Busty Babe With GSOH Seeks SW Partner for Weigh-Ins, Bad Jokes & Barely Veiled Self-Loathing

All right, when you've un-cringed from the above -

I'm about to (re-)embark on Slimming World and since I have neither the time nor the funds to go to classes could really do with a coupla pals for those delicious weekly morning weigh-ins. Is anyone interested? I guess it would be ideal if we were all SWing, but it ain't essential. It's the praise or blame I need, alongside willing recipients of lengthy descriptions of the size of my arse Grin.

Few stats (and needless to say we needn't go in for actual weights here)

I lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago on SW, and have gained about 20lb of that. I KNOW! Silly bint.

As a first step I want to lose 10lb because this will take me into the 'light enough for IVF' category (I have 6 months left before referral for fertility treatment and if not pregnant by then would like to arrive in the pink of health).

After that I would like to lose another 10lb and say 'hello stranger!' to my sad neglected wardrobe of vintage frocks.

Finally, if you are interesting in hanging out, would you mind awfully looking in the mirror and checking that you actually are properly overweight?! Because nothing would depress me more than celebrating getting into a size 16 dress, when everyone else on the thread was lamenting finding their size 10 skinnies a little snug Hmm

Right. I'll now sit back and await rejection. Alpine my luvva, if you're reading this do join!

That means a more significant loss next week Pony - 2 poos AND a week's fatloss Grin

I am not sure I can bring myself to do my measurements owing to the size of my arse and childhood traumas relating to having to have my Mum make skirts for me, and the tape measure practically run out of inches...

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 19/04/2011 10:50

ha! I remember being ridiculed for having 34" hips.

Wink
BlooferLady · 19/04/2011 10:52

I suppose I must have passed through the 34" in stage into the NEARLY DOUBLE THAT I achieved at my heaviest. But I suspect I would have been about 9...You are talking to the woman who got her first bra aged 10 and went straight into a C cup, and my hips did similarly.................

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 19/04/2011 11:05

I was there. :( Piss ripped out of me for wearing a bra, piss ripped for having tits if not wearing a bra. :( I was 10 with the 34" hips. Over 5' mind, but still a freak. I just had the body of a 16 year old.

Perhaps we all need to print this out:

Homeage to my Hips

these hips are big hips.
they need space to
move around in.
they don't fit into little
petty places. these hips
are free hips.
they don't like to be held back.
these hips have never been enslaved,
they go where they want to go
they do what they want to do.
these hips are mighty hips.
these hips are magic hips.
i have known them
to put a spell on a man and
spin him like a top

BlooferLady · 19/04/2011 11:14

That ought to be laminated and carried everywhere.

apart from owt else, however thin I get my hips aren't going anywhere, unless I have the bones shaved Grin

Loved that clip. Bloofer, I misread your post as 'I am driving into the studio for the duration' (need glasses) and thought maybe you're a famous actress or something !

Anyway my weigh in at SW is tomorow so I will pm you when I get back.

Yesterday I slightly changed my thinking as it is very easy to over eat on extra easy so although I'm still going to do it I'm also ging to make sure or at least try not to go over about 1800 cals per day. I did that yesterday and it really helps. I've been eating very healthilly but much too much of it. Piles of fruit salad etc which is free but also full of sugar.

Hedgepig · 19/04/2011 11:42

Well hello, love the poem pony.
We are on holiday so no scales for a weigh in; so sad Grin. I'm going to try and stick to the diet but may have the odd glass of vino and ice cream.

TwoNoisyBoys · 19/04/2011 11:47

Right, real thicko question now........how do you pm someone? Blush

C4ro · 19/04/2011 11:52

AlpinePony Oooh, apps! . Anybody any recommendations?

BLady Wow, you did the teen body changes thing way-early.

My family has a rather un-fetching large wide square arse with saddlebags and that they've passed down the lines. Even my ultra-skinny marathon running cousin doesn't escape the large arse. Doubt she can challenge my fine array of stretchmarks though!

I should be doing some catch-up work for tomorrow but, dammit, it's my parental leave day so I'm letting DD have some private imagination time in the playpen (IE ignoring her) and catching up on the latest crap on M-net. Had a nice relocation chap round today to quote to move all our stuff. Then we chatted about moving the old classic car too. DH grumped when I told him I was getting a quote for that as he has a plan that he gets a weekend off somewhere in our ridiculously packed month to just drive it down by himself (it is two-seater, nowhere to put the DD car seat).

C4ro · 19/04/2011 11:54

TwoNoisyBoys I doubt I did the fast way but I went to my inbox and clicked on the +NewMessage.

pixiestix · 19/04/2011 11:59

Click on Inbox at the very top of your screen Noisy and there should be a New Message button on the screen that then comes up. Then just type in BlooferLady's name and away you go! Having said that am fervently hoping mine sent properly...

