STEPPING IN FOR NORMA

Welcome one and all to our 4th thread

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place! :)

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! ) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag,Grin all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. !

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in - pour yourself a Wine or Brew and make yourself at home :)

andro (thought you'd disappeared!) my loss was due to putting on 1lb week before (TOTM and lots of other resons on weigh in day) and so wasn't a true reflection, but thanks to you and everyone else I got back on the wagon and lost that - next week may be slightly more interesting!

Welcome thelady and well done you for the first week, that's excellent and it's nice to have the push to start isn't it? I still haven't quite got my head around working out the points but have invested in a calculator and take it everywhere. From what I can gather - stuff that has carbs tends to be higher points. Think on e-source there is a calculator to work them out as well.

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/03/2011 14:42

I have got to get my head round it all tbh lol I used to eat when I wanted and what I wanted.
Until I saw a photo of myself on a night out and decided I needed to lose some weight.

Hence joining a week ago. I was very shocked when I found I had lost 5lb, was a total surprise but a nice one.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 02/03/2011 17:07

Blondes, that was 3 wispas and a bacon sarnie. Today has gone down the pan, electrician came and has found 1950s rubber wires in our 1965 house so need loads of electrics doing. Am so cross as our original electrician should have spotted this. Still no sign of car. My wallet will be several thousand pounds lighter even if I do put on.

Tracking gone out of window today. Am just going to go with it, miss class tomorrow as DD sick and builders here, then get back on the wagon with a fresh week and put this week behind me. Sorry to moan and am on phone still so can't catch up with how everyone is doing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/03/2011 17:09

wynken ouch at car, whats wrong? dh van went to heaven the other week and had to buy one as needs for work - hopefully we havnt brought a dog, but mot will tell in a few months time

yummy at bacon butty :)

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 02/03/2011 17:52

The car needs a new Dual Mass Flywheel, clutch and starter motor, £1700, then electrics looking like £1000-£1500 which fingers crossed will do it as full rewire around 4k Upstairs is all upside down as a the Walls are being moved and DD wondering round with a tissue still not looking great.

Fingers crossed for the Van's MOT, flipping stressful all that sort if thing. Am determined to get back on straight and narrow tomorrow, I refuse to undo all my good work.

mrsharrycunningham · 02/03/2011 19:43

Evening All!

Well done for all the losses! TheLady - what a fab start, you must be really chuffed.

Well, after not weighing in last week I went last night and have put on 1/2lb. Much better than I hoped considering I'd had my birthday and a long weekend away between weigh ins! Have been really good today and have been tracking my propoints.

I'm afraid I don't get to look in on MN too often but when I have over the last few days I find your stories and words of encouragement really uplifting. I am determined to get to goal and I think reading all your posts will really help.

benbenandme · 02/03/2011 20:00

0.5lbs on for me this week Blush, am not surprised though, have been a bit lax this week with counting the points, and last weeks loss of a pound was not deserved or expected so I think that caught up with me too Wink

Hoping it will act as a motivator to get me back on track this week ...

JoJoBaldwin · 02/03/2011 20:11

WynkenBlynkenandNod Oh lordy, no wonder today has gone down the pan. Sometimes life really throws some horrible financial crap our way.

Things gone down the pan too for me today. Stayed in 29 points yesterday but today was feeling terrible - had bad pcos symptoms, was feeling rubbish about appearance, had major anxieties about job interview next week, and general things about our tiny flat we live in and being trapped here because of negative equity etc, and generally things getting to me about finances and not being able to afford basic things like going to the dentist.....

Basically I freaked out - and hubby freaked out back and we just argued all day, and I was especially bad and over-emotional. Our poor daughter was very upset and I feel like an awful mum (she is happy now though and has put it down to mummy having a poorly toe). But still, just rubbish behaviour from me.

So the weeks 49 points are going tonight on vodka and pizza.

ClaireDeLoon · 02/03/2011 20:21

Hey JoJo don't feel too bad sometimes it just all gets a bit too much. Enjoy the pizza and vodka.

abgirl · 02/03/2011 20:57

jojo sounds like you need and deserve the pizza and voddy - enjoy and have a fresh start tomorrow!

I'm having car troubles too, conked out at a dark junction on the way home last night - v scary as the electrics went and I had no lightsSad. DH came to my rescue and got it restarted to get it home, taking back to the garage for some tlc tomorrow (hopefully it won't be too expensive...)

Back on the wagon all good so far, done loads of extra activity points today as without a car had to walk DS to school and then walk 2 miles in the opposite direction to the station.

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 02/03/2011 21:20

Posting on phone while bf - pleased to report another 2.5 lbs off this week! So I got my 10% award and my third silver seven. Really pleased with myself. My mum is doing ww too and she was at my meeting today, I think she was more pleased than me! So next mini goal is the next 3lbs to take me below the next stone.

Well done to all the other losers, will try and post properly from laptop soon so I can be as supportive as blondes and androbbob

hmc · 02/03/2011 21:21

Lost 5lbs tonight! - Get in!

