Welcome one, and welcome ALL to our 10th Thread, celebrating the long haul that has been central to our successful weight loss...

There is certainly lots more success to be enjoyed, so stay and weigh, there is always someone on hand for support or to give a kick up the backside as needed Grin We are good at motivating one another that's for sure!

Passes out the champagne that looks suspiciously like wine, Blondes you are only allowed ONE!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/05/2011 18:00

I'll tell you why I'm an idiot (Smoky, sorry you had a rough time today and really good luck with the job now, certainly your stuff was impressive..)

I really really think I'm going to get to my original goal (11st) this Friday, I really think I will, but I changed my goal last week! I should have waited until I'd actually reached my it then changed it!!

Small things.... but

What an idiot!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 08:55

get to your goal and then change

ypu looked fine to me :)

prettybird · 26/05/2011 09:15

I am sitting here in tears having read a fabulous tribute to my mum & dad on facebook. Don't know why I am posting this on here, but I just wanted to share with someone.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 13:43

Pretty - how lovely, you should copy it and keep it somewhere safe?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 13:47

oh pretty, def copy it

my friend gave me a book yesterday where she had printed off all the lovely messages people had written on NJ and FB and pasted them all in a book with bear pics on them (i love bears)

it a beautiful memory to keep xx

prettybird · 26/05/2011 14:36

It was a simple thing really - all she said was "a wise friend last night over dinner said something so profound - his partner of 50 years is very ill - he looked at [her dh] and said I have not a single regret -i would compete with anybody re a life well lived cause we had such a great time. I thought apart from my weans saying that I was a good mum it would be the biggest compliment of my life if a could one day say that bout me." I knew immediately that she was talking about my dad (I knew he was over there for supper last night)

Mum and Dad really were a golden couple - did everything together, cycled around the world and are a hard act to follow, which is what I said on fb, to which my friend said....

your mum and dad was the most amazing couple - from their cycling all over the world, to their amazing academic achievements, from making koeksisters and boerewors to making preserves and your wedding dress, from creating the most magical xmas feasts that I have ever been to, to making ginger biscuits for my kids, from having a garden that is to die for, to stay up to date with politics, art, books. From always being there for us, to totally devoted to u and [my brother] , your spouses and your weans. To always have a new story. My goodness - a golden couple indeedxxx

It's all true :):(:):(:)

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2011 14:41

'passes tissues' thats lovely :)

prettybird · 26/05/2011 14:48

[sniff]

RatherBeOnThePiste · 26/05/2011 17:07

That is absolutely lovely Pretty, you should definitely keep that, print it and put it somewhere safe. Memories like that are bittersweet, they make you sad but happy all rolled into one, but we need to hold onto them tight. So print and keep Pretty!! xx

Unless you have loyalties elsewhere, please keep it all crossed for DD and her crew in white and red tomorrow please.

It's the National Schools' Rowing Regatta finals at Nottingham. They are a very strong crew, but too inexperienced to win, but I want them to do themselves credit iyswim, and enjoy it. I don't know what she is more excited about, her special hoody with National Schools 2011 down the sleeve and her name and crew number on the back, the fact they have gone already and stay tonight in a hotel, or the rowing itself!!

Sadly I can only go to see them if they get to the actual actual final which is early evening, and I'm not even sure how long it would take to get there. Up the M1 I think. Still next year, their racing will be on the Saturday - I'll def see her then!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2011 00:24

everything crossed for you dd pisty :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/05/2011 05:43

Aw. Thanks. She was so excited when they left yesterday she was practically skippIng. It was like she was 3 again. The hoody and overnight stay played a very big part in her joy Grin

Up blardy early here. I was woken at 5.15 by seagulls. This is London not the seaside ffs!

But two happy things.

I've reached my goal of 11 stone!!

And

Ive lost 3 lbs this week so altogether, Ive lost 3 whole stone!

I will update the list when I fire up the big pooter.

Whoop whoop Grin
Have a good day all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2011 06:18

Well done for reaching goal and losing 3 stone

You did it :)

Now you and I need to maintain :)

Come on rest of slinks - you will get there

Glad dd is happy

'passes over dh shotgun'

bebejones · 27/05/2011 09:11

Massive well dones Piste! :o

I sts :( Really cross, apart from the chinese I have been really good. Even carried DD loads this week. (She has been doing the toddler thing of not wanting to go in a pushchair when out, insisting on walking, then getting 'tired'! Oh and she has decided that she is scared of walking up & down stairs again Hmm) I want to get to 10st, I really do, but I just can't low carb & I feel really stuck in a rut food wise! There is only so much soup a person can take!!

Piste - Hope DD has a lovely time (& does well), very exciting! :)

GettinTrimmer · 27/05/2011 10:05

pretty that is so lovely Smile

pisty Wine CONGRATULATIONS!!!

blondes we will get there, but I am seriously thinking of trying slimmers world after half term. I just need something different and focus.

smokin good luck with new job. Are you feeling OK today, re horrible time at the docs?

bebe well done on sts but I know you are fed up. Is AF due, maybe that explains it.

Have a good day all. We are having an Indian takeaway this evening, I will force myself to have plain rice and a main course only - I have to visit the restaurant to pick up a raffle prize for the school (my excuse!).

GettinTrimmer · 27/05/2011 10:35

I'm also seeing a long-lost friend tomorrow - I found her on facebook. Not seen her for about 11 years. I can't wait to see her!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/05/2011 20:49

DD on her way back from Nottingham, they reckon 5 hours at this time on a Friday. Gawd that's late

Thank you for the vibes, they did very well indeed, as expected not a win, but they made it through the time trials which cut down the original field from 36 to 18, so that in itself was fab, then they went through the quarters into the semis and lost there. I would have loved to have seen it all, but she's just sent a load of pics, and next year if selected agin she will row on Friday AND Saturday, so I shall look forward to seeing them then.

Blondes - the maintaining bit really worries me. You and I have both lost weight before ( you say 4 stone? blimee) and have both put it back on again. I really don't want to do that this time. How are we going to stop it happening??!!

OP posts:

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/05/2011 21:27

yes i did wi and sts or MAINTAINED!!!!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/05/2011 21:52

Yaay for maintaining!

I just don't want to let the weight slide back on, so I'm reckoning, lose a bit more, then maintain so the scales say 10 st something, even if it's 10 st 13. Then if it goes to 11 st something I need to do something about it. Does that seem a reasonable idea? I'm also joining the gym, I really am this time because I think toning is also the way forward.

I might do measurements (but don't really know what to measure) to see if it changes. I found a tape measure the other day, so this could happen.
My tummy...yes...

What else? Please not my bum, because has a postcode of its own.

OP posts:
GettinTrimmer · 28/05/2011 20:00

Well done for maintaining Piste & Blondes.

I am weighing in on Monday, at least that will make me have a good day tomorrow. I am hanging on in there....

Had a couple of glasses of wine/chocolate biscuits/cappuccinos with friend today, these little snacks all add up.

I saw some pictures of myself from 2009 and i really don't want to go back to nearly 13 stone.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/05/2011 20:00

I want someone else to measure and post first! Blush

OP posts:
RatherBeOnThePiste · 28/05/2011 20:01

How do we stop sliding back though GT?!
