Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

sparkle101 · 02/02/2011 13:23

Norma have lost 11.5lbs so far with another 4st 2.5 to go. Argh, can't believe that sounds like loads!!!

Pasta question please if anyone can help me. Pocket guide says 40g dried = 4pp and 150g cooked pasta = 4pp. I had fresh pasta uncooked was 75g and cooked was 108g so what do I point it as? By the guide uncooked would be 8pp and cooked would be 4pp. Don't know what to do!!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2011 13:54

sweetheart good luck with tonights wi

sparkle gives loving rub where she slapped :) tbh think cake may have been 8pp, 4per slice, ive ignored it today tho its sitting in kitchen screaming eat me

wizzler needs must, it pisses dh off and its payback if he annoys me lol

abgirl well done on loss :)

norma i had quorn cheese/garlic keif 8pp and salad (had veggie for lunch) was quite tasty but obv not the same as a chicken keif ozzing butter Grin

lost 26lbs in all, need to shift another 7lbs of blubber to get back to my goal weight, but as trousers are tight, may need to shift more to get into them iyswim

never known pasta to go down in weight sparkles normally is 1pp per 10g dry

NoWayNoHow · 02/02/2011 14:11

Norma I've lost 5lbs in the first 3 weeks, and would like to lose another 10.5lbs. If I can get there, I'll reassess whether I want to lose more, but it's been such a long time since I was that weight that I really don't know how I would feel at that size again, and whether I think I still want to lose more.

HighHeidYin · 02/02/2011 14:26

Oh wow, just measured and I have lost a whopping 16cm since I started 4 wks ago!!!!

I have lost 7.5lbs in the last 3 weeks (mini yaaay) and have about 3st to go, give or take a pound. Haven't settled on my final goal weight yet.

Am going to a new dance class tonight which is being run by my girls' dance school. Will teach us some show routines and we even get sparkly canes and hats!! As long I don't have to wear a leotard and fishnets... not a good look on me atm. Or possibly ever. Will let you know how it goes!

norma that's a good idea re taking a pad and pen. Will do that. And my calculator possibly... (rubbish at counting in my head)

abgirl yay on loss!

sweetheart hope all goes to plan for tonights wi.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2011 14:35

Aimsmum · 02/02/2011 14:59

Hi everyone, would it be ok if I join you?

Starting WW tonight for the first time. I've done Slimming world in the past so think it will be a big change, so would be good to have the support. Haven't been to a class since the end of September so dreading getting back on the scales tonight!!

loubloutwinmum · 02/02/2011 15:14

Hi,
Norma lost 23 lbs since started mid Nov but got another 18lbs to lose to get me to a "healthy" weight! Thinking these 18lbs will be much harder to lose than the 23 I've already lost. DH just came home with some gorgeous smelly stuff, bubble bath, body lotion, salt scrub etc... As he thinks I am doing so well. Actually think he is just showing his appreciation for my smaller ass!!! Whatever, it is very nice.

loubloutwinmum · 02/02/2011 15:18

Welcome Aimsmum, good luck going back to WW tonight. Let us know how you get on! Lots of lovely ladies on here to support you.

Secretwishescometrue · 02/02/2011 15:29

Hi all :) well done on all the losses! I lost a shockin 11lbs my first week but stayed the same today, even a oz would have been nice but nada but still delighted with the first 11 gone... Im 15st 5lbs now and iv always been overweight to be honest anything under 12st and id be delighted but my ideal would be 10st but even 12 seems a dream! Iv af atm so am just craving food esp choc and all things carb not good... Any good low pp buys or recipes going around? Iv made some lovely ww home made soup this wk, you can make lovely creamy ones by throwing in one or two laughing cow triangles before you blitz, i love the mushroom and corgette one, tis yum

NoWayNoHow · 02/02/2011 15:45

Hello Aimsmum! Grin

NormaSknockers · 02/02/2011 15:51

Funnily enough I measured today too HHY as someone on the FB group prompted me too and I've lost 18 inches since I started PP in the 8th Niv Shock I wouldn't worry about taking your calculator, you won't have time to use it tbh. The best I've found is to take their personal card and the card that stays in the box, ask them to just bear with your second, get the date jotted down then ask them to step on. Make sure you write the weight down straight away then that gives you time to work it our :)

Hello and welcome Aimsmum, good luck for your meeting tonight. It can take a few weeks to get into the swing of it all but before you know it will be second nature. We're all on hand with support and advice so anything you want to know just ask away :)

vnmum · 02/02/2011 16:46

welcome aimsmum

Norma I have lost 3st 4lb sinced i startedat beginning of august 2009.

