You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

mummynoseynora · 23/05/2011 19:27

welcome back only - I don't know where the forest of dean is but I know its mentioned in the harry potter books... did you see any ancient swords lying at the bottom of ponds?

boooooo to the wind ... and your day tomorrow sounds... well, awful frankly!!! save thee some sins for a cheeky vino Wink

Onlyaphase · 23/05/2011 20:23

No ancient swords sadly - that'll be Puzzlewood you've heard of in the Forest of Dean, reputed to be where Tolkien got his ideas from regarding woodland folk. Apparently a fair bit of Merlin was filmed there recently too. Lovely place.

Someone mentioned Bodybalance classes recently on this thread...are these the mix of pilates/yoga/thai chi wotsits classes? I used to love those. Wonder if anyone does them round here in the Rurals.

mummynoseynora · 23/05/2011 20:59

Have just shredded for the first time since about february! Grin

on the good side, it wasn't TOO bad.... think I'll be back up to level 2 in no time... thinking of aiming for 3 x run a week and 3 x shred.... but IS it doable????

Cheeseandbiscuits · 23/05/2011 23:20

Only - glad u had a lovely break. Sorry to hear bout your bootiful garden, hope the wind dies down

nora well done on shredding tonight! That's a lot of exercise, careful you don't injure yourself.

Made SW pesto sauce. Was acshooly alright! Was quite surprised. Oh, and DH said I'm looking a bit thinner. Yay! Though he's very lovely and was prob just being kind or hoping for some action laters

right off to bedfordshire. Sweet dreams all

AlpinePony · 24/05/2011 06:03

I drove through the Forest of Dean a few months ago en route to my parents' place which I'd never been to before and I'd not been to the area in 12 years. Stupidly I put on the satnav rather than er... trusting the fucking roads I know (Obv. should've checked a map after 12 years away) and ended up seeing a couple of castles I'd never seen. Drove down little Welsh roads (once popping out the other end) barely wider than my car so the fact that my steering wheel is on the wrong side was redundant. Hmm Grate tymes.

onlyaphase That's yer man. I am very impressed, yesterday lunchtime the DOMS kicked in (that's Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness for you exercise-phobes! Wink) - and I've not had pain like this in my abs since my c-section. Grin It's worked muscles really low down which is great. I'm definitely going back on Sunday, I'd planned to go on Friday after my Body Pump class but rudely I have a meeting with my manager and development head so I expect to get raked over the coals about something. How fucking dare they intrude on my gym morning? Grrrrrrr. Wink

mummynosey Pls to tell more of mythical shred? I love, love, love Jillian Michaels y'see. But cannot run for toffee.

My eating hasn't been going that well, well, that's semantics really - I'm eating GREAT - shovelling it in. Blush Fear tomorrow may be a write-off.

mummynoseynora · 24/05/2011 08:32

cheese I really wouldn't worry ... its not more than half an hour a day really! :)

Pony (or Alpine... I can't decide)
Its called the 30 day shred. there are 3 workouts on the dvd... each a different level. You start on the first one and once you can do that fairly comfortably, up to the next etc. its 20 mins a session and like circuit training... 3 mins strength, 2 mins cardio, 1 min abs then times that by 3. Each circuit is different and the intensity is HIGH pretty much the whole time - I love it! The first time I did it I couldn't walk when I finished - I did two weeks of it every day then, didn't lose any weight - but lost something like 3 inches from tum / 2 from each thigh / 1 from boobs etc etc - it was an obvious loss.

today is the day for my lunchbreak run - I am feeling fine after shredding last night (for the first few days DOMS normally kills me) so looking forward to it! eeeek

Cheeseandbiscuits · 24/05/2011 08:38

Morning fellow slimmers!

Had a rough night with dd but figure I would have burnt more calories being awake than asleep! Ha. Off to mum and baby yoga this am, not sure what it will be like.
Well done fish on job!
Today's food:
b: fruit and yog
l: couscous mackerel and salad
d: king prawn stirfry
snack: 2x alpen light (heb), fruit, skim milk for tea and coffee (hea)

Out with antenatal girls this pm. Must not eat cake!

Have a good day all!

BlooferLady · 24/05/2011 08:53

Only Sad about your garden - though it sounds as if you have a charming indoor grotto to show for it!

Are you all right to compile tomorrow's Big Fat List, m'dear? It sounds as if you have rather a lot on...

Well done on the shredding, Nora...I am inspired. I've not done much gymming of late (I am still sulking that I gained weight in the weeks I went practically every day) but you are prompting me to wonder where the bejeezus my trainers are...

Sorry about your rough night Cheese ... next time you're up maybe you could do so press-ups too please, really get those calories shifted, thanks ... Grin

Well now. Last day to repair damage done at the weekend. It would help if I could do a bloody shit! Not an actual bloody one, those are scary. I ate a plateful of al dente puy lentils last night. That stuff ought to be coming out like buckshot any moment now.

I'm doing RED today -

B - yogurt, banana, grapes, All bran (HEB)
L - grilled chicken, pea and edamame salad, orange, diet coke
D - baked salmon, butternut squash, courgettes, stewed apple and yogurt (HEB) (2 syns in the honey)

I shall prolly have my HEA cheese and some grapes as a snack when I come in from a long weary day in the office emailing my pals and reading MN

While bouncing dd I did some squats! Apparently the up down motion is more sleep inducing than the traditional sway. Funny little thing, bless her!

mummynoseynora · 24/05/2011 09:19

both my kids liked being held whilst we did squats! very funny at the time Grin

glad to hear I am inspiring you bloof.... dig out those trainers !!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 24/05/2011 09:54

I didn't do terribly well yesterday. Breakfast and lunch were OK - I was at my knitting group and had a slice of toast for breakfast, and some spicy lentil and tomato soup for lunch - and I ate the soup slowly, and stopped when I had had enough. But the afternoon was not so good - I had some tortilla chips and some biscuits, and then rhubarb crumble after tea. At least tea was a salad.

