(tell me to shut up if I'm getting annoying. DS already has!)

blinder · 09/03/2011 20:18

JuicyOlive you are cheering me up! Had a draining toddler day and I am just preparing for the banned-by-human-rights-conventions torture that is baby's bedtime.

'Put your vest on darling! Please stay still! No don't bonk mummy on the head! Ow! Yes those are my eyes. Let's just put your arm. In. This. Hole. Time for milk. Ouch! Don't say teddy when you're feeding darling. P l e a s e go to sleep.' etc etc.
Oh the humanity!

They ARE nice boots. Grin

We need a nice new sparkly title for our next thread, we are filling this one up fast!

UrsulaBuffay · 09/03/2011 21:05

Yes something to do with 'sloooowly practising tenaciously' never to diet again!!

I have been terrible today, I have left it until I was shaking before eating and then inhaled loads of food. Bad couple of days for me because of a death anniversary type situation but shouldn't be any excuse and don't think it's been for comfort, just my head too full to think about Pauling.

Come on here to get some positivity & certainly got it Grin

mummyosaurus · 09/03/2011 21:20

Sorry to hear your facing a sad anniversary Ursula. I hope Pauling will go better tomorrow.

UrsulaBuffay · 09/03/2011 21:25

Thank you Mummyosaurus, I will try to stay 'conscious' :)

whomovedmychocolate · 09/03/2011 22:40

JuicyOlive - I see you have joined me on Planet feelsofuckinggoodIcoulddoajig Wink

It's utterly charming and lovely to see you this way! :)

Well I'm back from Aikido. Very hard work but lots of fun and am high as a flipping kite on the endorphins. Am now chilling out with a cup of decaf coffee and planning tomorrow.

Thanks PPeatfruit - will try the massage thing - when you say from ankle up, you mean when legs are up against the wall, then massage down the legs? I know it is probably a circulation thing, my feet are deathly cold all the time. Have managed to listen to the original CD all the way through, the one that came with the book - but not the others - they are the ones that seem to make me all fidgety - very odd! Will look into the evening primrose - used to use it for awful period pain, know its good for skin and hormones, didn't know it helped with aches and pains.

Have had a good day, back is a bit stiff, but not as bad as I thought it might be, looking forward to my next run tomorrow night. I am feeling pretty confident, although definitely overate today, not really sure why, think its just being too busy to eat consciously during the day. although saying that, both evenings haven't then been hungry for dinner until around 9pm, and have eaten tiny amounts.

DD is obviously trying to help me as she only ever wants what I have on my plate to eat, not hers - squeals at me until I hand it over, even if she has just finished eating and is full. Certainly helps me eat less, what with leaving something on my plate I am eating about half!

ktwiltshire · 10/03/2011 05:48

morning everyone!! early start filling in for someone at work (again, did it yesterday too). spent most of last night in a+e with DD3, she has a tummy bug and was white as a sheet and vommitting, finally got her to keep some rehydration fluids down late last night, so shes off school for a couple of days :(

ok, off to catch the bus!! back later!

whomovedmychocolate · 10/03/2011 07:18

Poor DD3 ktwiltshire. Hope she feels better soon (and that you don't catch it).

mummyosaurus · 10/03/2011 07:44

Hope everyone has a good day today, especially kwiltshires DD3.

A little boy at DDs school had to go to hospital with this bug as well, it's flippin nasty. He couldn't shake it off for 2 weeks until a nurse friend said a tummy bug can make you lactose intolerant for a bit. Following that advice got him well. (sorry for unsought advice - just in case it's helpful, I am relaying all this from a facebook post, but know the nurse and she is full of uses).

