Hi grinningbeeSmile it is indeed me

and I still need to lose more than 5 stoneBlush I am truly pants at this weight-loss thing. I had lost nearly 2 stone, but it's back on (partially due to ADs)

I will have a skim through the thread later on.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 15/07/2011 15:49

Waving at ria. Welcome to the gang.

On I phone so apologies for errors...

Made it to Newport, passport forms in. Had my readymade roll and resisted a pasty at the services.

Off to my Bessie mates now, she's a farmer. How am I going to avoid cream teas all weekend?

grinningbee · 15/07/2011 16:22

Fingers crossed for the passport Cheese! It would be rude not to eat a cream tea really, I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Ria I dropped off that thread when I got pg, have been going now since the beginning of June and still need to lose another 5 stone really. We'll get there! I'm sure you'll get the idea of the Dod (Day of Doom) when you read through. If not, just shout and we'll explain Grin

Hi all Smile

Quick post as I'm off to stay with DSis and family for weekend with DSs whilst DP tiles our new extension, think I got the better end of the deal although with 4 cousins aged 3 and under, I am possibly being foolishly optimistic.

Have had reasonable few days food-wise except for a chocolate coin related blip last night. not sure what the weekend will have in store food-wise. Will just have to try and be sensible and not eat bars of chocolate and tubs of ice cream

Right, must go and load car and get going, 1st long car journey with DS2, wish me luck....

Happy weekend everyone

kid · 15/07/2011 18:40

I've been so good all day (so it better show on the scales next week!)

I've had:
B= weetabix
L= egg fried rice (made by my own fair hands at 6:30 this morning!)
D= chicken bryani
Snacks = muller light, satsumas and I'll have a curly wurly in a while just for a chocolate fix.

Thats all within syns even though I haven't actually counted them. I'll trust my instinct Grin
My little bit of exercise today was walking home from work instead of driving.

I'm still being grumpy today. I was having a good day at work but it ended a bit badly but I got over that. Then DD dropped my laptop on the floor and a piece has cracked off the corner. I shouted really loudly, it hurt my throat! She gave a stroppy 'sorry' which just wound me up more.
She has since asked what she can do to make it up, I've told her she can buy me a new laptop for £500. What annoys me is, I told her not to balance it on the edge of the chair but of course she knew better. The wire was trailing across the room and she walked into it. She was the one that put it there so there is no-one else to blame.

Oh well, she doesn't seem bothered that I told her off and the laptop is still working for now. If it dies I'll just have to buy a new one. I've only just had a new hard drive put in as the last one died due to being dropped.

BonzoDooDah · 16/07/2011 00:52

EEk at the laptop drop. And welcome Ria.

I hauled out my Wii fit tonight and found it was 258 days since I last used it when I was was a stone heavier Blush So I Did a good go on that and then remembered my sister bought me Just Dance for xmas. So I've done about an hour on that. Can hardly move my arms now. So hopefully that will help kick start something.

Kid know just what you mean about wasting weeks. Last week was half lb and this week one and I think come ON woman!

grinningbee · 16/07/2011 08:43

Morning all. Well, what a rain-soaked gloomy day it is! Not sure we'll be going anywhere with it like this Sad

Can someone explain how it is possible to put weight on when you know you've not eaten anything bad? Yes, I know I shouldn't weigh everyday...

Anyway. Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Toast and fruit
Bacon, eggs, sausages and tomatoes
Yogurt and fruit for snacks

OP posts:
kid · 16/07/2011 09:07

bee It's annoying when you put weight on when you have stuck to plan. That's why you should only weigh weekly as your weight will go up and down.

I WI today, just to check my weight Grin
I am very pleased and hope I don't gain anything between now and Wednesday.

Despite the rain, we're out for the day. First stop is Richmond, then north finchley and somewhere else in-between. I'm not sure flip flops were a god idea today!

Hedgepig · 16/07/2011 21:18

I hope you had a nice time in the rain Kid , it was very wet here this morning but cleared up by late afternoon.