1.5lb loss for me which I'm pleased with considering the carb-fest that has been my week. Declined apple crumble from DH yesterday and chocolate cake at baby club this morning so am feeling ver ver angelic

AlpinePony · 19/04/2011 12:01

My mum used to mince up and down Carnaby St. wearing Mary Quant thigh length boots - leg, leg, leg. Alas, my fathers side are highlanders and whilst we're built to pull a cart up a hill and live outdoors in harsh conditions - we should step away from the skinny jeans. Although of course the irony is, all jeans become skinny! Wink

I once read that saddlebags are the "special" fat stored for bf'ing. BF FAIL Hmm.

pixiestix · 19/04/2011 12:02

Too slow.

PMSL at "private imagination time" C4ro Grin

I too started all things womanly far too early. Periods started at 9. Sad and Angry

AlpinePony · 19/04/2011 12:02

townoisyboys If you look at bloofer's message on the screen right now, if you scroll right past the date of the post, you'll see "add message", "report" and "message poster". Voila.

pixiestix · 19/04/2011 12:06

Yep, I could probably pull a cart up a hill too Pony. DH and I are both sufferers of "Celtic leg" - ie lovely long back which makes it look like you are about 7 ft tall when you are sitting down. Then stupid guinea pig legs attached. Apparently all the celtic nations are proportioned thus.

JennyPiccolo · 19/04/2011 12:12

Can i join in this thread? Just saw photographs of myself from the weekend where i thought i looked fairly respectable and nearly vomited.

I have to lose around 4 stone. Be gentle with me.

What kind of weight loss are people getting on slimming world from week to week?

BlooferLady · 19/04/2011 12:19

Just swinging by to say all PMs received ta! More from me later - keep 'em coming!

Jenny do join and welcome! Today is the Day of Doom (tm) and we'll be posting the Big Fat List later today. If you want to join in, PM me your target loss (I'm doing an interim target because I'm a wimp, others are doing the full shebang) and I'll add you, and you can get started!

I lost between 1 and 3 lb a week on SW last time, with the odd plateau or gain and the odd stonking 4 or 5lb loss. It's great, largely if like me you're an orally fixated pig and need something constantly in your mouth all the time

OP posts:
TwoNoisyBoys · 19/04/2011 12:22

Thank you everyone, I'm a bit of a techno-phobe, in case you hadnt guessed! Well, am in a very good mood, my scales said 12st 1 and a half lbs this morning, which is a 4lb loss for me! And yep, it'll be mostly water as it always is in the 1st week, but it's given me a bit of a boost and the motivation to carry on! Hope everyone else ok, am going to check out now and come back later on tonight, the two noisy boys are outside playing, and its time to feed them and do other mum things! See you all later x

AlpinePony · 19/04/2011 12:22

Food today btw, may have a treat later:

B: greek yoghurt + loaaaaadsssa blueberries
L: mixed leaf, rocket, smoked & peppered tuna, toms, olive oil, balsalmic, pinenuts
D: salmon with sumfinkoruvva , mango, 6 pots B&Js

pixiestix · 19/04/2011 12:25

Hello Jenny - good day to join as today is weighing in day - Day of Doom (TM). I lose about 2-3lbs a week if I do the plan and 1-2lbs a week if I cheat a lot bit, which is most weeks. 4st was my starting target as well and I have lost 21.5lbs since January, with lots and lots of cheating Blush
No will power at all.

pixiestix · 19/04/2011 12:27

4lbs Noisy ???!

You bastard-- Well done!

JennyPiccolo · 19/04/2011 12:27

ive gone and bought some w8 horrendous diet food last week in a moment of self disgust, i dont really want to do it but it cost me a hundred quid so im going to do it for a week then start slimming world next week. I will PM you my shiz when i get a chance to weigh myself. (I dont even own scales! Is there any hope for me?)

pixiestix · 19/04/2011 12:28

Rats, can't even cross out properly. Better have some consolation snacks.

C4ro · 19/04/2011 12:29

pixiestix celtic leg totally explains a Welsh ex of mine! He was 6ft but his legs were only the same length as mine (I'm 5.7ish).

AlpinePony So there is a quicker way to mail people! I think my eye scans across, sees the twitter/ facebook logos and just switches off then.

JennyPiccolo the more the merrier. Loads of people seem to be doing the SW plan here, I'm not but you should get an answer fairly swiftly on loss expectations.

JennyPiccolo · 19/04/2011 12:29

well done Pixie! Thats loads of weight off so far.
