Hope you're okay sal, and that whatever has made you teary has gone away.

I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCMENT.

It's the size 14 honeymoon jeans... The ones I had to diet to get into, aged 21, and felt like a million dollars in. The ones I'm wearing in the "I wish I still looked like that" photos.
I got them out. Looked at the waist, and thought they would never fit. Tried them on: Last time I did this, they wouldn't go over my thighs.
Ladies, they fit.

(Disclaimer: There is a substantial muffin top when I do them up. I need to lose another ten poundsish before I'm comfortable going out in them.) But I feel brilliant! I am now wearing a size 14 top and jeans. Comfortably. I looked in the mirror and thought that if I went to a size 12 I could possibly be described as lanky.

OK, am overegging it. And planning on curry on saturday night. But :o Yay!

Wow hoo CF. The jeans don't lie. They are the best test. did i mention my jeans that fall down without a belt? I think i might have mentioned it just once or a million times twice

Sarraburd - courgette fritters were great. I did one courgette, one egg, half a pack of feta, spoonful plain flour (am slackins and can't be arsed to get excited about one spoon of plain flour!) salt pepper and dried oregano. Mixed it up, put into a pir dish and baked for 20 mins. It was delish. Served on greek salad with a bit of hummus. Vv good.

TheGoddessBlossom · 07/04/2011 20:53

CF - the jeans baraometer - it never fails! Ask Oprah. Smile Well done you.

Just going to list my meals today, if you don't mind, as really can't get to grips with being "allowed" to eat this stuff:

Breakfast:

3 eggs, 2 rashers of bacon

Lunch:

cashew nuts, rocket salad with prosciutto ham, cheddar, full fat salad cream

Tea:

Bolognese sauce with red peppers, broccolli, green beans, berries swimming in double cream with a handful of all bran.

2 cups of tea, gallons of water, 1 diet sprite.

Bloss

Bohica · 07/04/2011 21:39

Well done cf on the good old jeans test.

Dinner tonight was ratatouille, steak & ceriac chips.
Didn't like the chips because they tasted like parsnip i burned them

Lunch was ham salad with coleslaw, oh & 2 melba toasts 3.8g carb.

Bloody starving now though Smile I'm thinking of cutting my long hair really short so I am hunting the net for ideas.

ConstanceFelicity · 07/04/2011 21:57

Right.
Salad with ham and seeds.
Soup with a few lentils, tomato and veg. It was gorgeous.
One coffee.
One tea.
Water.
Weigh-in tomorrow morning... Am very scared I'll be disappointed as I've exercised a lot this week and may have gained muscle.

CointreauVersial · 07/04/2011 22:34

Well done CF - I can just picture you like that girl in the Special K ads - twirling in front of a mirror admiring your slimline rear-view, with jolly music in the background. Grin

I am struggling with my wardrobe at the moment - I've dug out all my summer faves to find out that a lot of it just hangs off me. As I've never been this trim in my adult life I don't have any clothes to slim into. Random things are annoying - I have a gorgeous leather belt that I can't wear because it won't go tight enough! I know it's a good excuse to go shopping, but there are a few things in the wardrobe I still like, dammit!

Bloss - your meals sound fine, nice kind of diet, isn't it?

FBB, another yummy-sounding recipe! Courgette fritters at the weekend, possibly....

ConstanceFelicity · 08/04/2011 08:23

Nowhere near that thin, CV, but dreaming of it... :o

I am well aware that I'm being annoying by going on about dropping a dress size and that I'll have a week very soon when I've lost nothing. Which will be annoying. But I have lost another half a stone this morning and am 12st1 :) All that walking seems to have done something. Thank goodness for mountains! Saying that, after the size 14 breakthrough, I have unearthed a pair of size 16s I'd forgotten about which are pretty snug... Confused

FreeButtonBee · 08/04/2011 08:30

Cv - it was sarraburd's recipe definitely worth trying.

I hear you re not fitting into certain things that you like. Most of my shorts are now borderline too big. Also have a lovely leather plaited wide waist belt that just hangs. Plus two new-last-year expensive bikinis which are ridiculous.as you say, good excuse to go shopping!

Ormirian · 08/04/2011 12:19

Hello all.

A few oz lost Hmm but on the bright side nothing gained! And I am running so much better. I don't feel so heavy and exhausted.

I am still lowish-carbing. No bread or potatoes. I am eating a little rice and oats and had a small amt of pasta the other day but that will be a one-off I think. Not going overboard on the fruit either but am allowing myself a few bits a day. Cutting back on the butter and cream and cheese.

I am hungrier I must admit but still feeling OK.

Ormirian · 08/04/2011 12:21

Hey CF - well done! I can just about get into my 12 jeans and I consider myself lanky Grin Just need to shave off that muffin top now without resorting to surgery

OP posts:
ConstanceFelicity · 08/04/2011 14:08

Revisiting the lanky comment I made, I now feel like a dick. :o It's going to take some bone restructuring on these hips to make me lanky!

