Morning all Smile
No exercise at all for me past 2 evenings as there have been people in the house doing stuff, grrrrrrRRRRRR
I WILL be doing something tonight, probably L2 of 6W6P which exhausted me the same pleasing way that Shred did when I first started out...
I really recommend, for anyone thinking about doing it, that they watch it through first - I think that really helped me keep up with it.
Notyummy I can't even remember her saying that at the end Blush. I think I may have mentally completely switched off at that point as I melted into a puddle of sweat! Will listen out tonight if/when I do it.
I haven't been dieting but have still got smaller (not necessarily lighter). I am tempted to cut back on stuff to shift a few pounds, but I've had an unhealthy relationship with diets in the past so this may be a risky path to take.

Hope everyone is having a great day Grin

threestepsforward · 09/06/2011 20:06

L3 Shred done!! There wasn't enough time to do 6W6P once everyone had gone for the day so that treat will have to wait for another day, possibly the weekend...

notyummy · 09/06/2011 22:54

L2 6W6P yesterday, follwed by NMTZ with 3kg weights today. I can feel it a bit!! The strange thing is that the bits that hurt the most after 6W6P are my bottom and thighs....odd, no? Having said that, they are probably the parts that need the most work so I suppose I shouldn't complain.

I quite like NMTZ, but despise the twisting planks straight into more plank with side toe taps. That HURTS!

JelliBelli · 09/06/2011 23:10

Notyummy I found 6W6P a bit of a lungefest to be honest. My glutes and legs were the bits that felt it. Odd? Yes, I think so.

JelliBelli · 09/06/2011 23:17

Ooops! Just reading the previous page (29) after I read page 30 so I am out of order, as it were!

Notyummy well done on deciphering what she said - I could hear her burbling about something but couldn't distinguish the words. But I had a quick google and found 'mad props' which kind of makes sense of what she says.

notyummy · 10/06/2011 09:02

Thanks so much for that Jelli. Who knew?!

Feel slightly achey from the last couple of days efforts but still planning on heading out for a looonnnng run later this morning. Weather is gorgeous here at the moment - kind of enticing me outside.

VenetiaLanyon · 10/06/2011 09:51

Day 25 - and day 5 of level 3. I am worried that I'm not doing the dumbell jerk ones right, as I don't find these difficult at all; is this just me?

One good point is that I have traditionally steered clear of lunging as I suffer with knee pain; and I really felt it in the knees at the start of the shredding, but now my lunges are much deeper and the knee pain is gone - hurrah!

notyummy · 10/06/2011 10:32

The dumbell clean is the easiest move in the whole of the 30 DS.

I always move up weights for this one. Using 7kg now as 5kg too easy. Might be worth having the next weight up to hand to use?

threestepsforward · 10/06/2011 11:10

Morning all,

Notyummy and Jellibelli - same goes for me: my bum and legs, arms and back really felt the effects of L2 6W6P ...and not my tummy Hmm. Glad to be working on those areas, but how strange that for all of us the one area we haven't felt the effect on, in 6 Week 6 Pack, is the stomach!!

Does anyone else find that the faster she makes you do the abs exercises (bicycle crunches spring to mind), the less effective you feel they are?

Venetia I find those easy too - I use a 1.5 kg wrist weight and my 2 kg dumbell but it still seems quite easy!

Jacksterbear · 10/06/2011 19:15

notyummy and Venetia I agree about the dumbbell clean - what is the point of it? And why does she choose that moment to launch into that "it's not easy but think about why you bought this DVD" speech - we need that during the mountain climbers or jumping lunges, not during the pointlessly easy bit!!

knottyhair · 10/06/2011 19:52

Totally agree with notyummy, Venetia and Jacksterbear about the dumbbell cleans. There's a couple of moves in NMTZ that are like that as well - think I need to buy heavier weights just for these few moves.

notyummy · 10/06/2011 20:01

10 mile run today, which felt quite hard on the thighs after 6W6P and NMTZ! Pleased I did it as I found a new route - just didn't feel; like my poor old legs were up to the half marathon route I did a couple of weeks ago!

Yoga tomorrow and then a double shred on Sunday with DP. I managed the last one with 5kg, so will give it another go.

knottyhair · 11/06/2011 14:43

Just wondered... has anyone got Jillian's "Master Your Metabolism" cookbook? I quite fancy getting it but only if it has the calorie values for each recipe. Can anyone help? Thanks.

threestepsforward · 11/06/2011 16:19

I haven't Knotty, but check out whether all her weighing measurements are US style-ee, or doesn't that matter? Is it quite easy to convert US to UK measures?

