JoJo - hope you're feeling better this morning. Indigestion is horrible.

Spring - good luck with your 'good day'.

Vanimal - I would second lots of fruit (bananas obviously particularly filling) and maybe a cereal bar. Also, the large station may well have one of those bagel outlets. If you went for one with low fat soft cheese it wouldn't be too bad. I know what you mean about feeling the need to stay in control so early on. Good luck - I had a day in London last week and it really derailed the diet, I ate breakfast at 5.45 am (was travelling in from Somerset) so felt like it was lunchtime by the time I rocked up at the conference at just gone 9.00 am - clearly I was then powerless to resist the little mini pastries being served with coffee! Hope your day goes better than mine!

I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet with a cup of tea before the DC's get up (usually up before now so this is a rare treat) and the day gets going in all it's usual chaos.

tiredemma · 16/05/2011 07:04

adding my goal- 8st 11lb by end of June!!!

JoJoBaldwin · 16/05/2011 07:48

Managed to get a couple of hours sleep before madam woke me at 6.30. Gosh, that was horrible. Will teach me to be a greedy guts! I couldn't even sit down for an hour, had to pace around the room. Serious detox today - actually have some weird Nelsons detox tincture I won last week so think I shall start taking that every day and see what effect it has.

Melon and grapes for breakfast then loads of water.

Stay on track today ladies!

CareyFakes · 16/05/2011 07:57

Morning ladies, I too was up at 3am talking on the phone Blush so my own fault.

Glad you got some sleep JoJo and Spring. Good luck with the WI.

A nice ham wrap or something is great for lunch, lots of fresh fruit and a cereal bar should keep you going.

I have an exam at 2pm, should've revised but didn't, I'll wing it.

gemmummy · 16/05/2011 07:57

Hello all. Thought I'd report in. I've done 3 days on PP so far and I've been really pleased, I don't feel hungry at all like I did when I was on Sainsburys Diets (that was a calorie counting one with no free stuff to fill you up). I had a proper roast dinner for lunch yesterday, just weighed out all my portions. Planning on going for a run today, it's been a few months since I did any exercise due to a knee injury so I'll be starting very slow but I have a great run walk plan by paula radcliffe which I got out of the paper a few weeks ago. 0 to 5km in 8 weeks so we'll see how I get on today. Anyway, hope you all have a good day!

herdingcats · 16/05/2011 09:25

Morning all , looks like I will STS this week. I probably derailed myself last night eating 37PP yesterday Sad
I was bored last night as DH went to do some skydive training at a wind tunnel, he competes in a team ( totally mad)
gemmummy- are you the lady off forces sweethearts , thought I knew your name? Smile

Littlefish · 16/05/2011 09:55

Heeeeeeeelp!

Once again I need your help ladies. Having just posted my mini-goal as "lose half a stone by end of June, I've just realised that it's practically impossible to do.

We're off on holiday at the end of May for 2 weeks, to a beautiful all-inclusive place in the Caribbean Grin Grin Grin Grin.

I am ridiculously excited!

However, I'm very worried about piling on weight while we are away. I've never done an all-inclusive holiday before - any top tips, apart from staying away from the ice-cream and alcohol?

I would like to stay the same over the two weeks, but know that this is a tall order.

gemmummy · 16/05/2011 10:38

herdingcats yes i am off the forces threads too! Not been over there for a while though!

vnmum · 16/05/2011 10:48

morning all, I too got abit derailed over the weekend. I made cakes for the kids and to take some to DH at work and 4 jumped in my mouth over the whole day, plus the licking of cake mix bowl [embarrassed]. So I am doing no point soup and salad for the next few days in the slightest hope of having a loss this week.
herding and gemmummy are you both connected to the forces? looks like i am in good company Smile

NoWayNoHow · 16/05/2011 11:15

Hey all

Sorry I can't catch up from Thurs, but it's just too fast. I think from scanning I can see a couple of newbies, so WELCOME!

Well, I think we can safely assume that I'm no longer at goal after the weekend away. Went to a wedding, ate so much delicious food and drank VAST amounts of bubbles, wine and cocktails. At the least the food was fairly carb light and protein heavy, so hopefully I won't have done serious damage. Going to try to be good for the rest of the week till Thurs WI and see if I can limit gain to a lb or two.

