WynkenBlynkenandNod · 04/04/2011 22:17

Thanks all. Sorry am on phone again so can't catch up. Could I just ask Willaby, what do you know about Bournemouth Collegiate? I hope you don't mind but found you on a thread with it on. Also, do you know anything about Moyles Court? Finally (sorry), anything about Ringwood School and St Edwards, at all ? Many thanks.

froot · 04/04/2011 22:21

My cousins son started at Moyles Court in January wynken so I will see what his mum has to report. he is 13 (or thereabouts) could be 11 or 12 actually Blush ought to know really oughtent I!! his state secondary was seriously failing him - I will find out which one that was too!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 04/04/2011 22:24

Ooo Froot, you star, thank you ! Sorry to take thread off on tangent.

On subject of WW, took friend to Prezzo as her 40th today. Had a light options flatbread with salad and the most divine lemon cheesecake. Was delicious and decided it was about 25 points.

Piffle · 04/04/2011 22:29

Lean meat yes I found it expensive too hence meal plan
I go for bone in chicken thighs in a casserole
Bog of breast for grilling with salad for lunch
Pork fillet is good
I think there are low pp sausages venison from tesco?
Lean steak mince for meatballs/kofta/chilli

CLB1 · 05/04/2011 06:32

Morning!

Just checking in with a quick 0.25lbs off - is this the GREATEST loss in the history of WW?? Wink

Will be back this afternoon to catch up on the thread.

Good luck to anyone else WI!

LoopyLa · 05/04/2011 09:25

GrinGrinGrin Blondes/froot

Love the way you nonchalantly answer that question Blondes with all seriousness. I'm imagining you as a leader being asked that question HAHAHAHA!!! Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2011 10:01

noway it is still a loss :)

loopy i am a very serious person!!

mrskbpw · 05/04/2011 10:23

Morning all

Froot - I am VERY excited that you have half-a-sixpack from Shredding three times a week. I'm really enjoying it (and could fit into my lovely fatface jeans this weekend so it's obviously working despite scales not budging) and the thought of your ripped stomach will spur me on further!

NWNH - glad you made up with your sis. And thanks for words of advice.

I am going to keep going with propoints for now, then reassess when my membership is up for renewal. I might go solo, like some of you suggested, and go back to old points. I've got all the books, loads of recipe books, the scales etc. Will be like going home!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2011 10:39

Reporting in for the day
Bust my ass yesterday decluttering. No housework activity PP??? Shock
I moved a treadmill out to the garage on my own, moved book cases and cupboards up and down stairs!
Then did an evening walk of nearly an hour, was nearly 10 pm by time we sat down!
Today am sticking to lower pp lunch
mushroom/red onion and tomato frittata with salad for 5pp
Dinner is WW spicy italian chicken which is really nice...
Today is my big walking day already done 3pp activity on school/preschool run and do another 3 this afternoon, usually try and do an evening dog walk too for another 2-3 activity pp.
Am tempted to try a shagathon also...
Anything but the shred...
God it hurt

NoWayNoHow · 05/04/2011 13:46

Right, back for proper catch up.

froot sorry for gain, but glad it's a net loss, IYKWIM!

blondes hate to say it, but I would totally ask you first if I havea condom flavour related question!! Grin Hope you enjoyed your Leggera pizza (I've yet to try one, not cos I don't want to, just cos I haven't been to Pizza Express in AGES)

IHeartIona, I'm feeling your Protein Pain on the Purse. TBH we tend ot get chicken in the packs of 7/8 breasts so we can freeze some (about a tenner, but still cheaper than buying a pack of 2/4). Also we keep an eye open for meat on special/reduced as you can take it home and freeze it, even if you aren't going to eat it that night. We find pork is still relativley cheap, so maybe worth looking at some recipes based on chops, etc?

When it comes to mince, I've started swapping beef for Linda McCartney's veggie mince - it's LUSH, much lower in pp values, and much cheaper. Great alternative to put in my cottage pies/lasagnes/spag bols.

wynken glad you enjoyed Prezzo - I really love their menu, and the cool buildings they always put their restaurants in.

mrs - thank you, and yuo're welcome! Hopefully you'll start to see pp working better for you especially with exercise thrown into the mix

piffle you must be shattered!! I reckon all that's at least your 49 weeklies in activity pp!! Wink. Am once again drooling at you menu plan for the day - your ideas are right up my street!

Well, went shopping today - still looking for a dress for the wedding I@m going to next month (I've been informed by DH and DM that the two I linked up on here are "too short" Blush). So, obviously I'm returned those and replaced them with two to other dresses equally as short! Grin My feeling is that I haven't lost 12lbs since Jan just for fun, and I can wear long dresses all day every day - when I'm 82! For now, though, I want to get my legs out!