Woo-hoo - did my second ever L2 6W6P today!! Jeez it is hard! On the second circuit there was more than one point I was thinking I don't think I can actually carry on. But I did...just about Grin.

More talk of 'Fear leaving the Body' in this one...and there's one point she's verging on serial killer when she's shouting at Madd-ee (or is it Maggie?).

Planning on another Jillian instrument of torture tomorrow - seems like an age since I've managed to do 2 days back to back.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend Smile

knottyhair · 11/06/2011 18:41

threesteps, I'm going to order it I think. I posted on her Facebook page and someone has kindly confirmed that it does have the calorie content so I can anally log my calories when I use it. I've got a conversion chart somewhere for US to UK, I'll have to dig it out. Well done on doing L2 6W6P again! I did it for the second time in about a month a couple of days ago and it wasn't quite as bad as I remembered it, so I've either got a bit fitter or I'd been so traumatised I'd completely demonised it in my head Blush. I did just a Level 1 Shred this morning, but used weights in the cardio and it was still hard! Going to do 4 circuits of BFBM tomorrow morning...

threestepsforward · 11/06/2011 21:51

Knotty I do that - make things seem a lot worse in my head so I absolutely dread them! I think this time though, I persuaded myself L2 wasn't as bad as it actually was - when in fact I did think I was going to die this afternoon!!

Determined to persist with it though as it reminds me of how Shred used to make me feel in the initial days...
Would be interested to know if she's got any good recipes in her book if you do get it... I'm a veggie, which rules me out of a lot of eating plans, so am always on the look out for new ideas Smile
Good luck on the 4 circuits tomorrow. Think I may do a L1 Shred as that always shocks me each time I go back to it!!

knottyhair · 12/06/2011 09:30

The book is on order, threesteps, I'll let you know if there are any good veggie recipes! Did my 4 circuits of BFBM. The one with standing mountain climbers, jump squats etc. is really hard!

fearnelinen · 12/06/2011 10:45

Right, I am getting so into so, just ordered BFBM dvd, Master Your Metabalism book and cook book. Am i going to be ripped this time next year!

fearnelinen · 12/06/2011 10:45

No! Not Am i I am !!!

Skimummy · 12/06/2011 10:45

Hello all!

Just ducking in to give a quick review of 'Ripped in 30' which arrived in my letterbox this week. In a nutshell: it's good. Very similar to 30 Day Shred in format with some differences. Firstly, it's slightly quicker paced - mainly on the cardio. Secondly, the strength parts have three exercises rather than two. Some familiar exercises, some familiar exercises with a twist and some new ones! I have only done Level 1 so far but it got me sweaty enough that I dread what is to follow. Another good thing is that on some exercises there are three options to follow - 'easy', normal and advanced - which I think is good for those who want to push themselves a bit more. I stuck to the normal versions!! Anyway, I have done it twice so far and really feel it in my bum and backs of legs. But there are also some great upper body exercises (such as tricep extensions).

I think that is all...oh, there is a web link to an accompanying diet plan. Will post later when I check what it is again!

Hopefully will be on here more often now that I am all remotivated with the new DVD!

knottyhair · 12/06/2011 11:55

Skimummy, are you abroad? How do you play the DVD? Or have you found a UK version??

Skimummy · 12/06/2011 17:07

knottyhair, no am in the UK. I play the DVD on my laptop so it works fine. Although I also found a 'hack' for our DVD player which means it plays all region DVDs as well!! The things I do for Jillian...

notyummy · 12/06/2011 17:11

Ooh- interesting stuff from Skimummy!

Did Ls 2 and 3 with DH this morning. Used 5 kg apart from squat with v sits and squat and upright row. Couldnt quite manage those! Can feel my shoulders znd upper back slightly already.

knottyhair · 12/06/2011 17:24

Gordon Bennett, 5kg notyummy! Here I am contemplating getting some 3kg! So Skimummy, would the DVD play on any PC do you think? And where did you find the hack?? Someone else told me they did this and then had trouble playing their other DVDs? I'm very intrigued!

notyummy · 12/06/2011 17:26

Squat with v raise! Not squat and v sit- that would be VERY hard Grin
