Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy

Hey everyone, my DVD arrived yesterday and so did my ports mat. Couldn't afford buying weights too so will have to do with some water bottles for now I guess.
Quite excited about starting it tomorrow. Will try and do it first thing after getting up and then get a nice shower afterwards. Hope I am as motivated tomorrow morning Wink
Just had a look at it though and it looks really hard. Do you all really do it every day? I will probably be too sore after doing it once..

febes · 19/03/2011 05:38

Go for it Gilmore! Its great! I shred about 5 times a week and do other sessions such as swimming and walks to mix it up. I would suggest getting up and putting on your work out clothes without thinking about it to much. By the time you know whats going on your will be half way through the workout Grin

I did level 3 day 3 and I still love level 3 the best. I had to change the scissor abs to normal crunches today though as they were too hard! I have ordered ripped in 30 and banish fat boost metabolism so will have a go at them once I have finished shredding.

knottyhair · 19/03/2011 06:51

Febes, I really wanted to get Ripped in 30 but it's not available for UK players (as far as I can tell). How're things over there now? Gilmore, it might be tough at the beginning, but it does get more manageable, and it's quite addictive IMHO Smile.

flatmouse · 19/03/2011 07:26

Starting 6W6P today so will focus on that for 30 days instead of shredding. Waiting for BFBM to arrive. Can I continue to moan how hard it is on this thread?

Keep going everyone!

febes · 19/03/2011 07:29

I think the ripped in 30 I got is zone 1 DVD so US?? I only have a PS2 to play my DVDs on but will need to get a multizone player as I have DVDs from UK, US and NZ

knottyhair · 19/03/2011 07:37

Flatmouse, I've got 6W6P on order, if you get a minute, let me know what you think.

GilmoreGeek · 19/03/2011 11:29

I did it. I found it really quite hard though. I had to stop a few times in between. Not properly stop but have a sip of water before continuing. I am a bit embarrassed about that as all of you seem to do so well on level 2 and 3 Blush

But I made it and didn't have to give up after half of it I guess. I thought I would after watching it for the first time yesterday. I found all the arm exercises pretty hard. My arms and shoulders are super weak!

Febes, do you train in the morning? Do you do it before breakfast?

I couldn't find my measuring tape today. Would you guys advise me to measure? I am trying to lose weight overall anyway but it might help with the motivation?

flatmouse · 19/03/2011 12:02

Gilmore definitely measure! I didn't loose much weight (must try harder with healthy eating) but lost 28" overall Inc 5" from my waist. Yes clothes fit better but seeing the numbers in black & White was very encouraging. Would perhaps advise measuring in cm not " tho :-)

Just done first attempt at 6w6p. Oh my!
Is def a step up from shred l3. Quite fast but no high impact cardio which suits me. Couldnt do everything but as with shred there is the easy version and the "you've got to be kidding" version. Occasionally I missed a move as I was looking confused trying to work out how - so prob best to view once before attempting. It takes a little longer than shredding but I think cool down more thorough.

knottyhair · 19/03/2011 12:18

Thanks for the feedback flatmouse - I'm looking forward to it! Gilmore, honestly I found Level 1 very hard at the beginning, and couldn't imagine doing the other levels! If you can stick to it and do it as often as you can, you will notice an improvement.

jcb69 · 19/03/2011 12:39

Gilmore - stick with it. It's sickeningly true that by day 6 or 7 you will be feeling a difference in your fitness level. I don't think I will ever find some bits "easy", but it's definitely worth sticking it out.
I'm away from home for a few days at the moment and am missing it so much! Since I can't actually do it I had to come back on this thread and read about all you guys doing it!
Can't wait for Ripped in 30. Going to do the proper measurements and photos before and after for that.

JelliBelli · 19/03/2011 14:37

I did L1 D1 of 6W6P today too. It's OK, phew!

I agree will all that flatmouse said Grin. I didn't get that muscle burn that Jillian likes us to get but I did it without weights as instructed, and as flatmouse said you miss the first couple of moves of each exercise as you're watching. i think i'll probably just go for it using weights next time (tomorrow).

Retaken all measurements in hope of further change, but I think I'll change them from inches to cm, a good tip! Thank you

I still think that the first few days of 30DS were the hardest, not just physically (although when I redid them after completeing 30DS they were quite doable) but the whole "oh my god this is exercise, I'll never get better, I'm hopeless" thing. I think we all found the first days hard.

Stick with it Gilmore you REALLY will see change Grin. I exercise in the morning first thing. I get out of bed, go to the loo, get dressed and crack on. Then downstairs for beakfast and i'm done for the day. You'll probably ache tomorrow but see if you can just work through it anyway and continue. I felt better after doing the second day and wasn't so achey.

