Lovely post lili - I particularly like the use of Pauling as a verb (with a capital letter).

I Paul
You Paul
He/she Pauls
We Paul etc.

Maybe we could invent some more usages:
Paulistic
Paulicious

lililolo · 08/03/2011 00:16

To Paul or not to Paul, that is the question :)

Happy Birthday for yesterday Always :)

You will be missed Nora, hope to see more of your posts in the near future. I am mostly limiting myself to this one thread at the moment, and that seems to be working. I find the rest of MN overwhelming tbh Blush

Well, yesterday was my first ever 100% perfect day since the seminar Grin It finally all felt natural and right. Ive beenfaffing about the last 2 weeks, doing it half heartedly. Final test was yesterday, sitting at a table full of yummy food chatting to my friends. They sat picking constantly at the food, and I didnt even want to pick or nibble after I was satisfied :) I am so chuffed that it was so easy! So for those who say they are still not doing it 100%, just wait & keep goign as you are, I bet it all clicks into place for you too soon!

whomovedmychocolate · 08/03/2011 09:17

Hurrah another one over the hump Wink

Come back soon Nora! :)

It's all good everyone! my RL name is PAULA!! I find my tightest jeans are good at telling me when i'm full. The other ones need a belt now to stay up YAAAY!!

whomovedmychocolate · 08/03/2011 09:18

Actually it occurred to me this morning that since I started this, all the gastrointestinal problems I had been suffering have vanished. Maybe I was just eating too much crap too quickly? I used to get an urgent need to go to the loo every morning about twenty minutes after breakfast and then the same mid morning. And I felt so bloated most of the time. It's all gone. Every bit! And my PMT has vanished too!

I can't keep up with this thread!!! I'm trying to spend less time on MN too. Need to do so much here at home and it's my birthday in a few weeks and would like to ask people round, but can't when the house is in such a mess, so.........

I wont be disappearing altogether and will try to sign in a couple of times a week. I'll also try to Paul all the time. :)

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 10:41

ppeat - my jeans fell down today on the school run! Grin Not completely, but enough so that I had to let go of my sons hand to hoik them back up before everyone saw my undies!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 10:42

solo - is it housework or decorating you need to do to spruce the place up? I had a wicked 80s themed party for my birthday last week.

arfur · 08/03/2011 11:32

wmmc - I have also noticed a drastic improvement in my digestion. used to get IBS on and of and had a couple of other minor problems but has all stopped since I started this. Guess my poor body was really struggling to process the vast amount of food I was consuming. No wonder I have lots more energy now. Ran for 25 mins without stopping today (week 7 of couch to 5k) was VERY tough but feel really chuffed now Ive done it. Have just booked holiday so now must resist the temptation to panic about losing weight for it but am feeling good so far. Keep up the pauling!

solo · 08/03/2011 11:33

HowTo, it's both Blush. I've been quite depressed for a very long time now (up down, up down) and that coupled with my ME my place is a pig sty now. It also needs lots of work doing on it. I only have two bedrooms and my Dc's are 12.7(boy) and 4.2 (girl) and sharing a not huge double room; mine is a larger double, so I'm trying to swap bedrooms over so that they get their own space (full length curtains across the middle of the room), but it will all need 'doing up' en route.
Have been getting rid of stuff, but it's slow. Too slow. need a man in my life to help me out Hmm

ppeatfruit · 08/03/2011 12:11

Howto invest in a nice belt, it's a good feeling isn't it? i've now got to get the confidence to buy some new smaller jeans!!

mummyosaurus · 08/03/2011 13:58

I have been shamefully absent due to birthday, flu, boiler breaking down, just excuses, excuses!

I am back into it now, on day 2, feeling better already, so going to read up and catch up with how everyone's doing.

franch · 08/03/2011 14:57

howtolookgood, thanks for that bit of encouragement. I'll keep just steadily Pauling away and trust the process.

Very encouraged too to hear about the droopy jeans! Hooray!

missmakesstuff · 08/03/2011 14:58

Trying to catch up on the thread whilst DD has her nap, my day off today and have felt pretty motivated, already done a huge brisk traipse round town with a buggy full of fruit and veg, and my new sports bra arrived today, so am going to start the couch to 5k tonight - very apprehensive, have a damaged disk in my back, and although I did lots of running befire I hurt my back, have done none for about 3 years. Have booked myself onto the 10k race for life in July - it's a fairly big challenge really, but I need a deadline! Am going to take it very slowly tonight and make sure I do lots of stretching after - Arfur, how have you found it? I have the NHS podcast on my ipod ready for this evening, plus new trainers that I have been wearing everywhere for three days to wear them in.

Have finally managed to listen to one or two of the CD's, although still getting the horrible restless legs - I listened to one in the bath, it really helped. Have had a few good days, Sat was one, and Monday and so far today - Sunday rubbish though, had got a pass from DH for my night out, stayed talking and drinking at friends till 4am! So as a result was a little worse for wear on Sunday, and just snacked all day, even though I wasn't really hungry.

whomovedmychocolate · 08/03/2011 15:35

I am in love with my sports bras missmakesstuff - I have never before had bazungas small enough to be contained properly!

Arfur you fittie you! Wink

We're waiting to hear back but I think I just bought a house Shock

OP posts:
HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 15:42

solo, my house was quite a tip too, so I was determined to get it clean enough to have friends over for a party - something Id never done before. Ive alywas been too embarassed about my house to let people in. Since teh seminar though, ive had friends round 3 times, its like Im not so bothered about appearances now. and my friends keep coming back, so my house cant be that bad! lol

This afternoon, I have worn a belt for the first time that I can ever remember Grin I have bought jeans that come with belts, but always took the belt off & stashed it away as I have never needed to keep my jeans up :( Feels fantastic!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 08/03/2011 15:44

ohhh wow WMMC! Fingers crossed for you!

JuicyOlive · 08/03/2011 15:45

Hey everyone how is all??

made a thread in AIBU about self sabotage
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1166899-to-self-sabotage?msgid=24227942#24227942

and I was directed here

shrinkingnora · 08/03/2011 15:57

Thanks for all the kind words. I am almost looking forward to having no screen time but I will really miss this thread, I can't believe what a lovely supportive bunch you are.

Olive - I really liked the wording of yor post on that thread. I was having a conversation with a woman in the school playground today and she could not get her head around the fact that I was doing this instead of SW when I had lost so much before. She kept saying 'so how much have you lost now?' to which I would reply 'I don't know but I feel so much happier' and she would say 'but I don't understand how it works' and I would say 'just the four rules that I have already told you every day for months' and she would say 'so how much have you lost?' etc etc etc

I feel free. It just doesn't matter any more, none of it. I am probably eating badly at the moment but I don't mind. I am free, I tell you, free!

shrinkingnora · 08/03/2011 15:59

Welcome glitterho! Great name, by the way.

whomovedmychocolate · 08/03/2011 16:07

Yippee welcome GlitterHo and here was me posting impassioned messages to get you over here and you've already arrived :)

shrinkingnora - the correct response is of course well so far I've lost my negative attitude and my self-sabotaging nature, but I'm hoping to follow it by a few stone or so. Grin
