Flapjack and banana loaf sounds great, would you post the recipe?

nevergoogle · 28/02/2011 21:25

i savoured them.
had a gap between each one, so was still hungry.
doesn't seem right somehow though.

ktwiltshire · 28/02/2011 21:37

Well, i think ive figured out whats going...not wrong...but not right??! Right now (at least) hunger and fullness feel the same, i can tell if im starving, the difference between that and bloatedly full, but slight hunger and 'just' fullness feel the same. not sure what to do about that...any suggestions ladies???

first day back at work since half term today, i snacked a little at work, had a bowl of cereal at my desk about 10am, that was breakfast, had most of 1 bit of a twix before lunch time, went for a walk around the hospital (inside on the flat lol), did some errands enroute whilst listening to my audio book, i had a couple of raison oat cookies that were by the kettle at work mid afternoon. for dinner....hmm now dinner was a bread and butter pudding. i didnt fancy dinner but i fancied that, so i had that....yeah im weird!!!

tomorrow will be better, major hip ache, but i expected that as being at work is a complete change movement wise to being at home with the kids and having a sofa to put my legs up on!!

I tried to set my alarm to wake me up with the CD this morning, thought i had sorted it last night but it just beeped and beeped and beeped at me this morning, did not like that!!
going to have to find another way to try and listen to a CD every day

whomovedmychocolate · 28/02/2011 21:39

Have you tried touching your stomach KT? To see if you are full. If you stop eating. Sit back, put your hand on your stomach and ask yourself if you are hungry. I don't know why this works but it works for me and it's worth a try.

banana and walnut loaf I swapped white for wholemeal flour and the walnuts for sultanas. I've added all sorts of different things to it in the past eg pumpkin/sunflower seeds, dried fruit etc

Flapjack is 4oz golden syrup, 6oz demerara sugar, 9oz butter, 12 oz oats. Melt the first three and stir in the oats. Bun gin a greased tin (whatever it fits in) and cook for about 15 mins at 180 ish. Also reacts very well to having things added - dates and walnuts, apricots and stem ginger, seeds and nuts. Or all of them at once....

I love that this is a diet thread that you can post yummy recipes on Grin

I'm off to bed with Paul now. Stayed up far too late again.

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 28/02/2011 22:18

I find that too KT, and like whomoved, I find 'asking myself' helpful. If I'm not finished I don't get an answer, but if I'm done, or almost done the thought 'I think I've had enough' pops into my head. Weird.

I think I saw missmakesstuff too, when I collected my tickets. I had coat envy.

I've had, by and large, a good 9 days since the seminar and this afternoon tried on my 'thin' jeans (a relative term as they are a size 18 but unlike my other jeans they have a lower waist so I've been struggling to get into them) and was pleasantly surprised to find that not only did they fit, but there was very little in the way of breath holding/tucking stomach in etc. Grin

My energy levels have really improved which is just so satisfying and I trounced through the housework yesterday despite having had a long journey the day before, the highlight of which was a blow-out on the motorway - fecking annoying for me but the kids loved hiding under a bridge wrapped in blankets and then being rescued by the tow truck so 'silver lining' and all that. Oh and I didn't feel the need to mainline chocolate either, despite being stressed. I could kiss that McKenna chap Shock

bloomingnora · 28/02/2011 22:20

Always - that looks a little like a blowjob emoticon. Or sex doll.... Sorry, I really am going now!

AmpleBosom · 28/02/2011 22:28

bloomingnora i was just typing out a really rude message following on from your comment but i thought better off it.....it centred around the 4 golden rules Wink

AmpleBosom · 28/02/2011 22:29

Bollocks Blooming! I now have the image of PM getting a BJ and saying "That's right, you can focus on my cock and suck sooo slowly because you love and appreciate it. You don't have the think about sucking me off because your unconscious mind knows just the right speed and pressuahhhhuuhhhohhh!....and your back in the room".

How am I going to listen to the CD NOW!?

JuicyOlive · 28/02/2011 23:34

Grin Grin Grin at AlwaysBe. I was just about to retire to bed with Paul and my ipod and not sure if I can now.

whomovedmychocolate · 01/03/2011 07:22

Thank you for lowering the tone Shock Grin

I'm not tapping at all by the way. Is anyone?

