androbbob and blondes I think i may want to lose another 7 to 14lbs but alot depends on how i look in the mirror. At the moment I am quite happy with myself but still interested to see if i would be happier abit lighter IYKWIM

JoJoBaldwin · 17/02/2011 21:19

Managed to sts this week, which was a relief as I was so awful at the weekend I thought a gain was inevitable. Back on track now though and got loads of walking exercise today.

Bit of a downer at my ww meeting though - my little girl (2) has been a nightmare at the last 2 meetings, so I was just going to weigh-in and leave, but my friend and her little girl wanted to stay. The leader started to get really annoyed when she was trying to talk and the two kids were squeeling. I understand it's annoying for people trying to listen but it's irritating that there are no child-friendly meetings around especially considering how many people will be mums of little ones!

Anyway, she sent me a text saying people at the meeting had complained to customer services about me! So embarrassed! My daughter is usually quite well behaved, but put her in an echoing church hall and she can't seem to resist being as loud as possible.

sigh Feel like I can't do anything for myself with a little one in tow all the time.

androbbob · 17/02/2011 21:41

Ohhh bigtilly I too didnt realise you were so close to goal - I guess it got lost in the thread! Wil you remind us all how much you have lost so far and how long it has taken you - it is great to hear how others have got there!

Been and kicked ass at the gym - now chillin!

HighHeidYin · 17/02/2011 21:58

Oooooo hello all new people!

jojo that's such a shame for you. Very mean of the members who complained to customer services! They must have forgotten what it is like to have little ones... and if they were so bothered they could have had the decency to have a quiet word with you at the class!

Would it be possible for you and your friend to club together for a childminder for the hour? Don't know what else to suggest really. I gather you don't have any family nearby who could lend a hand? Sad

bigTillyMint · 18/02/2011 06:48

androbbob, I first went to WW about 7 years ago to finally shift about 2 stone of "babyweight*. Then about 2? years ago, I went back to shift nearly a stone, and since then I have managed to stay just about within the 5lbs extra zoneWink Sadly never at the 5lbs under limit, though that's what I was aiming for this time, but I've stuck at just 1/2lb under!

JoJo what about you and your friend both going to WI and then taking turns to stay and listen while the other takes the two girls out for a run round or something? At least you'd get to go once a fortnight.

JoJoBaldwin · 18/02/2011 08:16

HeighHideYin - my family live hundreds of miles away unfortunately, and I am struggling financially at the moment so a childminder would be difficult. I do understand why everyone got annoyed at the meeting though, our little monsters were very disruptive! I certainly wasn't going to attempt to stay for a talk again anyway, but then getting text from leader effectively banning me just made me feel doubly embarrassed.

bigTilly - I think the taking turns thing is a good idea - I saw the community centre where I go to a playgroup has a ww session and next to the centre is a playground, so we could take it in turns every week taking the kids out to play while the other one stays and listens.

I work in a soft-play centre at the weekends and the manager there is considering getting a Rosemary Connolly group in there once a week after closing time, so the kids can go play while the mums exercise and weigh-in, which is a brilliant idea. I might keep doing the propoints as it really suits me, but switch meetings to that one for my weigh-in.

ClaireDeLoon · 18/02/2011 10:38

wow fiddle a stone in 4 weeks! I'm shredding too, only on day 2 though and I'm very unfit so finding it hard.

jojo sorry your leader was not sympathetic. I think the idea of switching your meeting to the one next to the playground is a great one. At least then you'll get to stay for the meeting every other week.

My weigh in is a weigh in only session as it's near my office. That makes it very flexible, she has two sessions a week, Weds and Thurs and you can drop in any time between 7.30 and 1pm although it's busier around lunchtime. I drop in on my way into work.

Fiddledee · 18/02/2011 11:30

I'm not sure I am going to lose weight quickly again as it was the first time in my life I have dieted. I do it online as no way could I get to meetings with two small kids.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2011 13:17

i sts, fairly happy with that, i did go out 3 times for a curry/dv meal and zizi and wine - so glad i didnt gain but did think i was within my pp just so was kinda hoping for a small loss iyswim

jojo yes annoying for others if child is noisey when trying to speak/listen (bit like children at wedding vows lol) but to complain about you is a bit ott if first time it happened

sounds a good idea to switch meeting for wi, or take turns

bigtilly hope you get there soon,im 7lbs away from goal, tho may try and lose more trousers permitiing

Anyone want to know what I am eating today ? Well I am going to tell you anyway !

Breakfast - 1 small pankcake with a couple drips syrup 2 Pp 1 mango ww yog 1 Pp few raspberries and grapes

Lunch 3 eggs srambled with smoked salmon trimmings on ww toast 8 pp small bit of chocOlate 1pp few more grapes

Tea ww old points recipe for chilli lentil bake but to be more Pp friendly instead of sweet potato mash for topping am going to use mashed bns and carrot mixed together . I reckon about 12 pp if I use lots cheese on top (160g half fat cheddar)

And 2 gin n slimlines !!

