Just reading about it is energising me!

solo · 10/03/2011 22:12

Just dipping in to say that I can put on/take off one of my pairs of jeans without undoing them and I need a smaller belt!!! Grin
Well done everyone, you are all doing really well!

missmakesstuff · 10/03/2011 22:37

Thanks PPeatfruit, will give that a go, eat a fair bit of porridge so shouldn't be difficult to get a bit of molasses in me, just have to find some. Did second day of couch to 5k today, my legs were really aching all day but had a shite day at work so needed the fresh air. I've a feeling I am really going to ache tomorrow!
Just can't wait till the summer as its dark when I go out at the moment.

The eating has been ok, I am finding that I am eating a fair amount during the day, not really very consciously, as I am so busy I am just cramming food when I can, then I'm just not hungry in the evening. Not doing a lot for social eating as a family, but then we didn't do that much anyway, we all get in and need to eat at different times during the week.

I just need to try and slow down during the day, so hard though, mostly eat at my desk, barely left my room today, will get about 20mins for lunch tomorrow, if that!

Really don't know if I have lost any weight - think I lost a bit right at the start, a month or so ago, but don't feel like it's going now. Will wait until the weigh in in the journal though, maybe I will surprise myself!

Heres wishing everyone a good Friday!

missmakesstuff · 10/03/2011 22:38

Oooh, sorry, meant to say, well done Solo! New jeans time?

mummyosaurus · 11/03/2011 07:18

Have a good day missmakestuff

Way to go solo!

I tried my next size down jeans this morning and they go up, but won't do up. But it's better than it was.

solo · 11/03/2011 09:29

Thank you!!! no, no new jeans. I have plenty that are still too small for me and I'll continue to be uncomfortable hitch up and wear the loose ones until I can get into the smaller sizes...I seem to be inbetween sizes right now.

Yesterday I went to my (late) Dad's firms dinner (lunch) with Mum and as I was scoffing my dinner and feeling full and uncomfortable, I could hear actually hear Paul saying to me 'when you are full, STOP' but this little A.N.Other on the other shoulder saying 'you rarely go out to dinner eat it all. Blush I did leave some though, so that was good. Did I mention that two ladies asked me if I'd lost weight?!!! Two ladies asked me if I'd lost weight!!! Grin

ppeatfruit · 11/03/2011 09:57

Brilliant Solo.mummysaurus and missmakestuff You can get molasses from any health food shop or in the 'healthy section' of Spmkts or with the honeys etc.?

BsshBossh · 11/03/2011 11:12

Week 2 Update

Okay, I'm a day early before my second week of Pauling is up but I couldn't help mysef: I weighed in at half a stone or 7 lbs lighter Smile.

I've noticeably slimmed down from my arms, legs, face and stomach.

I'm really enjoying this natural way of eating but I could do more, I think, to really eat only when hungry and to eat to satisfed and not to full. This is what I want to work on over the next two weeks.

Aside from speed walking (which I do a few times a week for 30 mins or so) I'm not going to up the exercise in the next fortnight. However, I have The Shred video ready and waiting for me when I decide to up the ante.

mummyosaurus · 11/03/2011 11:44

Bssh - Fantastic! Shred is great and because it only takes 20 mins it's easier to get started on it.

Solo, that is lovely to hear.

All these positive vibes are spurring me on. I really struggle at weekends, so one meal at a time...

PPeatfruit, will get into a health food shop and give the molasses a go. Ta.

Hope everyone's having a fab friday, sun is shining here, washing out on the line, visiting friends this afternoon, feeling positive.

harleychick · 11/03/2011 12:18

Hi all, its taken me aaages to catch up on here! you all write loads!
Ive not been here much, hectic life with the teenage kids! ive been really into the 'Pauling' though, and ive found its made a massive difference in so many ways!
I think my weight has gone down (not weighed!) but my clothes are looser, but aside from that I feel so much happier and better! niggly health issues are getting better by themselves, and I feel im in a happier place!
I have noticed I dont remember much of the 'trance' though, what ever he says, its working!!!
Well done to all of you!!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 11/03/2011 12:32

Im still managing to Paul 100% every single day! I think I have finally cracked it, and Im doing it naturally now. Just had a small plate of cheesey nachos for lunch - mmmm!

franch · 11/03/2011 13:30

Solo, Bssh and others - really well done. Great to read your news. HowToLook, too - fantastic - I aspire to being able to Paul 100% for even one day!

Don't know why it hasn't clicked for me yet. I'm eating consciously most of the time; eating what I want (that bit is easy!); but not always looking out for signs of fullness. Also sometimes not even waiting till I'm hungry, simply due to awkward scheduling. So not doing great.