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/03/2011 08:20

Has anyone read Kevin Layes book, Positive Shrinking? I remember him netioning it at the seminar, and Im tempted to read it.

arfur · 10/03/2011 10:14

Hello all - had an funny couple of days. Tues ran in the am and then at 4pm was in town with kids and realised I hadnt eaten a thing all day but didnt feel hungry despite the running very odd ate some tea altho didnt feel terribly hungry so didnt eat much then DS burnt his hands in a how not to grab a frying pan to flip a pancake incident (hes fine just superficial burns thank god but oh the guilt Sad). Yesterday went to waitrose and actually didnt want anything sweet (1st time ive thought what do I really want and thought savoury - progress methinks) so had a yummy cheese and tomato roll and overate and overate at tea too with chicken caesar salad Confused. Just been for run and dont think Ill be hungry till late lunch time (am getting better at working out how much will keep me going for how long if you see what I mean).
Am on week 8 of couch to 5k and up to running for 28 mins without stopping which is tough but worth it - I think! Kevin Layes book is in my amazon basket at the moment HTLGG think it might be quite interesting.

arfur · 10/03/2011 10:16

Sorry - being a bit me me me there. Forgot to say well done everyone - so lovely to pop on here and see how everyones doing whenever you need a boost xx Definitely think we should try to have a meet-up sometime - maybe summertime?

ppeatfruit · 10/03/2011 11:09

Yes missmake on the acupressure points which are down on the whole outside of the leg and up on the inside(right up to the groin!).Also dried basil in yr cooking and a spoonful of molasses helps circulation.

ppeatfruit · 10/03/2011 11:14

The molasses is amazing (once you get used to the taste!)I use it instead of sugar in porridge, it actually stops yr hair going grey I know 'cos it's working for me!!

mummyosaurus · 10/03/2011 11:34

I am in for a summer meet up. It would be great.

GlitterHo · 10/03/2011 14:59

hello all
hope you are good

I'm not as hungry I've noticed that , I used to alweays be hungry, thinking No I cant eat ! then going mad

BsshBossh · 10/03/2011 15:58

Hello *GlitterHo", it really sounds like you're getting the hang of it Smile.

I've had the day off work and spent much of the day catching up on all the TV shows I've recorded. I don't feel guilty at all for spending a free day watching TV as I don't watch much TV usually. Have been knitting all day too Smile.

Anyway, most of the programmes I've been catching up on are food programmes Blush. The Great British Food Revival was all about making and eating bread and I was salivating the whole way through as DH loves baking and there was a seeded loaf of his in the kitchen just begging to be toasted and eaten with butter. I was so tempted but then I stopped and really thought about it: I wasn't hungry so I wouldn't eat it but a slice or two would be just the thing I would eat later once hunger hit.

I never used to wait to eat something I liked. I used to eat it immediately.

Now you can bet that the toasted, buttered slice will taste even more heavenly now that I am waiting to be hungry for it Smile.

whomovedmychocolate · 10/03/2011 16:31

Just carried the kids round in backpacks for five hours. I thought I was sore this morning but apparently there is a whole world of pain I've been missing out on Hmm

But our offer on the house has been accepted. Now we just need to sell this place and we're off! Grin

ppeatfruit · 10/03/2011 16:58

It's true now i've got the hang of the chew 20 times it is amazing how long i can go between meals (I've really only been doing it for about a week) Blush. Congrats wmmc!

mummyosaurus · 10/03/2011 17:00

Where do you get molasses?

Tescos have:

Billingtons Molasses Sugar

But that's not it is it?

Congrats on the house WMMC. Will yours be easy to sell?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/03/2011 17:00

Going for another nice beach walk this evening :)

whomovedmychocolate · 10/03/2011 19:33

Our house may be very easy to sell or very hard. I don't know really. Someone is interested but he's talking to his bank. We live in a very unusual property with a chapel in the garden which has planning consent to turn into a house. So it's of interest to developers or people who actually need a split household. Actually it's ideal when DH and I fight as he can go live next door till we've both calmed down Wink

Ooh I wish I lived near the sea Howtolookgoodglaikit Envy

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 10/03/2011 20:11

It was freezing! I may live by the sea, but its the North Sea in NE Scotland and it was soooo cold! Lovely though, I feel very energised!
