How is everyone this morning? I'm writing an essay which is always a danger period for me; seems to make me hungrier - reckon its the boredom.

Sorry Debs - meant to say yesterday it was good to hear from you, and am really pleased pregnancy is going well Smile

WI for me tonight - I think quite a few of us weigh in on Wednesday don't we? Good luck on the scales any Wednesday weighers!

BartletForAmerica · 29/06/2011 10:03

I was up at 6 with the baby so have done the Shredding for today and am glad to see the sunshine.

Hope the essay writing goes well, hmc.

debs, congratulations! Between here and the TTC while BFing thread, I hope to head in the same direction soon.

hmc · 29/06/2011 10:05

Shredded before 10am - that's impressive!

BartletForAmerica · 29/06/2011 10:08

I do it while my DH and DS are having breakfast - gets it done and out of the way, then I have a nice shower and forget about it.

hmc · 29/06/2011 11:02

Well time for a break from the mind bending study - off to do some exercise myself now....

PrettyMeerkat · 29/06/2011 12:38

vnmum I think that WW is fairly carb light anyway isn't it? I have no carbs for lunch at the moment and am generally not eating much bread or pasta. I try to drink water, I'll pay more attention to that.

BartletForAmerica I tend to work out set meals and stick with what PP I worked out for a while and then check in again some time later just in case, as I have made mistakes before. I think I am working everything out right.

wizzler Well I could go to a meeting but I reached Goal before so could stop paying (was paying each week) so don't want to go until I've lost a bit in case they say I have to pay and I can't afford it. It's a bit of a catch22.

What's Shredding?

wrongdecade · 29/06/2011 23:33

Hi all congrats debs

I'm quite chuffed I've ben on hols and ate whatever I wanted , I went with good intebntions then thought..I'm on holiday I can rectify when I come back, couldnt get weighed wehn I returned due to family stuff and to my shock i managed to ,loose 2lbs :)

I wouldnt have been happy to maintain after all the junk I had on hols lol

that 16.5 lbs so far I've lost :)

NoWayNoHow · 30/06/2011 07:56

Hi all

Sorry I've not been on this week, but it's taking me some time to adjust to full time working again, and the impact it has on my hours outside of work too! (this is the 2nd day this week that I've forgotten to make my lunch the night before and have run out of time in the morning).

Anway, I promise I will try to catch up on the thread this weekend, but just wanted to report 2lbs off for this week's WI. Absolutely NO idea how I did that, feel like I've been eating more than I did before I started working, and the fact that it's TOTM at the mo too makes it even more surprising. So, that takes me to a new low of 9st6.5lbs which is 1st2lbs off since Jan, and 2st7.5 off in total.

froot · 30/06/2011 08:41

assumpta diet ginger ale with a splash of apple juice is nice or diet tonic with grapefruit juice . My alcoholic favourite is diet ginger beer with vodka and fresh lime juice -zest too if you can be bothered !( Moscow mule) HTH

froot · 30/06/2011 08:53

Shredding is a lethal but effective exercise DVD that many of us on here swear by ( jillian michaels we worship you ) ! It's bloody hard but only 25 mins long including warm up n cool Down . 3 mins strength training 2 mins cardio 1 min abs times three . I did level 1 ten times level 2 ten times level 3 ten times (made a chart and crossed it off each time I did it ) and now I alternate level 2 n 3 . I can honestly say I have never been fitter and have never had such good abs ( at least a two pack maybe even 4!) I do it about 3-4 times a week can't fit in exercise every day . Its called 30 day shred and you can get it for about a fiver . You also need hand weights (2 lb for a beginner I wd suggest ) and a mat . Prepare to ache like buggery to begin with!!!

froot · 30/06/2011 08:55

Will just add that it is meant to raise your resting metabolic rate ( builds some muscle ) as well as getting you fitter and more shapely

herdingcats · 30/06/2011 10:20

Hi all quick pop in to report 0.5lb loss at WI this week. I was surprised to say the least ,as I expected a gain.
Will try to read through later ,but off for my back operation review so don't hold out much hope.

vnmum · 30/06/2011 10:25

Littlefish · 30/06/2011 12:23

Please can I ask for some kind words, alternating with kicks up the arse!

I stayed the same this week. I knew I was going to either put on, or stay the same. I had prepared myself for it mentally. However, I'm really strugggling now. I'm tracking carefully this week, and trying to cook and eat delicious, but appropriately pointed food so that I have a positive focus for my eating. Inside, I am churning. I'm already worried that I won't lose weight next week and that it will start the process of falling off the wagon.

I know that I should just get on with it and wait and see what happens, but I'm wishing this week away just to put myself out of my misery.

I need to lose 4.5lbs to get me to a 4 stone loss. I am desperate to do it. It is my half way point and I want to get there so I'll be on the downward slope (if you see what I mean). It seems such a long way away at the moment. At the same time, I've been so proud of the way I've managed not to fixate on goals, and just take each day as it comes. Aaaaaaaaaaargh!

NorkyButNice · 30/06/2011 13:29

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

I had my first meeting yesterday - weighed in at a horrible 16st 10.5lb!

Have stocked up on fruit and am drinking lots of water - feeling very motivated at the moment, long may it last!

As for this Shred DVD, is a very unfit and overweight wobbly lump going to be able to do it?

Korma - your first two week's losses were immense. There is no way that that was ever going to continue.

1lb loss is great. If you lose 1lb a week, it will be 4stone in a year. That's a huge amount of weight. How much do you want to lose in total?

You should be aiming for between 0.5lbs and 2lbs loss per week. 1lb is fab!

Korma - I do know what you mean. You need to see this as a long term thing. It's not a quick fix. I've been doing it since October and have lost steadily - between half a pound and 2 lbs a week. I've lost nearly 4 stone so far. At same rate, by March next year, you will be only 1 stone off your goal weight, and more than that, hopefully, will have changed your eating habits for good. (Bloody hell, I need to listen to my own advice! Grin)

I know it feels like an impossible journey at the beginning. I found that it got easier to face after I'd lost my first stone. Somehow it felt more real, if you see what I mean.

I'm coming up your way in a few weeks (to the place that sounds like Mme Cholet, Uncle Bulgaria and Orinoco) - do you fancy meeting up for a quick coffee/diet coke?

Well even though the scales aren't registering a loss yet (crap unreliable scales that give a different weight everytime you step on them even if it's only been 30 seconds between weigh-ins), my tummy is feeling really flat and my waist really slender (compared to usual anyway). AND I got a compliment today, that I was looking very slim! So chuffed! A couple of weeks ago I had a bloated belly and my waist had disappeared!

Now all I've got to do is lose the arm celulite and fat at the top of my thighs that makes them chafe!

Littlefish · 30/06/2011 15:38

I have pm'd you.

Furball · 30/06/2011 16:14

Littlefish! - Big picture, remember! look at the big picture.

You have done yourself completely proud so far, you have lost nearly every week and even managed to stay the same after coming back from a completely indulgent exotic holiday. Envy

You can do this and we know you can. small steps, small steps and one day you will be there. You are proof of that so far.

You are an inspiration to all, so............don't be scared of the scales - they should be scared of you!

(thats actually quite a good saying I've just made up!!)

you are doing an AMAZING JOB there aren't many long term losers who have kept the determination and focus up and I give you total respect.

and and and ......I can't wait to see you tomorrow - I bet you look FANTASTIC!

benbon · 30/06/2011 18:03
