I am on ww. I am sooooo hungry I think I could eat something out of the bin!!! I need to tell someone!! I have just sat through my dc tea of lasagne with lashings of cheese. I want to eat their leftovers - like usual! I have eaten some pineapple but it isn't hitting the spot. Boo Hoo!

TrinityIsABunnyMunchingRhino · 10/03/2011 16:45

but lager is 4 points for 250 ml

and vodka is 23 points for 250ml

NoWayNoHow · 10/03/2011 16:54

Trinity vodka may well be 23PP for 250ml, but it's about the quantities we drink it in.

Lager normally comes in a can of 330ml (so 3PP), and vodka comes in a measure of 25ml (2PP).

Of all the booze you can drink, spirits and diet mixers are by far the least pointy.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2011 17:07

trinty stay away from wine -it is evil in pp

spirits and diet mixers only

JoJoBaldwin · 10/03/2011 17:33

eek - I would easily drink 500mls of vodka if I settle in for a session. Crikey, so all my weeklies just on voddy. Not even counting the drunken food decisions like pizza, crisps and chocolate and hangover food the next day.

Whereas 4 cans of stella will get me very smashed and I will stop drinking after that - 32 points so for me marginally better than drinking vodka. But still the associated eating of rubbish.

Is a bottle of wine about 20pp? Because I wouldn't drink more than a bottle. So out of the three choices wine would probably be the least disastrous for me.

Though all seem to eff me up!

Piffle · 10/03/2011 18:20

I average 4 cans of Stella most days
Hence current dilemma of excess weight

JoJoBaldwin · 10/03/2011 19:11

Most days Piffle? You know what you have to do sweetie....

It is really hard to cut down, I know. I used to drink easily half a bottle to a bottle of wine a night (sometimes more) - just associated it with winding down after work etc.

Now trying to cut down to one night of tipsy fun every two weeks but it is difficult, and the temptaion is always around as hubby has a drink problem (not according to him, but it's becoming more apparent to me!).

How do you feel about cutting out the alcohol for a few days and seeing how you feel? Do you feel tired/semi-hungover quite a lot?

JoJoBaldwin · 10/03/2011 19:13

And welcome by the way piffle and ceolas. I am a new subscriber to the thread to but am finding it a lovely encouraging and supportive place to be. Smile

huffythethreadslayer · 10/03/2011 19:16

Jojobaldwin, ClairedeLeon, Nowaynohow, Wizzler and Blondeshavemorefun thank you for your wise words. I've had more support on this thread today than I got in months of attending WW. And it was freeeeee (I've watched Bedtime Story at least once too often :))

I was quite good today. No choccie bars, toms & mushies on toast for lunch, gammon & salad and a few chips for tea.

Off to check out ww online. I suppose I need to get with the programme properly. I'll check in again tomorrow. Thanks all and I hope you all have a good evening.

Piffle · 10/03/2011 20:04

No I feel fine!
I have stopped drinking beer for two weeks
I've had the odd glass of wine, but I'm a beer chick so it's a beer thing not an alcohol thing iyswim

I'm ok stopping it's def time...

hmc · 10/03/2011 21:17

I don't have my favourite alcoholic tipples in the house - then I can't drink 'em

abgirl · 10/03/2011 21:22

DebsSad am feeling your loss (in cash terms) forked out £239 for a new alternator this morningSad, happily battery light has now stopped flashing constantly and car sounds much better so I am less stressed. Have not been sleeping well this week which always happens when I am overloaded...

Not a great points day either, but am trying to use my weeklies earlier in the week and then stick to 29 at the weekend, just for a change... DH made cauliflower mac cheese tonight for tea, was lovely but expensive points wise - 13Shock Did give blood today though, surely that will help diet?

Hello to new people, I completely recommend signing up to ww online with quidco.com - they have some bargain-tastic deals, I got 3 months for £15 but I think there's some even better ones about now.

abgirl · 10/03/2011 21:23

Hmmm, I do have wine in the house but only like it cold so take it out the fridge on school nights...

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2011 21:23

i have loads of bottles of bubbly from france in my house :( each one prob 20pp or more

huffy glad you feel supported :)

Piffle · 10/03/2011 21:36

Had 3 pp left so went to fridge and chose rachels organic coconut Greek style full fat yoghurt instead of wine
It felt so velvety scrummy and yummy
I'm fully satisfied today!

ClaireDeLoon · 10/03/2011 22:03

Piffle I love Rachels yoghurts, just had some of the low fat organic pineapple, mango and passion fruit and it was lovely, like you say a really lovely texture, nice and creamy. I had a 1/4 of a big pot which worked out at 3pp too.

Having a G&SLT as a treat for having a good old stretch session at pilates. In fact this is my second so dipping into my exercise points by 2.

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 10/03/2011 22:31

checking in - had a good points day today. I am trying to use less points on snack foods and more on my meals, so having a little more carb at meal times. definitely made a difference to feeling the need for a snack.

I tried one of the M&S COU thai red curry snack pots for lunch today - was rather nice. COU is almost all propointed now, and I have discovered that sainsburys are also putting propoints on their be good to yourself range, so rather handy!

I can't join in on the alcohol chat as I'm almost teetotal, but I have had to cut down the amount of orange juice I drink Wink Grin my usual 350ml glass that I would have in the morning just doesn't seem worth the 4 points!

Tip for not snacking on things you have in the house for other family members - work out the pp value when you buy it and write on the packet in big black marker. puts you off taking it out the cupboard even when you have a snacking itch that needs a scratch!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2011 22:38

Glad sauna are putting PP on their diet stuff. Tesco have for years

I had a glass of wine with my
Boss's before they left - I said no at first but they were drinking si had a tiny weeny glass of prob 2pp

I bought some Tesco lighter choices pasta because it was on offer, didn't see they had PPd it....12 each! not worth it IMO. M&S much better for 9/10pp

Athrawes · 11/03/2011 07:42

Hi
New here and doing WW online here in NZ. Struggling to lose more than 0.4kg a week and sometimes not at all. Still BFing but when I say I am I get 43 points a day and lose nothing. So instead I am trying to stick to the 29 points a day but failing unless I use all my weekly points too. And sometimes I need to use my exercise points too. Weakness for nutella! This week i will have failed due to wine.
So, is it possible to lose more?

JoJoBaldwin · 11/03/2011 07:42

Just had sneaky weigh-in to check I am on track to get rid of the massive 6 pound gain of last week.

drumroll.........

5 lb off!

Phew!

That's only since tuesday so rather taken aback, was hoping for a couple off maybe. Have eaten all my 29 and 10 of my weeklies. Only really exercised on one day, haven't been out and about cos of the weather so no walking.

Now feel really motivated to get some exercise in over the weekend and stay in control of the eating/drinking. So glad i didn't react to the gain with a week-long self-pity binge!

So take heart any strugglers out there Wink

JoJoBaldwin · 11/03/2011 07:45

Welcome Athrawes. I remember BFing - I was ravenously hungry all the time and wondered what all this bollocks was about it helping you lose weight. Had totally the opposite effect on me!
