loopy well done - fab loss!

littlefish I think we are so much harder on ourselves than anyone else ever will be. I only have about 2 1/2 to lose now but I still inwardly cringe when I catch sight of myself in a mirror... but I am working on thinking more positively about myself and I believe it is really helping. If we can't love ourselves how can we expect others to?

You have done fabulously well. Try to remember that every day you are getting slimmer. The only one that can stop you from looking and feeling great at your party is you.

So start NOW by looking at your good points, actually telling yourself aloud what you like about yourself right now, not what you will like 6mths down the line. It doesn't even have to be to do with appearance. You sound like a lovely personto me, that is something to be proud of. Do this every day, as many times as you can. The more you learn to accept and love how you are NOW the happier and more confident you will be. By the time you go to that party, not only will you be much slimmer than you are now, your self-confidence and self-image will have improved drastically.

Have a fabulous weekend away Smile

LuckyLight · 19/02/2011 21:20

Hi ladies, just checking in for my weekly weigh in if androbbob is still doing her spreadsheet? Lost 0.5lbs this week. Now 9st 12.5lbs (yay!). Should only have another 1-2lbs now to be at my WW goal of 9st 12 lbs, bearing in mind I weigh about 1-2 lbs more in clothes at WW WI >

I'm recognising some of the names on the thread, willabywallaby, froot, littlefish, hmc, blondes of course....where is Norma?? To the newer folk, I was one of the originals on the thread but had to ease off due to 'family commitments'. Like to check in with you all weekly though!

Hope you've all had a good week? I had 10 custard creams today at a kids birthday party Shock...not proud of myself. I find it so much harder to stay on track now that I am so near goal. I am happy at my current weight, but want my gold membership!!

I have about one day a week where I just think 'sod it' and go over pts, but I'm still losing each week, even if just half a lb. I still exercise 4-5 times a week, although not this week as too busy.

androbbob · 19/02/2011 21:38

litlefish - sending you a hug - I know how you feel - I still have at least 2.5 stones to go (as ever) and never seem to get past this point. Determination will win in the end. Not helped by DS who is 4 calling me fat with big boobies - thanks mate!

lucky - spreadsheet is still alive and kicking! Norma is having a MN break so Blondes has stepped into her shoes as chief motivator! Not long before you join vnmum in gold on my spreadsheet then! Also BigTillymint is getting close too! Go girlies go girlies Grin

I am faring ok - trying not to eat too much = been off a few days with kids as half term here = also had two birthday doos and another one next saturday. Scales are slowly heading down - veeerrrrrryyyy slllooooowwwwly but still down!

Gotta go - hot choc time - be back tomorrow for proper catch up!

Littlefish · 19/02/2011 21:47

Thank you everyone. I know that everything you say is right. HighHeidYin - you're right, I am very hard on myself. I always have been.

Ok. Positive things about me.

I am a loyal friend and will go out of my way to help others.

I have lovely hair - people always admire how glossy it is.

I have a small waist (relatively) which gives me an hourglass figure.

Blimey - this is hard! Why is it so hard to say nice things about yourself!

I challenge you all - say 3 nice things about yourself.

HighHeidYin · 19/02/2011 21:55

You sound gorgeous!!

It is hard though isn't it? We don't hesitate to compliment others but is so foreign to do it to ourselves. For every good point I can think about a hundred bad ones. But they are BANISHED!

Okay then...

  1. I have a good sense of humour and laugh a lot
  2. I have good cheekbones
  3. I have lots of talents

Done it. Who's next?

hmc · 19/02/2011 23:43

Hey Lucky! (waves) - always good to see you. Stick at it the gold member target beckons!

Andro - chuckled at "Not helped by DS who is 4 calling me fat with big boobies - thanks mate!" - sympathise entirely, according to my ds (6) I have "gigantic cheeks". By contrast, Dd who is older and more savvy makes encouraging noises about how slim I am looking

vnmum · 20/02/2011 08:24

Hi all, just a quick post to say welcome newbies and well done on the losses. littlefish once you can see the changes in yourself and see them as positive it can really motivate you to carry on.

I will be abit sporadic in my posts over the next week as I am in the throws of packing and cleaning the house, the removals come tomorrow, so good luck to anyone with up and coming weigh ins and I will catchup when I can.

lucky hope you get your gold in the next few weeks

sparkle101 · 20/02/2011 09:05

blondes I hope they sort your DH out soon and that you are okay.

welcome to all the new people joining us

well done on your loss bamboo loopy and lucky

littlefish enjoy your trip away, I love cornwall but that's mostly because of the cream teas! I know what you mean about the weight thing but every journey starts with one step and you are almost a third of the way through your journey, that is amazing. Imagine where you would be now if you hadn't started, and enjoy buying clothes sizes smaller and the comments from people, you have done so well!

lucky my leader told a story last week of someone who turned up to their last weigh in and took all her clothes off till she was just stood there in a bikini - she got to her gold weight. (Bit chilly though!)

