gemmummy - I make a delicious courgette soup recipe. It sounds boring, but it really is lovely! It works out at 1 point per serving and I have it with a piece of crusty bread. Delicious!

gemmummy · 19/05/2011 11:51

can you freeze it littlefish? If so, I'd love the recipe!

Littlefish · 19/05/2011 11:55

I've never tried freezing it, but I can't see why not.

1 onion
1 oz (or less) butter
1 lb courgettes
750 ml (ish) veg stock.

Heat the butter (I put in less if I'm being good!)
Chop and fry the onion, stirring regularly so it doesn't go brown
Chop the courgettes and add them to the onion
Stir the courgettes and the onions together
Add the stock
Simmer gently for approx 20 mins
Blend until smooth.

It looks awful when it's just cooked, but as soon as you blend it, it turns a beautiful colour. It also tastes really, really creamy!

gemmummy · 19/05/2011 11:58

sounds nice, I might cook up a batch today so I will let you know how it goes.

froot · 19/05/2011 12:02

Not read all this thread yet (nor caught up on the last few pages of the old one) but quick post - lost 3 lb this week and wanted to add my mini goals and post a new breakfast I have been having - it's not as gross as it sounds..

1 egg, 3 egg whites from Twochicks egg carton (fab 15 egg whites 5 points)

Make ommelette, sprinkle with chilli flakes, dot over ketchup, roll up, wrap in tinfoil and eat at work later! Very filling and surprisingly nice cold.

loubloutwinmum · 19/05/2011 12:56

Just checking in and new thread is moving faster than ever.

JoJo & Noway - dinner for the in-laws went really really well! The asparagus, feta and mint starter was soooo nice - thanks. My fish linguini was really tasty and did a nice side salad and hot bread (which I resisted). Then I had meringues, berries and 0% greek with a dusting of icing sugar but forgot my FIL doesn't like meringue so knocked up a fairly healthy tiramasu!! Used fairly small glasses, put raspberries in bottom & drizzled with tia maria, then soaked some soft amaretti biscuits in coffee and a layer of them (2 biscuits), then WW thick cream, then repeat and a tiny bit of grated dark choc and sprinkling of cocoa powder on top. Was v v tasty & 7 PP each - which is high but great for dinner party!
JoJo - am going to try that pasta sauce though as sounds very tasty!
NoWay - sorry about the gain, new week now so keep going!
HMC - cannot believe what your leader said - you look amazing in your photo and 9 stone anything would be too thin! As Careyfakes said, I too am built like a brick shit house! I'm 5' 9" and at my lightest, when I was at Uni I was 10 & half stone, a size 8 - 10 & looked ill and strawny! My ideal weight is 11 1/2 and even at 12 I look slim and am a size 12 - so happy with that. We all weigh differently and I am "heavy". Glad you are sensible enough to ignore her but that sort of comment is really irresponsible!
Vnmum - well done on turning it around and losing 1/2lb - result.

I have a pub lunch out tomorrow and am out for lunch on Sunday too so not expecting to have a great week really! I am hoping I can chose a low point lunch tomorrow and then relax a bit on Sunday. Haven't touched my 49 points yet this week though!

Well done to anyone I have forgotten! Must get on with some jobs now!

loubloutwinmum · 19/05/2011 13:01

Gemmummy - Extra light phili is good for lunch - a tablespoon is only 1 point and nice on rice cakes or ryvita's with tomatoes on top or ham or gherkins! I often have a 0 point soup first, then this, then fruit salad and yoghurt.

Also, low fat feta cheese is great for making salad more tasty!

Filling up on some low point or no point soup first is a good idea. Hope you find something you like.

CareyFakes · 19/05/2011 14:17

The film is great hmc but then I'm biased as I adore Johnny, in whatever he does...bliss.

I'd love to be dainty, but I have to come to terms with the fact I am not, nor ever will be, a waif type girl who gets all the cuddles and ladylike lusts of others. I'm a big foot, and handed girl with big tits and some wicked hair. My shit houseness suits my personality Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/05/2011 15:00

wow you lot are fast typers Grin

well done on losers and comisseration on gainers x

HaughtyChuckle · 19/05/2011 16:02

well done on all losses sorry If I miss some out I find it hard to dechiper on some posts lol

*was talking to my mum today, I'm 5'9 built big, size 9 feet , G cup etc im a 20/22 atm
I said to my mum said I shouldn't be much less than a 16
I was like no I would eventually like to be a 10-12 and ahe was very adamant I was wrong
what do you all think?
I think even though its hard to get there with my built I think its good to aim I want to be able to wear a skirt/swim costume and not look huge. *

JoJoBaldwin · 19/05/2011 17:00

Well done on 3lb off froot!
You certainly don't look like a brick shithouse hmc lol.
gemmummy I had yummy lunch the other day of 4 low fat kallo rice cakes with half a tub of sweet philli philly (light). 5pp for the lot.

Today I had some veggie chilli with dollop of half fat creme fraiche (5pp).
Discovery wholemeal wrap with spicy roast bns and dollop of fat-free greek yoghurt (5pp)

Feeling very cross with myself as was going to try froot's prawn linguine tonight but forgot the sweet chilli philly when I was shopping. Am cheering myself up with bns chips for a snack while OH takes DD down the beach (bliss- peace and quiet for an hour or two!).

