Busty Babe With GSOH Seeks SW Partner for Weigh-Ins, Bad Jokes & Barely Veiled Self-Loathing

All right, when you've un-cringed from the above -

I'm about to (re-)embark on Slimming World and since I have neither the time nor the funds to go to classes could really do with a coupla pals for those delicious weekly morning weigh-ins. Is anyone interested? I guess it would be ideal if we were all SWing, but it ain't essential. It's the praise or blame I need, alongside willing recipients of lengthy descriptions of the size of my arse Grin.

Few stats (and needless to say we needn't go in for actual weights here)

I lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago on SW, and have gained about 20lb of that. I KNOW! Silly bint.

As a first step I want to lose 10lb because this will take me into the 'light enough for IVF' category (I have 6 months left before referral for fertility treatment and if not pregnant by then would like to arrive in the pink of health).

After that I would like to lose another 10lb and say 'hello stranger!' to my sad neglected wardrobe of vintage frocks.

Finally, if you are interesting in hanging out, would you mind awfully looking in the mirror and checking that you actually are properly overweight?! Because nothing would depress me more than celebrating getting into a size 16 dress, when everyone else on the thread was lamenting finding their size 10 skinnies a little snug Hmm

Right. I'll now sit back and await rejection. Alpine my luvva, if you're reading this do join!

Bloofer hope you are feeling a bit cheerier. I was pondering your dilemma and wondered if you are doing too many red days. I dunno but if you like big filling portions then maybe a couple of green days (with pasta etc) would help. I'm do extra easy as I am a bit like that and it seems to be working. I also agree re: skiiny people eating utter crap. My 2 sisters are a prime example of size 8 girls who seem to be kebab eating, lager swilling skinny malinkeys! They do exercise I guess (and have youth on their side). Life is not fair and I definately will never be a size 8.

Boo - well survived on the BBQ front. I just can't stop eating sausages when I attend them.

Alpine congrats on the new gym kit. Am jealous. Stupid skinny teenage boys and their saturday jobs!

DH is cruising for a bruising. I was up all night with le bebe. I wake him up at 8am, he says he could do with another hour sleep. AAAH! Have dumped (the now sleeping) baby on him and flounced downstairs to feel like a grown up and watch the andrew marr show and drink tea in peace and quiet He does have exams Mon and Weds so I should be nice. however, today is another day when I will have the baby to myself as he'll be revising so an hour to myself is much needed. I'm resisting tidying up and instead will waffle away to you girls!

Today I will eat:
breakfast: omlette with peppers, tomato, bacon
Lunch: tomato, bacon and lentil soup with wholemeal bread (HEB)
Dinner: Tuna steaks, veggies and minted new pots.
Plus the usual fruit/yoghurt/alpen light (extra HEB)
i might also make (screaming baby dependant) the meringue that is in the SW mag - god how I lovew baking and eating pudding

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/05/2011 09:26

Cross post with pixie - sorry you had a shitty day and a crappy night. Hope today improves and well done on avoiding the biscuit tin. How old is your little one?

pixiestix · 08/05/2011 09:43

She is 7 months Cheese. She is a doll but very clingy and attention-seeking (aren't they all, I suppose) so knackers me out. My DH is similar to yours - he is still in bed because he has been working all week and needs a rest. Um, yes, because I have just been sitting on my arse all week eating cake? Hmm
I am a bit of a loner at heart and I can't remember the last day I spent on my own pottering about.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/05/2011 09:52

Aah bless her. its bloody knackering. I'd give my left boob to still be in bed. I know Dh doesn't think I have it easy but at the same time, he isn't that sympathetic either.

mm cake. I could definately eat cake today!

stinkypinky · 08/05/2011 11:10

Bloofer in your own words you are not sticking to the plan -flapjacks and almonds was it? Also you are not having enough at breakfast - you need more than fruit and yog. Also 5 sins on sugar? - yes within allowance, but you could choose more wisely. In order to lose weight you need to stick to the plan. One thing I do not like on SW is the implication that you can eat 36 chickens or 98 kg of pasta and still lose weight - we all know that is not true. That is why I like extra easy, as it is easier to have a sensible portion. You also need to eat enough, and effectively skipping breakfast, you are making your body think it is fasting.

