Congrats mrs on the loss!

If I link some veggie recipes to you on the WW website, will you be able to see them? I'm not a veggie, but have found some really good veggie recipes on there...

debs39 · 21/03/2011 12:50

am suitably shaken blondes......been and got some tesco cheapy crumpets( 2pp yippee!!), tesco light choices chicken with tom and basil on BOGOF too, and loreal elvive hair shampoo and conditioner on BOGOF but not gonna eat those!!!

PS my problem is am so worried about losing control that i eat zero stuff during the day...almost as if as soon as start on carbs and stuff i lose all control...but you wld've been proud of me with my 2 slices of toast and an options hot chocloate last night!!! Making it up to my 29 dailies!!

NoWayNoHow · 21/03/2011 13:41

Well done debs that's the spirit!

In all seriousness, though, how good would it be if WW started to address some of the reasons WHY we eat. I am absoultely an emotional eater and a bored eater. If I have nothing to do, then I head to the fridge/cupboard. If I've had a crap day, my first instinct is to turn to food.

And debs I know exactly what you mean about fearing that you'll lose control. However, you are exerting a massive amount of control over your eating habits by following WW in the first place: you control your meal planning, you control your shopping list, you control how your food adds up for the day, you control the way in which you plan on using your weeklies, and you control the amount of exercise you do.

I'm one of life's anal admin geeks - with an unpredictable DS, I do find the need to micromanage some things. And that's one of the things I love about WW - it's a massive outlet for me!! Grin

androbbob · 21/03/2011 14:15

Oh I am in pain - self inflicted paid money for pain!

My mid back has been troubling me for months if not years and I got a Groupon deal for a local chiropractic person - so been today and apparently my mid back - the curvy bit - is all out of kilter and my neck has two points that are also out. So she proded and 'cracked' it and it felt great - but now I am sore! It is expected - never doen this before - but working on the 'no pain no gain' like with exercise. Got to do some ice treatment tonight and going back on Thurs morning for some more! She rollered my back with this vibrating thingy which was lovely but sore in a few places where my muscles are over worked. It is probably all related to poor posture at work when on PC and also to ginormous babies Grin.

DS is snoozing on the couch having had a late noght so I am sitting here perusing MN in peace! Trying to sit properly!

Just had some brocolli with grated cheese on top for lunch - one in a range of odd lunches I can do, but the brocolli needed using up and I am doing this paella dish for tea (with chicken) and the points for that are about 12 (I think) so needed a low lunch!

Just updated the infamous spreasheet and it appears you all lost 27 lb this week! I am missing about 3 or 4 regulars though - not sure if they slipped through the net - sparkle, froot, mumto2, willaby - if they are about - need your WI from last week please!! Grin

Ok small one awake now so off to library!

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2011 14:47

mrs well done on loss :)

debs 'pats gently' well done for trying to eat all / tbh I could never survive on 14

androb ouch at back tho have to say I love being cracked Grin

Willabywallaby · 21/03/2011 15:07

Lost 0.5lb last week...

NoWayNoHow · 21/03/2011 15:16

Need help please people! My plan of action whilst being poorly is going slightly awry! Grin

Wasn't very hungry, knew I had 10PP for lunch as have factored in dinner already, so thought I'd be smart and use the PP on good for you, but pointy things. So had half an avo, carrots and reduced fat houmous, and some grilled light halloumi. 8PP. Then needed a little sweet kick, so had an After Eight.

It's now mid afternoon, I'm feeling better, and friggin' STARVING. Oh, and with the joyous prospect of soup for dinner.

Seeing as I have until 13 May to lose 5lbs, shall I just throw this week to the wind and eat when I'm hungry, even though it will take me over my dailies and weeklies?

LittleFriendSusan · 21/03/2011 15:30

Afternoon all :)

Well done to all of the losers this week! WI for me tonight but again not too optimistic as I went over my points budget AGAIN at the weekend... Can only estimate as it was food & drinks at my friend's, but I reckon am about 6 over (and that's having used any activity points too). Garlic mushrooms, aubergine fried in egg & flour & coated with cheese & tomato, dauphinoise potatoes, gammon & veg, and salted chocolate caramel torte with a biscuit base. And wine. Lots of it. Worth it though as it was delicious and had a great day with the girls. Went for a bit of a walk yesterday afternoon, and plan on walking to WI (about 40 minutes or so?) so hoping for a STS (again...)

Just had the prawn noodle salad from the lunch ideas page on the WW site. I'd bought some chilli noodles but not keen on the texture cold. They're straight to wok ones but taste a bit bitty - I wonder if I should have soaked in hot water for a minute or two first? Might try again with standard noodles as I did like the prawns & dressing! I also did the roasted courgette & feta salad last week and it was lush, have bought a bag of courgettes so will be having that again tomorrow I think!

I have nothing much on this weekend (for once!), so the plan is to keep as close to my 29 dailies as I can, and try to get a big loss next week. I need to lose 4.5lb to be in the next stone bracket, so that's my next goal. (Did a sneaky WI on my home scales Sat morning before my over-indulgence and I was just under, but I always weigh about 4lb heavier at WI. But then this morning I was back up again (I know... I am a bad girl for weighing at home, but the scales are just there to tempt me!)

NWNH - your hoummous / halloumi etc lunch sounds yummy. Not sure what you should do today - if WI is tomorrow I think I'd have to try to fill up on fruit / veg & maybe something very low pointed if need be? Depends how bothered you are about a loss this week... (or did you mean throw caution to the wind for the rest of this week?!)

androbbob - hope your back gets better soon and that the pain was worth it!!

