"is there such a thing as not eating enough to lose weight??"

Absobloodylutely there is! Get thee eating Debs! - you've got to eat all your dailies, the weeklies are up to you but our WW leader advocates eating at least some of them. If you eat too little your body will go into survival mode and cling onto fat stores

hmc · 04/03/2011 09:55

hmc · 04/03/2011 09:56

NoWay - send him out to the kebab shop

sparkle101 · 04/03/2011 09:56

Well done blondes two stone! Amazing!

Loving the list froot am most interested in the choc dessert and sugar free jelly idea (put on list for shopping)

Can I add - freeze a muller light yoghurt for healthy ice cream.

Not sure about weeklies though, I use all mine every week and have lost roughly two a week (may be cos I'm a porker with a lot to lose!)

Debs - it may be the excesses of the week before you started, you may be a two week person and your body will kick into gear next week.

Not looking forward to this weekend, tomorrow is 2YO birthday party with lots of nibbles and then out for friend's 32th birthday in the evening, she has decided to have an Indian and have been told I am being picked up so I can have wine, how do you cope with that?

hmc · 04/03/2011 10:02

Sparkle - have you got the eating out guide to check curries against? If not, plain chicken tikka is about the lowest (i.e. chicken done in the spices without a heavy sauce), I'll check on pp's for you later when I go downstairs (where my eating out guide is).

Re wine - a bottle is circa 18-20 pps (someone on here said 18 but I thought it was 20, hence the 'circa'....)- so maybe stick to half a bottle, which is 2 generous glasses (about 180-200 ml per glass)

I am heavily into displacement activity today - i.e. spending time on here when I should be doing something else Blush

NoWayNoHow · 04/03/2011 10:03

debs there is ABSOLUTELY such a thing as not eating enough. If your body doesn't get the calories it requires to operate, then it will store every last thing you eat as fat in anticipation of further lack of calories.

WW is never about going hungry, and they set 29PP as the minimum anyone can have because that's what our bodies need to function properly. That's why you can no longer carry points over from day to day - the 29 are there for you to use, and if you don't use them you lose them...

The weeklies are optional - you don't HAVE to use them. But you really do need to eat your 29 every day.

sparkle101 · 04/03/2011 10:36

HMC will have a look at the eating out guide when I find mine Blush the wine was most interesting thank you, I could hopefully get away with that - the only other option is to drink so much wine I have horrendous hangover in the morning and get rid of it that way (sorry TMI!) I just have this feeling I won't be able to resist the tikka masala!

LoopyLa · 04/03/2011 10:44

debs PLEASE have some martinis for me - on kick-ass, hard-core, go-to-hospital-if-you-even-cook-with-wine antibiotics, and all I want is a flaming drink after the week I've had! Can you also post pictures of your lovely alcoholic beverages. Ta.

debs39 · 04/03/2011 20:09

NMNH...are they the metrodiaz....something or other one antibiotics...I had those when had tooth abcess......( dare I admit though that I had vodka with mine...whoops...I was on them for 5 wks tho so must've developed an immunity to side affects after a few weeks!!! )PS extra dry martini and diet lemonade going down well!!! wld post pic if could hld camera straight ha ha noth that bad...yet!!!!

NoWayNoHow · 04/03/2011 21:09

debs, yes they're metronidazole. Feel shite on them too, permanent headache and nausea. Also for a tooth infection! Watching DH drinking his wine and feeling extremely jealous!! Grin

Willabywallaby · 04/03/2011 23:40

Confession time.....I'm a dentist, please don't drink on metronidazole, they're the same as the medication they give to alcoholics to stop them from drinking, ie big headaches etc. So take them properly and things will improve. And remember you can take painkillers with them.

Have a good weekend x

NoWayNoHow · 05/03/2011 09:44

willaby don't worry, I'm only looking not touching! Wink

I've read some nasty stories about people who drank on it, and there's no way I'd take that chance. Not even going to drink for 3 days AFTER they finish - too scared of the side effects!!

bamboobutton · 05/03/2011 12:25

me again with my latest weigh in.

weighed myself a few days early as i felt 'empty' this morning and i've lost another 2Lbs, now down to 166Lbs.

considering my weighing scales died so i was guessing how much things weighed i think i've done quite wellSmile

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2011 13:19

well done bamboo

im off to the big smoke for drinks and meal with friends

ive decided to drive to station so wont drink as really cant afford the pp i will use on Wine :(

LoopyLa · 05/03/2011 14:49

Well I've had a completely crap week :(

I didn't get the job I had applied for & the last 2 weeks at work have been particularly awful. I didn't, however, comfort eat, like I really wanted to & shove crap down my throat AND, due to an office relocation, have walked 45 minutes every day - briskly.

And the cherry on top of my crap cake is that I didn't lose any weight at all Angry, it's so annoying!!!

Very fed up, best make a Brew and avoid the biscuits I guess!

bigTillyMint · 05/03/2011 15:25

Blondes brave choice!

I live in the big smoke, and was really looking forward to a fewWine on our night out with friends tonight, but I now have to pick DD up at 11.30pm from her friends partySad

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2011 15:40

loopy sorry you sts and didn't get job but dont stuff yourself or will be pissed off Tom

Tilly think I'm insane :( but know I will drink wine and it's a waste of PP :( so will have to stuck to one g&s and tons of diet coke

OP posts:
JoJoBaldwin · 05/03/2011 18:46

NoWay sorry you are feeling like a crap mum too - think it's part of the job description.

Well done on the 2 stone Blondes!

Commiserations loopy, I'm sure your willpower in the face of sdversity will pay off for you next week.

hmc Loving my new haircut thanks. I decided to get a fringe and loads more highlights so i feel all different.

However, it has been a disastrous week in terms of alcohol consumption and I'm looking at a horrid gain. Was told the job I just got can't guarantee my hours every week so just going to be employed on a casual basis when they are busy. Which means I'm going to be pretty broke for the rest of the month.

Which means I can't actually afford to go to ww meetings and get weighed! Plus I seem to have lost my ww folder. I'm thinking of buying a points calculator for a quid on ebay and just doing it myself, using free online resources to stay on track.

The meetings are certainly a motivator, but i don't get to stay for the talk because of my noisy child so I'm just paying someone to weigh me which seems very silly!