Was very naughty earlier and had WI a day early as I was passing Boots and felt the urge. After my weekend of vodka, bbqs and hangover food (was well over point allowance on friday sat, AND sun) I really needed to stay on track for the rest of the week. It's paid off and I've lost 2lb! Will weigh myself again tomorrow morning for the official result but very pleased today.

NewChoos · 19/05/2011 17:17

Hello,
Please can i join in? Have done ww before but not pp. I had a baby 7 weeks ago and ideally need to lose 2 stone (more really but want to be realistic!). Have been eating my baby's daily weight in chocolate and need to stop.
I am 5f4 and I weighed myself this am and I am 12 stone 5lbs Shock Am thinking of doing old points system as have the books etc and have done it a few times before.... or is pp much better? If so, will sign up online.
Does anyone know how many extra points I get for breast feeding?

Apologies for rambling (1st!) post, got feeding baby on lap :)

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 19/05/2011 17:30

newchoos you get 14 extra points for BF drops to 6 when start weaning. I have found pp much better than old ww, I started in Jan when DD2 was 6 or 7 weeks and have lost 51 lbs as of yesterday!

NewChoos · 19/05/2011 17:39

Thanks - if you have time could you briefly explain the difference with new pp system?
Well done on weight loss, that's so fantastic! What were you losing on average first few weeks (if you don't mind me asking)

HaughtyChuckle · 19/05/2011 19:00

sorry (I'm sue btw) dont think Ive said that

vnmum · 19/05/2011 19:06

well done froot on the loss and jojo on your sneak peak loss
welcome newchoos. The difference between pp and old points is the way the points are worked out. You now use protein, carb, total fat and fibre. some things have increased in points others have stayed the same. carbs seem to be higher in points. you get a minimum of 29 points per day, some people are on more, plus everyone gets an extra 49 points a week to use how they like (meals out, alcohol, treats etc). The daily points are use or lose plus you would get the extra 14 for BF on top of your daily points. Fruit is now 0 points. I have done both and i love propoints, it fits in with life so much easier than the old system and i got to goal mid feb this year.
If you decide to do PP, i would advise you either buy a calculator (you could go to a meeting to sign up, get the bumf, buy a calculator etc, then do from home if meetings don't suit you, you would only be paying 1 weeks fee then) or sign up online and get an app for your phone that works the points out for you.
HTH

I was wondering haughty Grin

HaughtyChuckle · 19/05/2011 19:14

Im surprised people did that when I changed before, didnt realise I have a 'posting style' feel 'speshal'Grin

sorry to repost need some feedback.

vnmum · 19/05/2011 19:20

haughty i would aim for what you want and along the way if you get to a stage where you look at yourself ans feel happy and want to stay there then do that, even if it is slightly bigger/heavier than you were aiming for. I think alot of us have a number we want to aim for that represents a time in our pasts but our bodies have changed with kids, age etc that it would be unrealistic to get to that number but we will look fab at maybe 7lbs heavier than our magic number IYSWIM, but we won't know until we get to a point where we say, I'm actually happy to stay at this weight.

I for example am aiming for 9st ideally but when i get to 9st 7 i might think that is far enough for me just based on how i look. I picked 9 st because that was when i was a size 10, 20 yr old, so it maybe unrealistic to be able to achieve that after 2 kids

benbon · 19/05/2011 19:22

not sure if this has already been done so sorry in advance if it has...
but maybe we could write down things that you have found to be suprisingly good points wise when you would think they would be high????

discovery plain flour tortillas : 3pts
curly wurly : 3 pts
twister mini ice creams : 1 pt
caramac ice cream bar : 3 pts
scampi fries :3 pts
asda white choc bubble bars : 4pts

obviously i seem to favour things that are bad for you!!!

HaughtyChuckle · 19/05/2011 19:27

yeah ISWYM

HaughtyChuckle · 19/05/2011 19:27

im off to my relatives 80th bash que lots of tempting treats jaws music

herdingcats · 19/05/2011 19:30

I can hardly get everyones posts read ,with the speed this thread is running at !Grin
I'm so tired tonight I was not hungry at all for tea, but made myself eat as I must stay on track.
Can't believe I spent 3 hours baking for the school cake sale and it made me lose my appetite .
A friend gave me a recipe for cakes that look like 99 ice creams, the kids will love them .
HC- I think you need to keep doing it until your happy. When you get to a 12-14, you can re-assess. You are tall ,but it all depends on your frame I think.
I am only 5'6" but also have rather lge norks (34FF). I reckon if I could lose some of that I would look miles slimmer, but they never shrinkAngry
I want to be a 12 ,I would feel normal then IYKWIM

HaughtyChuckle · 19/05/2011 19:51

I'll never be a lanky tall , I've noticed that Tall women are usually big or lanky not usually much inbetween, wish I was lanky grr not a hippo of a human being.

HaughtyChuckle · 19/05/2011 19:51

I think some mums have a habit of 'loose some weight''but don't get skinny' lol
