Welcome GlitterHo
Would love to stop and chat, but need to go out and pick up DS. Someone will be along soon I'm sure to explain what we're all trying to do. The thing with this programme is that it should change your relationship with food. In fact, I disagree with the thread title which says it's your last diet - as it's not a diet as such. (Sorry wmmc). I was sceptical as were many others. But there is nothing to lose by trying it out and it allegedly works for 70% of people whereas diets only work for 10% IN THE LONG TERM.
Really sorry got to dash.

And a big hug too - I DO know how you feel.

whomovedmychocolate · 08/03/2011 16:09

JuicyOlive - alas I have already made the estate agents pull it from the website - can't have anyone else looking at it and putting in counteroffers can I? Wink - I could email you the PDF though.

no worries - just being a nosy cow interested

whomovedmychocolate · 08/03/2011 16:12

Yup, it's not a diet. Well the person who starts the next chapter can call it something more appropriate like throwing off the shackles of SW Wink

So you:

(1) Eat when you are hungry
(2) Only eat what you really want (rather than what you think you should eat)
(3) Eat consciously (no distractions)
(4) When you think you might be getting full stop eating.

That's it. Absolutely it. There are CDs/books/DVDs but that the basic premise.

Maybe I should just take you into the playground WMMC. You could say 'listen, missy, this is the deal....'

We could call the next thread 'Thread for people who want to like themselves (and lose weight as a bonus)' Grin

GlitterHo · 08/03/2011 16:35

thanks

what is Pauling?

shrinkingnora · 08/03/2011 16:41

Just means following the Paul McKenna rules - nothing sinister!

BsshBossh · 08/03/2011 16:56

My IBS has disappeared completely too!

Similarly, I'm not giving up the internet like you Nora, but I am endeavouring to reduce/limit my time on it for Lent. No Mumsnet internet during the day (except work-related). Only a scant half hour once DD is in bed after 7pm. I've done this before and it's freed up so much leisure time for other things that it's incredible!

Will make big effort to post my Week 2 update this weekend though.

Have a feeling this is the only thread I'll peruse.

JuicyOlive · 08/03/2011 17:28

GlitterHo - the CDs can help but not everyone uses them. I'm not sure if they're hypnosis or just relaxation CDs, but they help put you in the mindset. I'm off to eat some lovely pancakes now, because
a) I'm hungry (physically not emotionally)
b) I really fancy having one - with lemon and sugar
c) I shall eat it slow and really enjoy it
d) when I think I might feel full I'll stop.
See - easy.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 17:30

Welcome Glitter!

WMMC - you always have the right responses! Im going to keep those in mind when people ask me how much I have lost :)

I found this here and think its worth a wee read - it made so much sense to me. We wont get fat just because it tastes good!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 17:33

Glitter, I would recommend reading the book and listening to teh CD, it definitely helps me. Its not expensive - certainly cheaper than the joining fee of SW or WW!

book

shrinkingnora · 08/03/2011 17:35

Sainsbury's had it for £6 the other week.

shrinkingnora · 08/03/2011 17:35

£6 on amazon too

shrinkingnora · 08/03/2011 17:47

Just had another lesson from my kids in how to listen to your body. DD (7), her friend and DS1 (4) have just demanded to be allowed only pancakes and lemon and sugar for tea. After three each, they then demanded a huge plate of fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts and seeds. Love those kids.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 18:29

Did anyone stay awake during the hypnosis at the seminar? I went under almost straight away, so I have no idea what he said! Id love to know what was said, and which CD it was most similar to.

GlitterHo · 08/03/2011 18:55

Thankyou

what is pauling?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 18:55

Its just our word for follwoingthe Paul McKenna plan :)

whomovedmychocolate · 08/03/2011 19:15

HowtoLookGoodGlaikit - the first two hypnosis things at the session were similar to 'the secrets of naturally thin people' - the last one though was unlike anything I'd heard before. But it was good :)

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 19:21

How did you manage to stay lucid? lol I said to my friend "oh this wont work, there are too many of us and too many distractions" then the next think I heard was him couting us back awake Grin

What was the jist of the last one?

blinder · 08/03/2011 19:55

I just remember that at one point in the last morning hypnosis he said, 'you are enough' and it jolted me through to my purple leather boots Grin!

JuicyOlive · 08/03/2011 20:26

I was out of it for most of the last one. I vaguely remember him taking you forward one month at a time and you having to visualise how gorgeous you'll look and feel and that's about it.

I feel like I'm some sort of recruiter for cults stalking around other threads and luring in potential Paulers. Maybe we should start an AIBU?

Who's feeling brave enough to start:

AIBU to want to go onto WW/SW/LL threads and tell them the diet industry is keeping them all fat and that 90% of them will sabotage their diets and put all the weight back on afterwards?

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 20:34

Ive wanted to say that so often but havent dared! Grin

MaryDancesTheTango · 08/03/2011 20:39

As a complete sceptic, I must say that Pauling is working remarkably well and it is nearly impossible to pack away the amounts from yore.

I still cannot believe how easy it is to do but have lost 2kilos in one week.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 20:46

Well done Mary :)

shrinkingnora · 08/03/2011 20:48

Well done Mary!

Right, I'm off. See you on the other side Grin

Hope it continues to go well for you all. Just remember to trust yourselves xxx
