began to creep up on me again.

That said I had a cheeky weigh this morning and the scales have definitely gone down a smidge, so I think I have cancelled last weekends badness.

LakeFlyPie · 23/07/2011 16:28

Afternoon all Smile

Trying hard here but not writing it down which I may have to do if I don't see a decent loss this week, have been estimating weight of cereal and guessing some syns which is a bit dangerous.

BF: FF yog with chopped strawberries and peach
L: Corn on cob
D: Roast chicken with roasted veg
Snacks: Fruit and yogurt

Still struggling to get my head around EE, if I've had the corn for lunch can I have loads a decent amount of chicken and veg (including spuds) for dinner?

Have made a big pan of broccoli soup but not sure how it stands up syn wise, can anyone hazard a guess?
(it's made with an onion sauteed in Fry Shite, couple of diced potatoes, loads of broccoli and marigold stock).

Bee hope you enjoy your BBQ.

Good to see you're back on a losing streak pixie

kid · 23/07/2011 17:26

I'm still here, well only while my computer lets me as its being a bit tempremental at the moment, I blame DS and the games he keeps downloading to it.

Sw isn't going well for me today. We went out holiday clothes shopping and I got loads of lovely clothes, I hope they fit! I got a range of sizes, from 12s to 16s. I'll try them on at some point.

We had KFC for lunch, it was so yummy and totally worth it but now I need to be good for dinner. I'm at the gym tomorrow morning so that will help ease the guilt of stuffing my face today.
Technically, I'm on holiday from work for 6 weeks now, but I'm doing 5 days over time next week so that will stop me stuffing my face. Lets hope I can find something to keep my mind off food for the other 5 weeks. Actually, make that 3 weeks as for 2 of them I'll be abroad and will be eating and drinking more than usual.

Hedgepig · 23/07/2011 20:59

Evening all hope you are all well.

lake on EE you could have roast chicken for tea and lunch if you fancied it, all lean meat is free not a healthy extra.

I started the day well but we went out for dinner with the kids so I went into flexible Syn mode Grin but it was nice and both boys were in a good mood so well worth the syns. I didn't gave an alcoholic drunk which was good, but I just realised the Sprite was full of sugar ...bugger!

B. Shredded wheat and strawbs. Melon and a fat free activia (thanks to whoever said they were nicer than mullerlughts lights, they are)
L. Pasta and chickpea salad
D. Mexican thingy and pudding Nom Nom Nom

grinningbee · 24/07/2011 09:49

Morning!

Well, the bbq. What a joke! It was at our old local pub, and they didn't make any effort. There was a bowl of chopped onion to accompany either a hotdog, burger or sausage and you could have deep fried chips. Nothing else. No salad, nothing. And they were mega expensive!! Needless to say we had nothing. Good job I had the leftover curry in the fridge from the night before. Dd also cried the moment the live band started warming up, so I ended up taking her outside.

So the food for today will be:

Weetabix and a banana
Out for lunch with MIL - will probably have chicken and bacon salad. How exciting.
Leftover quorn bolognese

I've committed the sin of weighing before Dod again. I NEED the scales to stay the same or show lower on Tuesday, and I will be one very happy Bee Grin

Right. Better go. Ds has fallen asleep face down on the rug. Bless Smile

Hi all, does anyone else really struggle to stick to plan on the weekends?! I can stay fairly motivated and be reasonably good during the week, but come the weekend all my willpower disappears out the window. I know you can have 'flexible sins' but I take the piss and with only a stone to lose, I know I've got to be good more than five days a week :(

Oooh, KFC, yum! And boo to the rubbish bbq, how very disappointing. Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday and have enjoyed the sun :)

kid · 24/07/2011 20:18

I've been doing SW for about 11 weeks and in that time I haven't had any wine, until today! I've had 2 glasses which I added some diet lemonade too so it wans't too bad. I aslo went cardio combat for 45 minutes this morning so that should help cancel out some syns?!
I think I may have been over doing it today at the class as I almost passed out a couple of times. I went very pale and felt so dizzy. I'd had a couple of alpen light bars for breakfast and had water to drink while at the gym. It was really horrible and a bit scary. I have a history of passing out as I suffer form low blood pressure. I think that perhaps the alpen light bars weren't a sufficient breakfast for that amount of exercise.

