No room at the part two inn - so here goes part 3!!

6W6P level 1 day 8 done...
... And I still hate burpees!

OP posts:
YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 18/04/2011 18:11

You're doing really well if it doesn't wipe you out! I loved it on L1 on the second circuit when she starts getting a bit manic, shouting at you etc. and the music speeds up but on L2 when she started shouting orders I just thought 'you've gotta be joking' rather than 'yeah, I can do it'.

I will just do like you and try to focus on the 'finding time for myself blah balh blah...' Grin

By the way I was shocked when she confessed in the L2 cool down that 'shaking it out' doesn't do anything! I thought it was some pro trick or something!

JelliBelli · 18/04/2011 18:27

I haven't noticed faster music Confused in L2. Ooops.

But when she says "double time" etc I do speed up but not necessarily with them. They are my goal and I intend to reach it by the time the 3 weeks is up. I don't beat myself up about it - it's the best I can do today. I am hoping tomorrow's best will be slightly better than today's and so on. That's how I see it anyway and it has worked up till now. I couldn't believe I would ever do the 'get ups' for L1 but by the end I was doing it. I was pleased about that though cos they look dead tricky![excited child emoticon]

Ditto the 'shaking it out'.

I do find the 'time for myself blah' a bit American balony to be honest, but I do like the idea of achieving something i thought i never would. It does has encourage me to push boundaries elsewhere in my life so, for me, it's not ALL a load of tosh!

YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 18/04/2011 18:35

Yes, she is inspirational and I love her telling me I'm strong and my body is 'capable of so much more' Grin

I think our relationship may yet survive this Level 2 blip!

TooTiredToArgue · 18/04/2011 20:19

Can I join you on a level 2 blip? Just completed 30DS L2D10 and it was harder than ever before. Think I may have hit the wall that some marathon runners talk about. I even seemed to be out of breath after the warm up jumping jacks! Blush

I'm not sure if it's just that I've got out of the routine (having had 4 days off this week). Maybe I have lost fitness at the same rate that I gained it to begin with. Or maybe it's because I know what's coming up, and dread it all. At the bit when she says 'I want you to feel like you're gonna die' I really really was. Awful.

Still, tomorrow is another day. Going to leave Level 2 and give it a big fat V and embrace level 3. Smile

I haven't noticed faster music either Confused

JelliBelli · 19/04/2011 15:46

Tootired I find it hard the next day back after a break too. I suspect it must be a mental thing as we can't lose fitness that quickly (surely?).

I was relieved to leave L2 and crack on with L3.

.......Then you get to rock star jumps and think "I'll never be able....." and so it goes on Grin!!! (Although I quite liked them as the breeze was quite nice and cooling!)

DukesOfTripHazard · 19/04/2011 20:29

I tried level 2 for the first time today (having watched 9 year old dd do it a few days ago while I ate my cereal on the sofa Blush)

I find Jillian's bra top too insubstantial. There is a semblance of flailing. In her chestal area. What with the faster music, it's not good.

Other than that... I like the skating jumps but i would be made to walk the plank for my walking planks.

Jacksterbear · 19/04/2011 21:14

30DS L1 day 8 done - and with 2kg weights for everything except the 2nd set of squat/shoulder presses and the 2nd set of side lunge/raises. Not bad considering on day 1 I could barely get through the workout with 1kgs!

Scales say no weight lost Sad but jeans feel less snug and SIL said today I am "shrinking" so think I will ignore the scales! Grin

Had a sneak preview of L2 and am scared though (perhaps it didn't help that I watched it in fast-forward Grin).

BalloonSlayer · 19/04/2011 21:20

Tootired did you do it at a different time of day? If I have eaten too recently I have no energy for it at all, presumably my blood is all in my belly and there's none left to work my arms and legs - they feel like lead.

TooTiredToArgue · 20/04/2011 08:11

Balloonslayer you might have something there. Usually I try to do it on an empty stomach but this time I rushed it in after eating the DCs leftover pizza (in lieu of a proper meal later, you understand Blush). But yes, my arms and legs really did feel like lead.

