All right, when you've un-cringed from the above -

I'm about to (re-)embark on Slimming World and since I have neither the time nor the funds to go to classes could really do with a coupla pals for those delicious weekly morning weigh-ins. Is anyone interested? I guess it would be ideal if we were all SWing, but it ain't essential. It's the praise or blame I need, alongside willing recipients of lengthy descriptions of the size of my arse Grin.

Few stats (and needless to say we needn't go in for actual weights here)

I lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago on SW, and have gained about 20lb of that. I KNOW! Silly bint.

As a first step I want to lose 10lb because this will take me into the 'light enough for IVF' category (I have 6 months left before referral for fertility treatment and if not pregnant by then would like to arrive in the pink of health).

After that I would like to lose another 10lb and say 'hello stranger!' to my sad neglected wardrobe of vintage frocks.

Finally, if you are interesting in hanging out, would you mind awfully looking in the mirror and checking that you actually are properly overweight?! Because nothing would depress me more than celebrating getting into a size 16 dress, when everyone else on the thread was lamenting finding their size 10 skinnies a little snug Hmm

Right. I'll now sit back and await rejection. Alpine my luvva, if you're reading this do join!

Wow well done on your 5lb loss Viva - I reckon you'll be our Slimmer of the Week and you won't even have to take home a mouldy fruit basket as pennance.

Only - I know what you mean about SSS - Slim Sister Syndrome - to an extreme level. My sister is anorexic and everyone thinks its a happy day when she gets above 6 stone. It makes me feel simultaneously really scared and sorry for her, and a little bit jealous at the same time which is an awful awful thing to say isnt it? Blush But its hard not to when I look so utterly disgusting standing next to her

Bloof - good to hear about your top notch uterus and baby-parts Grin At the risk of being fish-slapped that is a really positive thing to focus on. Well done on the 1lb loss - it is a definite step in the right direction and just think of the carnage that would have been Easter without SW.

Cheese - vaccine day is awful isn't it. I could quite easily have sat down and cried when we took DD to get jabbed. It does get easier with every visit but her little face the very first time Sad Oh god, it was terrible.

Boo - September isn't too far away, you know. That is a very manageable target. My target was 2lbs a week when I started SW, which would have had me thin by June. Soooooo, now I have 26 days to lose 33.5lbs. FAIL Grin

pixiestix · 04/05/2011 20:23

Aww Stinky stories like that always make me really weepy. A friend of ours was told she definitely couldn't have children soon after she got married at 18. Her and her husband didn't use any contraception for 22 years and then she got pg with their daughter at the age of 40. Makes me cry with joy every time I think about it Grin

MadameBoo · 04/05/2011 20:41

I knew about Fish. It's ace isn't it :o The reason I know is because I waved a test in her face and forced her to piss on it when she came round earlier. She's in shock, so be gentle with her.

Onlyaphase · 04/05/2011 20:48

List is coming, I promise!

I was waiting until Fish got back from her meeting and updated us at 9pm tonight - on reflection she may have more important things on her mind tonight so I shall crack on forthwith!

MadameBoo · 04/05/2011 20:54

She's still going to SW I think, she looked superfab today when she came round and I'm sure she's lost some more this week so wait 15mins more and see?

cheepcheepchoconora · 04/05/2011 20:54

ahhh boo twas you the person she was talking about Grin well done that lady... tell her its safe to come back, we promise to be gentle... ish Wink

MadameBoo · 04/05/2011 20:55

Guilty as charged :o (She didn't take that much persuading y'know. But I was a bit excited Blush).

Onlyaphase · 04/05/2011 21:05

List is being compiled but if Cheepcheepchoconora or Cheeseandbiscuits or Pinkjenny is around I don't have any info today from any of you? Or Viva apart from today's fab weight loss on this thread

fishandlilacs · 04/05/2011 21:07

Hello all,

Firstly big mahoosive apologies for not announcing my "news" on this thread, i wanted to save it until I had time to tell you all tonight.