But I do find that if I'm eating emotionally and I do it consciously its harder to binge. I just enjoy it and stop sooner.

BsshBossh · 01/03/2011 08:55

Did you savour the cream eggs?

I really like chocolate, but this slowing down and savouring business makes a lot of the chocolate I like feel too sickly and sticky and plastic-like in my mouth. So much so that I actually prefer to savour a square of dark chocolate or an orange!

This slowing down and savouring principle is working for me!

I did really well last night. DH cooked stir-fry veg, tofu and brown rice for dinner and the food I enjoyed the most (slowing down and savouring) was everything but the rice. So I ended up only wanting a mouthful of rice and instead filled up on the veggies (okra and oyster mushrooms!).

The annoying thing was eating with my DH who was wolfing his food down. Very off-putting when I'm trying to eat slowly!

missmakesstuff · 01/03/2011 09:16

Some of you are filthy...brilliant!

unfortunately, I had to send the coat back, my Dh bought it for me, it was only a week old, he is so lovely, but a seam went after I wore it that saturday, buttons kept dropping off, and I started to notice it looking quite shabby after only a couple of wears...so is gone back. Gutted really, but have decided to wait until I'm thin to buy a new one for next winter.

Thanks for the recipe bloomingnora, def going to make flapjacks, they sound lovely, and really satisfying.

I have found that food just doesn't taste as good, especially sweet things. Still think toast tastes like heaven though, and eat so much of it.

Whe listening to the CD, does anyone get like a strange restless/achey feeling in their limbs - I get restless legs, but haven't had it bad since DD was born - but some nights I am really distracted by it, and can't seem to get comfortable, it seems to increase as I am listening, almost can't get to the end as I have to fidget and move.

Probably just me!

blinder · 01/03/2011 09:52

I get that too!! It's really distracting!

I usually take a day or two off from the cd or do it at a different time of day if it happens because I don't want it to become an associated habit!

missmakesstuff · 01/03/2011 10:08

Not just me then, maybe it's to do with relaxing - or not being able to - last night tried to listen to it in bed with the following going on...

  1. DH Snoring, then elbowing me in the shoulder
  1. The cat running up and down the stairs and then wailing loudly for about 10 mins. (bored, apparently)
  1. Baby crying a bit, then settling down - then worried I wouldn't hear her as I had my earbud thingies in, if the cat or DH snoring woke her.

ARGH!

No wonder I can't relax. Might try going to lie down for 30 mins tonight before bed to listen, as the doing it whilst falling asleep isn't working.

whomovedmychocolate · 01/03/2011 10:15

I was trying to listen to the CD last night and the cat started chewing my toe, which was slightly offputting. This cat is getting very attached to me - has snogged me twice this week and pushed DH out of bed last night with his claws so he could snuggle me Grin

BsshBossh · 01/03/2011 11:15

What are you lot planning on having for lunch then later? Am popping out to the shops at midday so need inspiration.

blinder · 01/03/2011 12:21

Just eating a coronation chicken and spinach sandwich s l o w l y

Too hungry so being extra careful.

solo · 01/03/2011 12:24

Totally fed up with it already! :( enthusiasm has left atm, but it could be hormones that's giving me the grumps...grrrrrrrr!

missmakesstuff · 01/03/2011 12:25

Well my cats just been sick somewhere in the house....could hear her. Only shes just skipped merrily out the back door and I can't find it. Bloody moulting and creating hairballs, the whole house is covered in hair at the moment, even though I brush her every day theres just so much of it!

Don't fancy lunch much now! but will probably have a chicken and coleslaw sandwich, roasted a chicken on sunday and have hardly eaten any - unheard of! Will avoid the bingeing by imagining the chocolate/buscuits/toast being xovered in cat hair - yuck!

Your cat sounds lovely WMMC - mine is not, really not right in the head, she is scared of everything, meows constantly (more of a wail) and demands attention, but then when she gets attention she runs away. Currently we are being punished for going away last week with wailing sessions at 12am, 2am and 4.

Anyone know anyone that wants a cat - come on, you must know someone you don't like that wants a moggy!

Right, really had better get on, today is my day off, have barely done anything, cannot get motivated as I have to go back to work later for a parents evening and there just doesn't seem to much point trying to get anything done. Hate having to go in on my day off. But will not let my mood make me binge....[determined face]