Was ill yesterday so no shredding contemplated. Not sure about later.

In just over a week I have my brother's glamorous extremely thin French girlfriend coming to stay for a night. She runs hideously long distances most days and eats enough to feed a canary. I really don't want to feel like a heffalump next to her, but need to be realistic in what I can achieve in a week.

Jackster I like the skating jumps, although feel a little silly doing them. I made sure my curtains are closed so none of my neighbours can see me as they walk past....

Jelli how are the size 8 jeans feeling?

BalloonSlayer · 20/04/2011 13:17

Gah!

Just did a Level 1 shred as had to do something.

Why is it only me that finds it fucking torture?

However it did to be over quickly, now I have been doing 6W6P for a bit.

I am being good with food though and my weight has come down a pound or two. The bad news is I think the weight is coming off the old thruppeny bits. Angry

Jacksterbear · 20/04/2011 15:52

Balloonslayer well done for doing something, even if it felt like a step backwards - much better than saying "I don't feel up to doing the hardest workout I can so I won't do anything at all"!

TooTired are you feeling any better today?

30DS L1D9 done, with 2kg weights for the whole lot - although my final set of side lunges were pretty pathetic!

YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 20/04/2011 18:52

Well 6W6Packers, I've managed to do day 3 of level two and you know what? I'm still alive! And I intend to do it tomorrow...in fact I'm looking forward to it Shock

Now I've got the hang of the moves (though those pass-through lunges still make me look like an uncoordinated heffalump) I prefer it to L1. I feel much more 'exercised', like I've got more out of the 35 mins than L1. And the best bit is you don't have to do those fecking side-planks (well theres the kick things but holding the side plank in L1 used to make me feel like my shoulder was going to crumble).

I also think I am getting defined abs and can feel a 6 pack...unfortunately it's all under a wibbly layer of flab Hmm

Will check in when I'm 'ripped'.

Keep going everyone, don't phone it in!

TooTiredToArgue · 20/04/2011 20:12

Jackster still ill, but thanks for asking. DH has used up all paracetamol so was reduced to taking the DCs ibuprofen. Sad Well done on D9 with your 2kg weights.

Watched level 3 of 30DS today to see what awaits me, and although it looks hard, don't get me wrong, I can tell already that I'm going to prefer it to Level 2. The abs moves look impossible - how they keep their backs flat on the floor I'll never know.

On a trivial note, I like the top that Jillian wears on level 3, but hate the picture of her on the DVD case. She looks a bit goth and scary, not good at all.

Keep going everyone. I'm with you in spirit, if not in body, iyswim.

conquita · 21/04/2011 00:54

Hi Guys. Well 6w6p has arrived from Amazon. I will rip it out of the cellophane tomorrow and start. I am really scared though having read all your comments about it! Please can I just clarify that it does work your arms too? I really NEED to get my chip shop arms thinner so I feel comfortable wearing short sleeves/sleeveless tops on holiday. I can either carry on with shredding using my heavier weights or switch to 6w6p. What do you think I should do? I have two weeks before I go away to try and shrink myself. Also, what weights are you all using in 6w6p?

and yes to all in level 2 30dayshred, I hate it too. You are all over the shop, up and down, up and down. Level 3 has more continuous zen feel to it.

BalloonSlayer · 21/04/2011 08:07

There is not so much arm work in 6W6P - which is why I like it as my arms are so puny I am never going to manage 30DS well. (The reason I can't do those horrendous side planks in 6W6P is because I can't support myself on one arm for more than 2 seconds Blush )

If your arms are your biggest worry conquita you would probably be best to stick to shredding before your deadline. Or combine the two . . . Wink

TooTiredToArgue · 21/04/2011 16:14

Hello all

Just a quickie. 30DS, L3D1 done! (said in Gordon Ramsey voice).

Two words: Sweaty back!

