Well done on the losses androbob, wizzler, benben, clairedeLoon (sorry if I have missed anyone)....

And commiserations HHY and Crbear for your 0.5lb gain. I did the same - gained 0.5lbs, but in my case I reaped what I sowed. I mistracked a lot of the week, ate all my dailies, weeklies, activity points and more besides! Blush, so I can hardly complain. Still my total loss is 28lbs in 15 weeks so tis okay. Moreover am mildly cross with my feckless self so determined to do it by the book this coming week and shift 2.5 (the 0.5 I gained plus 2 besides)at next Wednesday's weigh in

...Have to say Crbear - the demon wine was my undoing too. I see a lot of us agree that it is horrendous for sabotaging weight loss!

Littlefish · 24/02/2011 16:44

Flying in and flying out again.

I lost half a pound this week in cornwall. I've been pretty rubbish ever since though, and didn't have my books with me to point everything up. I'll have to be extra good this weekend, but it will be a bit tricky as we've got friends staying. Hey ho! Onwards and downwards.....

wizzler · 24/02/2011 17:23

Shred has arrived... however, DH and I are going out for a meal tonight with friends so it will have to wait.

Am now in quandry, was planning to choose most sensible things on the menu, then I remembered they do a divine Creme Brulee which I reckon is about 10 points minimum ... what to do? what to do?. Have been so good all day and only eaten 11 points so far, so I have 18 points, and my weeklies to go at......

BTW.. I never peel my butter nut squash either!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/02/2011 18:01

hmc sorry for gain

littlefish congrats on loss, esp as been away

wizzler why not share one or eat half (if that can be done)

im off to the gym to kick arse at body combat

Hi all,
I am back, just got online in my new house. The move has gone well so far, i'm still unpacking and trying to find room for everything as this house is much smaller and we now don't have a garage. I have quickly scanned the many posts i have missed, so welcome any newbies, congrats on any losses and commiserations to any sts or gains.

I have eaten out and junk food since sunday night for all meals due to the move, i must go shopping tomorrow. I jumped on my scales this morning and they were showing a sts so i am pleased with that but expecting it to show up next week with a gain. I am still under goal so im pleased with that. I have to say i am now craving healthy food, i feel so bleurgh from eating junk so much i just want fruit and some home cooked food.

androbbob · 24/02/2011 20:28

Aggh - just Shreded Day 1 and can feel my thighs when I go upstairs! Whizzler - is yours out of the wrapper yet??[gtin] and what about you wynken and sparkle - hmmmm?

well done to *

blondes - glad to hear you are happy and DH is bloodless!

HHY - glad you are feeling better!

CRBear - glad to see someone isn't too upset with a gain - hope you pull it round next week.

Noway - welcome back - a U2 concert in SA sounds great fun Smile There must be another event / occasion coming up soon that you can focus on? If you are within the healthy BMI range then would it not make sense to set your goal now as your current weight and then move onto maintenance. You can always drop another half stone or more later in the year when and if you feel you need to. At least you would not have to pay and only need to go once a month. Worth a thought?

hmc - only a little gain - at least you know where went wrong. Better get sorted this week Grin
littlefish - well done for your loss and for WI while on holiday - such dedication!

vnmum - glad to hear the move went well and you are on line again. Hope you enjoy your new home and find a good local class to join (if that is what you plan to do of course!)

Waiting for Tesco to bring my shopping - due shortly! I have cleaned the fridge ready. Planning to go to the gym tomorrow lunch for a short but sharp workout.

IHeartIona · 24/02/2011 21:23

hello,
well done to all this week's losers!
hi to all the newcomers too

I am pleased to say I lost 2 lb this week - hurray! now giving me 2 more to lose to get my next 7 (would be 21 lost) and get into the next stone bracket down.

