debs well done you! That's a massive distance to cover, no matter how slowly you were going.

Well, someone call Heston Blumenthal and tell him he's out of a job!

I just made the most lush dinner ever, and the whole recipe came straight from my brain with no outside help at all! (yes, I realise this is what chefs do all the time, but give me my moment in the sun!!)

I cut up half a butternut squash (0pp) into fairly large, bite-sized cubes and boiled it until tender. In the mean time, sliced up and halved the slices of 50g chorizo (4pp) and fried it (with low-fat spray) in a pan with some diced onion. When the butternut was ready, I added it to the pan with the chorizo, and stirred in some spinach and peppadews until the spinach wilted.

Very yummy and I'm stuffed!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/04/2011 18:57

After studying menu gonna have a chicken wrap as quite low in PP and need weelies for tomorrow and mothers day

nwnh - I never cook! Ding meals, steamed veg, snacks...but never never cook...am a bad mother...small survives on meat, veg and potato style dinners...

Debs, thanks for the link
BNS Concoction sounds delish Noway, you should give it a fancy name!

Piffle · 02/04/2011 20:31

Bit wayward here
Way too much beer last night Blush
no activity today though did gardening, lots of digging.
Had takeaway curry tonight to celebrate cricket win for India
I ordered chicken tikka ( starter size) and salad
Had small amount of DH's spicy curry sauce and spoonful of rice and small bit of his naan bread
Drink g again though
Will get active tomorrow and eat light try to repair it!

NoWayNoHow · 02/04/2011 20:35

debs, what's so weird is that I had never cooked anything other than a ding meal in my life until I started WW (first time round, a few years ago). I felt that the only way I could make it work for me was to have a massively varied diet, and lo and behold whilst I varied my diet, I realised that I can actgually cook! This was a massive relief, as DH's culinary talents stretch to king prawn risotto (not a bad thing to have for a signature dish, admittedly) and giant yorkshires filled with mash and sausages and veg!

blondes pmsl at needing your "weelies"!!

I also need my "weelies" for tomorrow morning's family tea - have 33 left till Tues a.m., so hoping that'll be enough for my aunt's renowned and delicious cheese scones, and my grans victoria sponge.

Right, off to watch "Inglorious Basterds" for the first time! Have a lovely Saturday night all!

Piffle · 02/04/2011 21:03

Great film do enjoy it!!!

benbon · 02/04/2011 21:32

hay can any one guesstimate what a shakeaway milkybar milkshake would be??? bad i know, but i gave in to the pressure!!!

LoopyLa · 02/04/2011 21:54

Hey everyone, how are we all?

Just a quick one from me (thank goodness it's now safe to come out into the open, well done Blondes!). I have lost another lb this week so very happy with that expecially as I had 2 really bad days on thurs/fri - way too much chocolate, pizza, chocolate, wine, more chocolate Blush

Anyway quite pleased. Have gone out for a meal this evening & used almost all my weeklies in 1 sitting so going to be good & strict for the rest of the week...yes I am, yes I am, yes I am...honest Hmm

JoJoBaldwin · 03/04/2011 07:46

Sounds a yummy concoction NoWay, hope you enjoyed the film, it's a good one!

So glad to be back on the straight and narrow today. I drank the last 3 nights so by last night was just exhausted and not feeling like being social at all, but it was arranged. Had good time, though watching a drunk comic in a drunk audience while worse for wear myself did start to feel a bit stupid after a while.

And then I got my hand kissed by a tramp!

Don't think I'll be going for a pub crawl in London any time again soon, spent a ridiculous amount of money (was charged £5 for 2 bottles of water!!!!!!!!!! and one bar tab came to £56!!!!!!!!!). Next time I want to get sloshed with my pal I think we'll got to the park and drink White Lightning with the teenagers. Grin

NoWayNoHow · 03/04/2011 08:46

Well done loopy on your loss!

JoJo and debs didn't quite get through the film, not because I was't enjoying (what I saw was BRILLIANT!), but I realised at 10pm that there was still 1hr45mins left of it and knew there was no way I would stay awake! So have left the rest for tomorrow night when DH is out.

Had a lovely lie in this morning till 8:30, need to be at the "Tea To Cane All Weeklies" in and hour and a half, so I'm not even bothering with breakfast - it would be a waste of the points I'm so desperately going to need!

To all the mums, hope you're having a good day and getting spoilt.

Is anyone WI today?

CLB1 · 03/04/2011 08:54

Happy mothers day all, just a quick one to wish all youyummy mummys a loverly mothers day.

vnmum · 03/04/2011 09:38

happy mothers day to all mummy's.

