Morning all!
Just a quick message, DH has the day off so heading for last minute holiday shops!

Thanks for posting bonzo

grinningbee · 19/07/2011 12:16

Goooooooooooood afternoon everybody Grin

Great weight losses so far, I wonder what tomorrow will bring. Health visitor lady has just left. It's like having a whirlwind in the house! She's French and talks very fast, but is absolutely lovely. Ds is on the 91st percentile for length Shock but bless him he's dropped on the weight one from 75 to about 38. Long and skinny! She wasn't worried, and said it's just 'cos he's on the move now.

So, all done until 2 years old now Smile

Back to food.

Weetabix
Beans on toast
Leftover Shepherd's Lentil Pie with mushy peas
Fruit and yogurt for snacks

It was my Dod today. I am a happy bunny GrinGrin and that is all I am saying until tomorrow. Wink

That roulade recipe looks nice, might have to try it. I've added to the recipe thread.

I've been to the seaside today and have totally blown SW today. Oh well, let's see if the scales are my friend in the morning!

pixiestix · 19/07/2011 15:55

Hello all, I was on the first thread and went awol not long after the last one started, but I just ?saw? Bloof on another thread and it prompted me to seek you out! It?s fab to see how well everyone is doing.Hedgepig you are storming along! I have been taking the slow but sure approach ? so basically cheating a little bit every week but mostly being ok Blush ? so I?m closer to my target weight than my start weight, which is exciting. I?m the smallest now I have been for a loooooong time, but still have about a stone and a half of wobbly bits to go.

Hey Cheese! How is I doing? Bet she is getting big now. Smile My DD is 9.5 months now and full of the devil mischief.

Belated congratulations on your pregnancy Pony - thats lovely news. Shock at hoping to be the same weight by the time you go into labour. I put on 9lbs through very careful eating and thought I had done well!

I don?t think we ?met? on the other thread Bee but we are diet twins today ? you are eating exactly the same as me! Hopefully I will get a loss as good as yours next week Smile Mine have been a bit pathetic lately ? half a pound here and there, but as long as its all heading downwards I guess its ok.

grinningbee · 19/07/2011 16:18

Hi Pixie! Don't sit at the back Wink How funny we have the same menu today Smile I am rather fond of the lentil pie, it's really filling too.

Tomorrow is the Big Food Shop and I've been meal planning again. Dh has requested the cannelloni yet again! so that will be the third week in a row. Oh well, at least he likes it! Will also be making the rogan josh (with beef), quorn bolognese and having a fry up night (SW style). And I've decided to give that roulade a go with some blueberries or cherries. I will report back when I've done it.

I am trying so hard not to bounce around the list like Tigger, but gosh it's difficult Grin

Kid If you did a lot of walking at the seaside, will that not have made up for the eating?

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/07/2011 16:36

Hola! practising for Spain...

How you doing bud? Izzy is doing fab - growing like a beanstalk and doing all sorts of clever things. had our first tooth and weaning commenced after she started shovelling in my Jacket potato at 18weeks. Hows things with you? Well done on the loss. Are you gonna join in the DOD

Have been good today and done a sneaky weigh in...its looking OK.

Bee Glad you passed the 8month test! Looking foreard to hearing your loss tomorrow!

PM me tomorrow all your stats and I will publish in the evening.

kid · 19/07/2011 17:28

bee if i'd done lots of walking, I might have been ok. But, I sat on my backside and supervised 220 kids (yes, 220!)

I've only been home for 20 minutes and now I have to go gym for my cardio class. It's so hard but so much fun so I thoroughly enjoy it. Maybe if I push myself a little harder tonight, I can burn up that whisper bar and go ahead bar I had today?
If not, there is always next week (another week down the drain!)

grinningbee · 19/07/2011 21:24

Kid after supervising that many children, I'd be eating a family size bar of dairy milk and downing the vino!! Shock You're a braver woman than me.