GilmoreGeek · 19/03/2011 15:03

Thank you guys. I hope it will become easier. Right now I am feeling quite good, exercising first thing in the morning seems to have put me in a happy mood.
It's definitely good to hear that you all found it hard in the beginning too.

The census people actually came during my workout and I was completely disgusting and sweaty when opening the door, properly out of breath. God knows what they must have though!

I still can't find my measuring tape and won't go into town for a while. Quite annoying. Can I get them in supermarkets?
I am definitely going to measure in centimetres, I am German so don't like inches anyway Wink

YouCantTeuchThis · 19/03/2011 15:50

Just checking in as you had fallen off my Threads - not a good sign for my shredding methinks Grin

Anyhoo, been away for a week and then came home with D&V - bad news for shredding but perhaps a small silver lining to all of the food and drink I scoffed on break Hmm

Feel better today, but not 'Shreddable' so will go for a wee stomp later instead.

I have done 3 weeks, 1 of each level. Am not sure what to start with now... Maybe back to L1 for a few days and see how it goes.

We have a very busy month in April (lambs, lambs, everywhere!) so no idea if I will fit much in apart from walking around fields Grin

YouCantTeuchThis · 19/03/2011 15:51

Gilmore - just use a ribbon or string and mark it for now - use different colours for each body part? Then you can just see the change, rather than focus on the numbers!

Labradorlover · 20/03/2011 07:33

Gilmore look back on this thread, to see the sore messes we were when we all started. First 2/3 days sore, but then a big improvement. I noticed inch loss with in a week. Not that I measured, just how my clothes fitted Smile

knottyhair · 20/03/2011 07:39

6W6P got delivered yesterday, and having seen advice on here, decided to just watch it last night to get familiar with it. As usual with Jillian, felt a mixture of "oh my god I can't do that" and "ooh I can't wait to have a go". What is it about her? I never thought I would, but I find her very motivational and want to get off my backside and do it! Can't decide whether to do another day of L3 today, and do 6W6P tomorrow or to just go for it today.

flatmouse · 20/03/2011 09:01

Go for it :)
I'll do mine later as have a few hrs freezing on side of rugby pitch to look forward to first!
My upper arms are a little stiff this morning - and can def feel that u worked my butt and legs yday. Strangely not feeling it in the abs.... Must try harder Wink

knottyhair · 20/03/2011 09:14

Done 6W6P! Not sure if I found it more difficult than L3 Shred overall, although bits of it were, and obviously doing the beginners versions on most moves, so may feel differently when I have to move up a gear! Think I'll use the weights next time I do it. Found the side planks the hardest I think! Also got very uncoordinated with the backwards lunges when they were double time Blush. Liked it though, but I think I find BFBM much harder probably because it's a bit more cardio heavy, and 40 mins! Flatmouse, enjoy the rugby.

ClaireDeLoon · 20/03/2011 10:06

How long is 6W6P?

Gilmore lots of luck with the shred, I am very unfit but the main thing is just to keep doing it consistently and really try as hard as you can. It does get better.

L3 is killing my inner thighs, have been walking along saying 'ow, ow, ow' with each step.

knottyhair · 20/03/2011 10:16

Claire, it's 35 mins including warm-up & cool down, about 10 mins longer than the Shred.

I haven't braved BFBM yet. My left calf is a little sore from going out for a run in the wrong trainers (long story) so I'll leave it (the DVD) in cellophane for another week before trying.

I couldnt do those side planks but managed the side crunches ok.

knottyhair · 20/03/2011 11:56

Hi londonlottie - amazing weight loss so far!
Flatmouse, side crunches seemed OK didn't they? I managed one set of side planks just about, got all cocky, and could barely manage 2 on the other side. Serves me right.

GilmoreGeek · 20/03/2011 13:24

I am feeling so bad today. My legs, arms and basically everything is sore. Haven't done day two yet, couldn't face it when getting up. .Am determined to do so though before I go out later. If I can even lift up the water bottles by that time, haha.

Thank you everyone for your support. It's nice to hear all your stories and to get a kick in the bum from you.
I am impressed that you felt a difference within a week, Labradorlover! That's great. And a great motivation to keep going.

Londonlottoe, that is a great weight loss. Well done you. Good luck with your shredding. Do you feel as bad as me today?

Maybe I'll take a picture today so I can track my progress. Not sure I want a picture of me in just underwear though

greenfig · 20/03/2011 22:34

Wave @ LottieGrin
