Welcome one and all to our 6th thread

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! ) Grin and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering! :)

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week.

So far we have lost an amazing 147 lbs since jan 2011 Shock

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in - pour yourself a Wine or Brew and make yourself at home :)

androbob well done for not letting the gain get you down.

My walk yesterday didn't go as planned because it was so cold and windy we started getting headaches after 5 mins. So turned back and just had a wander round town for a bit before getting a cab Blush

On the upside I refused a bag of chips on the seafront, AND an icecream, and didn't even feel hard done by.

The evening was a bbq party - food wasn't too bad for points. Baked potato, salad, corn on the cob and ratatouille. For pudding I had half a donut. Then half a bottle of vodka. Not sure what that is points-wise.

Had melon and grapes for brekkie instead of traditional egg and chips hangover fare so all-in-all not too bad for a blow-out.

androbbob hows the C25K going?
I haven't been able to run for knocking on 5 weeks now because I got a cold on top of my chest infection, thanks to DS bringing his germs home. It's actually quite disheartening, i have been trying to complete C25K since Jan 2010 but every time i get a cold i have to take 3 or 4 weeks off until my chest clears then have to start back a week behind. I had got the furtherest i ever had this time and am itching to get back doing it but docs say if i run while my chest is bad i can make it worse. I am determined i will complete it though.

I, like you, seem to put the weight back on easily if i stop tracking so i have accepted i will have to do it for life. I too have got rid of my bigger clothes so that my current ones act as a self limiting device, if they start to get too tight i can't just dig out some bigger ones, i have to get back on track and lose what i have put on.

Are saturday mornings ok for meetings for you? There is one at 10am on saturdays in the place where i used to live near you. I also find it harder to do it alone at home, there is something about WI for someone else that keeps you on track

vnmum- that is a good idea about the sweetener, but I don't but it as no-one in this house takes sugar in their cuppa's apart from me ,and I only have 1 per day. also I hate vanilla so would never use that .

herding I'm 12st 8lb at the mo - so how about a mini-target of reaching 12 stone in 2 WIs time? Bit ambitious for me perhaps but won't do me any harm to try!

Thanks again for your lovely messages. HeyH0 - that's great to know. Really encouraging.

blondes I do think it's better he doesn't know at the moment as he is not coping very well with it all atm. However the doctor will be speaking to him tomorrow about chemo so I imagine mum will tell him today.

I have been shockingly bad. Drank waaay too much vodka last night and had a huge cooked brekkie/lunch. So all my weeklys have evaporated. Need to be extra good for the rest of the week and get down the gym as much as possible to try and alleviate the damage...

i dont have a mini goal, as im at goal, though part of me stil wants to lose another 7 lbs, but im losing inches rather than lbs at the moment - clothes are lose :(

weigh in not till tuesday morning, but im dreading it already!!

does any one know what the shred dvd earns you in activity points??? did level 1 with warm up/down??

hoping it might counteract the perty nibbles i consumed last night!!!
if i dont lose 2lbs this week ill be annoyed as that is my weekly goal and i didnt manage it last week!

Benbon According to my heart rate monitor I burn less than 300 calories on level one. (Usually 260-280) The majority of folk that frequent the exercise boards on the WW site seem to work on 1 AP = 80 calories.

Hi,

Can I ask you lovely ladies for some advice? I have started ProPoints this week, and have a work trip on Tuesday.

This will mean catching a 7am train - I don't usually eat so early in the day (usually have breakfast around 9-930am as I work from home).

The train journey will be 3 hours, then 2 hour meeting, and 3hr train journey back.

The train station I leave from is large (so maybe Burger King, WHSmith), the one I am travelling to is rural (possibly a cafe there?)

I am on 29PP a day, what can I eat during the day that won't throw me totally off track? I will take some fruit with me, just in case.

I am desperate to shift this last stone, and don't want it all to go pearshaped so early on.

vanimal maybe some sort of graze box with a few different things. Grapes, rice cakes, some hummus, cheese, nuts/seeds. Maybe a ww naan or wrap with a low point filling.
The pound shop are selling salad containers with a little section for dressing that are useful for commuting (keeps the dressing separate so doesn't go all soggy). You could make yourself a really nice salad with low fat dressing.

I'm feeling the effects of weekend indulgence really badly now. 3.50 am and can't sleep due to indigestion. Horrible heartburn spreading all over chest and up jaw and into teeth. First time I had it I thought I was having a heart attack. By some miracle found an antacid in my handbag but still can't lie down without it starting up again. So tired, want to sleep!

Morning all. JoJo hope you managed to get some sleep and that you are feeling better. I was also up at 3 wandering the hiuse as had way too many vodka tonics last night so have probbaly derailed my pp again! Today is a new and alcohol-free day though, First WI tomorrow, an actually not sure I can do it as DH has a work function and spouses invited. Grrrr. I really went wild over the weekend after a very good few days so I think a quiet day with lots of zero points soup is on the agenda. Plus lots of sparkling water and lemon juice. Mmmm.