OP posts:
pixiestix · 19/07/2011 22:15

220 kids??? Shock That deserves a whole pack of Wispas, not just one!

I'll do DoD tomorrow Cheese but I'm going to be on the naughty step Blush I had some friends over for the weekend and it was total carnage food-wise. I'm abit miffed about it actually. I know I am doing this for myself and my health and not because of anyone else's opinion of me (etc, etc!) but I haven't seen these friends for ages and I have lost about two and a half stone in that time. Did they notice? Did they say one single complimentery thing? Nope. Not a word. Sad And instead they bought wine, and chocolate and cake and all things bad with them, and like a complete muppet I went and gorged on it. Sad Bah! (My own fault for secretly hoping for all kinds of praise and glory!)

I cracked and ate three Linda McCartney sausages with the lentil pie Bee Blush No idea how many syns they are but I think I have blown what should have been a really angelic day.

grinningbee · 19/07/2011 22:32

Never mind Pixie, draw a line under it and start again. Boo to your friends not noticing! That's rude. As I said to Cheese yesterday (I think) make them a scan bran cake next time Wink. Yes Cheese, I am Eeeevil...

Off to bed in a mo as I have to get the kids up and out of the house by 6.45 to take dh to work. I've told him this needs to change as it's not fair on them (or me!). Hey ho.

Nighty night all.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 19/07/2011 22:33

P.S Pixie if the sausages were the frozen ordinary veggie ones, they are two syns each. If they were the Italian frozen ones, they are 1/2 a syn each.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 20/07/2011 07:21

Well, what a night. Anyone mind if I have a small rant? Skip the next bit if you do Wink

So dh had asked me to take him to work today. However, ds was up a lot last night. The longest stretch of sleep I got was 1 hour 20 minutes. Then at 4.45 after getting him down for the last time, dh says he'll take the car instead because "you're too tired to drive". I ask him what I do about shopping and the fact I've been stuck indoors all week, and he got all snarly. He keeps changing what is happening. I got woken at 6, and then he had a right go when I said he keeps changing everything and I can't plan anything or say I'm going out. We are 13 miles between towns out in the sticks, so I really can't go anywhere. Plus he's got the pram in the boot.

Good job I have some sausages in the fridge, as that'll be tea now.

Anyway, let's start that again shall we.

Good morning everyone!

Food for today will be:

Weetabix with a splash of milk (as I am almost out)
Toast and cheese triangles
Sausages, eggs and tinned tomatoes (I think I have some). Dh will have chips too.

Good luck to all the Day of Doomers today.

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/07/2011 08:12

Morning all...it's the Day of Doom!

I have somehow lost weight! Woop di woop! Had a fair bit of wine last night but the SW fish pie I made was fab. Will post it later.

bee that sounds awful poor you. I'd hate to be stuck in ESP if I'd planned to go out. I'd come and get you but I suspect you aren't in London.

Right there is a fairly awful smell coming from DD ( who is sat in her bouncer), will catch up later.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/07/2011 08:58

kid 200 kids, blimey! Good on ya.

pixie your mates didn't say a thing? That's mean. Had my mates round last night. Got a bit pissed off as they have no idea how difficult a little one can be. Didn't get why I wouldn't sit on a bus for 45min with the baby to have dinner with them in the evening them get the bus home.Grin

pixiestix · 20/07/2011 09:46

Nope, not a word! DH tried to reassure me with lots of "They're just not the sort of people who are focussed on looks, they probably didn't notice when you were really big either, they just see you" - Yeah, whatever! What a load of crap! Praise me, damn it!!

Grrr Bee that sounds crap Angry I can totally relate as we are in the wilds of Cornwall and there is nothing worse than feeling completely cut off with a little one - and being hungry to boot! My tactic when DH acts that way is just to talk to him like the idiot he is a child and say very clearly and calmly "No. Things are going to be done this way, for this and this reason. OK?" It drives him mad. Wink
Alternatively, don't make him any dinner and when he complains say innocently "Well, you took the car. How could I do any food shopping?" Or run up a big taxi bill on his credit card gadding about the countryside. Mmm, lots of evil plans to ponder!