froot - those noodles you mentioned earlier sound good, and it looks like they do them in Chinese/Japanese supermarkets - I will ask one of my Japanese colleagues to look for me next time they are in one as I have none locally. will report back.
also I had a thought about the points for that dessert now I've seen the recipe in Your Week - perhaps points are counted for the grapefruit juice for half a gf? could always ask customer services maybe.
androbbob - have you tried any recipes yet? I have done the pork, cherry tomatoes and feta from esource a couple of times and it is very nice.
also, I would love to take part in the Easter Challenge - great motivation! when is Easter by the way?!
HHY - half a pound on is not too bad, that's just a tiny blip. glad you are feeling more positive now.
JoJo - something like prawns or chicken with loads of veg plus small portion of noodles/rice shouldn't be too high in points - maybe steer clear of heavy sauces?
ClaireDeLoon - I use the iphone app and love it. really good for checking points before consuming! only thing is there is no recipe builder so I have to go on my laptop for that.
ShouldersBack - great weight loss since Jan! its taken me since end August to get to that Smile
Blondes - welcome back! luckily I love BNS soup too. Grin glad to hear your dh is good and has new van.
LittleFriendSusan - that BNS recipe sounds lovely, will try it over the weekend I think. 59p at Aldi is good too for a BNS!
export - do you have access to esource, plenty of nice recipes on there. you can put in what ingredients you have or want to use and search for recipes too, which is handy.
Wynken - well done on loss! hope you're feeling better though
CRbear - go for it for next week and reaching your half stone!
vnmum - welcome back and hope your move went ok

ClaireDeLoon · 25/02/2011 08:54

Morning all! Well done Littlefish going to a weigh in on holiday and losing is great! Particularly in Cornwall with yummy cream tea distractions.

Also well done to Iona

hmc at least you know why you gained and you've put it behind you ready for a good loss next week.

vnmum glad the move went well

androb yay for the shred!!! How are you feeling this morning? It was my shoulders and legs that killed me at first. Actually still do during workout. I'm on day 8 today when Ivey around to it.

wizzler did you have creme brûlée?

JoJo good luck with getting back on track!

I need someone to come round here and take the packet of choc cookie bar bites I bought at WW on wednesday off me! They're only a point each but the problem is only eating one!

wizzler · 25/02/2011 09:20

Morning everyone.

Vnmum, welcome back. Glad the move went ok.
Androbob.. Planning on starting the Shred tonight.
Claire I ate all the Creme Brule last night !
( Blondes, I dont use the sh sh share word in relation to Creme Brulee Grin) so today I am planning swimming ( with DD, not doing lengths), Karate ( with DS) and then the Shred as my penance. Wish me luck for the aches tomorrow morning !

LoopyLa · 25/02/2011 09:35

Morning ladies

For all your "winos" Grin out there "my name is Loopy & yes, goddamn it I drink wine & am proud of it", I have found that making a spritzer of the wine - so adding fizzy water or soda water to my glass of white wine - makes it last longer. I don't make it half and half (hurls) but do top up my wine with a splash or two & have found that it doesn't take too much of the taste away and is still very drinkable? Just an idea :)

I'm going to hit the vodka this week-end as I have found it's 2 points a shot - don't usually drink the stuff but HATE gin and if I mix it with a diet fizzy drink (apple, cherry or Lilt!!) then it's VERY drinkable indeed. The things we women have to put up with in the name of weight loss Wink

froot · 25/02/2011 10:24

Loopy my fave vodka drink is mosco mule - diet Ginger beer , lime juice (fresh best & some zest ) and vodka . I usually juice and grate the zest of a few limes in advance of a night out and take in a screw top cup ! I'm sure the Ginger speeds up the metabolism and the lime is packed with vitamin c so it's really a healthy drink Grin

froot · 25/02/2011 10:26

Just done shred am collapsed on bed waiting for dd (13) to HURRY UP and get dressed so I can take her to my cousins for canadian breakfast .... If I succumb to pancakes will go on treadmill later as penance ....

biglips · 25/02/2011 10:44

hi there everyone.....me and dp are thinking using the WW's recipes without joining in the WW club, can it be done? and also need to know how many calories to allow a day for each of us. is there a website for it? thanks and well done everyone as ive started running four weeks ago and i do need to lose 1.5 stones (and plus i took up running to channel my stress into it too).

i appreciate for any advices

thanks

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/02/2011 12:50

vnmum yah you are back alive :)

androb glad you tried the shred,it wasnt my thighs but my arms that ache from it

iheart well done on 2lb loss

clairedeloon 'ears prick up' chocolate for 1pp? i need some of them, but rem eat one

wizzler how are the aches, and lol at not sharing CB

loopy i also *love Wine but i lose weight if/when i drink it :( i do however love gin and slim so when out with friend tomorrow i shall try and drink that instead of wine ........