Still alive though. Smile

JelliBelli · 22/04/2011 00:35

Hi All,

It looks like it's been a bit quiet here this week. Are we all still busy shredding? Or are we all recovering from the marathon last week Grin?

Tootired glad to hear you're sounding better again. My jeans are fine and dandy, thanks and feel great to put on Grin. Mostly I slob around the house/garden doing dirty jobs in an old pair of jeans but I have to wear my belt on the tightest hole now (instead of hole 4).

BallonSlayer Well done on the poundage. Do I take it your "old thruppeny bits" are what I am trying to reduce? Mine are not shifting very fast. It's a bugger and a funny ol' world eh? My hips are slimming down most I think but I am desperate to shift the boobs and be able to buy pretty non-scaffold bras in a regular shop. This IS my reason for the torture new exercise regime. I guess we all have different snow drifts.

YouMake Me I still prefer L1. Ditto the abs and wibbly flab.

Conquita I use 1.5kg for 6W6P but just today I considered using my heavier ones, so tomorrow I will step up to 3kg for some exercises.

I've had a bit of a mental wobble this week as I had fish and chips on Monday, then out for dinner with the girls on Tuesday. Where I ate far too much (but of generally 'good' food) and drank a 'little' more than I usually do (usually none) so I was pretty heavy (and bloaty) the next day.

So i did feel a bit "oh bugger DH is coming home and I'm all lardy again". You'll be pleased to hear that I have mostly got a grip since, got it all back in perspective and can see my progress again rather than thinking I was back to square 1.

febes · 22/04/2011 01:52

I haven't shredded today yet as its Good Friday and DH is off so having a nice family day. I might do it before bed tonight though I feel a bit twitchy without it!! I've also not had a great week. I got my period on Wednesday which explained feeling nibbly on Tuesday. I baked muffins with DD and licked my fingers a far bit!! On Wednesday night I went to a friends baby shower and had 2 glasses of wine and then had 2 vod and sods last night so I doubt I have lost this week but am back on track now as I have lots to lose!! Need to up my water as well- only been drinking around a litre this week need to get back up to 3L.

Jacksterbear · 22/04/2011 08:41

febes I take it then you are not in the UK?! (Your post was at 2.00 a.m. on Good Friday here?!!)

Jelli, argghhhh, my hips (and thighs) are what I am desperate to de-flab, not seeing any reduction so far!

Is everyone planning to keep going as normal over the Easter weekend? I am!

It's d11 today, so I need to tackle L2 of 30DS - wish me luck! Smile

febes · 22/04/2011 08:56

I'm in New Zealand Smile

Jacksterbear · 22/04/2011 10:03

Ah, that makes sense!

Jacksterbear · 22/04/2011 19:19

Made it through level 2 woo hoo!!

Quite enjoyed it actually Confused. My one criticism of level 1 was it didn't seem to work legs and abs hard enough, which is def not the case for level 2! Half Natalie, half Anita for the moment...

febes · 22/04/2011 21:28

I had a day off yesterday. Back into D6 L2 today though. The last circuit is the killer in level 2- the v raises/chair squats, the plank jacks, the ab plank twists HARD CORE!!!!
Shredding doesn't seem much easier the second time round but I guess I'm able to do more and with the 2kg weights it is way more than I did the 1st time round.

TooTiredToArgue · 22/04/2011 21:40

Day 2, L3 of 30DS done for me today. Managed to fit it in earlier in day, then walked around feeling distinctly virtuous, aching in a nice, oooh, I've done some exercise, kind of way.

Have to admit to not managing many mountain climbers yet, and the jump squat thing are so hard. Even the lovely Jillian looks a bit messy doing them. Tried my best with rock star jumps, though fear for the house foundations Smile.

Still dreaming of that elusive proper (Natalie) press up. Will that day ever come?

TooTiredToArgue · 22/04/2011 21:41

febes,

agree, v raises still haunt me. Impressed that you're doing them with 2kg weights!
