hmc · 27/02/2011 16:46

Nah - you'll pull it off in 4 days, am sure you will

CRbear · 27/02/2011 16:50

Oh my word, I well and truly binged this morning...without really realising, how does that even happen.

There was cake in the house, so I picked at that (I say picked, I ate alot) instead of having my normal breakfast.

Then I had scrambled eggs on toast with some leftover pasta sauce (low in calories- small mercies) and a crumpet with marmite.

Icing of the cake consumed throughout. I am mortified with myself, but I think I had to admit it to someone.

I've worked out that if I go to tai bo tomorrow, step on tues and run on weds as planned I'll be 12 points up which I can use for a very light tea this evening. I am such an idiot, what was I thinking, I need a big loss this week :(

On a more positive note for the rest of you-
Good luck lucky- you can do it!
I'll try that wrap JoJo it sounds tasty.
I'm not a fan of interval traning hmc- if I stop I can't go again! I tend to do a songs length of 6.5km/h, 8.5km/h, 9km/h, 9.5km/h, 2 songs at 10km/h and then 2 songs at 8.5km/h before cooling down. Interval training is excellent cardio though- wish I could manage it!

hmc · 27/02/2011 16:58

It's like the AA on here CRbear - you can confess to anything and you won't be judged Grin.

We've all done a bit of binging in our time - at least you have worked out your strategy for remedial action (although it sounds exhausting!)

As usual I have used all my weeklies already (finished them off yesterday), and have to wait until Thursday until I get my next lot so major sticking to my dailies and lots of exercise over the next 72 hours (deep joy)

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2011 17:04

Coming back to climb back on the wagon after a week off - God knows how many pp's I consumedBlush

So I am going to try the shred tomorrow while I wait for the dishwasher man to appear.....

hmc what's that in km/h? I try to do some interval training sometimes, but prefer CRBears approach generally. And the cross-trainer!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2011 17:09

bigtilly try adding them up lol

i had a dh fry up this am Shock and was 17pp

'blondes faints'

but that has done me all day and had some grapes and pear this afternoon and then got 12pp for tea

i have been jotting down what i have eaten/drunk (and what i rem of last night ) and think im within 3 of my weekies pp

so if i stay within my 29 pp for next 4 days, i should lose weight

but whats the betting i sts the same

Bigtilly welcome back, how was skiing?

Just used an internet converter, the fast intervals were running at 12.07 kph and the slow were brisk walking speed at 5.63 kph. I found that I was still out of breath from the fast interval for most of the slow interval, only just recovering sufficiently in time to do the next interval.

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2011 17:15

Blondes that would be waaaaaayy too difficult, and anyway it was my week off Smile

Now I have to face WI tomorrow. Any bets on how much I've put on in a weeks skiing and eating a ton of cheese, bread and wine every day?!

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2011 17:18

hmc it was good - we were able to ski every day and virtually all the pistes were open despite the lack of snow this year.

Wow, am impressed that you can do 30 mins of that speed of interval - I must give it a go tomorrow and see if I can last 5mins!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2011 18:38

Cheese and wine diet .....

3lbs

Completed Day 2 of Shred yesterday ( with Heinz Blondes) , and it was easier than Day 1. Did a lot of walkiing today though and legs feel very tight so am going to have a night off. Also, I still have to get DS to complete half term homework, so I shall be totally mangled by the time that is done.
Nice to have you back Big Tilly are you in one piece ?
CRBear, your misdoings are minor in comparisons to some of the saturday night/sunday morning confessions I have seen on here. At least you have tracked it, so could have been worse
Fingers crossed for you Lucky

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2011 19:05

Blondes I am seriously hoping it is less than that!

Yes, all in one piece, just a bigger pieceBlush

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/02/2011 19:22

Al this talk of exercise - it is wearing me out on a Sunday evening!

I too do some interval training - seems quite good and feel great later it! (well alot later on!). Tried a new one on the rower this week - you programme it in and do 20 secs of fast rowing as if being chased by a pitbull and then 10 sec rest, repeat 8 times. You should feel knackered at the end but I am told that it will make you fitter annd stronger in 4 to 6 weeks - so will report back! It is quite good to compare each session to see the improvement.

Food wise - too much cake this weekend but back on the straight and narrow from tomorrow morning. May delay WI until Sat morning if I can to prevent any gain or STS! Grin - kind of cheating but....

Quite a few regulars missing this week - half term I expect - those pesky kids dont half stop you MNing! Even so a grand 26lb team loss this week and most people had a good start on the Easter Challenge!

Until tomorrow,,

froot · 27/02/2011 23:40

Hmc am interested in the best timings for interval training - I do 2 mins fast then 2 mins slow for half an hour at varying inclines - 10 for fast so think that's prob km p hr not miles but when the gradient is steep I just do a speed of 8 which is a jog but Bloody hard work uphill for 2 mins . Would 1 min intervals be better ? It takes a few secs for the treadmill to speed up n slow down though.