A challenge for you - before you eat anything... calculate syn value and write it on here, and then we can review it.

Hedgepig · 08/05/2011 11:57

cheese one of my legs may get to a size 8 but not my whole body Grin my DH is also tired and is fixing his email today, I have cleaned up the kitchen, put the dish wash on, put the slow cooker on, Hung out washing, put washing away , put the shipping away! He is getting on a bit though (49 last Thurs) Grin

Bloof some good ideas have been give, I would add ditch the mullerlights, I know they are free but the worst weeks I have had were when I was eating them. I think sweetener confuse your body and it it is better to have an honest low fat yog instead, they are only about 3syn

pic your are the syn police.

Right back to chores,

Hedgepig · 08/05/2011 11:59

Sorry phone went mad, stinky is the syn police

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/05/2011 12:00

Uh oh stinky pink is cracking the whip!

BlooferLady · 08/05/2011 12:40

Well honestly . It's almost as if you people think I came on here asking for the advice, wisdom, support, chastising and encouragement of fellow sli....fellow....fe.....ah. Ahem Grin Grin Grin

RIGHT.

All that you all say is da troofs. Stink's right - no good donning sackcloth and ashes bemoaning failure when you're not doing it properly. My problem is that I know I am doing what I did last time - ie, playing slightly fast and loose - and last time I did very well. However, last time I was 28. I cannot believe how much difference 3 years can make to a girl's metabolism but there it is (I am also probably slightly less active just now owing to the 90,000 biscuits).

So! Taking on board everything, herewith the plan - do Extra Easy for portion control (also this will necessarily restrict refined carb HEBs), choose SS stuff (thanks for that suggestion Pix), try and have a bigger breakfast (any ideas for what though? I don't like using a HEB before I am awake enough to enjoy it!), and calculate syns for the Gestapo me and the world to see! Oh and ditch Mullers - thanks for that bit of wisdom Hedgepig, and I know Pony has cautioned me against them before. I will have to use them this week as I have just done the grocery shop, but I will switch next week. Oh and don't be afraid of using syns...I reckon if I do actually use some then I won't be tempted to sneak flapjack/almonds because I'll be fuller and feeling less deprived.

I have duly amended my day to reflect all you've all said.

EXTRA EASY
Break - fruit and Muller
Lunch (hot meal because of the OM's shifts) - sauteed chicken livers, brown rice, curly kale. 1/2 tbsp olive oil (3 syn). stewed apple with 1 tbsp Manuka honey (HEB and 2.5 syns)
Tea - veg frittata with feta cheese on top (HEA), fruit salad, 0% Total

Howzat?!

In other and less self-absorbed news, I am glad that your rotten anniversary is over Pix, and am amazed at the comforting powers of Super Noodles

I am trying to help! - I had a gain this week, so I can empathize. I had to take an honest look at my own eating and attitudes.

While I am at it, I think the exercise may be confusing matters as I recall mentions of 400 cals on cross trainer = 400 cals in sweets, 45 mins = half a bit of cake - you will not lose weight exercising if you trade in all the cals expended. Also, have a look through the thread and count up how many nights you got pissed.

I think you need to stop being 'fast and loose' with syns, decide to let the plan work with the exercise, perhaps have a break from baking, and take a packed lunch to work. Just a few more adjustments, and you will lose weight.

To all, I recommend a change in the list - I will do it first:

StinkyPinky h 5"8, start weight 17st 5lb, total lost 1st 5lb, this week ?

Shit that hurt Sad

Bloofer, I think you are fab, and I am so with you on your pain. Please take this as it is meant.

stinkypinky · 08/05/2011 12:52

Oh shit, Xpost - apology first, off to read it!

BlooferLady · 08/05/2011 12:55

ha ha Stinky no, no worries dear, you have done ZACKLY what I wanted and needed and indeed, were there any justice, would be paid for your troubles! Grin [fond smile emoticon]

OP posts:
stinkypinky · 08/05/2011 12:56

Fab Bloof

What are you spending syns on? You seem to have 12.5 to go at...

stinkypinky · 08/05/2011 12:57

Just seeing you smile Grin

BlooferLady · 08/05/2011 13:02

THAT'S A BAR OF DAIRY MILK ISN'T IT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!111111111111111!!!!11!!!