I am indeed updiffed, in spectacularly ironic style. Due first week in Jan so very very early days, our very own madameboo helped me along by providing a test and I did another this eve just to be sure.

In other news, I lost 4.5 lb (HA!) and was slimmer of the week. i have lost 21 lb in 8 weeks, go me :)

I am still going to go to SW, had a big chat with consultant, need to speak to midwife and as long as she says it's ok and healthy for me I will still go. I really love my group and as my pregnancy is a risk becasue of my weight then I imagine the MW will adise me to keep going.

cheepcheepchoconora · 04/05/2011 21:11

wooo congrats again fish!! Grin .... if at all possible could you ensure that your baby is born on the 6th Jan ...then it would share DS birthday Grin

erm... I gained about 3 this week only Confused Sad.... so stats would be
target 14 (interim) loss this week +3 ... total loss ... +2.5

so basically... shite all round

Cheeseandbiscuits · 04/05/2011 21:21

Congrats Fish - great news!! And to Mr Fish too. How exciting!

Cheep Cheep - I only started today but my interim is 1 stone (4 in total)!

Having a bad night here - poor baby after her vaccines. Never seen her so sad. And she glared at me - treacherous mum! She is also feeding constantly now. She normally has formula as her good night feed but I gave in and gave her the bottle early....shes now very asleep! Fingers crossed, poor mite.

Onlyaphase · 04/05/2011 21:26

Viva lost 5lb this week and takes home the invisible fruit basket!

FishandLilacs lost 4.5lb this week, has lost 21 lb in total and is exempt from targets until January 2012. Congratulations to you and Mr Fish! Lovely news.
Pixiestix lost 2.5lb this week, 3.5lb lost in total toward her 36lb goal
C4ro lost 1.5lb this week, 6lb lost in total toward her 27lb goal
Blooferlady lost 1lb this week, has gained 0.5lb toward her 20lb goal
MadameBoo lost 1lb this week, has lost 2lb in total toward her 14lb goal

Hedgepig didn't lose anything this week, but has lost 1 st 7lb toward her 3st goal
Alpinepony didn't lose anything this week but has lost 1.2kg toward her 20kg goal

Stinkypinky gained 0.5lb this week, but has lost 5lb overall toward her 20lb target
Duckymum gained 1lb this week, taking her back to 0lb lost toward her 30lb target
Onlyaphase gained 2.5lb this week, but has lost 4lb overall toward her 17lb target. Trying not to take solace in the biscuit bucket.
Cheepcheepchoconora gained 3lb this week, taking her back to +2.5lb toward the 14lb target

Apologies if anyone dislikes this way of listing. I find being at the bottom of the list quite an incentive to not be there next week, but can understand that others may not be as competitive as me. We can change it next week if so, just let me know.

Also sorry if I've made mistakes. Will correct if so.

cheepcheepchoconora · 04/05/2011 21:29

at the bottom...... the BOTTOM

Now - could someone slap me about the face with a wet fish or something and teach me to control what I EAT rather than just hoping a pathetic jog helps it come off?!?!?!

Cheese - have you given DD some calpol ? I remember both mine clearly hating me after their jabs.... so sad - but worth it in the long run :)

pixiestix · 04/05/2011 21:35

Well done everyone!

Thanks for the fab list Only - love it in that format! Though probably not so much when I'm at the bottom most some weeks.

Fish you are my new hero. A 4.5 lb loss and a BFP!! Grin

Cheese have you got any Calpol in the house? We dosed up DD good and proper and she woke up to whimper every few hours until morning when she was right as rain again. Hope Izzy is feeling better in the morning Sad

pixiestix · 04/05/2011 21:36

Cheep Kipper coming your way

cheepcheepchoconora · 04/05/2011 21:36

oh ... do I win anything for being last? other than the slap of course?!

fishandlilacs · 04/05/2011 21:37

Thanks for all the congrats messages, you lot are fab. I am not excited yet, but give it few more weeks and I will be.