Have had multiple sneaky weighs since official WI last mon - I did lose a lb or2 last week but after my disgraceful Friday followed by all of Saturday spent catatonic on the sofa (and thus not metabolising any energy whatsoever) I appear to be about 1 lb up. Just as well I was sloop good during last week or I would be 3 lb up !!! Am hoping for a sts and will do a biggest loser style 'last chance workout' before I go ...

froot · 27/02/2011 23:41

Sooooo good last week obv not sloop good bloody iPhone

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2011 07:33

androb thats cheating Grin

popping in with my weigh-in.

not lost any weight this week. had a hard week with sick children and been feeling ill myself so i've not been drinking enough and have given in to snacking.

hopefully next week will be better.

LittleFriendSusan · 28/02/2011 10:04

Morning :)

bamboobutton - least you didn't put any on!

bigTillyMint - bet it won't be as bad as you think. you'll have been burning off a fair bit with the skiing!

Well I went out Sat night and almost had the tuna... then decided sod it and had steak & chips instead Blush. Bloody good though. Came with salad, peas & onion rings and shared small pot of coleslaw... I left half the chips but ate the onion rings (think there were 3 smallish ones?). Guessed at 24 points? 10 for the steak, 3 for onion rings, 9 for chips, 2 for coleslaw. Plus 27 points on wine Blush & 2 on triple choc bar, 5 on galaxy egg when I got in... So not great considering it's WI tonight. Still have 2 weekly points left and only ate 27 dailies yesterday but still, I don't think 73 PP in one day is very conducive to weight loss Grin. Hey ho, good night was had by all so I don't feel too bad. Sure it will even itself out next week!

chicaguapa · 28/02/2011 10:14

Sorry, I haven't read all the posts so far, but rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd just tag my question on the end of this one (if okay?)

I was just wondering if people are losing much weight on the new pro points system? I've done WW a few times and have always lost a consistent 1-2 lbs a week. But I've been doing the pro points for 5 weeks now and have only lost about 5lbs. I haven't really been using my weekly points either. I blamed my iphone app for a bit as the points weren't always accurate but I can't think what else the problem could be.

sparkle101 · 28/02/2011 10:21

Hey chicaguapa I have lost 15.5lb with pro points in 7 weeks, I use all or most of my weeklies every week. Someone wrote on here that their leader said - dailies+weeklies = calorie deficiency so you will lose weight, maybe think about having a week where you use your weeklies and see how that works, your body maybe going into starvation mode and keeping fat back as you are not eating enough. Also, have a look at what you are eating, are you eating enough of all food groups, not too much wine and chocolate, try and mix it up a bit. How much exercise are you doing? Are you storing muscle rather than fat?

This is my experience, some ladies on here don't eat any weeklies and are still doing really well, but it's worth a try to do something different.

chicaguapa · 28/02/2011 10:30

Thanks sparkle, I welcome the advice to use all my weeklies. Grin I think I'm covering all the food groups and not doing much exercise Blush. Well done on your weight loss btw. That's great!

I wonder if it's because I'm not counting absolutely everything? On the old system I didn't switch to light spread, skimmed milk etc and didn't count putting a very thin layer butter in my sandwiches, semi-skimmed milk in my tea etc as I found that I still lost weight. Maybe this new system isn't as forgiving? But then it would just mean I'm using a few more weeklies that I thought I was, so I can't see how that would make such a difference.

sparkle101 · 28/02/2011 10:36

I seem to lose weight if I have all my weeklies in one sitting (i.e. a meal out or takeaway) rather than spreading 7 per day over the week, you definately need to write everything down - it's rubbish to have to write everything but at least then you'll know exactly what you're having point wise (they may have gone up in points in the switchover so have more impact on you). I don't do a great deal of exercise either, but have bought the 30 day shred DVD to do which only takes 20 mins per day so thinking about doing that as well, but as long as you do more than you did before you start I'm sure it is fine!

The other thing I meant to say was a pound a week is great - that's almost 4 stone a year, not sure how much you have to lose but that seems pretty good to me (says her who has to lose 6!)

chicaguapa · 28/02/2011 10:46

Thanks. I guess the more slowly it comes off, the longer it will take to go back on. Hmm

I only have about 2st to lose. I think tbh it must just be that I'm older now and my metabolism is slower, so it's just taking a bit longer to come off. It's reassuring to know that other people are losing weight.

I do record everything, but I don't count cups of tea with a splash of milk in, for example. I realise that I'm contradicting myself there, but I didn't want you to think I'm having sneaky treats and hoping to get away with it! Grin

mrsharrycunningham · 28/02/2011 11:20

Morning all.

Can I ask a couple more questions? What is Shred?

Also, do you all plan all your meals for the day or week?
