HI, hope everyone is having a good evening.

I had a great day ppoints wise. Feeling very pleased with myself. benbon I am interested in what people find that are good on points. I have no real finds yet, as I am sticking with obvious things so far- fruits and vegetables. However, we had joJo's mushroom and leek creamy pasta tonight and it was GORGEOUS! It tastes so rich and creamy. I usually make a similar thing with creme fraiche or single cream and parmesan, and honestly this was better. The philly cheese (although I used Sainbo's own light cheese) just texture wise was perfect.

I am also on track to not use any activity points so far. 5 today, and I clocked up 26 points on food. Usually I would be tempted to have a glass of wine but today i have instead gone to bed early (to MN) and had a cup of tea. My head and liver will thank me- as will my waist!

I feel pretty encouraged by the new PP plan. I do not feel as if I am on a diet at all, and I like knowing what I have in the bank so to speak. Usually I binge, then think I may as well throw it all away, but tracking it and adapting to counterbalance seems to be a really good method for me.

IHeartIona · 19/05/2011 21:36

bah - was just writing an epic post and lost it!
I lost 1.5 pounds today, only 0.5 pounds to get to what I had reached before the Easter blip.

androbbob · 19/05/2011 21:40

Hello all - well done on those in their mini quiche of 50lbs weight loss - you lucky people!

I did my 5k run today - I ran all the way round without stopping and managed a respectable 36 minutes. It was 2 laps round a local boating lake by the sea and the first lap was hard - made worse by the winning man and woman passing us before we had done the first lap - grrr! Our team of 5 was me and 4 lads from the office who all managed 23 to 26 minutes, but they were impressed with the sprint me and my partner managed at the end - dead heat (but my shoulder was slightly over first!!!!).

Had a lovely tortilla with bacon inside today - pan fried the bacon and then put the tortilla in the pan and crisped up one side, shoved the bacon and some mushrooms in and then folded in half, on plate, in mouth - was delicious and took 5 minutes to make. I cba to do salad with it as was too late and I reckon it was 6PP!

Tired now - need sleep!

androbbob · 19/05/2011 21:41

Forgot to say - no WI today as had to go to hospital to pick up my new insoles for my shoes - will try to get to gym tomorrow or Sunday for WI

IHeartIona · 19/05/2011 21:50

hmc - I agree with the others that two more stone would be too much, you look great as it is (am also v Envy of your gym
going to take fruit and alpen light for breakfast I think, and seek out the fruit bowl in place of the mini pastries.
well done on converting your STS to a loss!
NoWay you can get rid of that in a week or two and be back at goal. thanks for tip re pad thai, I'll also take my EOG I think!
Luckily our lunch has several choicse (been to the venue before) plus various desserts including fruit so I will try to choose the best thing available and pick bits out if needed!
vnmum thanks for the kindle tips, I;ll try it out. I'm just downloading the free stuff from amazon so far, will look for the kindle thread though. when I've found out my kindle email I'll PM you, thanks!
littlefish courgette soup sounds good, I love courgettes mmmm
well done froot
HaughtyChuckle you are a prolific namechanger! I don't see why you can't have size 10-12 as your overall goal, maybe review it each time you go down a stone bracket or half stone and check if you are happy with where you are.
joJo well done on interim loss, wholemeal wraps sounds good.
welcome NewChoos
benbon curly wurlys for me too, plus tuna light lunches, 5-7 pps, don't forget meringue nests 1pp each, alpen light bars 2pp
androbbob well done on 5k run, the bacon tortilla sounds scrummy, I have all the ingredients in and will try one on Sat I think

got another annoying day on Monday (after my training day tomorrow) when I have to go to a client's offices for the day and will end up having to have breakfast and dinner on the train, and lunch with the client. Maybe I should email them and ask for a WW friendly lunch!

wizzler · 19/05/2011 22:29

HMC I am very cross... It has taken me months to get over my Envy at your lovely gym from the last time you posted the piccies, and now in admiring your latest photo ( you look fab btw) I am all Envy again because I caught a glimpse of the gym!

Just back from a tennis match which we won.. hurrah. However, it was doubles and I spent a lot of the time shouting "yours" so dont think I can count too many activity points!Smile

JoJoBaldwin · 19/05/2011 22:45

benbon thanks for heads up on caramac icecream bars, mouth is watering lol
SpringFollows glad you liked the pasta!
Iona well done on getting back on track
androbob most impressed by not stopping on the 5k!

