Let's start afresh!

OP posts:
ExitPursuedByALamb · 01/04/2011 14:17

I had a very tasty mixed leaf salad with some chicken a bit of parmesan and a drizzle of balsamic syrup. Might have some more now as it was 2 hours ago.

Mssoul · 01/04/2011 18:01

Just made egg mayo using 4 eggs for snacking and ate the whole lot. This was my first eggy dish of the day. Think I may have now put myself off eggs for ever and feel a bit Envy Bleurgh!

Timbachick · 01/04/2011 18:33

Roast chicken tonight (no roasties for me Sad) with tons of veggies and some celeriac.

Thanks to custy I now have a raging celeriac habit!!! All the dealers know me now Grin

Oh, does anyone have any good lo/no-carb dessert ideas/recipes? I wasnt some ideas for when people come over to eat ... so I can have something too.

I have had:

Quorn meatballs (a few too many) with mixed veg, the sort that comes ready frozen. Yes, I know it sounds vile. In actual fact, it was nice.
Salad with roasted seeds and ham.

I did two workouts, and went for a long walk up a mountain. Farm's dog ran down here to the road, so I had to walk back up the very same mountain to make sure he got home. My thighs ache but I feel goooooood and swotty!

Had a lush lunch today - a pile of asparagus and two duck eggs (ooh, get me and my gourmet ways....). Just about to cook some salmon steaks to eat with salad for dinner.

Earlier today, a friend of mine was selling off some Christmas Giftsets from her garage - a bottle of wine and 12 Lindor chocolates for £1.50. I bought 10 Blush.

The wine won't be a problem, but now I have 120 Lindor chocolates (absolutely my favourite things) winking at me from the kitchen cupboard. What was I thinking?

Orm the south beach diet (another lc variant)'has lentils daily as obligatory so sure occasional fine.

Asparagus with romesco and courgette feta mint chestnut flour egg fritters and salad for lunch.

Experimenting with a quorn (dh veggie) moussaka with Greek yog egg and feta topping for supper. Will report back.

CointreauVersial · 01/04/2011 22:20

Yes, Sal, they jolly well are those little red buggers. They are calling me.

Well, there's only 114 of them left now. There would have been even fewer, but DH wrestled the box off me and put them away.

Having any left by May is looking like a long-shot.

Well, yesterday I had;

Breakfast - 2 slices ham, one boiled egg, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and olives.

Lunch- half an avocado

dinner- none. Having a very stressful time lately with some problems and issues and my stomach was in knots and I was genuinely not hungry. I did have two small G&Ts though.

Today we have people coming for dinner. i am planning;

homemade smoked salmon pate with melba toast (lettuce instead of toast for me)

beef gulasch with potatos and green beans (I will avoid the pots)

fruit cheese and biscuits for dessert.

When I started eating differently after reading the skinny spanish woman thread I first ate a grilled chicken breast with dijon mustard and a big salad. I found if I ate that for lunch i simply did not have any appetite for dinner. I honestly had to force myself to eat an evening meal.... usually i am a three meal a day and LOTS of food girl. It has been a big surprise to me.

I am not a big exerciser generally. I have ongoing back problems and I walk slowly daily for an hour or so, but it is very slow indeed.

I am 5ft 5 inches and currently weigh 10 stone 12 pounds. My ideal weight is 9 stone 7. At the beginning of June I have a family wedding that I am hoping so much i can wear a beautiful dress to. I am still wearing maternity clothes, and i do not want to reveal how old my DC is! I've bought a gorgeous frock from Monsoon in a size 12 that I cannot even do up, so fingers crossed.

I am so happy to have found this thread. This way of eating just does not feel like a diet! I am eating my favourite foods!

febes · 02/04/2011 07:07

Just had a monster curry with spinach and cauli rice. Yumm hope it gets me moving...
I have been feeling off the past few days and I think I am constipated. I got hemmoroids as well (major TMI!!) which I haven't had outside my pregnancies and post birth. I'm really gutted as I haven't had any poo problems up until this week. I have started taking Phloe (kiwifruit based fibre capsule) and have been knocking back the water and using cream for the 'roids. Grim.
Well sorry for over sharing but need some advice. Do you think thats all ok? Anything else I can do? Anyone else had this?

febes · 02/04/2011 07:08

Also haven't lost any weight this week but am due on so that figures really.

FreeButtonBee · 02/04/2011 08:24

10 2.5 this morning. Yay! finally under 10 3.

Big lentil sausage casserole for dinner last night - was delicious and has helped the old bowels along too.

Off to pilates in a bit, then doing some messages.

Sarraburd - what's the recipe for the fritters? They sound right up my street.

TimeForMeIsFree · 02/04/2011 08:47

Hi ladies! Just de-lurking to tell febes psyllium husk capsules from Holland and Barrett are very good at helping with keeping things moving. HTH

I too am eggbound. Is it Ok to take lactulose when low carbing? Did not want to derail my weightloss.

Best cure for me is Blackforest tea but I have run out. I usually buy it in South Africa when I am there. Found it on line but it is £16.99 which seems a bit steep!

Read in the paper the other day about some pineapple extract tablets which are meant to help, but cannot remember what they are called.

No, Sal, Resist! Muffins will make you bloaty. Resist! You are doing so well with your running. Don't sabotage yourself.

Not that I am one to talk. We went to local posh restaurant for lunch. I was fairly good - had tuna, then sea bass, neither of which had much carbs at all. Then had a choc pudding with ice cream. Oops. At least I resisted the steak and chips

DH and I are starting to bore ourslves with our fantastic weight loss stories. Hee hee, it's very amusing. He did plead rather sternly for me not to fade away. No chance of that! I know all he cares about are the boobs, but I was a DD at sixteen and 8.5 st so don't think these babies are going anywhere too soon.