OP posts:
BlooferLady · 08/05/2011 13:05

But....do people really lose weight if they have their 15 syns? I mean I am very fat, so I reckon I can get away with a slightly higher syn count. I think part of my trouble is that I veer between self-loathing and starving myself and then breaking like a twig (har! Californian redwood more like) and snarfing bad stuff.

Maybe if I syn counted things I wouldn't feel deprived and would do better?? Dunno.

AGAIN you are very, very brave posting your stats, and in solidarity here are mine:

Bloof, H 5'8", start weight 15.10, total loss +0.5lb the great fool of a dumpling

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/05/2011 13:07

Looks better Bloofer. Best to fill up on the allowed stuff. Interesting about the Mullerlights, won't buy then again. How about omlett/, eggs mushrooms toms and baked beans/ use some syns to have cereal with yog and fruit/ smoked salmon and eggs/ eggs and asparagus? Will have a think bout breakfast.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 08/05/2011 13:13

X post!

I'm not having all my syns every day but if I am hungry I do eat until I feel full again if u see what I mean! Agree about the alcohol thing too, it's just empty calories.

Right deep breath...
Cheese 5ft 3 start weight 13st 3lbs...total lost 0lbs... Current target 1st (out of at least 4)!

BlooferLady · 08/05/2011 13:18

Yes I somehow ignored Stink's point about my drinking hem hem Blush Blush

which is a TRES good point because it's not just the cals expended on booze, it's the fact that I then come home and eat - talking PURELY theoretically of course - three toasted hot cross buns then a hangover breakfast.

And hurrah Cheese for joining the ranks of the brave!

Wow, busy thread. Did everyone get out in the lovely sunny weather this weekend? It's been larverly here but I was reluctant to take off the cardigan at first like an idiot.

pixie my 9 monther is teething at the minute too- I was recommended dentinox which seems to help. In that I don't get the 1am wake up now but she still insists 5-6am is a good start to the day.

I'm happy to change to the new listing format but slightly bothered you will all think I'm not big enough to be on the thread and chuck me off. Anyway;
C4ro 5'7" Start 82.3kg Target 70kg Loss so far 2.7kg.
This morning the scales said 80 again though so I need some good days to not be bottom of the list Wednesday.

BlooferLady · 08/05/2011 13:57

You can stay C4ro, but only because we like you

I am actually sewn into my cardigan every spring. Notalota people know that.

OP posts:
stinkypinky · 08/05/2011 14:09

80kg is 12st 8lb. You can stay, but am very Envy

C4ro · 08/05/2011 14:14

I should thank the thread actually, from preference I think I would have stayed sweating it out in the cardigan but then I remembered the link to that lass in her 2-sizes too small gym kit and the size 26 gold bikini and decided that I probably wouldn't get lynched if joe-public had to glimpse my wobbly arse for a few seconds in their peripheral vision.

On reflecting, I think my massive leap forward week was a no-alcohol week. Unfortunately the house move is coming up soon and I do rather need the odd sip to stop me going demented.

BlooferLady · 08/05/2011 14:21

Crikey, a whole week without booze...well done! I only have 2 nights out planned this week. No good at all my deceiving myself into thinking i won't drink, so intend instead to drink 5 gin and slimlines, at a total syn count of 12.5. Much better than the bitter, red wine and whiskey with which I normally torment my poor innocent liver...

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 08/05/2011 15:35

I don't drink (I.e., last was a solitary g&t 6 weeks ago and I'm still fat so meeeeeeeh.

It's mothers day here and I broke my front tooth driving to the stables. I know Ffs. Then it took me 40 minutes chasing the bbq-bound equine before I could catch her. She was bathed in sweat with white foam between her thighs at the end, so imagine how I felt! Aaaah. Took her out, after a mile or so she hit the breaks and walked backwards into barb wire cutting up her arse. I led for half an hour until finding a suitable mounting block. A few more fight and dancing all the way home. My fungina is on fire.

As a result I'm a kilo less than this morning. Get in. I earned it.

c4ro I love promiss too but I do worry that the day I started waxing lyrical about it was the day I turned in to my mother. :( trousers can be very long on me though.