LolaLadybird · 19/05/2011 23:08

hmc - you look great, no way you need to lose another 2 stone! Ridiculous of leader's assistant to even suggest it, tbh think I may have the same problem when I get near goal (a long way off atm) as I've always weighed heavy even when slim and am similar height. Have huge gym envy btw!

gemmumy - soups are good for lunch, carrot and coriander v easy and practically no points. This week I tried the WW parnsip soup recipe but bit disappointed when I realised parsnips contain points (gah!). Littlefish's recipe sounds yummy though. Also, I sometimes have tinned crab as an alternative to tuna.

Welcome Newchoos

Interesting food day - had a good lunch at work (cooked meal provided for free as I work in a school). This evening have been busy baking for a charity cake sale and before I knew it, t'was quite late so dinner ended up being 2 ryvitas with philly and a peice of brownie that didn't quite make it out of the tin in one piece. Need to go to bed now before the other cakes attack me! Wink

LolaLadybird · 19/05/2011 23:10

Oh and well done on the run androbob. I would have been slightly nervous at the male competition so hats off to you.

Now I'm really going to bed ...

LoopyLa · 20/05/2011 04:03

Hey all, please excuse me my absence over the next few weeks.

You may notice the hour...I received some shite news yesterday from my sister & it's basically rocked the family. I don't know what to do or how to support her in the long term but don't want to post a separate message the legal bit yet (not that I have to at all but I think she will need some advice). We are a very close knit family as well so it's come as a major shock to everyone Sad

Sorry not ready to put down details but just so you're aware that I'll be lurking but might not be posting...

Take care peeps, in the meantime x

Littlefish · 20/05/2011 06:44

LoopyLa - so sorry to hear the news about your family. We are all here if you need somewhere to chat in peace, either about important things, or utterly banal things to take you mind off your situation.

Come back soon.

LolaLadybird · 20/05/2011 07:08

Sorry to hear about your bad news LoopyLa. Hope you manage to support your sister but look after yourself at the same time. Hopefully this thread will provide some light relief when you have a chance to lurk. Take care.

CareyFakes · 20/05/2011 08:08

Oh Loopyla sorry to hear about the shite news.

NoWayNoHow · 20/05/2011 08:43

Morning all

Again, a massive catch up! Does this thread ever stop moving??? Grin

loopy so sorry that your family is going through such a tough time. We're all here if you need to vent, or just need some cheering up. xx

vnmum I also can't remember being 9st - was definitely when I was 21 or so. I'm happy with 9st7lb, would probably be equally happy with 9st3 or 4, but nothing less I don't think. I have fine bones, but am VERY broad in shoulders, ribs and hips, so when I lose too much weight, I just look like someone's taken an ice cream scoop and hollowed out my front! Not pretty...

gemmummy I tend to have more carbs at lunch than at dinner so I normally have Ryvita with Extra Light Philly and cucumber, or a wrap/tortilla with grated, melted cheese, wafer thin ham and red peppers/salsa (sort of a makeshift pizza!).

loublou I'm also publunching on Sunday, feel your pain!

haughty I agree with others, just take it as it comes. Keep aiming for a next mini goal and as you reach each one, see how you feel and what you look like. You'll know if you're still uncomfortable and want more off, or if you have reached a point where any more will be too much.

JoJo can't wait to try your carbonara tonight - have all the ingredients on my shopping list! Going to do what you suggested and have half the sauce (3pp) and 50g pasta (5pp) - good meal for 8pp!

NewChoos welcome! I was also an "old school" WW follower, so I basically did a couple of meetings to get to grips with the new PP system and pick up all the gubbins that helps it work, and then signed up for WW online to follow it at home as that's what I did on the old system, and it worked fine for me. Not really a meetings person, I don't think!

benbon my faves are mini meringues (taste nicer than the nests, I find) - 2 for 1pp, Ryvita 1pp each, after eights 1pp each, chorizo only 2pp for snack size 30g, WW rich toffee bars 2pp (still can't get over how lush they are). And who can forget the good old butternut squash soup for the grand total of 0pp!!

IHeart well done on loss, Angry about lost post, I hate it when that happens!

Androbbob well done on your run!

Now, I'm not known for racking up the activity points, but I AM wondering whether I earn more cycling by virtue of the fact that my 15kg DS is on the back of the bike? Is that like me weighing an extra 33lbs, so I need to adjust the pp earned accordingly?

vnmum · 20/05/2011 09:43

iona well done on loss. And your kindle address is on your 'manage my kindle' page at amazon. you can also use your personal email to receive forwarded books and then send them to your kindle yourself or just transfer them by plugging kindle into computer.

loopy sorry to hear you've had bad news.

androbbob well done on completing the run. I think i may know where you ran around Wink. I'm off to docs again today to sort out my asthma and have asked DH to come out with me on the weekend while i try a run so hopefully i can get back on the program and actually finish it this time (only taken me 1y6m to get this far. Its only meant to take 9 weeks!)