Hope you're all doing okay, will try read thread later tonight.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/05/2011 11:45

bad noway but as long as you had fun

carey good luck with exam xx

Hi, I'm jumping in. Joined WW online a few days ago to lose this last stone, the points thing was more complicated than I first thought but I'm getting the hang of it ok.

So far I have been tweaking my evening family meals for less points and eating porriage and fruit for breakfast (which fills me up) and then eating something like an egg salad sandwich for lunch. Today I have taken into work a cooked pasta veggie thing I got out of the WW magazine this month.

I think my biggest downfall is not drinking enough water and lack of excercise, I think the food bit is ok.

herdingcats · 16/05/2011 13:51

vnmum- yes I'm connected to forces, Dh RAF. Whats your connection? Smile
NoWay- you may be surprised this week, keep positive.
Pinkglow- welcome, I think it is true about the water. When I don't drink enough I am bloated and feel sluggish .

mistlethrush · 16/05/2011 13:56

I'm a tea addict - so no one can accuse me of not drinking enough - luckily its the very weak (wave a teabag at a great distance) black variety so don't have to count points and not ODing on caffeine either.... (Just mentally totted up that I've had 4 pints so far Blush)

Don't know how I've done this week - had a couple of evenings where I didn't use all minimum points because I just cba to get anything - and then weekend away and needing to be able to function reasonably well so ate a little bit more carbs than I'm trying to normally...

vnmum · 16/05/2011 14:06

herding DH is army
welcome pinkglow

loubloutwinmum · 16/05/2011 15:07

Hi Ladies,

Lost 1 lb this week so very happy as now 1/2lb under my goal weight and am aiming to lose a few more lbs if possible.

Littlefish my recent holiday was an all inclusive but only for a week but I only put on 1/2 lb and I did not in anyway step away from the alcohol or the ice cream bar!! I didn't snack between meals at all & drank lots of water but ate exactly what I wanted but was fairly active with my kids in the pool and a few walks. So no real advice but just wanted to say not to stress too much and enjoy yourself as it is your holiday & you want to make the most of it. I just thought, if I put a few pounds on, I know now that I have the skills & knowledge to shift them again!

NoWay hope your way in is better than you are expecting.

Lovely to see so many new people on this thread - stick with PP it really does work.

I went shopping yesterday with my girlfriends and got some lovely underwear - buying knickers in a size 12 was so satisfying and they are so pretty! Also treated myself to some new make up! We then ended up in Pizza Express so had some lovely food and a large glass of wine too. Zumba again tonight - have stepped up to twice a week now. How many activity points do others put in for an hour of Zumba? Just wondering??

Vnmum I have been tracking still even though I am on maintenance but am slowly training my brain to realistically point food without looking everything little thing up. I mean realistically point and not convince myself that a slice chocolate fudge cake is only 3 points but recognise that it is at least 10 points. Then if I chose to eat it (which I did yesterday) I have to adjust my eating for the remainder of the day or week to compensate! I am getting better at judging whole meals - I have been cooking meals and then working out what I think the points are for my portion but then working it out properly afterwards to double check. SO far I have been within 1 PP so it seems to be working!

Anyway, good luck with WI's this week - will follow everyone's progress with interest.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/05/2011 15:34

welcome pinkglow

im kinda maintaining - kinda in limbo tbh

everyone keeps saying ive lost so much weight in the last month but scales say different, im def losing inches though

HighHeidYin · 16/05/2011 18:26

Evening all.

jojo glad it's not only me who overdid it on the vodka Blush Hope you are well over it by now.

herding thanks Smile Haven't seen him today but will phone mum for an update tonight.

lou yaay on your loss - and to all you other successful losers too!

Went to step and tone this morning and did the gym induction. Ran for all of 5 minutes on the treadmill before going to step class. Think I am going to change that class though as am not finding it as challanging as the rest. My cheeks only look rosy afterwards, not like my head is going to explode like it does with the others. Considering going to zumba tonight at 8....

vnmum · 16/05/2011 19:30

loblout that is how i hope to maintain in the longterm (brain training). At the moment i am looking at losing a bit more so i am well under my goal weight, plus i have a function with DH work to attend in july and i have always been the fat one at these in the past so this time i am determined to be a slim wife. I just wish i could get my asthma under control so i can start exercising again. I am seriously thinking there is something in this new house that is causing it TBH as it has got worse since i moved here in feb

wizzler · 16/05/2011 20:30

Well done Loulou,
Welcome Pinkglow,
Noway.. did you look fab in your new dress.. are you going to post us a photo to gawp at ?