It was blowing a gale round the house yesterday, and I felt really on edge because of it, and I think that's why I ate snacks I didn't need. I need a better way to cope with negative emotions.

Today I've had weetabix for breakfast, but I have no idea about lunch or supper. I had a list of the week's suppers, but it has gone missing. It could be teriyaki chicken kebabs (if I defrost the chicken) or fish pie (if I defrost the fish). I don't think there's anything meat-wise, that's not in the freezer. I could go and buy some more chicken.......

obrigada · 24/05/2011 10:15

What is about the day of your weigh in that you always feel fatter ... or is it just me??

mummynoseynora · 24/05/2011 11:09

I have been given a bit of birthday cake at work... Normally I would eat it without thinking but instead I took the icing off as I never like that, then had one nibble and thought... I am not actually hungry, do I want this??? So have now binned it !

Thats one thing doing this helps with, not finishing something 'because its there'

Keep plugging away stdg, small changes can make a big difference

Obrigada ... I know that feeling! Thats why no more weekly weigh in here!!

grinningbee · 24/05/2011 11:34

Dh has told me that we are starting the diet a week today, as he wants the bank holiday weekend out of the way first.

Hmmm, not quite the start I envisaged when I joined online yesterday! We do still have easter choc in the house that needs eating, but I was hoping to start sooner. Hey ho. Won't stop me meal planning though. Quick question - does extra easy really work? I was always a red or green day person before - seems too good to be true!

weblette · 24/05/2011 12:05

Best of luck folks! I'm off at 1pm and taking my best mate with me - in a rush of blood to our collective heads we've decide to run our village's 10k run in September - well, get round it at least...

weblette · 24/05/2011 12:08

Bee - EE is fab, I find it much much easier than original or green. I did have a really good read of the book before I started and that helped tremendously. I've been doing it two weeks and have lost half a stone so far, am hoping for a chunk off today!

Hedgepig · 24/05/2011 12:17

grinningbee I've lost nearly 2 stone so far on the extra easy plan so it works for me Smile. It's the 1st time I have done SW so I have never done green or red, I suspect I will need to mix/change things to loose my next 2stone so may try the other plan if I stop loosing on Extra easy.

Cheese and Nora I'm grinning at the vision of doing squats while holding a LO I'm sure I would have dropped DS.

Ooo Lunch time, I have home made soup but I am starving so I will get an omelet from the canteen too (will be a bit fatty but better to fill up on that rather than chocolate later)

Staying you did really well for 1/2 of the day and are concision of what you have eaten so that is a great start , maybe try and have some chopped up carrots, apple, or grapes ready for the munchies later on this afternoon.

obrigada · 24/05/2011 14:07

Weblette please share your secret for losing half a stone in two weeks on EE Envy
Hedgepig how long did it take you to lose the two stone on EE? Envy

Hedgepig · 24/05/2011 14:34

Obrigada I joined SW at the end of Feb so its about 3 months, 1st week I lost 8lb Shock but that was a one off, I've steadily been loosing 1-2 lb a week since.

obrigada · 24/05/2011 14:49

Well done Hedgepig, I am impressed! Not sure I have got the hang of EE yet but will keep trying Hmm

weblette · 24/05/2011 15:35

I'm grinnier than a grinny thing, 4lbs off!! Grin Grin Grin

Obrigada - I'm trying to eat as close to plan as poss, have really reduced alcohol and bread and eat tons of fruit when I get the nibbles.

Well done Hedgepig

Another one with a v funny mental image Cheese Grin - I'd break my back doing that with my littlest!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 24/05/2011 17:44

Hello hello. Had a lovely day with DD, she's been gorgeous today. Mum and baby yoga was fun and we've also had an hour long walk. Spooky her in the shops - better hide the bags from DH!

She loves the up down motion. We did it today in yoga and she was giggling away. I'll have thighs of steel soon. Just picture it; 2am and I'm there in my scabby pjs squatting with a little one in my arms in the dark tehe.

Will catch up with fred later

Muser · 24/05/2011 18:00

Well done weblette, inspiring stuff.

I am all signed up with SW online, ready to start tomorrow. I had a farewell caramel frappucino in Starbucks. Back to tea for me.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 24/05/2011 19:04

web that's awesome you may get to be our slimmer of the week

obrigada it's dead easy. And I'm losing weight on it too. I just watch my portion size of the carbs that are free. And fill up on veg etc.

hedgepig that's amazing well done you

muser very jealous of your fancy coffee

Onlyaphase · 24/05/2011 21:40

Don't forget to PM me your stats tomorrow for the List of Doom.

Not feeling optimistic here - feeling very jealous of Weblettes fabulous weightloss and think I need to get me some of that focus. I did have root canal work on my poor tooth today and so am now in so much pain from a bruised tooth socket that I won't eat even though starving, but one night of this isn't going to redeem me from the last week of overeating.

Just wondered - does anyone else have dodgy teeth? I think there might be a correlation between having eaten too much food and having teeth that suffer for it.
