NWNH must admit that the extra dry martini last night was a bit 'biffing'by the 3rd one...not used to diet lemonade - give me diet cherryade and vodka anytime!!!!...gave up and in bed by 930pm!!!!.....Well, at least I only abused erm a few propoints with alcohol last night...will never 'fess up to how many tho or willabywallaby will think I had metrodizatingy cos am an alchy!! tee hee!!! Happy Saturday everyone...and a tip my friend gave me was to pour yourself a nice cuppa / glass of wine etc etc, quickly paint your nails and then sit down and relax....you can still indulge a bit but you can't go for the biccie tin unless you want to ruin your hardwork on your manicure!!! Personally, am thinking of installing lock on kitchen door and at 7.30pm giving the key to my lovely neighbour who wld be under strict instructions to only let me have it after 7am the next morning!!!!

debs39 · 05/03/2011 18:59

PS JJB I used to be a weighwatcher's leader and can't believe they aren't understanding re your Small Child......if it were me I would have made a point of doing a session on motivation and wangling the discussion towards how hard it is when you have kids etc to find 'me' time!!! Then would have given members my thinking ie try anything to get to meeting even if have to bring kids...and if members don't like my thinking and thinking of people like you...they aren't true WW....as the true ethos of WW is friends coming together to give support to oneanother around a kitchen table!!! xxxx

Evening all - popping in after my WI this morning.

Drum roll.....

I lost 2lbs and got my stone award Yeah! Finally [grin Grin

So there I was telling the leader I was drawing a line under the last few weeks and taking this weeks WI as my new start and head down off to business. So told her - forget that I am happy!

I came out there very happy and motivated to carry on. I have struggled for the past 6 weeks to lose 3lbs off and on STS and off and on and finally I get to the stone milestone!

I have tried really hard this week - changed things around, done exercise in the morning rather than the evening and even tried the courgette as a rice substitute - still not sure about that one.

I am now on for my 10% award hopefuly by the end of March / just before Easter as that is another 6lbs from now.

Updated the famous spreadsheet and we have lost a total of 18.5ls - an average of 1lb per person! its all good! Looking at the individual totals -there are a plenty people who are well on the way to meeting the Easter Challenge - there are little prizes for all those who manage to lose 10lbs by Easter - we are at the end of Week 2 so there are 8 more WI weeks to go Grin

Willabywallaby · 05/03/2011 20:53

Well done androbbob!

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 05/03/2011 22:52

Congrats androbbob that's great!

blondes great idea with the driving to the station - it helps the willpower if you've got a solid no drinking reason like a car, doesn't it!

debs great tip on the nail varnish - very cunning.

jojo how frustrating about the job/meetings. There are several babies/toddlers at our meeting and no complaints.

loopy sorry to hear about your job, but big congratulations on not comfort eating - sounds like you are due a good loss next week, like hmc had this week, after all the extra exercise!

battery about to die, well done to other losers and hey - bet you're all having a more exciting Saturday night than me - online grocery shopping - rock and roll!

sparkle101 · 06/03/2011 08:59

Morning ladies

Well yesterday was interesting, knew it was going to be hard with birthday party nibbles and indian and wine ( blondes was told under no circumstances was I allowed to drive) had the best intentions and then thought to myself, I've been doing WW religiously for 8 weeks and I don't want to feel like I am missing out so I...... um...... really went for it Blush! I ate my body weight in garlic bread at the party and cheesy nugget things, ooh forgot the snickers I had before as well, and as for indian, well..... I also think I had something dodgy last night as I feel quite sick with a headache Wink but am not going to feel bad, am back on it today and had a great day yesterday so it was worth it, sometimes you just got to do it!!!

Will be back later to name check properly, just off to get some headache tablets!

Littlefish · 06/03/2011 10:42

Whoohooo Androbbob - fabulous news! It's so great that you''ve regained your resolve and are ready for the next stage. I'm really proud of you.

Sparkle - sounds like a fab evening. So sorry you had a bad curry - it can only be that that's making you feel sick and headachey, can't it! Wink.

Right you lot - I need to get motivated again. I need to lose 1 - 2lbs a week for the next 8 weeks. If I do that, I could have lost between 3 - 3.5 stone by the time 30th April comes around.

On 30th April, I'm doing a solo recital (singing) in front of about 100 friends and strangers. I want to buy something lovely to wear, and although I'll still be about 4.5 stone overweight, I will be looking a whole lot better than last time I did a concert. [simle]

I'm seeing my GP on Monday and am expecting a small bollocking from her as I've only lost about 4 lbs this month.

I'm off out shopping next weekend to find something to wear for a party in London at the end of March, so I'd like to lose another few lbs before then as well.

debs39 · 06/03/2011 11:00

As its's a Sunday , can I confess to vodka martinis, hot chocolates with large slugs of vodka in, salt and vinegar ricecakes and pinching honey loops and krave cereal to munch on...whilst I watched all of Marchlands on ITV player last night....Definitely gave my weeklies a good hammering....steamed veg for lunch as penance today methinks!!!

debs39 · 06/03/2011 11:01

PS sparkle101 you must be hardcore if after your mad night you were still up and online at 8.59am this morning!!!! Hope your headache and yakkiness wears off soon...mine always re-emerges mid afternoon!!!