I have been good but was still a bit shocked (in a very pleasant way). However I gained 0.5lbs last week so I guess the 'proper' way to look at it is as a 4.5lb loss over two weeks....

33lbs cumulative loss now and around 25lbs to go until I meet my 'notional' target (I haven't agreed it with WW yet officially and I might tweak it a bit, but if I loose another 25lbs I will be BMI 24, which on my large frame seems about right)

hmc · 02/03/2011 21:27

Just caught up on last few posts since previously logging on - sorry JoJo and Wynken that you are having a crappy time at the moment - just be kind to yourselves and try not to worry about the diet atm, until everything else works itself out Sad

Well done Shouldersback on your loss - all seems to be going tickety-boo

Ah well, chin up benben and mrsharrycunningham - we've all had those pesky 1/2 lb gains from time to time, usually we put it right the following week...

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/03/2011 21:35

wynken ouch, maybe car needs to die? dh wasnt so much as that, but was an old van and when died the other week,it would have cost 3 times its value to mend it,plus garage couldnt promise that it would make van work

mrsc sorry you gained, tho sounds like you had fun

benben again commiserations on gain :(

jojo sorry you had a crap day, but hope pizza and booze is enjoyed

abgirl hope car gets sorted but yah for extra exercise :)

shoudlers well done on 10% and 3 rd ss,so21 lbs off 'claps'

hmc 5 lbs - fuck a duck Shock well done!!!

OP posts:
hmc · 02/03/2011 21:37

Blondes - you make me laugh, fuck a duck indeed Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/03/2011 21:39

sorry, one of my fav expressions,im really chuffed for you and a tiny Envy

OP posts:
androbbob · 02/03/2011 22:12

LiitleFriendSusan - don't worry you are most definately on my spreadsheet - I probably forgot to add you to my post because people kept interupting my lunch - serves me right for lunching at my desk I suppose.

welcome to lady!

sparkle - not disappeared but had far too busy a week in RL - DD birthday and family up from Herts. so not enought time to MN! Glad the pep talk did some good! I should listen to myself sometimes as I am slipping slightly.

Bloomin ell wynken - that is a load of rotten luck - I am not surprised you threw in the towel this week! I have been getting three quotes for new windows and front doors and that has finished me off!

Back on track please benben - as you were!

JoJo - sometimes pizza fixes all - not sure about vodka but I am told a medicinal drink is good.

shoulders - well done you and fab getting two awards!

hmc - get in indeed! Send some of what you have been doing over here please - its good to share! 4.5 over two weeks os good going.

I have had a late tea due to an evening meeting at work - didnt get home until 8pm. I did fit in a workout this morning before work (polishes halo) and the bloomin gym was full of old people. I ask you - have they nothing better to do at 8am in the morning. This woman was on the rower - hardly moving at all - not entirely sure it would count as excercise. THe one nect to her became free and I showed her how to row Grin

Anyway - I had scrambled egg for tea after putting DS to bed. Until tomorrow!

JoJoBaldwin · 02/03/2011 22:22

hmc brilliant loss!

Everyone else - thanks for being kind about my crapness. I will endeavour to be a good mum tomorrow and put things in perspective xx

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 03/03/2011 07:12

Flipping Heck HMC, that is highly impressive, well done !

Blondes we did think about scrapping the car but it's at that difficult level where it's worth about 4.5k when working as a trade in so too much to scrap. We could have just bunged a new starter motor in and flogged it but I couldn't do that to someone, the DMF would have gone in a few months and they'd have a whopping bill. Plus I have no idea what to replace it with as when working am really pleased with it. So we'll run it until it drops and am starting to try and save a bit each month so less trauma when the time comes. So much for Toyota and their supposed reliability!

Androbob we're having some windows replaced at the moment, quite a difference in quotes so definitely worth getting as many quotes as possible.

Jojo, sorry about your rubbish day, let's hope today is better for both of us.

Abgirl, I have my fingers crossed it's something cheap that's gone on your car, flipping things are so stressful.

Shouldersback congratulations, 10% is brilliant !

Have woken up determined this morning and am going to have a good week, love seeing all my weekly points back again ! Thanks for the support yesterday, it really helped .

JoJoBaldwin · 03/03/2011 07:53

Morning everyone - determined to make today a good one!
Done my weeklies last night so have to be good for 5 days till weigh-in, but so easily could have done double my weeklies so a triumph of sorts. Grin

Going to get my hair done today, foils, the works. A hair do always helps lift the mood (tho I find the process deathly dull).

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2011 07:53

hmc well done - it's all that interval training!
And well done shouilders

Am trying my best, despite eating out last night and got another night out on Sat...

Wynken, what alot to spend on mending a carShock hope it goes well for ages after that!

ClaireDeLoon · 03/03/2011 08:12

hmc and shoulders well done both of you!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/03/2011 09:43

Willabywallaby · 03/03/2011 09:47

Well done to all you losers!

I was away last week and overindulged in nibbles and booze. So even though I weighed at the nearest meeting and sts I put on 1lb last night. It's my birthday today so will be trying hard again this week. Have got a bit lax with my focus, hoping it will come back.

debs39 · 03/03/2011 10:59