FreeButtonBee · 08/04/2011 14:39

Size 10! People, I bought a pair of trousers in a SIZE 10! these ones They are a bit more fitted on me, but the wasitband is comfortable, no muffin-age. I look hot! Woo hoo. I am so excited. I tried the 12s on and they were massive on me. So thought I'd give it a shot, thinking that the 10s would be dreadful. But they are fab. And they will look lovely with a tucked in top to show off my (relatively!) flat stomach. I could do a little dance. But I won't, as I am in the office.

ConstanceFelicity · 08/04/2011 14:43

Do that dance, FreeButtonBee! Size ten! That's bloody brilliant! And Nicole Fahri don't fiddle their sizes like some shops so you are a genuine size ten!

CointreauVersial · 08/04/2011 15:04

Yay! Well done on the Size 10. How much weight have you lost now, FBB?

No-one should feel embarrassed about shouting to the rooftops that they're getting smaller - that's the idea!

Sarraburd · 08/04/2011 16:08

Well done everyone on the weightloss! Woohoo!

I fell off wagon last night with bottle of red wine and amaretto (was so good about the food - why did I think drinking sugar was ok when eating it wasn't?!)

Inspired by sal I did some skipping in the garden on Wednesday with the dcs (dh out so couldn't run). It was great. Another one for you and your girls boh!

No way I'm skipping today though. Lc hangovers are baaaaad.

FreeButtonBee · 08/04/2011 17:09

I've lost just shy of a stone. As of today, 12.5lb but have been bouncing up and down from this weight for the past 3 weeks and have peaked so far ar 13.5lb lost. Aim is to get under 10st by easter but I think that might involve less chocolate and wine than I am currently willing to sacrifice!

I am a shortarse so every lb counts. I will do a special little dance in the loos, just for CF!

ConstanceFelicity · 08/04/2011 20:07

In the loos, FreeButton? I was expecing a Night Fever affair in the middle of the office. :o

Feel like I'm contributing a bit too much to this thread and boring you all to tears with my food listing... Sorry if so...

1 coffee
The last of yesterday's lentil and tomato soup.
Ham salad with a roasted red onion (yum)
A handful of grapes.

Took the baby up the mountain on my back again. It was really hard today for some reason: Had to stop every few steps. But I managed it, and feel better for it.
Have decided to share a curry with my DS (5) tomorrow night instead of eating the whole thing myself. I know it's still not good but want to celebrate mine and DH's 7th anniversary. And I have gone without cheating for 4 weeks! Shock

TheGoddessBlossom · 08/04/2011 21:10

Berries with Greek yog

Salad coleslaw cheese

Almonds

Cauliflower cheese sausages

3 x gin and tonics Blush

Bohica · 08/04/2011 21:24

I think I have been over doing this low carbing & not eating enough of anything for the last 6 days.
I feel dreadfull, dizzy & a funny ringing in my ears Sad

So tonight I've had a bowl of pasta carbonara & although I'm still going to lay off the potatoes & bread I am going to eat fruit & stop looking at the carb content in everything.

Well done fbb & you trousers look lovely, much better than my rolled upto the knee look I was sporting whilst playing dodgeball in the garden to day - had to lie down after 2 minutes Smile

ConstanceFelicity · 10/04/2011 08:33

Right. Yesterday was hard.

2 Coffees
A salad with chicken
Too many strawberries.
A handful of pumpkin seeds.
A lovely gorgeous celebratory curry with pilau rice. I did share it with DS but it would be fair to say I had the lion's share. It tasted much sweeter than usual, perhaps the take away has changed it or maybe my tastebuds are more aware since it's been about 4 weeks since I had any refined sugar.

So it was bad, but it could have been worse. We went out for the day for a picnic and DH and the kids had sandwiches, McCoy crisps and doughnuts. They also had honey ice cream on the beach, and I didn't relent then.
I also went for a sweaty uphill walk and felt lovely after that.

Hope you're all doing well in this wine-in-the-garden weather!

febes · 10/04/2011 08:45

I'm stalling!!! So annoying. I need to tighten up my eating and make sure I'm not letting thing slip in. I have been shredding everyday so it will happen. I still have 30kgs to loose so I hope the stall will break soon.

FreeButtonBee · 10/04/2011 10:14

10 1.75! Finally broke the stone barrier. Woo hoo!

Bit hungover today as was out for posh dinner. Had charcuterie then steak with bearnise sauce plus a few skinny fried (not many of those) i did have a pudding -iles flontante but didn't eatit all as it wasn't that nice. Not enough veg yesterday - must do better today.

Mick Hucknall and Amanda Holden were having dinner at the table next to us! Apparently Mick didn!t wash his hands after going to the loo. For some reason, this didn't surprise us at all!