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/05/2011 20:39

HHY go girl, you are getting into the exercise!!!

OP posts:
hoops997 · 16/05/2011 21:28

Just done day 4 of the 30 day shred, also walked 8,000 steps today, if I don't get a good weight loss this week then there's something wrong!, does anyone not bother to count their activity points, just CBA to work them out!

hello to everyone, hope everyone is tracking to within an inch of their lives Grin

LolaLadybird · 16/05/2011 21:47

Loublou - I put in 6 points for an hour of zumba. It didn't come up on e-source but I looked at aerobics and a couple of different types of dancing (salsa and disco) and all said 1 point for every 10 minutes.

I'm hoping to zumba on Weds eve however I seem to have horrible cold coming which might slightly interfere with exercise plans. Hope not as I do rather rely on earning activity points to keep weight-loss going.

Due to WI tomorrow but not sure I'll be able to make it. Also not that bothered as a sneaky peak at the scales has revealed I've probably STS so I'm kind of reluctant to drive a 15 mile round trip with DS in tow just to have that confirmed. Think I might be better taking the time to plan out low-point meals for the rest of the week and then shop for whatever I need. Have had a busy week of socialising hence the STS but am ready to crack on again from tomorrow (esp now the end of June mini-target is lurking in the background!)

Going to go and look at some WW recipes, as well as some further back on this thread, for inspiration ...

SpringFollows · 17/05/2011 06:29

Morning all,

can't get to WI tonight but a sneaky peak at the scales seems to indicate I may have lost 1.5 pounds- which considering i got derailed a couple of times I am very happy with!

This week- I will track track track and keep to the 29 points! I have been using my activity points (usually 5-6 a day) for wine, so regularly going over. NOT this week!

I have come to the conclusion that i am not going to be skinny minny for the family function in 2 weeks time, but I may have lost a BIT. And, we have another family 'do' in August- if I stick to a slow but steady weightloss I may be at goal!

Any ideas for a protein heavy breakfast (vegetarian)? I have been overdosing on ww baked beans and eggs lately and looking for a change.

Thanks!

JoJoBaldwin · 17/05/2011 09:08

Well done on the losses Spring and lou!

How about quorn sausage and a couple of fried eggs (in frylight) Spring. Oh, not eggs lol.
Um, scrambled tofu, mushrooms, quorn bacon rashers, handful of savoury seeds/nuts?

Got back on track yesterday, though didn't eat nearly enough veg so tummy still feels a bit hard and bloated. Had things like rice cakes and hummus for lunch, also a couple of rich tea biscuits and my new fave of waitrose cassava crisps (2pp). Had salad for dinner for fear indegestion starting up again! No exercise yesterday as went to visit a friend, so today have lots of walking planned and hopefully a JustDance boogie before i go out.

Bit down today - minor blowup with OH before he went to work. Just getting really concerned about what he's doing to his health and he seems to be showing no sign of getting to grips with it/growing up. Drinks far too much and no exercise - musty have put on a couple of stone in the last couple of years and he was heavy before that so must be at 18-19 stone now. He's an intelligent man and lovely in every way but i just can't comprehend how he is not worried about the consequences? I'm paranoid about my health now I'm turning 40 and we have a young child so that's a major motivator in trying to get weight under control (as well as vanity). On our summer holiday he'll be too self-conscious to get in the pool so he'll be missing out on fun stuff with the kid too.

I once before took a note of his weekly units over an average of a month which was quiet socially and i'm sure it worked out about 60 per week (so obviously far more when it's party time!) Decided to do the same again starting last sunday and he's already gone through 22 (the recommended maximum for the week).

I just don't at all know how to address this with him, he's in complete denial and just gets very cross. So it just slips out in a series of "nags". This morning he said a nice thing - "thankyou for looking after * so well" to which I responded "Well who else will do it once you've succumbed to liver failure or a heart attack?". Which wasn't really a nice send-off to work! Lol. And it's difficult addressing his weight because I know well enough how horrible it is to have someone say to you how much weight you've put on and I don't want to make him feel crap.

Aaaargh! Sorry ladies, just needed to vent!