SlinkyB · 24/07/2011 22:26

kid Am thinking maybe it wasn't such a good idea for you to have two glasses of wine before exercise?! Wink

Seriously though, you really do need something substantial beforehand by the sounds of things. I'm doing the 30 Day Shred and get a little giddy if I haven't eaten first. Well done on no wine for 11 weeks too - amazing!

grinningbee · 25/07/2011 08:20

Kid you need to eat more than that before the exercise. No wonder you were giddy. The wine pre diet was my downfall too. Hats off to you for avoiding it for 11 weeks. I've had it twice in 8 weeks, but won't be having it very often. Mind you, half a bottle of red is only 13 syns... Grin

The weekends haven't got to me yet, but it isn't easy I'll admit. Went for dinner yesterday with MIL and while dh had chicken smothered in cheese and bbq sauce, onion rings and chips etc I sat and had a very virtuous chicken and bacon salad. It was nice actually, but I wanted what he had Envy

In other news (TMI alert - do not read if you're eating!) my periods are back. Omg are they back. Got up this morning with that familiar feeling, but dh was in the loo and I had to wait... I ended up cleaning the floor as it ran down my legs before I could do anything. Major floodage SadBlush Yes, it was that bad!

Anyway. Enough yuckiness. Food for the day (despite craving chocolate and stodge):

Weetabix and a nectarine
Cheese triangles on toast and an apple
SW fryup - sausages, bacon, eggs and tinned tomatoes

Fruit and yogurt for snacks

OP posts:
LakeFlyPie · 25/07/2011 09:25

Thanks for the EE advice Hedgepig, think I may have done the EE day.
I take milk in coffee so it seems a bit restrictive with only 1 HE A + B.
Must try not to be resistant to change and give another EE day a go!.

Slinky I find weekends more difficult, especially if we go out.
Sometimes helps if I take fruit in my bag to munch if I feel hunger pangs.

Bee Sad for return of period, it's like the reprieve is over isn't it. Mine came back bang on 6 months with both DC despite them being very greedy ebf late weaners (that makes them sound a bit like pigs!)

kid does sound like you went a bit hypo, how about fruit before exercise for a bit more sugar. Bananas are good. You do a huge amount of exercise, you must be very toned and strong Envy

Food today (with extra hard effort to not let sneaky syns in, especially with evening munchies) I vow to have an much needed early night instead:

BF: All bran + banana + sk milk
L: Cottage cheese + salad
D: Leftover roast chicken and roasted veg + cous cous
Snacks: Fruit + yogurt

pixiestix · 25/07/2011 11:12

Bee - Mmm, chicken with bbq sauce and cheese, I would have been Envy too no matter how nice my meal was! I get dessert envy ? my mum always chooses something evil in the cheesecake line and I sit with a black coffee trying to look virtuous.

Slinky I?m the opposite usually ? I?m really good on the weekends as its my weighing in day on a Monday. So I polish my halo all Saturday and Sunday and then hit the biscuit barrel with a vengeance come Monday night Grin

Kid I feel tired just looking at the amount of exercise you do. That is my major downfall. I just don?t really like exercising, its boooooooring and it makes me all red and sweaty. Ick. Blush

Its my SW day today and I am really hoping that I have lost a pound and a half as that will take me to 20% of my start-weight lost. I?ve only had one sneaky weigh this week and I?m resisting the urge to jump on the scales again but I ?hope?think I might have done it.

pixiestix · 25/07/2011 11:13

Grin @ Lakes piggy babies!

grinningbee · 25/07/2011 11:52

Pixie 20% down is AMAZING! I wouldn't blame you for having a sneaky peek either Grin

I have a suspicion this week could be good, but will have to wait until the morning for my Dod.