JoJoBaldwin · 06/03/2011 11:11

Naughty naughty debs

Littlefish your recital is great motivation to keep on track. I've got a party at the end of March too so have similar hopes of dropping a few pound by then. And April is my daughter's birthday and lots of friends/relatives are coming to visit from up north so would be great to have a stone off at least by then.

Mini rant: Why do all diet products come in packs of 5 or 6? If I had the willpower to stop at ONE I wouldn't be so bloody fat would I? Every other chocolate bar in the world is sold singly, but weightwatchers? Oh no, they'd rather you buy tons of chocolate and then fight a mad psychological battle not to eat the whole pack at once.

The only exception are the Boots "shapers" range - wonder how many propoints are in those?

I get so cross at my lack of willpower, especially after seeing nice low pp dessert ideas that involve melting a bit of nutella for a chocolate sauce or whatever. Great idea, but I'm kidding myself that I can keep a jar of nutella in the cupboard without a major binge disaster occuring at some stage.

JoJoBaldwin · 06/03/2011 11:12

PS that was a joke Debs, meant to put a wink after lol, it looks like I'm being dead judgemental!

Littlefish · 06/03/2011 11:15

Oh I agree jojo. I want to be able to buy everything in single portions so I don't have to have the extras in the house!

collision · 06/03/2011 11:15

Confession time - I hadnt been to WW for 3 weeks for one excuse or another.

Went last week and had only put on half a pound!! Was very pleased.

Am back but not been shopping so struggling as to what to eat.

When i do WW though I tend to put odd things together that I know I can eat but might not be conventional!

Last week I ate stirfried chicken, boiled broccoli sprinkled it with 5g parmesan!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/03/2011 11:42

im rather proud of myself, went out to london and drove to station, so that i wouldnt drink and use all weekies as such a waste on wine :(, honestly the looks and remarks i got, no one would have thought they have seen me sober before - had several looks at my tummy and winks

anyway i had one glass of wine as a spriztler and the rest of the night on diet coke, had calamari and salmon and mash and ordered a side salad

'polishs halo'

jojo glad you like the new haircut, boots shapers, used to be 2p each so prob 4pp now

androb well done on fab loss!!!

sparkle sounds a fun night :)

littlefish 'kicks butt' you can do it, seriously though, 4lbs a month is a lb a week (4 stone in a year) and no gp should tell you off for that

debs39 whoops,though sounds fun

OP posts:
JoJoBaldwin · 06/03/2011 12:20

Blondes - 4pp on a Boots shapers!!!

Gosh, so not worth bothering with when there's curly wurly's at 3pp. Well done on not drinking - it is my total downfall in trying to lose weight and I feel totally crap after this weeks fall off the wagon.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/03/2011 12:29

i could be wrong jojo but as i said before, most yummy/treat etc foods seemed to have doubled in pp,thats how i work it out if been out and no pp in sight iyswim

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 06/03/2011 12:29

and wine is so bad, froot says that in her laws Grin

OP posts:
NoWayNoHow · 06/03/2011 12:40

jojo and blondes I had the Boots minty dark chocolate nougat thingy and it worked out as 2PP. Don't know what the other ones are though...

I'm failing miserably today already - had half a hot cross bun, a bourbon biscuit, and an packet of salt and vinegar crisps at my folks house, and still have lunch and family afternoon tea to come! fingers crossed 15pp plus my 22 remaining weeklies will be enough to cover my complete lack of will power!

NoWayNoHow · 06/03/2011 12:41

that stuff is on top of my breakfast (9PP) and dinner (5PP) btw.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/03/2011 12:47

noway really? the boots mint/dark choc is 2pp? wow, will stock up on those as love them, honestly thought they wold be more than that

now stop snacking!!!

Ive had 2 weetabix and skim milk so 4p for breakie

not sure what for lunch, prob soup

OP posts:
NoWayNoHow · 06/03/2011 13:58

It's my parents' house, blondes, they always have such yummy stuff in that i don't normally get to eat! I've tracked everything so far, including what I'm planning for dinner tonight, and after lunch I'm 3PP over dailies with 21 weeklies remaining, so provided I stay away from all the lovely cakes my gran makes, I'll be okay!

collision · 06/03/2011 14:17

ooh some things I found that are low points and not WW food are

Trackers - nutty bars for 3 pp

School bars - in the raisin section - 2pp

both are yummy.

debs39 · 06/03/2011 19:27

collision steamed veg and parmesan is my staple munch 'til I'm stuffed tea!!! Glad that you are similarly bizarre with food choices when on WW!!! Though the hubby complains that the house smells like something had died whenever I cook it! No wonder he has given up and works overseas now!!

debs39 · 06/03/2011 19:54

ps am off to bed now..as really can't resist temptation and going to bed is the WW option tonight!!!!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/03/2011 20:06

Bugger it. Was doing well. Had sandwich for lunch then up to mil

Only to find they were ordering Chinese at 5pm 'sighs' and everyone was sharing dishes

I told then I wasn't sharing and ordered bloody lemon chicken again and chxiken fried rice (which I do love but that's twice in 3 days)

Think I'm just over my 29 but still got 23weekies

So now it's 8pm and I'm starving - 5pm is too early for me to eat
