Welcome one, and welcome ALL to our 10th Thread, celebrating the long haul that has been central to our successful weight loss...

There is certainly lots more success to be enjoyed, so stay and weigh, there is always someone on hand for support or to give a kick up the backside as needed Grin We are good at motivating one another that's for sure!

Passes out the champagne that looks suspiciously like wine, Blondes you are only allowed ONE!

Right...measuring....
Chest (across boobs?)
Waist
Hips
Thighs?

I'm having a bad couple of days. Lots of personal stuff going on & it's dragging me down!

Also am researching Brownies (chocolate kind) for cakes I've been asked to make. Could be dangerous! Confused This is a hard career path to take when you are trying to diet!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/05/2011 20:15

Oh Bebejones I'm really sorry you aren't having a good time of it. Sad

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/05/2011 20:33

......and post your measurements!!

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 28/05/2011 21:35

Sad sadly piste I partly slid back, lost 22lb and a stone has gone back on again. My problem is lack of goal - I need some kind of challenge Trimmer

Bebe sorry it's been a grotty couple of days. glad you are getting some orders in for cakes, Nigella Lawson has express Brownies which are seriously yum.

bebejones · 28/05/2011 21:44

I tried Nigella's 'everyday brownies' and they were NOT good! I threw them out!!!

I need renewed motivation too Trimmer!

Piste - I shall dig out my tape measure!

GettinTrimmer · 28/05/2011 22:03

Probably a bit too gooey for you then Bebe! What brownie recipes are you looking at?

bebejones · 28/05/2011 22:18

Have started a thread! Blush I need something that is quite dense & fudgy but not dry & that holds it's shape when cut. Very chocolatey, pref without nuts, indulgent. Going to try my old faithful recipe 2moro to see if I can get that to 'work'. Also got a Jamie Oliver recipe to try & a couple from MNers on my thread! Oh and it must be no higher than 1.5cm(ish) when cooked. :o

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/05/2011 22:38

What about a run GT - could that be a challenge?

We need to work out this maintenance lark, you say you've lost a stone and put it back on, B says she lost 4 stone and put that back on, that would belike you bebe putting all your weight back on, and I've been up and down since I can remember.

So what are we going to do??!!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 29/05/2011 07:48

i kept the 4 stone off for 5ish years but it slowly crept back on over 18mths or so - too much good living with dh Grin

bebe sorry you are having a down time at the moment {{hugs}} and my mb makes fab brownies, think they are the recipe you tried but didnt like, ie nigella

trimmer putting on weight is easy :( def try to set yourself a small target goal

pisty we shall try to maintain

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/05/2011 09:19

It is too bloody easy to put it on Sad
And then soooo bloody hard to shift

Well I'm not putting it back on this time. Makes a pact with herself it's not going to happen!

OP posts:
bebejones · 29/05/2011 10:16

I only have the one Nigella recipe...she has many Brownie recipes, but I only have one of her books!

I shall NOT be putting 4 stone back on...shan't shan't shan't!!!!!

Sadly I will never be one of 'those' people who can eat what they like & not put on an ounce! Envy

RatherBeOnThePiste · 29/05/2011 12:01

Please just excuse me a mo

Darling daughter, will you please stop reading my stuff on Mumsnet, you are being very nosy indeed, I don't read your facebook stuff, so please go away and get on with your revision, and respect my privacy.

Sorry to everyone else

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 29/05/2011 13:43

Grin ds has started doing that, "ooh mummy that's swearing!"

Right, maintaining for you three and losing that bloody stone again for me & all the other slinks who are still getting there. I knew what I was doing at the time with the snacking and letting the exercise go, but couldn't get the right mental attitude, I don't really know why. I don't have any excuse really.

My friend is one of 'those' people Envy Her son, ds's mate, eats like a horse and is skinny as a rake so it must be all in the genes.

Smalline · 29/05/2011 16:47

A big Whoop Whoop for you Piste for losing 3lbs and reaching your target weight, you have worked so hard and have been so patientSmile. Now the hard work begins for you and Blondes

Well done Pretty for your 1lb loss. You must be so proud to have such lovely parents.

Well done Bebe for sts, I know you were disappointed cos you tried extra hard this week, but hopefully it will show a bigger loss next week.

Like Trimmer I lost 22lbs about 2 and half years ago, spent the next year putting most of it back on again, and the last year & half trying to lose it all again, am now about 4lbs away, I think it's a case of keeping track of our weight, probably for the rest of our lives. We all know when we are likely to put on weight, Christmas, Easter, school holidays, on holiday etc, it's just a case of planning for these times, and working extra hard to lose it, before we put more weight on.

I've lost 1.5lbs this weekSmile

Smalline well done Smile

Ok, wi tomorrow for me

smokinaces · 29/05/2011 17:59

I am here.

Well in body.

At 5am this morning I was drunkenly walking home to the sound of the singing birds and the sun rising. It was a good night, which involved lots of wine, pimms, vodka, jager and red bull, dancing, and random snogs of all things!!

Am recovering with hangover food. Have spent the day in bed with tea and toast. Now got up and had a mini roast. Still feeling bad.

So am still off the diet wagon. I will be back, I promise. But I've needed the last few weeks.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 30/05/2011 10:07

I haven't been out on a big bender like that for ages!

Such fun at the time, then a bit cor blimey!!

GettinTrimmer · 30/05/2011 10:49

blondes good advice about a small goal, my birthday is early July and I am aiming to be 11stone 13 by then.

I just need to work out a plan - sorry if I'm boring anyone, just thinking aloud - eat 5 times a day, healthily, sign up for race for life, just have to get rid of this stone again.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 30/05/2011 11:40

I am bored to tears here....
In time gone by I would have been grazing, but not doing that any more.

Yes GT - you need a cunning plan. I can vouch for low carbing, it's been very successful, a stone in a month I reckon, but hard going. Can you get back into your running? Plan what you are going to eat each day, so you know what you are going to have, rather than just letting it evolve?

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 30/05/2011 12:49

I admire your low carbing piste.

I do not have the resolve!

BUT they need cutting down - 1 slice of bread a day, smaller portions of all other carby things.

As far as plans are concerned, ww I can't stick to, although useful now & again to get me focused, foodfocus gets boring, I just need to eat healthily and have some discipline.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/05/2011 15:10

trimmer not boring at all :)

and yes i weigh 3 lbs less in am then eve

RatherBeOnThePiste · 30/05/2011 17:35

When I said I was bored to tears Trim, that definitely wasn't about YOU!! It was about my two DC revising!!
I've just seen my post and it looked like it was directed at you Sad

Yes a plan is what you need! Deffo. I do like to think what I'm going to have for the day, plan it out and then try not to deviate.

had a really nice pub lunch today - salad nicoise with seared tuna steak and quite a few gins, but that's ok cos there are no carbs in a gin and skinny

OP posts:
bebejones · 30/05/2011 17:50

I have been bad all BH weekend & I'm not sorry! :o

Need to be good for the next few weeks, and I mean that or else I won't get into my dress for friends wedding on 18th!

I just can't low carb like Piste & am SOOOOOOOOOOO bored with diet food & soup!

Think (like Trimmer) I need to cut down/out bread & limit other bad carbs. Then maybe up my veggies & fruit & start drinking LOADS of water again!