Cheese i 2nd the calpol and homeopathic thuja is very soothing.

oh god have all this to look forward to, again.

cheepcheepchoconora · 04/05/2011 21:58
Grin
WhatTheActualFuck · 04/05/2011 22:24

Balls.

Sorry for my extreme tardiness, ladies. Today it occured to me that I am off on my hollibobs in less than 2 weeks (eek) and have done precisely fuck all squared towards organising it except book the flights and reserve kennels for the dogs.

So, since joining this thread...I gained a pound, lost a pound and today I have......drumroll, please........

Gained the same fecking pound again. The bastard. That puts me in the same position I started in which is still needing to lose 7lb to hit my interim target.

Congrats to those who made the upper echelons of the league table, especially you Viva and to those who managed to cling to the status quo. I'll go and stand in the corner with Cheep et al and vow to do better this week. Again.

WhatTheActualFuck · 04/05/2011 22:29

Oh Fish, I was skim reading and missed your news!

Huge congatulations on your updiffedness! I hope you'll hang around and lend us your virtual support while you eat coal and wallpaper paste and whatever else it is you pregnant ladies crave (can you tell I am fairly clueless in that regard?)

BlooferLady · 05/05/2011 07:51

Wonderful news Fish Grin! Am so pleased for you ... and isn't SW the only healthy eating plan they let the duffled ones do? Perfect, you can still hang around and like Fuck says we can hear all about you eating coal or soil or gherkins dipped in honey or whatever you lot go in for! Confused.

Only I LOVES that list format - especially as I wasn't as near the bottom as I thought I would be

Stinky and Cheep and Fuck and pony and everyone who has gained - big massive sympaffies. Last week I was absolutely devastated at gaining so much that I cried and cried myself sick, because I really had tried so hard (going to the gym every day anyone?!). But um, well, I don't have any encouraging words because you'll know everyfink I'd say anyways: just wanted to empathise and hold your hand really.

And HOOPLA to Viva - honestly pal, how are you doing it? Do you exercise lots and lots and lots and keep food diaries and so on? I would so value some tips because I feel as if i've been trying really hard but given a gain of 0.5lb over three weeks CLEARLY not! Angry Sad

well I have 5 days' straight away from work for writing porpoises so am vair happy. I'm going to weigh myself on Sunday too - I've decided twice weekly weigh-ins will help keep me going.

Food today Red:

B - mullerlight, banana and cereal (HEB)
L - eggy bread, bacon, tomatoes (HEB and HEA for oil to cook the eggy bread)
D - chicken cacciatore and veg, fruit salad

good luck all!

And can I just say THANK YOU for joining in. Honestly I never thought so many people would want to and am ever so grateful! Blush

You didn't think there were enough fatties in the world bloofer? Have you been to Birkenhead lately? Wink There are no fatties "abroad" - hopefully c4ro can attest to that. I think they're stoned when they leave their houses or something. I met a women online close to me once who weighed 160kg - she never left the house - what she needs is a variety of fat shops selling tacky. I remember once seeing a size 26 gold-sequined bikini in Evans in Cardiff - I figure if you want to wear that, why shouldn't you?

I think my lack of weight loss is probably something to do with my half-hearted gym/eating efforts. Swizz. :( Must try harder.

Well done fishie - you're brilliant!

BlooferLady · 05/05/2011 08:03

I fucking HATE Evans .

When I lost lotsa weight before I vowed I would never set foot in another store again (because when I was a fat teenager/early 20s, no-one else did fat clothes. These days H&M and New Look etc. do fat stuff but back then it was Evans or a bedsheet). To be honest I think it was the realisation that 10 more lb and I'd be back in there that made me start SWing again.

I admire any size 26 woman who'll wear a bikini. At least. I think I do!

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 05/05/2011 08:16

I think "back then" Evans did actually sell bedsheets. At age 17 I was dressed like a 2 times divorcee going on a cruise. :(
