Quickly on to say 1lbs off this week, would have liked more but happy to be back to losing after my blip at half term. Will come back on later and catch up properly...

NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 08:07

Well done tilly that's great, and well done *abgirl" too!

Well, done home WI (still same day as group WI) for the first time since 8th Feb and I've lost 3.5lbs. Obviously, that's over the course of 4 weeks, so I won't be hauling the ticker tape out. BUT, it does take me to goal! Hooray! eSource has automatically put me onto maintenance points, but I wouldn't mind another 3-5lbs off (got a wedding in May) so I'll just keep to 29 for the moment and manually track weeklies.

Good luck everyone for their WI's today!

NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 08:10

Actually, just realised it was my 5% goal Blush, so have changed the settings to make a new 10% goal, and put the points back to 29.

Oh well, still slightly exciting! Grin

bigTillyMint · 08/03/2011 08:26

NoWay well done - 5% goal! So how much more now to 10%?

JoJoBaldwin · 08/03/2011 08:29

Well done tilly, froot and abgirl!

Um, so decided to face up to the damage and weigh in on my wii fit this morning. A gain of 6 pounds! Talk about a major kick up the arse. It's taken me a month to get about 8lb off and one bad week sees nearly half a stone on!

So instead of moping about it did 35 mins cardio on wii. Will do another 30 mins just before lunch and try for another 30 mins in the afternoon.

And stick to my pints and NOT DRINK!!!!!!!!!!!!

JoJoBaldwin · 08/03/2011 08:30

ahem I meant "points" of course, not "pints" - a freudian slip if ever I saw one!

NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 08:40

jojo pmsl at your pints!

I massively applaud you for not letting the gain get you down and just cracking on with getting back on track - well done you!

tilly, got about another half a stone to 10%, but if I'm honest with you, any weight between where I am today and 10% would suit me just fine.

My 10% this time round comes from a much lower starting weight (from Jan this year) than I was when I first tried WW after having DS a couple of years ago. Considering that I was at more than 2 stone heavier then, all of this feels like a second chance to have the body I had 10 years ago.

hmc · 08/03/2011 11:03

Well done Bamboobutton, Iheart, Loublout, froot, bigtilly, abgirl and noway for your losses and big well done to androbbob - since I know it's been a testing few weeks for you of 'off' and 'on' - so it's great you got the result you deserved. Incidentally Androbbob if you are planning Florida for Disney then you must buy this book: absolutely mission critical advice especially about best times to go

Sorry to hear about the job disappointments JoJo and Loopyla - hope things pick up for you soon in that department

Was reading all your recommendations for low point 'treat' food....was wondering if anyone is doing what I am doing? Basically I don't eat cakes, pudding, chocolate or sweets at any time ever (since starting the diet) - not even the WW ones with the only exception being the WW sweets for 1pp for the whole box which I keep in the car (and I'm thinking of stopping those too since I've started eating two boxes in one day!) I don't plan to eat any when I reach goal and start maintenance either. It isn't that I've got fab willpower it's more the opposite - if I ate the occasional thing like that I wouldn't be able to stop so it has to be an outright ban....

NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 11:05

jojo, just as an aside, a single measure of white spirit (bacardi/vodka/gin etc) and a diet mixer is only 2 PP... Much better than wine and a glass lasts longer too. I also find that with wine, one I open a bottle, I feel that it's remiss to leave any behind! Whereas, if I have a spirit-based drink, I feel like one is enough as any more on a weeknight feels wrong, iykwim?

NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 11:13

hmc, I could never go without those treats. I'm simply not capable and my will power isn't good enough - I'd absolutely CRUMBLE after a few days, and completely overindulge. However, I'm not the world's biggest sweet fan, if I'm honest, so a mint thin or one of DS's mini eggs is enough to hit the spot for me. My weakness is the savouries - cheese, chips with a bottle of vinegar, etc... That's the stuff that I tend to stay away from and reserve for absolute, absolute treats...

hmc · 08/03/2011 11:22

I find that if I eat chocolate and cakes etc I crave them more, but if I stop completely - after a few days the yearning for them just sort of goes....

