Thought I might take the liberty to start a new thread as can't seem to cram another post onto the old one and I have some positive news to start a new one with! :)

I have lost weight - almost as much as Jillian claims you will and have 2 days left!

------

Everyone is doing so well - putting me to shame with talk of Level 3 going on! Envy
:)

Level 1 day 9 today, felt harder, I assume because I had some wine last night.

flatmouse · 26/02/2011 15:15

No shed for me today but did do a 5km "run" - speed was terrible but the positive for me was the mental and physical hurdle of doing it all without resorting to walking in places. From experience I know that it's quicker and farther from here on in! (nb per lostgirl I shall be combining this with shredding not replacing)

zeeky please share app names?

YouCantTeuchThis · 26/02/2011 16:28

Oh yes Claire - the wine makes it much harder!

I have skipped up to level 2 - I was getting bored of L1 and last time I skipped up on day 5 or 6. I have a trip in 2 weeks time, so I wanted to push a bit harder...

Am in a puddle Smile But I managed most of it. Damn those V fly moves.

foreverondiet · 26/02/2011 22:42

Hello shredders! I just bought the DVD and did level 1 this evening. But was v disappointed. I guess because I am v fit from the gym. The only thing that was challenging was the press-ups as I have always struggled with full press-ups.

Should I just go straight to level 2?

LostGirl · 27/02/2011 05:54

I would still do a few days at level 1 as each level works slightly different muscle groups. Can you use heavier weights so that it is challenging?

febes · 27/02/2011 06:11

Day 4 level 2 today. Its really hard on the shoulders in level 2!! I HATE all the plank stuff. Why so much????
Still love it though and can't wait till tomorrow Smile

knottyhair · 27/02/2011 06:56

Morning! Not Shredding again today - stinking cold, cough & headache and just don't think it's a good idea. Off to London tomorrow for DS's birthday so I'll see how I feel on Tuesday. Gutted actually, I miss it Sad. Febes, nice to hear from you! x

flatmouse · 27/02/2011 07:45

Found the apps zeeky mentioned - looks good as can target specific areas of body. "lean and mean leg workout" will likely be my starting point - huge number of reps! Not sure I'll use app for actual tracking bur good can get the targeted exercises.
Rest day today.

foreverondiet · 27/02/2011 07:54

Only currently have 1kg weights, so will go and buy some 2kg ones today and depending on cost 4kg as well. 2kg would be fine for the shoulder stuff but would need 4kg to be a challenge on the dead row exercise.

What weights are others using on the harder levels.

notyummy · 27/02/2011 11:09

forever- heavier weights or try 2 back to back? Maybe go up a level first and see how you get on. I found level one on it's own too easy as I had been training a lot.

BusyMissIzzy · 27/02/2011 16:30

Mind if I join? I did the Shred back in August/September and decided yesterday to start again. Didn't do it today as did 6 mile run instead, but will be doing it mon-fri. Same as last time, the press-ups have left me with achy pectorals (I think). I have 3lbs of pregnancy weight left to lose, and a fair bit of toning up to do as well.

YouCantTeuchThis · 27/02/2011 17:10

Hello again BusyMissIzzy! I was on that thread back then and am currently on D2 L2 (although I skipped up after 6 days of L1 and a rest day).

Oh, to only have 3lb to lose Grin I go up and down 3lb in the space of 48hrs!

I am feeling a bit disheartened because I have co much to lose Sad Never mind...baby steps, and all that.

YouCantTeuchThis · 27/02/2011 17:11

so much (obviously...) Grin

BalloonSlayer · 27/02/2011 17:32

Hi BusyMissIzzy!

I am enjoying Level 1 much more the second time around.

I no longer feel frustrated and puzzled that I find the first circuit SO much harder than the others. I just feel happy once it's done and know that the rest isn't going to be so bad Grin

It's so good to know I am much better at it. I could never do the first set of cardio the first time around. I had to stop during each set of jumping jacks and jump rope I think. Blush I was just too tired to continue. Now I can do it! Woohoo!

I am the most unfit person ever so this is so fab for little old me.

CleverCircusFlea · 27/02/2011 17:50

Hello again!
My DVD arrived yesterday, still waiting for the weights, but wanted to start shredding today, so used tomato soup tins instead. Grin
It was very challenging, especially first circuit, I really thought I'll have to stop, but kept going till the end! Grin
I currently weigh 62.5 kg (154 cm height), ideally would like to lose 10 kg, but I realize that it'll take longer than 30 days...
Measurments that matter to me:
waist currently 89 cm
thigh 56 cm
under chest 82 cm
hip 99 cm
(I know that internet strangers are probably not much interested in my body fat, but putting it here will hopefully keep me motivated:))

YouCantTeuchThis · 27/02/2011 20:03

CleverCircusFlea...as I seem to have misplaced my stats from my first round of Shred, I'll put mine too. It will make you feel much better Grin

160cm height, 87kg weight. I have to lose at least 20kg but am aiming for 12kg initially. Have lost 2 already, yay!

YouCantTeuchThis · 27/02/2011 20:04

(not 12kg in 30 days!)

BusyMissIzzy · 27/02/2011 20:58

That reminds me, I should take my measurements.

Teuch 12kg in 30 days would be very impressive. I think the whole World would take up Shredding Grin

YouCantTeuchThis · 27/02/2011 21:18

Busy do I know you from somewhere? [squints] Only you use 'Teuch' and few do, other than those who knew me in my former incarnations...

I am useless at following namechanges so I wouldn't know if you had been on an antenatal thread!

I'll keep y'all posted on the 12kg loss in 30 days Grin [jogs on spot]

BusyMissIzzy · 28/02/2011 07:46

Only from the Shred threads, and you were something else Teuch-related on the last one, so I took the common denominator for the abbreviation :) I assume you're in the North of Scotland?

Took measurements last night:
waist 72cm (28")
tummy 85cm (33")
bum 90cm (35")
thigh 53cm (21")
(arms are quite toned anyway so I'm not bothered about them, and hips didn't change last time as there's not much fat on them.)

flatmouse · 28/02/2011 09:20

Level 3 Day 7 done.

Getting bored of level 3 now - i don't like it (probably because i find it so darned hard!) Not long to go before i can return to level 1 - have big plans of attempting proper push ups ....

Labradorlover · 28/02/2011 10:02

febes Day 4 Level 2, here and I hate all the plank stuff too....not as much as the first day, but it's not really getting any easier.....Off to eat a biscuit if I can lift my hand to my mouth.Blush

B52s · 28/02/2011 10:08

I shredded every day in January, and pretty much took February off. Am planning to do 31 days of March. Will it hurt as much this time round? I honestly do feel fitter and slimmer, well, my fat sits better anyway, when I am shredding on a daily basis. I don't think the wobbly mummy tummy will EVER go though. Ah well.

greenfig · 28/02/2011 10:19

YCTT Grin @ your response to lostgirls snow analogy which I LOVED! Makes such sense!
Am finding L2 much easier than L1, could I be doing it wrong or am I already super fit?Wink
Does anybody know if its possible to knit the tummy muscles back together, the ones that part during pregnancy? I fear not as some years have passed...

CleverCircusFlea · 28/02/2011 10:44

Just finished day 2 level 1, and it was more difficult then yesterday, probably because i ache all over Grin. My poor muscles must be in a bit of a shock, hiding under all this cozy fat for years and suddenly they have to do things!