Good reminder about the weighing Kid I was only weighing once a week at group (not even a sneak peek before) but I have fallen into hopping onto the scales most mornings which is not a good thing

I have just had orange tea not a green thing anywhere near it Grin - SW Chips (sprinkled with Paprika before cooking), baked beans and Quorn Swedish meatballs (which were nicer than the sausages and are still Syn free) DH has gone out to a BBQ with the oldest DS but DS2 is still grotty so I decided it was best not to take him out this evening

Bonzo well done on the mad exercise session, you'll feel great in the morning (well on Monday most probably)

Riasdragonflytattoo · 16/07/2011 21:58

congratulations on your LO gbeeSmile

I have skimmed some of the thread but not all.

I have just started mirtazapine and am feeling quite pants. Also from what I've read it looks like I will struggle to even maintain my current over-weightedness, let alone loseSad. any experiences?

out to lunch at DMs tomorrow, so should find it easier to stick to plan.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 16/07/2011 22:00

kid what is the recipe for the biryani please (if you have time to link/post it)

is the new magazine any good? or is it just "same old"? Typically I bought the mag in tesco on Weds, and the new one came out the day after.

timidviper · 16/07/2011 22:28

Can I join in with you too please?

I need to lose my baby weight as my youngest child has turned 20 so it's about time! I have no idea how much weight I need to lose (other than an awful lot) as it is at least 23 years since I have been a "normal" size so plan to take it in steps, maybe aim to lose a stone then set next target when I have if that makes sense.

I am in my third week of SW and am delighted because I lost 8lb in my first week and 4lb in my second. Haven't had any challenges like going out or drinking since I've started though so I've been really good.

At the meeting this week the consultant said the recipe for pasta with leek and peas is supposed to be gorgeous but I haven't got it.

Riasdragonflytattoo · 17/07/2011 10:37

well done timidviper, that's a fab loss (I could do with one of those this week as I am going away for a week in the Dales next Friday, and a 7lb loss would make my clothes more comfortable!). You made me Smile about loaing your babyweight - I have had some of mine for 14 years, but most of it for only 4. Good luck,

grinningbee · 17/07/2011 11:58

Morning all!

Welcome Timidviper Grin great weight losses so far!

Well, we braved the rain yesterday and went out for a mooch. I went to Bravissimo after reading about it on here. Wow, what a revelation! Even if the fitter did keep calling me hun... I have discovered that nice maternity bras do exist. No more Mothercare for me. Whole new thread there on the size difference though.

So, food for the day.

Weetabix
Toast with a couple of cheese triangles
Cannelloni
Fruit and yogurt for snacks

Hope you're all having lovely weekends.

OP posts:
kid · 17/07/2011 12:05

Back from the gym, hard class as usual!
I didn't have time for breakfast so had a banana on the way there. Think I'll have weetabix now and then get in the bath. I've got loads of washing, ironing and housework to do. Plus I have to go shopping and collect dc. Better get moving I suppose.

ria the biryani is just a jar. I think it's called 2 step biryani and comes in 2 different flavours. It's really nice but a bit on the hot side.

Well done timidviper excellent losses so far.

I might be looking forward to dod this week, i'm trying not to keep hopping on the scales though.

Hedgepig · 17/07/2011 14:25

morning, how may Syns do you think there are in a Lemsip sniff sniff Sad

Hello timidviper nice to have you on board, top weight loss too.

I just feel pants today so trying to not over-syn but well see how the day goes.

I love Bravissimo Bee

Cheeseandbiscuits · 17/07/2011 14:59

Hello I am back! Lovely weekend away, quite indulgent food wise though. I am rubbish when we go away for weekends but when you are at someones house it is hard to be picky.

Hedgepig hope you feel better soon, poor you.
bee bravissimo is fab. I go to rigby and pelier to get measured but then sneak off to bravissimo or m&s as can't afford the bras there.

Hi timid great loss so far!

kid · 17/07/2011 15:35

I got the new magazine today, hope there's some yummy, easy recipes in there. I went shopping by myself and was enjoying strolling around and taking my time. Got home, nice and chilled out having not just spent an hour arguing with dc in the supermarket. I started putting the shopping away and I dropped the 4 pint bottle of milk. It landed on my foot and the bottle split! I just stood there, leg covered in milk and watching the White puddle get bigger and bigger! Good job DH was here as he had the sense to start wiping it up. My puppy helped but there was just too much milk Grin

DS is back to the hospital tomorrow and hopefully will have the cast removed. I'm taking babywipes with us ad I reckon his arm will stink Grin

wildstrawberryplace · 17/07/2011 15:45

Hello, I've ony just realised that this is the SW thread - been keeping an eye out for one for a while, silly me. Hope you don't mind if I join?