Looks like we're having prawns for tea too as need to use them up, anyone got a good curry recipe? Not a creamy one! Would do a stir fry but not really got any stir-fry veg in and would rather not go to the shop as am skint and always end up getting carried away!

Piffle · 21/03/2011 15:34

Well the weekend was going well until we went out last night for Indian
That said we did was the 2.4 miles there and halfway back and I only had breakfast yesterday and we had been at the beach with kid and dogs, walking lots...

I just guessed at 40pp and put it in as a quick add, I still have 13 weeklies left and add to them using activity as I changed my online settings...
According to scales I gained a bit over the weekend but not nearly as much as I feared, I think being active was the key.
I am back on track today!
WI not til Friday so can pull it back by then!

NoWayNoHow · 21/03/2011 15:38

LittleFriend WI is tomorrow morning, so get new weeklies then, amd tbh I think I could like with myself if I sts/gained as I've got a long time to get to goal (aiming for wedding in 7 weeks - 5lbs to lose to take me to the lightest I've been in about 7 years).

Don't plan on stuffing my face today, but don't think I can just not eat vaguely filling stuff for the sake of going over my weeklies for the first time ever...

hmc · 21/03/2011 16:25

Well done on losses mrs and willaby

NoWay - perhaps try drinking big glass of water and eating some zero rated fruit (I often find a glass of water and an apple plus handful of grapes takes the sharp edges off for a little bit)and then see if you still feel hungry? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!

NoWayNoHow · 21/03/2011 17:43

Thanks hmc - not too much of a problem at the mo, as feeling rough again. I think the issue is that when I'm unwell, I don't like fannying about with food. I just want something filling and comforting. The idea of soup tonight is a massive turnoff, so I might just put the 5pp for that towards some honey on toast, or something equally childlike. TOTM as well at the mo, so carbs far more appealing.

Need to stock up on hot cross buns for DS (he goes through them like it's nobody's business!!), so may see what interesting fruit I can get in the reduced aisle at the supermarket! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2011 17:54

claire you can test my theory that not all can eat 49 and lose :)

willa well done on loss - my scales dont have 1/2lbs, maybe if they did, i may have afew 1/2lb loss rather than sts iyswim

noway sounds nice but waste of pp tbh :( nibble on fruit or veg till tonight

susan good luck with wi tonight

piffle sure by fri you will be ok, esp if havnt eaten all 49

noway hope you feel better soon x

bigTillyMint · 21/03/2011 18:15

Well done to all the losers!

hmc I asked in the gym about how hard you would have to work to be exercising at high, and they said - if you feel like it's an 8, 9 or 10 - 10 being dying with exhaustion! - then it's high. I start getting hot and breathing heavily after 2 or 3mins when I work out proper hard, and the machines say my pulse is at 140 - 150Shock, so that must be high?

NoWayNoHow · 21/03/2011 18:34

Right, solved problem. Removed soup from dinner plans, which has left me with 5 dailies and 1 weekly. Just bought a WW pizza oval for 6pp, as well as a couple of cut fruit pots. So, should finish today with zero dailies and zero weeklies left

Will see how WI goes tomorrow am!

Good luck susan for WI tonight, and good luck for anyone else WI tomorrow!

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2011 19:57

noway you should have made o pp soup you daft thing Grin

but yes good luck with tom wi and be interesting what happens if you lose as ate all 49

OP posts:
NoWayNoHow · 21/03/2011 20:01

Too sick, blondes! Needed something that resembled comfort food (hence WW "pizza") and preferably nothing that involved any kind of work whatsoever.

On the plus side, I put the oven on for the pizza, came downstairs to a wierd smell only to open the oven and see the pan that had been put in there by DS, containing the melted remains of 4 plastic ice lolly sticks. Sigh. Just what my sinuses needed.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2011 20:02

oh no :(

kids eh, who would have them Grin

OP posts:
Littlefish · 21/03/2011 20:03

Can anyone help? I've bought some turkey sausages from Sainsburys, but I can't work out how many points they should be.

They weigh 60g each. Anyone care to hazard a guess? Do you think they would be less than pork sausages but more than vegetarian?

immortalbeloved · 21/03/2011 20:09

Hello everyone

Is it ok if I join in? I have just signed up to WW online Grin

I havnt done anything like this for ages so I'm a bit rusty Blush but I have a lot of weight to lose, so fingers crossed, I'm also breastfeeding my new baby so I'm hoping that will help- my daily points seem awfully high though

I'll try not to ask too many stupid questions!

I will start with one though if that's ok? Will I have to buy the shopping and eating out books? I thought all the info I needed would be online but I can't see anywhere that has the points for takeaways etc (apart from a few point values in the articles about eating out)

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2011 20:12

littlefish have you got any nv?

turkey is lean and low,esp turkey mince and NO grisel, so assume sausages are quite loe

imortal welcome and yes i advise buying eog and shopping guide and calculator

blondes Envy Angry Envy
How smug will you look with the tube up one nostril? Grin

I'M HUNGRY!!!!

NoWayNoHow · 21/03/2011 20:21

Hallo immortal! Any questions, ask away! Agree with blondes - Eating Out Guide and Shopping Guide are handy additions. In terms of the ProPOints calculator, there's one on the website on the left hand side of the page which you could use if you don't want to buy the electronic one. Also, in terms of portablility, if you have an iPhone or Android phone, there's a ProPoints calculator app you can download for free...

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2011 20:35