froot well done for doing shred

biglips yes you can do ww without paying joining,i do this, i just brought the books and calculator and go from there, but ww isnt done on calories but pp - each food hasa pp value, every one is allowed at least 29 a day, tho others allowed more (the daily amount depends on your age/sex/weight/height) and then everyone is allowed 49weekies

LittleFriendSusan · 25/02/2011 13:33

Well done IHeartIona on the 2lb loss & well done Littlefish for losing on holiday!

Re. wine - I have white wine spritzers too to make it go further! Have been trying to only have glass of wine during the week if have daily points left, so usually have a small glass of red and save the white for the weekend!

Don't really do spirits as they make me ill...

Speaking of Wine, going out with the girls tomorrow night. Will probably have a fair few, so have saved weeklies, but looks like we will be going for pub meal now too. It's a Hungry Horse / Greene King pub - any idea on lowish PP options?

DaydreamDollyisshrinking · 25/02/2011 13:34

Hi all

Loopy I am too an avid drinker of wine Grin am out both tonight and tomorrow night, so think I'll take a leaf out of your book and go for vodka tonight. Vodka lime and soda - yum.

I lost 2lbs this week, but I did have a poorly sick bug Mon/Tues, so that did help for my WI on Tuesday I think! But have not had much of an appetite since so it can only help. Have a chocolate craving today so ate half a pack of grapes instead. Didn't quite hit the spot but needs must.

Happy Friday everyone!

emsyj · 25/02/2011 14:27

Hello, I have just rejoined WW after a 4 year absence and wanted to ask about everyone's experiences with the new 49 weekly points. Do you use them every week?? Does it really still work (as well as the old programme) if you do use them? Just been looking in the eating out guide as going for lunch at Gusto tomorrow and seems I can have a WHOLE garlic bread with cheese AND a spag bol for 30 points, plus I'd have 19 left of the weeklies AND the daily 29???? Confused Can that possibly be right? Can you lose weight like this???

I joined on Tuesday so got a few days left before my first weigh in.

DoFliesHaveKnees · 25/02/2011 14:33

Hi all, just a wee note before I go and read the rest of the thread. WI yesterday and lost 1.5lbs, really chuffed with myself, even managed to do the shred last week too! Thats only 3.5lbs down but its a start!

hmc · 25/02/2011 15:28

Emsjy - you can absolutely totally unequivocally and definately loose weight if you eat all of your 49 weekly pps and all your daily pps. You just have to make sure your track meticulously and accurately and that you eat 'free' fruit in moderation....(and weigh and measure rather than guesstimate portion size)

LittlefriendSusan - was excited to see your query (it doesn't take much) because I thought I could use my newly purchased WW Eat Out Guide - but hungry horse / green king isn't listed there. Personally if in doubt I would choose a salad option or perhaps Penne Arabbiata if they have it (namely a pasta with a tomato style sauce rather than a creamy sauce). I did get to use my Eating Out Guide today though at Frankie and Benny's where I had sticky chicken salad with garlic ciabatta for 15pp!

I am loving the moscomule suggestion from froot - very timely, I am just updating my online grocery order so will quickly add lime and diet ginger beer. Loopyla - good tip re the white wine spritzers too. When in the car today I was followed by a white van with a business logo on it aalco - was wondering if that was a message to me from the Divine!

Blondes - an STS sounds fair then, it's not so bad when you know why it is, is it?

Good to see you back vnmum

hmc · 25/02/2011 15:46

Still missing Norma - do you think we are going to get through this whole thread before she comes back?

ClaireDeLoon · 25/02/2011 17:56

Well done DaydreamDolly and DoFliesHaveKnees! Blondes STS sounds like a good result after your night at friends.

Love the wine swap suggestions but I love my wine more. I can hear it singing my name from the fridge, icy cold sancerre. I shan't resist, am incapable.

I got the Banish Fat Boost Metabolism dvd (it's a Jillian one) today because I need to do more cardio. I might wait until I've got all the way shred before attempting it though as it sounds very impossible.