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 13:36

Afternoon! At work so just popping in for two secs.

Did the shred again today (day 2) and it was ok. Not too sore yet. Can do everything fine, so might up weights as have started on just 1kg. Will try 1.5 tomorrow.

Quick (and probably silly) question for all you hardened shredders - do I have to be able to do the push ups in the advanced position before moving on to level 2? That is definitely the hardest exercise for me and am barely doing the easy version atm. So once I have conquered that will it be time to move up a level?

jojo yep, taking turns or switching meetings is a great idea!

blondes well done for sts - a relief eh? Grin

froot I think I am going to come live with you...

froot · 18/02/2011 16:41

hhy glad you like my food plan for the day . Will be a bit farty tomorrow tho thanks to the lentils ! I am doing level 3 shred now and I did not manage all the push ups on level 1 but I did it for ten days (10 times) then went up to level 2 and I could do all that and I can do everything on level 3, though there is one press up exercise in that so I copy Anita and do it from my knees. I decided as it is meant to be a thirty day plan the idea was prob to do 10 days of each . I have been doing it 3 times a week since new year . Levels 2 and 3 seem to be harder because you are exercising more muscle groups at once so even the cv also involves strength so there is more crossover. Also level 3 has more jump exercises so I hold onto my boobs as they are droopy enough already !

hmc · 18/02/2011 17:24

I like that you are on first name terms with Anita Froot Wink

hmc · 18/02/2011 17:29

JoJo - your leader and class members sound like miserable cows. My sympathies! I think that would put me off attending that class altogether. There was a class I used to go to in Romsey full of the most dysfunction strange people ever (a bunch of them used to sit at the back and snigger at others when they made a contribution). Also the leader had an attitude and a half on her, I kid you not, she was like: www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/littlebritain/characters/marjorie.shtml

....so I swapped and I
really like the laid back vibe of my new class

Not wishing to pry, but do you have a dp / dh who could watch your dd whilst you attend an evening class?

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 17:33

That's really helpful, thanks froot Smile

Will do level one for another week then before moving up. Will go buy some scaffoPlding for readiness for level 3 Grin

Heeeeeyelp ! dh wants us to go out for a meal tonight! What can I have that won't use up too many pps? Got the option of Brewers Fayre (which I know is horrendous pp wise), Frankie & Bennys, Pizza Hut, chinese or indian...

Chinese maybe?

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 17:33

Where did that 'P' come from? Hmm

hmc · 18/02/2011 17:35

Chinese is good HHY, dh is bringing home a take away tonight and I am having Sweet and sour chicken for 9pps (although rice is on top of that)

hmc · 18/02/2011 17:36

and mushroom chow mein is 6 pp

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 17:37

That's reasonable! Will do that then. Thanks. Sorted! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/02/2011 18:17

glad you shredders are surviving :)

i love chinese takeaway or subways are nice

OP posts:
ClaireDeLoon · 18/02/2011 20:31

I never realised a Chinese takeaway would be ok pointswise! Thanks for that info.

How many activity points are people counting for a shred session? I said 3 is that overly generous? I just figured nearly dying for only 2 extra points was a bit mean. I got a pedometer too and I did 4 points/11,000 steps/4.5 miles yesterday and today, mostly just through going to work and taking a lunchtime walk.

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 21:26

'I just figured nearly dying for only 2 extra points was a bit mean.'

GrinGrin Very true! I just count the 2 but I never (intentionally) use my activity points.

Well had a gorgeous chinese curry with boiled rice. Didn't eat it all but thought would count 24pps to be on the safe side. Does that sound reasonable? I know chinese curries are not as bad as indian curries.

Really enjoyed it. Was my first one in 6 weeks. Got to be good until tuesday now!

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 21:29

Actually have added it up to 26pps - 12 for the rice, 14 for the curry. Surely it couldnt be more than that??

5inthebed · 18/02/2011 21:32

Only exercise video I have is vicki entwhistle off corrie Confused

Day two on pp and have to say it is better than old points, although getting used to working out points is annoying. Keep looking at calories and sat fats when no need

Have found a new treat, multipack toffee popcorn is only 3 points and yum! Also had bottle glass of one with extra weekly points, bonus all round!

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 21:32

Me again - have just booked tickets for me, dd3 and dd4 to go see JLS, the Saturdays, McFly and Elisa Doolittle at Alton Towers in June! Also includes a day on the rides!

Going with my friend. She has got tickets for her daughter and my dd2! Girls are all so excited! Grin