Who does the tapping? It's something I'd mostly need when in public, so I haven't tried it yet. I keep talking about doing the aversion thing - I should try it on Nutella or something else addictive that I don't mind dropping entirely from my diet - but haven't brought myself to do it yet. Are these techniques on the additional CDs? I think I'd do them better if he talked me through them.

In spite of a few binges (admittedly fewer than normal), I have lost 2lb in the first 2 weeks. Not earth shattering but just think what I'll lose when I actually start Pauling properly! Just hope I start to 'get it' soon .......

whomovedmychocolate · 11/03/2011 13:31

I have a stinking cold and am knackered today! :(

But we had the evil ones estate agents round today to measure up. They are coming back next week with their minions of doom photographers and environmental assessment chaps. So that's all trucking along.

Been to the dentist - I have a calcium deficiency. Not surprised TBH. Am doing something about it. Possibly involving horse sized pills. Have to go see the hygienist next week for a viakal treatment (or something like that anyway).

Onwards and upwards everyone, let's have a great weekend! :)

OP posts:
franch · 11/03/2011 13:45

Would anyone be able to lend me the extra CDs????? I am so in need of some extra help!

franch · 11/03/2011 14:36

PS Pep talks of all kinds also gratefully received, though your example alone is inspiration enough to keep going :)

ppeatfruit · 11/03/2011 15:20

Franch Have you googled P.M. I Can make you Thin yet? it gives you more motivation also the 'chew 20 times' really does get it all working!!WMMC try taking magnesium for deficiency it helps to metabolise calcium.

whomovedmychocolate · 11/03/2011 17:19

ppeatfruit - I'll be trying whatever frankly but the basic problem is I have been pregnant or breastfeeding continually for the last five and a half years! And I don't drink a lot of milk, nor have I eaten particularly healthily until recently.

But I weighed myself and *I'm now within the 'normal weight range' for my height. Grin

OP posts:
HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 11/03/2011 17:56

Franch - Ive only had one day where I felt a slight urge to eat when not hungry, so I listened to the eotional eating CD and did teh tapping - it worked! The rest of the time, Im really not craving anything or wanting to eat unless I am hungry. It took me over 2 weeks to get to this stage though! I have an easy schedule (sahm) so I can eat when I am hungry, and I carry nuts/cereal bars/crisps in my handbag when I am out & about.

I only use 2 of the CDs - secrets of naturally thin people and occasionally the emotional eating one. I havent felt the need for the others yet. I prefer the "secrets" CD to the free one with the book.

I really hope it clicks fo ryou soon, it really is sooo much easier when it fall sinto place - no effort required!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 11/03/2011 17:56

Well done WMMC!!!

franch · 11/03/2011 18:56

Thanks peatfruit, will have a look.

I find chewing 20 times quite easy but need to slow it down instead of chomping away!

BsshBossh · 11/03/2011 20:00

Congrats WMMC! Also, Franch, 2lbs is really good weight loss - they always say slower weight loss is best for the body and more sustainable in the longrun and remember that you are in this for the longrun.

Something I forgot to add in to my End of Week 2 update post earlier is that "it's good to feel hungry". I like the hollow feeling in my tummy, the little gurgles my tummy makes. It really makes me enjoy my meals more. Also, it's okay to feel hungry.

Okay, off to eat a seared tuna steak and rocket salad with toasted pinenuts and orange zest. My DD is being Christened tomorrow and we are hosting a party for 20. Bring on the cake!!!!!

whomovedmychocolate · 11/03/2011 20:02

Gosh your dinner sounds nice BsshBossh.

I had an interesting experience yesterday. I ate a tiny bit of chocolate brownie because the kids said it tasted funny and I wanted to check it wasn't off (we were in a cafe). I could taste that is was chocolate and that it was sweet but I had absolutely no emotional reaction whatsoever - I could have been eating a dry cracker - in fact I think I'd have actually preferred that. It was like nothing Shock.

Quick message to share this terrific mindful eating/intuitive eating blog with you:

mummyosaurus · 11/03/2011 20:47

Great news on your new range WMMC

Franch well done on the 2 lbs. I do the tapping and find it's amazing. I need to do it more as I am still struggling with eating consciously in the evenings and can't wean myself off chocolate. I don't want to let go of enjoying it.

UrsulaBuffay · 11/03/2011 22:05

Really pleased to read of everyone's good news.

I have spent the week mainlining bread and white flour products & feel terrible. I have comfort eaten terribly through the anniversary of my Gran's death and am out the other side.

I have always felt that I have some sort of intolerance to flour or wheat or whatnot and as of tomorrow I am doing an experiment in giving it up.

I need to start Pauling and get some lovely healthy food in.