The one thing I could never give up is the odd alcoholic tipple - I try to control that by not having any in the house and only going to buy some at the weekends when I tend to consume it that night Blush

JoJoBaldwin · 08/03/2011 11:23

NoWay - didn't know one measure was only 2PP - but I find with spirits that once I start I find it very difficult to stop. Easily had over 20pp worth the other night. ANY alcohol just ruins anything for me really. I've just got to limit it to social occasions or a blowout once every couple of weeks (rather than once or twice a week). Financially it needs to be done too!

hmc I agree that a taste of treat food like chocolate can sometimes trigger a binge, and I don't miss it too much after, say, a week without it. But I do like one "treat" item a day. I have cut out cakes and biscuits completely as one biscuit is never enough, I can easily eat a whole pack, so instead of buying a pack of biscuits I will buy some chocolate buttons or a curly wurly.

debs39 · 08/03/2011 12:28

Just gone online at WW site community bit and found out 2 ryvita crackerbreads is 1pp so not too much damage done last night!!! Though if I had planned and thought right let's waste 7 pp I could've found something far nicer to have...like a mars bar!!!! :(

JoJoBaldwin · 08/03/2011 12:57

Just managed 4 of my 5 a day in a 6pp meal Smile

6 or 7 mushrooms in my omelette, bns chips, peas, and a try-out of swede chips.

If you want to try the swede and bns chips combo I would make the swede thin like fries and the bns like chippy chips to equalise the cooking time.

Did a bit of Just Dance while it was cooking so 2 birds with one stone. Grin

NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 14:02

BTW, had an online article published a couple of months ago, loosely based around the type of eating that WW taught me (i.e. what kind of foods to gravitate towards, how to be smart with quality and quantity, etc). It's probably preaching to the converted, but if anyone wants to have a read, it's here

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2011 15:00

jojo ww can be done alone, i manage it, so good luck :) sorry interview didnt go well :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2011 15:00

so who is tossing today? Grin

OP posts:
NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 15:13

I wish I was tossing today (you're filthy, you are, blondes Wink), but DH working late and DS can't have egg white when it's raw or lightly cooked (eg srambled egg/pancakes) and I sure as hell ain't making a whole batch for me alone - not at 2PP a pancake!

As I'm dining alone, I might buy some ready made ones for my dinner, but suspect they'll blow dailies out the water...

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2011 15:46

'innocent eyes'

im a good blonde, pure and innocent - was a totally innocent question

obv noway you have some filth on your brain Grin

OP posts:
NoWayNoHow · 08/03/2011 16:08

Yes, it's definitely filthy ol' me! Wink

bigTillyMint · 08/03/2011 16:33

Good on you JoJo!

hmc I am not all that big on sweets / cakes / biscuits, and even 1 or 2 squares of chocolate is enough to kill a craving. So ATM I have an Options hot choc if I feel the need!

I do prefer savoury stuff - my prob is snacking while making the dinner, etc. And I LOVE nice bread and breakfast cereals, so I only buy pre-sliced bread and try to stick to porridge!

I don't drink a huge amount, and I love G&T, but sadly not all pubs do slimline. And cocktails, mmmmmmmm!

Blondes have just tossed 26 for the DC and their friends - have been good and not had any.... yetSmile

abgirl · 08/03/2011 16:50

DH is the chief tosser in this houseGrin- am spending some of my weeklies on a pancake with nutella and bananas for pudding tonight - and after that DH and I are giving up chocolate and crisps for lent, anyone else giving anything up? We briefly considered Wine as well... and stuck at chocolate and crisps, LOL.

Would have had spare points out of my dailies for the pudding but was tempted by a piece of choccie birthday cake at workBlush - have fitted that into dailies though as had tuna salad at lunch and having baked fish, savoury rice and free veg for tea so been v good otherwise. May have a sess on just dance tonight too, not done that for ages...

hmc · 08/03/2011 17:20

I'm the tosser in this household Blush

Will be making only a small quantity - a couple for dh, 1 each for the dc and 1 each for both dogs! Kids will have vanilla ice cream and drizzled choc with their whilst dh will go the lemon and sugar route. The dogs will have theirs with dog biscuits Grin