Vnmum good luck with the move

Went to the babyshow in London yesterday, ordered ham, egg and chips for lunch and was happy to find the eggs came out poached rather than fried. Managed to stay within my points yesterday including a 99 ice cream. Can't be bad!

My DD was weighed last week and now weighs 15.5lbs - exactly what I have lost with WW. Lugging her around with me makes me realise what pressure I've been putting my body under and made me ever more determined to lose the rest of my weight.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Furball · 20/02/2011 09:27

oy littlefish!

I can list a whole load of positive nice stuff about you.

You have fabulous skin, you don't look your age and that's without make up.

You have an infectious smile and you always smile when you talk and are very good at telling a funny tale and making others smile too.

You are tall.

you wear really nice clothes and the right colours for you.

You have lost 2.5 stone.....ok thats not the finish line but......at least you have started the journey and are doing really really well. It aint going to happen over night. But one day soon you will wake up and be on that last stone, you will nearly have done it - I've said before - you should be proud.

blah blah blah........

We can all say the mirrors in the changing rooms are honest. I'm sure my mirror in the bedroom is convex and makes me look slim. Hmm There's not many folk who stood about 6 inches from a mirror, in the wrong footwear with glaring bright lights can honestly say they look good Smile

Enjoy Cornwall - You are aware of portion sizes etc, so ok the food might not be too WW friendly but at least you know not to have seconds or a stodgy pud. or cream in your coffee, you have the info and you will be fine

Littlefish · 20/02/2011 09:57

Furball - I have a very friendly bedroom mirror too.

You're right about the changing room mirrors - it never occurred to me that other people might look/feel bad in them too. (Not that I have a persecution complex or anything).

I'm packed a ready to go. I'm really looking forward to seeing all my lovely friends down there and will try my very hardest to exercise control! I think there's a class I can go to on Monday night for a quick weigh-in which will help me stay focussed. Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2011 10:13

5inthe bed all carbs are higher - its roughly 50g potato=1p so find a raw potato that is 200/250g and thats 4/5p and tbh thats not a bad size - though obviously bigger is better Grin

littlefish you have done so well,so dont wallow 'blondes kicks through lappy' if need be enjoy this week with kids and have the odd treat and be back on it next week

hhy wize words there :)

lucky waves, and thx to you and norma you gave us others inspiration :) 'dribbles' at custard creams, dare i ask how many pp they are each? Grin well done on 1/2lb loss - the last few are hard!!!! and maybe go in a loose dress/cotton trousers?

androbbob am i chief motivator? Blush is that ok? dont want to tred on any toes? and you will get there, just as i will eventually

3 things hmmmmmmmmmmmm

1.im confident and modest Grin

  1. im a fab friend+always there for people
  2. i love my boobs (as does dh)

vnmum happy moving/unpacking etc

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 20/02/2011 10:28

Littlefish you are doing so well and all your positives are all fab. Have a great hol and see if you can keep at least some of your willpower - that's what I'm going to try to doSmile

LeeWT · 20/02/2011 10:30

hi all

Actually on a laptop for once so I can namecheck!

norma really hope everythings ok and think I speak for everyone saying we miss you!

sparkle our dc must be about the same ages, ds was born 28th September, he is 16lbs which is the exact amount I've lost too! hoping to keep up with him ifkwim!

Well done on losses wynken, androb, willaby, bamboo vnmum, loopy and benben

Welcome koshka, doflies, fiddle, crbear and claire

blondes great that you sts despite a few nights out, thats nearly as good as losing iykwim! So sorry your dh has been having health troubles, hope you get resolution soon..

HHY my shred is still in the box but well done on weights! That calculation for your chinese sounds fine. youre the same as me, rather overpoint to be on the safe side..

Commiserations sweetheart I know EXACTLY what you mean when I put on 1 lb despite staying within my points AND walking I was ripping!!! BUT the following week I lost 4 lbs and let me tell you it was worth it!

tilly jealous of skiing!

jojo sorry to hear its difficult with the meetings. I reckon taking turns is a good bet. I found with my little girl she was an absolute nightmare unless i brought a portable dvd player or crayons and paper, basically something to do and sweets. bribery in short!

hmc my friend and I call ww fat club and in the class my friend was overheard calling that and was admonished by our leader. Cue feeling like 10 year olds in class but was kind of funny. In all seriousness though a good leader is half the battle as the classes are (I think) important..

5inthebed lmao at thought of Vicky Enthwistle!!!!

froot i didnt intend to count activity points but damn iphone app takes those first before weeklies. but for example its sunday today (over the friday and saturday danger zone) and i still have 46 of my weeklies. The numbers of activity points I earn is wild for zumba and combat!

wizzler agree with HHY about remotivating and find exercise good because after I do it, I feel better but also dont want to undo it

hmc laughing at you saying about the fruit because there was a wee old dear at our session who was all disappointed to only lose a pound so the leader investigated and asked her about the fruit. she said she made three tubs of fruit a day to snack on. When asked how many pieces of fruit in each tub? 7!!! Grand total of 21 a day!!! so funny..