I had about 8 months inbetween where i didn't go to class and tried doing it on my own, and tried slimming world but during those 8 months i seemed to gain and lose the same 7lbs so started WW again at the same weight i was when i stopped going to group. I have lost 16lb since beginning of oct 2010.

I have 7 or 8lbs to go to get to my WW goal (top of bmi) but about 1 - 1st 7lb to lose to get to my goal

MyMamaToldMe · 02/02/2011 16:57

Hello - I have just joined WW online with the aim of losing 3 stone and it would be really good getting support with others who are doing the same :). I really want to do this, and would really like to have lost at least half of that (if not more) before end April (going on a beach holiday and the thought of wearing any sort of swimwear fulls me with dread!) So what do you all think? Realistic? Can it be done?

abgirl · 02/02/2011 17:01

Welcome Aimsmum

Secret I have been getting a chocolate fix from options hot choc drinks or if really desperate WW choc biscuits which I found in Asda - DH keeps them hidden though so I don't eat the whole pack!Grin

abgirl · 02/02/2011 17:03

Welcome Mymamatoldme too! End of April is 12 weeks away so being good and doing lots of activity I think a loss of 21lbs is not unmanageable - I've done it before in the same time period on old ww, but was breastfeeding which definitely helped things along...

NormaSknockers · 02/02/2011 17:08

Hello and welcome Mama, I would say you could lose a stone by the end of April, 1.5 stone might be setting your goal a bit too high but no reason why you wouldn't. I've lost a stone since 8th Nov so around the same time scale, I would probably say to yourself you want to lose a stone by your holiday and then any loss on top of that is a bonus IYSWIM? Grin

I'm the same as abgirl *Secrets, I have hot chocolate and low pointed choc treats like WW mini choc rolls (2PPs) slightly bigger choc treats like the Malteser Easter Bunny/WW Double Choc Brownie Dessert (4PPs each) Grin

OP posts:
NoWayNoHow · 02/02/2011 17:44

So nice to see new faces! Hello *Mymamatolme"! (clearly I say with all the authority of an oldie when I've actually only been on the thread for 2 weeks!!)

Norma i LOVE those Maltesers Easter Bunnies, and was going to get one today but thought they'd be WAY more pointy than 4PP!! (is pointy and adjective??) I will definitely be having one of those tomorrow - totally worth dipping into the 49!

Speaking of 49 weeklies, I've got a BIG night out on Saturday, and have decided in advance that I'm going to stick to Bacardi and Diet Coke/Gin and Slimline tonic for the whole evening, as they're only 2PP each, so reckon I'd be maxing out my allowance.

HOWEVER, I don't know what we're doing about food, and can't even have 0pp fillers at home before going out as going up to London mid-afternoon, a good few hours before event starts.

Can anyone recommend some low PP filling snacks that I can pick up from the M&S at the station, and also recommend the best bar/snack-type food to go for as I suspect that's what we'll be doing for dinner.

Want to try to plan as much in advance as I don't think I'll be able to track very easily/work out points of everything whilst I'm there.

Ta! Smile

NoWayNoHow · 02/02/2011 17:46

I hope I don't sound lazy, btw, it's just this is the first proper party night out I've had since starting WW again, and I would just be very interested to hear the advice from those of you who've had that kind of night out already - what worked, what didn't work, etc.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2011 17:49

Think dh is cooking spag Bol tonight - 125g of low fat mince is bugger all :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2011 17:53

Noway avoid wine - that's my only tip - stick to spouts and diet mixers

Maybe some homus and pitta bread? Or snack on o point fruit?