I also have gym envy at hmc's photos

noway it seems we are a very similar build. I too have fine bones (i.e thin wrists) but have broad shoulders and hips. I have always said i could never be a 10 because of my hips.

good luck to anyone WI today

JoJoBaldwin · 20/05/2011 10:37

NewChoos Welcome, I hope you find it useful on here, we all do!
LoopyLa Sorry to hear your news - I used to be a CAB advisor if that's any help re information your sister might need? PM me if so.
NoWay like the sound of your pizza wrap!

Re meringue nests - stupid question alert. I see them in packs where they seem to be one meringue split in half iyswim. I can't figure out from the nutritional info whether to point for the whole meringue or each half. Logic decrees it's probably the half but I need to know for sure. Sounds like a great pudding. Is it 1pp per half? And what is nicest creamy-type topping? I'm thinking vanilla muller light topped with a chopped up after eight mint at the mo lol.

Another good tracking day yesterday and just eaten fruit this morning so far. Will be weighing in slightly later than yesterday though so don't know if that will affect result.

Did my measurements yesterday - lost 3 inches of waist since I started, but nothing off arms (which really need a loss) and nothing off legs and hips (which are ok compared to the rest of me - apple shape).

LoopyLa · 20/05/2011 12:06

Thanks for the support ladies, very much appreciated. Don't want to take over the thread in any way but the support makes a person feel stronger :)

Jojo that's really helpful to know & I may PM you in the near future when we know more details.

Have a good weekend all, thank you for caring x

(I shall, of course, NOT comfort eat in anyway but may partake in some comfort drinking - only to help out my sister of course Grin )

wizzler · 20/05/2011 12:27

Hope it goes ok Loopy.. you can always moan / rant or shout at us if it helps!

NoWayNoHow · 20/05/2011 12:35

JoJo I only get meringues from Tesco, and they either come in a tub of mini meringues (which are 1pp for 2) or as actual mini pavlovas (literally look like a nest with a sunken middle to hold the yumminess) and those are 1pp each. I don't know which ones you mean? Sorry I can't help more! Well done on inch loss - empathise with lack of arm movement - my measurements on my arm never change no matter how much I lose!

Loopy it would be wrong of you NOT to partake in comfort drinking to support sis Wink. Maybe just comfort drink spirits and diet mixers?? Grin

I've just bought size 28 jeans from H&M! The last time I bought size 28's was when I was still living at home with my parents (many many many moons ago)!!! Utterly ecstatic, I frikkin' LOVE WW.

Willabywallaby · 20/05/2011 12:56

Can't remember if I posted my 0.5lb gain on Wednesday. I've not been good so to be expected. Not had a great week so far, work cookery thing last night, fresh pasta! And ice cream for dessert. Out tonight and tomorrow, need to shift my arse and so some exercise to try and compensate.

Hope your sister's ok Loopy

Willabywallaby · 20/05/2011 13:00

And v Envy at your size 28s NoWay, I'm between a 12 and a 14 at the moment and not sure another 5lb will be enough to bring me down to a 12. Only time will tell... And better tracking!

mistlethrush · 20/05/2011 13:10

I have just gone down a trouser size too! Grin not bad in a month.

Works outing yesterday - I was ultra restrained. I ate the cherry tomatoes off the garnish for the canapees - I had mainly veg with a little bit of rice for lunch, couldn't have pudding (allergic to it anyway), ate some grapes off the cheese plate and took some sandwiches home for ds from the 'high tea' (he scoffed them in the car after after school club!). Supper somewhat fell off the waggon as ds took so long to sort himself out and get ready for bed - avoided snacks at book club but ended up having some kettle chip crisps when I got home Blush Should really have had some yoghurt and oats or somethign a bit more sensible.

I have to cut the lawn this weekend - its going to be more like silage making, so that should count for a few excercise points!

NoWayNoHow · 20/05/2011 13:27

willaby let's you and I both put our gains behind us! As long as we know where we went wrong (in my case, half a bottle of free wedding gin Blush) then we can rectify!

mistlethrush congrats on your size down. It's a great feeling, if a little hard on one's wallet!

mistlethrush · 20/05/2011 13:45

Not as bad as the £88 on two pairs of shoes for Ds!!!!Why does he have to have such big feet!!!

Am heading down into the 'will be able to fit into more existing clothes' range so getting to be more options, gradually!

vnmum · 20/05/2011 14:03

fab news about the jeans noway, i have 2 pairs of 30"waist levis in my wardrobe from when i was about 9st 7, many, many, many years ago and i will be shouting from the rooftops when they fit me comfortably. i can get themup but not fasten them at the mo because i am carrying my weight more around my middle than i used to.

mistle fab about going down a dress size
