assumpta don't be dishearterned, a 1lb-1.5lb is a great loss.
When I was doing WW for the first time the plan was Discovery (2004). This later changed to Switch on which the points only element was PurePoints.

ProPoints while a similar concept, is different as the points calculation doesn't take calories and sat fat into account (rather protein, carbs, fat and fibre) therefore, for some food items the points are very different to the old plans.

I've juggled my weigh-in day from Monday to Friday following some of the earlier advice on here (weekends are my downfall) and whilst last Friday was another 0.5lb loss taking my total to 8.5lb in 3 weeks (less 3 days), I'm now desperately trying to get myself back on the rails after drinking my not insignificant body weight in champagne over the weekend. A great example of what not to do on WW.
I'll pop in Friday to share the bad news!

Good luck with the weigh-in SpringFollows

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/07/2011 17:58

Thanks Sheep. Waves to Blondes glad you enjoyed the holiday. :)

Well, i am THRILLED to report I have lost 1 pound. 10 stone 12. I have no idea how, as I am sure I do not 'deserve' it, but I am putting it down to keeping a more general eye on things.

And I signed up for a monthly pass which i hope will force me into taking it more seriously.

vnmum · 05/07/2011 18:43

well done spring and assumpta
Glad you enjoyed your holiday blondes

hmc · 05/07/2011 20:16

Well done on those losses Smile.

Commiserations Littlefish - but just stick with it and hopefully all your hard work will pay off big time next week with a proper, decent loss. Perhaps it was the scales...I have to weigh in at a different class tomorrow so I'll let you know whether I get a shock result. Also, do you eat little and often? - apparently eating small amounts regularly is very good for firing up the old metabolism...and maybe after 6 months of dieting your body needs a bit of a boost?

Yah! - blondes has been on holibobs! Glad you have a good time x

Friend phoned today who hadn't seen me for a few weeks. Her opening shot was asking if I was "still slim" - cheeky cow! Could it be that some people are just waiting for me to put it all back on again?!? - if so, they will be sadly disappointed - harrumph! Angry

wizzler · 05/07/2011 20:44

1 lb off for me.. Am finding these last few pounds really hard. I have been doing WW for six months now, and I think your Weight loss kind of plateaus, you just have to keep on the right track and slowly but surely it will work..

Littlefish, you have done fantasticaly well so far, do not be despondent!(sp?)

Blondes.. delighted to see you have had a break. Isn'tr the 8th a big day for you? Hope it all goes ok.

Well done Spring and Assumpta

hmc · 05/07/2011 21:36

Well done on the 1lb wizzler. I agree it gets harder to shift the pounds several months down track...for me personally however, I think it is because I am slacking a little bit and not nearly so disciplined as when I started out Blush

hmc · 05/07/2011 21:49

Am taking dh out for dinner tomorrow for his 100th birthday (well, almost - 48). Have managed to link to the menu, Which do you think are the most damage limitation options? I am thinking soup followed by trout?
ahhh what to order, what to order

Piffle · 05/07/2011 21:51

Hi everyone
I've been off the plot for a while put half of what I lost back on
Gently started pointing again today, upped the walking.
How's everyone doing?

IHeartIona · 05/07/2011 22:02

Hello all
Long time no post! I've just found out I'm pregnant though it is still early days so have cancelled my WW membership. Wondered why I was feeling dizzy and couldn't suddenly face eating the same lean meats etc! Bit sad I didn't quite reach goal but I was only 3 lbs away at my lowest. Have put on a couple of pounds. Good luck to you all in your weight loss journeys and I am sure I will keep reading.

hmc · 06/07/2011 06:17

Up at 5.30 this morning for no apparent reason! - will pay for it later.

Welcome back Piffle - had wondered where you had got to. Don't despair at regaining some of it, just good to see you back on that horse!

Lovely news IheartIona - many congrats

hmc · 06/07/2011 06:18

Meant to ask Piffle - how is your mum?

hmc · 06/07/2011 11:55

Been a bit quiet on here recently!

Have been to a different class this morning (can't make tonight) and have lost 1lb (cumulative 60lbs) so am now AT GOAL !!!!

Finally, phew!

androbbob · 06/07/2011 13:04

Well done hmc and also congrats to iona !!

Off today - supposed to be at sports day but it was cancelled. The rain was bad las night so the field would be wet but the sun is now out! Black clouds though.

Been to one gym class today and off to another in an hour! Glutton for punishment - both toning classes rather than cardio for a change!

Also cleaned the lounge carpet with the shampoo machine and now going to to ours before going out. Had a lovely text this morning - friend has had baby boy so off shopping for present after class - love a good baby shop!

Been really good today - fruit and yog for breakfast and soup, cheese and crackers for lunch - will have a banana after class to keep me going to tea time!

It is quiet on here - the lull before the summer hols!

vnmum · 06/07/2011 14:37

congratulations Iheart and well done wizzler

Massive congrats to hmc who now joins the gold members club.

with regards to the metabolism thing towards the end of your weight loss, i have found in the past that if my weight loss is stalling a bit, then if i go off plan for a week, i might gain or sts that week but then i have fab losses over the next 2 weeks as it seems to boost my body IYKWIM. This is just an experiment at the moment but i will find out if it works again over the last few weeks, as I have forgotten i was doing WW this week Blush

NorkyButNice · 06/07/2011 15:09

Congrats to those at goal or getting close to it!

I had my first weigh-in this morning and was disappointed to only lose 1.5lb - was hoping that I'd lose a bit more having made such a big change in my eating.

Might have to cut out those evening glasses of wine after all!

vnmum · 06/07/2011 16:27

norky a loss is a loss, try not to be too disheartened.
HMC from that menu I would probably go with the soup (providing its not too creamy), but no bread with it, and for main i would go with either the chicken or fish (the sauce with the chicken could be high points but the banana is free, the fish is pan fried so uses oil which is high in points so either would probably be ok), for dessert i would go with sorbet

wizzler · 06/07/2011 18:55

Congratulations Iheart

Well done hmc.. you got there. Wine

froot · 06/07/2011 19:53

hmc well done ! Fantastic achievement you must feel fab. You probably woke up so early due to the excitement of anticipating that weigh in !

Am in a strop as someone has farted around with my tv and deleted made in Chelsea before I have watched it grrrrrrrrr.......

froot · 06/07/2011 20:02

Ha just discovered it was the last episode last week !!

herdingcats · 06/07/2011 21:17

Back from WI and got a real surprise I have lost 3lb this week. Only another 6.5 to go until goal.
Also on a food note I found some really tasty frozen thai style fishcakes in Sainsbury's . They are packs of 4 and 2 work out at 5PP. Delicious with a big bowl of 0PP salad.

Collision · 06/07/2011 21:26

2.5lbs off this week.

Am really chuffed with myself.

This means 11lbs off in 4 weeks and 23 lbs in total.

5 weeks to holiday and am sure I can do another half stone.

Collision · 06/07/2011 21:31

Sardines in Tomato Sauce, how many points and how do I find out with esource?

androbbob · 06/07/2011 22:28

androbbob · 06/07/2011 22:30