C4ro · 20/07/2011 10:28

Hi everybody, I've been off fred for a couple of weeks, looks like you're all still chucking off weight like Russian shotputers- congrats!

Alps (if you can remember that far back!) I came home at the weekends so not much sightseeing and no chance to look out your sardines sadly- I was Asia side in Umanriye mostly. Loads of travel too as the customer is down in Tire which is an internal flight to Izmir plus a drive through an area packed with holidaymakers. I also lost my 10 Euro bet with myself that I'd come home to find the DH had got his mum over to help with DD at some point! He coped fine.

cheese I have mostly mates with no kids so sympathies on people not understanding the new logistics don't allow for just "popping over" or "hopping on a bus" without a little bit of pre-planning. If they ever go the kid route, you get a free pass to rib them about this and get your own back.
On a pointless-things-to-worry-about note; I've no idea how to do the this week DOD- I'll just mail you where I'm up to but it's two or three weeks worth so it's just a new start point I think.

bee I must have missed out on life as I have never tried a scan bran cake. Is it as truly bad as you're saying? Perhaps I will make one for MIL and claim it is a authentic English receipe and that is how we all like cakes!! Better that than sharing with her my mums recipe for baked onions which is basically just raw warmed up onion with a bit of melted cheese on top.

grinningbee · 20/07/2011 12:28

Sorry about this - mini rant update...

Dh appeared not long after my post this morning, looking rather shell shocked. He'd crashed the car Angry. Won't give details, but he ended up failing to take a corner (and at some speed I would say) and driving straight on into a crop field. I have seen it since, and he got a good way in. The car is a mess, headlight and indicator smashed, bodywork broken off, scratches all over... and a lot of grain inside all sorts of bits. He is fine. Police breathalysed him, but obviously that was ok.

So. I have spent the last 4 hours driving him around, not having had anything to eat or drink, and the poor dc only having had a drink, and I managed to find a biscuit for dd in the car. Going to give them their dinner now.

What a day. It's almost enough to drive a girl to chocolate.

Will catch up properly later, and pm you Cheese with my results.

grinningbee · 20/07/2011 13:18

Scan bran cake recipe now gracing the recipe thread. I have lots more too - scan bran fudge cake anyone???

OP posts:
Riasdragonflytattoo · 20/07/2011 13:49

hope he (and you) are OK bee. My DH is quite prone to that kind of behaviour... he says I am a bad driver, but he has written off 2 of our carsHmm

am alone 'til 3.15, DH gone off to a country show with DS's 1 and 3, I stupidly agreed to cover for someone at work. So I am cleaning the house in readiness for my holidays at the weekend.

kid, that is a lot of kids. you are a better person than me too.

hi everyone else.

Not impressed with Dod today. Hopefully will lose some next week as DM will be watching every item I eat like a hawk-- mainly in charge of food.

kid · 20/07/2011 13:53

Oh dear bee sorry to hear about the crash. Glad your dh is okay.

I didn't mind seaside trip yesterday. I work in a school so got paid to supervise the kids along with 20 or so members of staff plus several parents.

I found out today that my scales don't quite work as well as I thought they did. Turns out they don't go over 10lb. But I've worked it out so panic over!

I have to take ds back to the hospital tonight Angry he isn't getting on with the finger splint so they want to see him again to see what else they can do. Hopefully we won't be up there for long.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 20/07/2011 18:02

Any more wanting to join in the day of doom? Only had 5 PMs... Get em in!

Hedgepig · 20/07/2011 18:10

I just PMed you Cheese did you get it? Sorry didn't manage to weigh myself before I went to work.

Bee I hope DH is OK, is the car fixable?

best chuck the Short One (DS2) in the bath, see you all later
