Did that thing where I lost a sodding post just as I was about to publish it [grrr].

JoJo - agree with Noway, Davina dvds are great (as long as you don't mind Davina). I have Davina Fit and Davina Buff and feel properly knackered after doing them. Also the Hannah Waterman DVD and Nadia Sawahla DVD are very good too. I find all of these much more enjoyable than Shred, which despite my admiration of Jillian, I find completely joyless and a miserable penance (its just a very boring routine imo). I won't knock it too much though since it has a devoted following, it does work, and it is only 20 minutes

If you look up some of these DVDs on Amazon you can read all the reviews, some of them are quite detailed and informative.

ClaireDeLoon · 24/03/2011 09:56

If anyone wants the davina dvd I have they're more than welcome, happy to post out for free. No idea which one it is though :o I'm sticking with my mate Jillian.

Well done willaby benben hmc and shoulders on great losses and good luck for those weighing in today.

Welcome CLB :o

hmc · 24/03/2011 10:01

I'd take CDL up on that offer if I was you jojo Grin

  • Do you really not find Shred just a teeny bit boring CDL? What do you like about it? (curious)

I don't find it boring because I'm struggling to breath/move/not fall over. Also as I'm an accountant I'm used to boredom :o I like that its no nonsense and down to earth and over in 20 mins. Also for me I'm still doing the 'Anita' moves so I still have room for progression within it. I've got BFBM to have a go at too.

hmc · 24/03/2011 10:11

lol at the accoutancy reference! Yes I do see what you mean.....can you do proper press ups (me - no!)

hmc · 24/03/2011 10:13

SueW - may I ask, what sort of thing does your personal trainer do with you?

Also - wow! at your weight loss. Any before and after photos you might be willing to share?

(chides self -MUST get on with some work now)

LoopyLa · 24/03/2011 10:22

Also, please can anyone offer some good low PP options for EAT? I am going there tomorrow for lunch & love the soups & soup pots but have no idea which ones are best for low PP?

Piffle · 24/03/2011 10:32

Well today I am having...

All Bran and semi skim and banana 4PP

Spinach, chorizo tortilla and salad 5PP

Maple and Soy pork fillet, saute spuds and green beans 11PP

Plus I will have 6 activity PP today

And 9 pp for snacking, I may treat myself to an ice lolly with the kids after school or eat the other half of the tortilla Grin
I've not eaten all my weeklies this week
Dailies as follows
45 Blush beer Activity 8PP
44 Blushbeer Activity 10PP
57 Blush Indian blowout Activity 12PP
30 Activity 5PP
26 Activity 10PP
37 Activity 6PP
29 (today) Activity at least 6PP

I have 7 weeklies left but will NOT be consuming them!
I lost 4 kgs very fast sticking to it by the letter (no weeklies except modest alcohol weekends) the first 2 weeks
So I expect a STS or minimal loss this week though am being angelic today in vain hope!

I'm not convinced I'll lose much, but we shall see
Hubby has lost TONS about 3-4 kgs this week!

He is struggling to eat his daily points as I cook such healthy dinners!

Piffle · 24/03/2011 10:45

he gets 47 points
he is 5ft 9 and was 15 stone

Hi and welcome sue!

hmc I did EXACTLY the same thing - wrote out a massive post, and lost it 5 seconds before having to leave for bank Angry. Congrats on a great loss!

Congrats too to willaby, benben and shoulders!!

loopy feeling a little better today, thanks - still have sinuses from hell and a cough, but the weakness has abated a bit so at least I can get out and about today in the sunshine!

I fell apart at Starbucks today - they have these new lollipop-looking things called mini bites, and I ate the Rocky Road one Blush. I'm guessing that was about 5/6PP... And that's on top of the Nando's I had for dinner last night - 24PP!

Somebody kick me swiftly up the arse before I eat ALL my weeklies in one fell swoop!! Grin

Piffle · 24/03/2011 12:54

I have a kettlebell
Under a thick layer of dust...

Could you explain the exercise a touch more?
I was taught the swing, the jerk and around the world and one handed switch
...
Tiring!!!

LoopyLa · 24/03/2011 13:01

Hi all,
I STS this week but thats not surprising coz i only got back on track halfway through the week but at least i didn't gain anymore. Anyway i am back on it with a vengeance as i want to be at my goal weight or below before i go to a new class otherwise i will have to pay again (I am still within my 5lb gold limit in the mornings but the class down here is in the evening which would mean i'd probably weigh 2lb heavier so would weigh in at class as over my gold limit IYSWIM)

So far i have had
Oat so simple with skim milk and banana - 7pp (milk is for the day too)
Salad with sweet chilli chicken - 3pp
mullerlight - 2pp

for dinner is spag bol with extra lean steak mince and homemade sauce - 4pp
I am having wholemeal pasta with it and have budgeted for 200g cooked -7pp as i have loads of points left but not sure if that is too much pasta as i was going to try and limit my carbs

Anyway, i've not caught up on the thread yet so well done to any losers and welcome any newbies

suew Go on, be brave and post the before and after pics. I did and it wasn't that embarrassing in the end. Maybe we could end up with a whole gallery of mumsnetters before and after pics, that would be a good magazine article (anything for a free makeover Grin)

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 24/03/2011 14:46

Loopy I tend to have one or two crumpets for breakfast with light Philadelphia 6pp sometimes I have a grapefruit as well. Lunches are often soup, or ryvita with wafer thin meat and a big salad. Today I had an m&s ready meal though!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/03/2011 14:48

claire i was thinking about what you said last night, then came across the post on ww boards just now Grin

i drew a circle Blush

but if they say 14 goes on carbs, that half my daily allowance and ww are always saying carbs dont fill you up - so doesnt make sense

plus is an egg dairy or protein?

OP posts:
Piffle · 24/03/2011 14:48

I just did todays food on another iphone app I have for dieting
it plots me to eat 1436 cals daily to achieve my target weight

All food totals 1160 only and that uses 30 daily PP!!!
I have done 369 cals of exercise

Shock

So a combined total leaves me consuming 791 cals once I deduct exercise cals

Seems very low

Hmm
Blondeshavemorefun · 24/03/2011 14:48

vnmum well done for sts :)

Wow this thread moves fast Grin

I'm having a bit of a hard time keeping up Blush mind you I have trouble remembering my own name at the moment, dc no.6 is 4 weeks old and does not like to sleep Grin

I am so impressed with the will power shown on this thread. Blondes I really hope you have a loss tomorrow, it seem so unfair that you are so good and the plan isn't working for you

I think I'm doing ok, I'm on day 4 now but I'm really not sure it's going to work for me, my points just seem so high! I know it's because my weight is so high and I'm breastfeeding but even so, I'm worried it's not going to work. I will stick with it though

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/03/2011 15:38

thanks imortal imnot holding my breath lol

ww pp started off well and i won the prize fr the fist 7 lbs lost but went tits up since then :(

wow at 6 dc - what ages are the others?