Btw - I am minding the list for Cheese this week, so when anyone has their weigh-in, can you pm me the details and I'll bung a list up on Wednesday evening. Won't do it too early as I think someone has a weigh in at class that night. Or I could be imagining that!

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 25/07/2011 13:33

afternoon all

Pixie cripes 20% that is amazing, fingers crossed you get there.

I'm really hungry today I had salad and a baked potato for lunch (with butter Blush)

Lake no problems the EE does suit me but I don't have milk in my drinks and some days I scabble around to have enough HEA. I do put a bit of milk on my cereal in the mornings but tend to "forget" it and have some cheese if I fancy it later on

mandalee · 25/07/2011 14:16

'Lo all... it's been a while! Welcome to all who've joined while I was cutting class away and have no idea who the ruddy hell I am. Grin

Glad to see you're all still going gangbusters - very Envy at the massive losses!

I've been sticking to my self-designed protein-heavy regimen, and slowly but surely losing (except for the weekend we went camping and I got stuck in a tent in the rain with the dog all day, reading and eating Pringles... Blush)

And kid, same thing happens to me when I work out if I've had just coffee and carbs for breakfast... I need some nuts or eggs or something in there to even out the blood sugar. Maybe you could have a handful of almonds or something with your morning meal?

kid · 25/07/2011 16:35

I don't think I do loads of exercise, the most I do is 3 x 45minute sessions with an instructor (rather than 45 minutes casual walking on the treadmill like other people I know lol)
The least exercise I do a week is 2x 45 minute sessions with an instructor.

I have been to work today and walked there and back (30 minutes each way)
I am not very toned but I guess I am quite strong. I tried to find the tape measure to check my waistline but can't find it.
I did find the biscuit tin though, hmm, cookies Grin

I hope others are being more strict than I am, its hard being good for so long!

grinningbee · 26/07/2011 08:13

Kid step away from the cookies WinkGrin

Goooooooooooood morning everyone!

Dod for me today. I shall know in about an hour what the score is (always weigh at 9am). I am keeping everything I have two of crossed. My tops are starting to look baggy, and keep slipping off over one shoulder, or just sagging down at the front revealing my bra. I think this means they are too big! (There's an unfamiliar concept for me).

Food for the day will be:

Weetabix and a banana
Beans on toast and an apple
Cannelloni
Yogurt for snacks

OP posts:
Hedgepig · 26/07/2011 10:14

Morning all
Loose tops Bee well done
I also am going to have to sort out my wardrobe an get rid of all my clothes cos they are now too big. It will leave me with about half a dozen things that fit BUT I am NEVER going back to that size again so why am I hanging onto stuff that is too big. I want to loose more weight, so I don't want to get too many things in this interim size. I must go and look around the charity shops, it's just finding the time to do it.

Kid that sounds like a huge amount of exercise, I manage the odd walk at lunch time and 1 exercise class a week

Mandalee well done on you slow and steady loss, it is the best way I'm sure but part of you really wants to loose half a stone in a week just to move things along Grin

food today
B 2x dinky toast and jam, melon with low fat yog
L Salad + coronation chicken
D Chicken rissotto

SlinkyB · 26/07/2011 10:17

Morning all,

Was my DoD yesterday and I stayed the same :( Seems I really can't have sweets, pizza AND a bottle of wine and lose weight (what a shocker). I was quite peed off as I'd done exercise six days last week so thought maybe I'd have a teeny-tiny loss, but alas.

Still, gave me the kick up the bum I needed as guess I was sliding downhill rapidly (and it tasted gooooooooood) so am all motivated again today and feeling like I'll have a good week. Am even going to pack a salad for tomorrow's lunch with my Dad, instead of eating at the pub (halo).

Off to power-walk the lo to clinic to get him weighed - he'll be six months on Saturday and is looking all chubby and lovely (biased? moi?) so hoping he's doing well. Have a good day everyone!
