Ok, I have found all the old weight loss thread for anyone who wants to flick through, and see where they were at certain points. It was when I realised I was essentially the same since last July, that I started my new thing with the low carb nonsense. It is also funny looking at all the old names that came and went!

Trimmer, I had a cervical erosion 10 years ago and had to have a large loop excision under general aneasthetic (spelling awful sorry). Just come to the end of yearly smears and nothing returned. By all accounts i was lucky to have outgoing symptoms as at the time I was 19, and not due a smear for 6 years.

But anyway, just to let you know abnormal smears dont have to be really worrying. Hope its all ok. xx

I have PMT. I am off the diet wagon for tonight. Its a takeawy and vodka and coke. Not least because I am meant to be getting my coil fitted tomorrow and I am SHITTING it

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 18:40

smokin i also had an erosion (forgot about that as was years ago) - sure coil, will be fine and least you are getting/going to get sex Envy

piste fab hunting - well done!!!

GettinTrimmer · 24/05/2011 18:46

AAAh, pisty those evils are much appreciated, another one from me Angry The doctor's receptionist HAD to have the last word.

Blondes how many borderline results did you have before you had treatment? I've only had one borderline reading.

smokin glad you are all ok. What coil are you having fitted? I've had a mirena for the last 5 years (due for that to be redone as well) and it's been really good, no problems at all. Fitting was OK.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 18:47

erm 2 i think

then kept a close eye on me and had 6mthly smears then had another borderline and lasered me asap

GettinTrimmer · 24/05/2011 18:50

Pisty, thanks for linking the old threads.

My mumsnet nickname used to be chunkykitkat!!

smokinaces · 24/05/2011 19:01

I had a coloscopy once I had an abnormal smear - basically a camera that makes your cervix HUGE on camera so they can have a closer look. Only needed 1 abnormal smear I think?

I'm having Mirena fitted. Only with my PCOS its pot luck when my period comes, and its not here yet. Which means it might be hard to fit. Am dreading it.

And Blondes, no sex for the last month and none scheduled. Going back into a drought here again I think.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 19:46

then if need be they scrape away/laser/freeze bad cells

smokin bet you get a shag before i do

at this rate i may be shagging you Grin

smokinaces · 24/05/2011 19:58

this could be a close bet Blondes, what do you want to wager?!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/05/2011 19:58

Well there's a thought Hmm

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 21:49

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/05/2011 23:01

All this smear talk has made me want to cross my legs!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 23:11

its important pisty!!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/05/2011 23:13

Tis important I know for sure.. I'm not due again until next Feb sort of time, but I absolutely loathe going, and they've changed that scrapey thing, and the lady made me bleed last time. It was so sore.

But I wouldn't not go.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 23:17

i know you know its important :)

ask for a plastic smaller one with added ky

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/05/2011 23:34

It was like a bloody metal garden broom!! About that size too or so it felt

We've just recently gone through right bloody sagas with the cervical cancer jab for DD's age group. There were many families who wouldn't sign permission for their daughters for different reasons. Not tried and tested, unnecessary etc etc.

There is a Catholic senior girls school near here, where the whole school refused to organise vaccinations because they said it might add to promiscuity and all sorts of shit. That jab would have saved my friend, and I told DD that when she had it done (I think there were 3 over a period) that when she felt it going in, she should think of Catherine and know how lucky she,DD was Sad

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 23:36

((hugs over catherine))

friends dd was also offered it and friend said yes, though one of her friends mum said no :(

a small prick could saves lives - got to be worth it hasnt it :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/05/2011 23:39

I just don't get why you'd say no, although if you went on aibu and said Aibu not to let my DD have the cervical cancer jab? a whole lot of issues would be thrown around.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 23:54

i dont no :(

anything that could save a live has got to be worth it hasnt it

GettinTrimmer · 25/05/2011 09:46

I've had all vaccinations offered for my dc, the alternative seems far riskier to me.

Pisty sorry to hear that Sad

I was talking to a parent with very strong opinions who said vaccinations, etc are a money making scam and has had none at all for her dc.

GettinTrimmer · 25/05/2011 09:47

Smokin thanks for explaining what a coloscopy is!

prettybird · 25/05/2011 11:25

Hmm and Sad at that parent Trimmer That's why smallpox has now been eradicated, 'cos it was just a money making scam? Hmm

My dad was a doctor at a children's hospital and will get very angry on the subject of non-vaccinations as he has seen the kids seriously ill and dying in hopsital from diseases that could and should have been vaccinated against. Sometimes those kids can't be vaccinated (eg already immune suppressed) or are too young to have been vaccinated so have to rely on the "herd" immunity - so any increase in the prevalence of these diseases is dangerous to all children (and some adults)

Rant over Grin

bebejones · 25/05/2011 11:45

Hello all!

I am also good & had my smear last year. Horrid experience but completely necessary. Will definitely let DD have the cervical cancer jab when the time comes.

DD has had all her vaccinations to date, unlike the cats who are very lapsed on their boosters...ooops, at least DDs are free, the cats ones are bloody expensive! I agree that the diseases are far worse & carry far more risk than the jabs. I had all of them, including MMR, and I am fine! Hmm :o Dreading her next jabs though as she will actually be aware of what's going on!

Diet ok, although had a small piece of white choccy fudge with nuts at toddler group, but was v v small.

Had boiled rice & lemon chicken last night. Figured that wasn't too bad?! Confused Envy of DHs special fried rice & sweet & sour chicken!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 17:39

I am such an idiot!!!

OP posts:
smokinaces · 25/05/2011 17:49

Piste, why are you an idiot??

I have had a traumatic time. The coil fitting was not pleasant. Basically I have a very very posterier cervix covered in scar tissue (explains problems with both births and emcs) and it needed clamping and lots of heavy breathing. The nurse made me lay down afterwards until my pulse was back to normal. Am in lots of cramping pain. I know its worth it long term, but short term only chocolate and ice cream will fix it. This week is written off - will put 2lb on I reckon

But I did apply for that job today - term time only, 22 hours. Would be perfect, really crossing my fingers.