Got to be honest, haven't enjoyed shopping so much in ages (although I'm fairly certain my credit card isn't enjoying it...) - so nice to put on clothes and not immediately feel, "I can't wear this, I'm too fat, I wish I could lose weight, where's my old body gone" etc etc. I LOVE WEIGHT WATCHERS.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2011 14:23

anyone would think im a sex therapist Grin

noway enjoy shopping

piffle fab exercise/earning pp

iona yes meat is expensive and my dh doesnt think a meal without meat is worth eating

OP posts:
LittleFriendSusan · 05/04/2011 16:23

Froot & Blondes you gave me a good giggle there :)

NWNH - fantastic loss Grin - as blondes says a loss is a loss!

Iona & Piffle - I find food in general has gone up... I buy fish when it's reduced and freeze it, buy bulk chicken breasts / mince from the local market & try to eat veggie several times a week. Salmon often on 3 for £10 so get a couple of packs & a pack of prawns or similar. Works out cheaper to buy big packs of mince and cook extra to freeze / eat for lunch next day.

I was shocked at the price of Quorn mince in Asda the other day - sure it used to be relatively cheap?! NWNH where have you found Linda McCartney mince? I can only find Quorn stuff or supermarket own brand, which I'm not overly keen on...

Lunches I tend to have big plate of salad & pitta bread & houmous / ryvita & LF cheese spread / soup & bread roll so nothing too expensive.

Piffle is the spicy italian chicken on the website? Sounds good! Re. frittata, I would highly recommend the ricotta, tomato & spinach frittata on the BBC Good Food website - we had it last week and was lush - think it worked out around 5PP?

I managed to STS - yay. Week 12 and have only managed a paltry 12lb to date but never gained so I suppose I shouldn't complain! Lots of silver 7s & stones being given out at meeting last night - couple of ladies had lost a stone in 7-8 weeks Envy.

Had pitta & houmous for lunch & doing Cajun Chicken Quinoa later - looks nice but will decide when we've eaten it! Had a very snacky morning as was stuck home with DS waiting for Dr's appointment (DS woke up with blistery rash on forehead) and stressy / agitated... so need to reign myself in a bit! Supposed to be doing C25K with my friend tonight so hopefullly that will help...

Back in a while :)

NoWayNoHow · 05/04/2011 16:42

littlefriend I found Linda MCCartney mince at Waitrose when I went to the one near my folks. It's SO much nicer than the supermarket own brand stuff (which I tried before). Well done on STS!

LittleFriendSusan · 05/04/2011 16:47

Ah, we're not posh enough to have a Waitrose anywhere near here (Got Lidl, Netto, 2 x Aldi, Farmfoods, 2 x Iceland, 2 x Home Bargains, B&M and a Poundland though Grin)

LittleFriendSusan · 05/04/2011 16:47

But they closed our M&S Sad

benbon · 05/04/2011 17:13

hay, had weigh in this morning and have lost 3lbs woo hoo!!! so thats a total of 25lbs so far.... just another 2st 5lbs to go to goal weight!!!! :-s

Piffle · 05/04/2011 17:15

Yes I do WW online and the recipe is called italian spicy chicken...
Easy and nice
I am cross as have bloody thing on my heel which makes shoe wearing painful and DOC said to REST ICE and medicate....
I have to walk or I'm shafted
I have one pair of comfy boots so will soldier on but do less...

NoWayNoHow · 05/04/2011 17:21

Well done, benbon!

LittleFriend, we only went there when visiting my folks who are 20mins away, so don't have a local one. BUT, we actually like their stuff so much we started getting Ocado to deliver. I was VERY anti the idea as we just don't have the cash to splash on "fancy food", but DH was convinced I'd be surprised, so we did a like for like online shop - Ocado £78, Tesco £74! Plus, for £3.99 a month, Ocado give you unlimited deliveries whenever you want - Tesco have the audacity to charge £6.99 Shock for anything at a remotely convenient time!

Honestly, our shopping bill has actually gone down cos online shopping eliminates impulse buys, and as an added bonus the food from Waitrose is so scrummy.

I remember another mum on MN tried an online comparison site for her shopping - she punched in what she'd bought, and it came up (from cheapest to most expensive):

  1. Morrisons
  2. Asda
  3. Waitrose
  4. Sainsbury's
  5. Tesco

!!!

wizzler · 05/04/2011 19:20

Well done Benbon

blondes I'm surprised there's anything left of your halo after the polishing it's had today Wink

Well done wizzler on your loss.

Having Baked Vegetable Frittata for dinner. Smells lovely, and I'm sure will taste lovely at a miniscule 6pp for half of it!.

Indulging in my first G&T of the season, although to be fair I could have picked a slightly better day weather-wise to indulge in my summery drink of choice!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2011 20:24

noway i am determined to lose a lb, so that means i cant eat more than 20weekies