I had my lie in yesterday so believe it or not i was up with the kids and DH is still in bed! I don't have any plans for today so as it is looking like it is going to be an ok day weather wise i might suggest a family walk to feed the ducks or something. I am going to get DH up in a bit so i can go for a run (not been for over 2 weeks due to a bad chest but getting itchy feet so need to see how i get on) as i have points to make up (bad vnmum).

I'm still struggling to get in the zone but i am doing a meal plan and online shop today so i can get back on track

well done loopy

It seems like most people had a good (but not necessarily good WW) weekend with all the drinking and eating going on. I too remember the teenage years in the park (long time ago).

Hope everyone has a nice day today

wizzler · 03/04/2011 10:15

Morning all . Having a lovely day with lots of hugs from DCs, and a bunch of squished daffs!.. aaw. Also cards with tissue paper flowers. A shame the presentation occured at 06:30am, but I wouldnt change it really.

DM and DMIL coming for lunch so best get cracking.

Enjoy your day everyone.. back to the grind tomorrow!
( Not that kind of grind Blondes.. Hmm)

HeyH0 · 03/04/2011 12:30

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Blondes, I'm glad to hear that mixing up your eating/exercise habits produced results. :)

So, I'm back on track with a 2kg (4.4lb) loss. Grin I went over weeklies prior to my previous two weigh-ins, largely due to wine related birthday shenanigans; miraculously it did no damage. Banning vino last week & only scoffing 14 weeklies has paid off... wonder if I can manage another wine free week? Hmm

hmc · 03/04/2011 15:15

Happy Mothering Sunday everyone (or as my dyslexic 8 year old dd wrote on my card 'Happy Moths Day' - still I was pleased she got the double 'p' in 'happy', bless her. We've been teasing her about ecstatic winged insects all day long, she doesn't mind!)

We've been for a walk along Bournemouth beach with the dogs, but back now and the dc watching tv, whilst dh slumbers in an armchair after the unaccustomed effort involved in taking on the cooking and cleaning responsibilities today.

Well done on your loss Loopyla and HeyHo. Loopyla I regularly finish off nearly all my weeklies in one go - I have weigh in on Wednesday evening and as soon as I get home I jump headlong into my 49 shiney new weeklies - ate 30 of them this week on first night!

JoJo - did the tramp whiff a bit? At least he didn't try and french you!

Piffle - don't worry about the beer consumption. We can't be angels all the time, bet it won't make much difference to your weigh in this week if you are good for the rest of the time

Blondes - hope you enjoy the Biggest Loser DVD when it comes, I'm still aching from Friday's session using it. The strength section with weights is best because it is tough enough to make you sweat and get puffed as well as build lean muscle

Willabywallaby · 03/04/2011 15:23

hmc we had lunch in Vesuvio today, you would've a stone's throw away! I had a Mother's Day lie down after. Not pp today.... Blush

vnmum · 03/04/2011 16:00

we drove to southampton last weekend and commented on how close bournemouth is. we are going to have a day out there soon. Obviously some of us are in the same neck of the woods nearly.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2011 17:16

'waddles in'

eaten lamb shank, buttery mash and veg and gravey

was yummy

said no to pudding

OP posts:
hmc · 03/04/2011 17:17

willaby - we were walking past Vesuvio at around 12.10 and it was empty (we didn't realise that lunch didn't start until 12.15) so we tethered the dogs outside and tried our chances at getting a table - of course they were booked solid for Mothering Sunday....and who would have thought you were one of their bookings! What are the chances??

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2011 17:20

willa every mummy is allowed today off and no counting pp Grin

NoWayNoHow · 03/04/2011 17:39

Well done heyho on fantastic loss!

Hope all mums have had a good day.

I ate nothing but scone, victoria sponge and sausage rolls today. Used a hefty 44pp! Feel absolutely horrid now though, so nauseous... Does anyone else find that if they load up on high cal, high sat fat goods when they've not had them for a while, then they feel sick? This often happens to me - probably a good thing, my body letting me know it's not the right way to eat.

wizzler · 03/04/2011 18:41

Oh god.. have been given Malteser Bunnies for mothers day... a true test of willpower. ( Don't think its a test I am going to pass!)

On the bright side, while waiting for DD to finish her tea ( she takes hours!) I nonchalantly weighed items from the cupboards to the value of my weight loss since Xmas, stuck it in a carrier bag and then picked it up... OMG.. that is one heavy carrier bag. Am now v. smug, and have renewed commitment to the cause. Even DH is quite impressed.

( Not sure if I have enough commitment to avoid the Malteser Bunnies though) Grin