Hi lucky nice to see you when you pop in!

androbbob my dd is similar, commenting on everything including the fact that my belly wobbles when I run. Felt like saying to her and ds - YES it does wobble, because of YOU!!!! oh and question about your new challenge - please say my 4lbs from wednesdays WI count?!?

littlefish i know what you mean, people have been giving me compliments the last couple days and i dont know how to take them at all..

Big challenge coming up for me - we are off tomorrow til Friday to a cottage in the Fermanagh lakelands (fave place in the world just so tranquil and beautiful) with two friends and their two kids. usually a week of excess but goint to bring shred dvd, walk loads, bring ww biscuits, ww bars and wotsits and shedload of magners lights to keep me off the wine - wish me luck! so no WI for this week but will WI following week.

Lastly on this monster post can i say how brilliant the gym has been not just weightloss wise but mentally to help with stress. its great to do a combat class and have a swim and jacuzzi with NO kids!!

good luck to everyone this week!!

x

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2011 10:49

leewt enjoy your break, love the fact you are taking wosits with you

where do you find magners light and how many pp?

OP posts:
JoJoBaldwin · 20/02/2011 13:20

Have a lovely week Lee, the lakelands are lovely, my in-laws live by Lough Erne and it's beautiful.

Very jealous of you being able to go to the gym! When I worked and before getting pregnant I used to love my swim and jacuzzi sessions, so relaxing.

Got paid cash at work yesterday and was very bad - bought alcohol and ate biscuits. Gah. Must get back on track now before tuesday meeting.

hmc · 20/02/2011 14:31

Your holiday sounds great LeeWT - have a lovely time and I hope the weather is kind to you Smile

Blondes - how is your dh today? - better I hope?
....I have to say you mentioning your magnificent boobs as point 3 of the things you like about yourself has got me imagining them!!!! (curiousity nothing furtive!) - which is just wrong!

sparkle101 · 20/02/2011 14:46

LeeWT my DD was born 18th August - was 5lb 12 when born and went down to 5lb and was hospitalised after six days so she's always been on the small side (still we get maximum use of clothes!) It's amazing to think you've lost a whole child isn't it (and well done you for 16lb) Hope you have a lovely time away and enjoy yourself!

LeeWT · 20/02/2011 16:53

Very quick post to answer question about magners lights - I've only bought them in sainsburys and tesco but the good news is they're only 2pp per bottle!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2011 17:49

hmc you ogle my boobs all you like Grin

leewt fab @ 2pp for magners light, they are nearly a pint each - or are they small bottles?

i had a yummy lunch and only 2pp and was massive

1/3bag of quorn mince cooked as a bol with tinned toms/peppers/onions etc and then on a bed of mashed bns - was scrummy

OP posts:
LuckyLight · 20/02/2011 18:12

custard creams 2 pps each! Have been god today though Grin.

LOL! Just read typo but decided to leave it in....been good today!!

5inthebed · 20/02/2011 18:54

I have 2 PP left, might just have to have a Time Out finger, to end my week well Grin

wizzler · 20/02/2011 18:58

Littlefish.. Concentrate on the fantastic achievment so far. Not only have you lost all that weight, but you have put yourself in control of your weight, not just passively letting it increase.Next time you try something on, shoulders back, stand tall and think about how far you have come.

Leewt and hhy.. OK I give in. I have ordered the Shred.

My three things :

  1. I am a good organiser
  2. I have good legs
  3. I have nice eyes
Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2011 20:18

had 2 chocolate chip cookies for 3pp today - yummy

be avoiding biscuits but they were nice Grin

having salmon 6 and rice 6 for tea with lots of garlic and seasoning

OP posts:
HighHeidYin · 20/02/2011 20:20

Evening!

Nice to see all the positive comments Smile

Let me know what you think of this idea... It is my parent's golden anniversary in 2 weeks and me and my bro and sisters are organising a big party for them. All is organised but I have been racking my brains for a present for them. Searched online but all the golden anniv pressies are pretty naff and dull.

So thought I would make my own for them! Was thinking of buying some polymer clay and making a little fun animal figurine of each one of my family - mum and dad, me, my 3 sisters and my bro. Going to have us all sitting on and around a couch. We will each have accessories which will identify each of us - I will have my fiddle, mum with her knitting etc. Will maybe add something with '50' written on it to mark the occasion. And can paint our family name on.

Was thinking of either cute little penguins, or sheep. Is that an absolutely daft idea?? I don't think I would find it too difficult as I have models before (not from clay mind you) and paint anyway. Let me know if it is a daft idea.

Great advice from everyone for littlefish! Am going to copy and paste this thread for future reference...

wizzler yaaaaay Grin Grin Havent done it today (no time) but am going to do it again tomorrow before work.

HighHeidYin · 20/02/2011 20:21