I started on Monday, start weight 13 stone Blush. Doing Extra Easy at the moment.

I didn't actually get to a meeting this week, I will go tomorrow to reregister, but I remember the rules from last time when I didn't stick to it and gave up after 2 weeks

Haven't been 100% on plan all week as it's taken a while for my resolve to harden, hopefully from tomorrow I'll be being hardcore and get this weight off finally.

Today's food:

Coffee, porridge and banana, and a boiled egg

Tuna and white bean salad, clementines

Decaff coffee, 1 ryvita w/nutella on

Dinner will be: extra lean mince bolognese sauce (h/made with loads veggies blended in), steamed rice, broccoli
0% greek yogurt and sliced orange drizzled with 1 tsp honey

10.5 Syns from coffeemate, honey, nutella and 1tsp oil in salad

Hedgepig · 17/07/2011 17:27

Hiya Strawberry welcome, pull up a chair and have some lovely grapes Grin

Lemsips are 1/2 syn each if anyone ever need to know (I really wasn't expecting to find them on Syns Online but there you are)

Cheese lovely to see you back, I am never that good at weekends either although today has been good so far

food today

B. Bacon roll (wholemeal roll HeB) and then another so 6 syns for the extra roll (but worth it) & 2 syns for the BBQ sauce
L. Salad, baked potato Tuna mixed with reduced calorie Thousand Island Dressing (1 syn for 2 tbsp)
D Home made bolognese with pasta and veg (snap Strawb)

snacks - Caramel snack-a-jack (2.5 syn) and a very yummy nectarine

Riasdragonflytattoo · 17/07/2011 19:21

Ok, so lunch at my mums didn't go as plannedBlush, but it was yummy Smile

I am well prepared for tomorrow, bacon and quorn sausages cooked in fridge to reheat (if I can face eggs tomorrow after Friday), pasta salad almost ready, just waiting for the pasta to cool, baked potato and veg to do to have with pork chop for tea...

Is it possible to shrink my stomach in ten days? Explanation- I have an ultra-competitve older Dsis, who is slightly more overweigh than me, and not quite as tall as me, she likes to give me clothes that are "too small" for her, the second she loses 1 lb and it makes me feel Sad. Today she gave me some trousers she had bought (from oxfam with the size cut out) and they hadn't fitted her, so she was expecting them not to fit me either... I got them on, but it wasn't pretty (but I'm not telling herWink), so I would love to be able to wear them while we are away together. (I am a cowWink)

Was going to go for a swim, but DH is late in from work, was going to do Cto5k d1w1 instead, but it's raining. !

Riasdragonflytattoo · 17/07/2011 20:52

viper- leek and pea pasta
put 14oz dried fusilli in a pan of water with a veg stock cube and cook for 10 minutes.
meanwhile spray a non-stick fryng pan with fry light and place on medium heat. Thinly slice 2 leeks, add to the pan with 9oz frozen peas and cook for 10 minutes.
drain the pasta, reserving 4fl oz of the cooking stock, then return to the pan,
In a bowl mix together the reserved stock, 4oz light philadelphia with garlic and herbs.
Add the cheese mixture, leeks and peas to the pasta, season and mix well.
serves 4, 2 1/2 syns per portion on green.

acsec · 17/07/2011 20:56

I have eaten mine and everybody else's syns this weekend - urgh! Feel somewhat sick now. Weigh in tomoz and I'll have put on about 8 stone.

Oh well back on it tomorrow!

acsec · 17/07/2011 20:58

Riasdragonflytattoo Quorn sauages are no longer free!! The frozen are 1/2 syn each, all fresh except BBQ sizzlers are 1 syn and the sizzlers are 2.5 syns each!!
They were my staple diet :(

kid · 17/07/2011 21:07

ria is the cto5k any good? I'd love to try it but suffer from painful shins so am a bit scared/reluctant.
