knottyhair - i am currently in Budapest.

Why am I so hungry today??????

Buda · 31/01/2011 13:48

Cross-posted!

We had a falling out with our architect but builder is fab and he is also acting as project manager. We bought from a couple who had basically split the garden in two and built a new house which they have moved into. We are using their builder as they said he was fab. Certainly seems good so far.

dinkystinky · 31/01/2011 13:57

Its good that you've got a builder/project manager you can trust then Buda! Bet you're cold due to the -5 conditions. Have a hot drink and see how you feel after that.

knottyhair · 31/01/2011 14:50

Oh yes Buda, I guess the clue's in the name Blush. It's nice to know I'm not the only one dealing with builders etc. Mind you, my builder is also DP so it's a bit more complicated! He's done the kitchen, built 2 extensions, built a garage/workshop, put in underfloor heating and a wet room, so I suppose he's not doing too bad! Still feels like we have a way to go though...

noddyholder · 31/01/2011 15:03

Ok I have been out loads and not checking in but have lost 4 lbs despite a lot of eating out but have been v strict and not drinking much.I feel on a mission atm motivated by clothes sadly and not health

thedogwalker · 31/01/2011 16:25

Hello all, done day 3 of the shred, need to get heavier weights I think??

well I've put my shred down as 112 calories, medium aerobics for 20 mins, seemed a fair amount to me. However, I'm not sure I'm doing the food focus thing right. For my age, size etc, I should consume 1708 calories a day to lose 1 lb a week. With the exercise I've done today it reckons I should eat 1990, well it is now after 5pm here in Germany, will be having dinner soon, but out of my allowance I've still got 1134 calories to eat between now and bedtime. I have been honest with everything I've eaten and drank, even the weights of the food, so this means I need to eat more Shock.

Maybe the could be the reason I've been sts for so many weeks, I've been getting my amounts wrong {confused]. Will soon see at the next weigh in.

Hope everyone has had a good day xx

Could be TDW - your body could have gone into starvation mode which ironically makes shifting weight much harder! If you're still bfing (no idea if you are) I'd recommending upping your calories - again upping that and water intake while bfing wierdly helps you lose weight.

Noddy - well done. Who cares if its clothes motivating you - its doing the trick!

knottyhair · 01/02/2011 09:51

Morning! Noddy, well done, fantastic!

Just done Day 9 of Level 1 Shred. Def getting a bit easier. Really love the butt kicks after the static lunges! The plan is to finish Level 1 tomorrow, day off Thursday and attempt whilst crying start Level 2 on Friday. Chicken soup for lunch today, then a healthy version of fish pie from the good old Good Food site for tea. Hope everyone has a good day x

noddyholder · 01/02/2011 11:06

I walked to teh dentist and back and don't think I can eat as too painful so thats me taken care of! The thought of the beach is keeping me going.Dp then said he fancied going to ireland instead of a hot holiday which is a bit of a disincentive Well done with the exercise!

dinkystinky · 01/02/2011 11:12

DP can go to Ireland and you can take your newly slim self off to a beach in the med instead Noddy Wink Sorry to hear your teeth are hurting - hope the pain subsides soon.

Did killer circuits this morning - have had green tea and muesli (small portion) with yoghurt, pilates at lunchtime followed by Itsu salmon and tuna salad and miso soup, some satsumas in the afternoon time and prawn stirfry for dinner tonight I think.

justaminute · 01/02/2011 11:35

Noddy - My dh wants to go to Ireland too. He wants to tour it in a camper van. After a wet holiday in Dorset last year I?ve put my foot down and we?ve booked a week in Greece Smile.

noddyholder · 01/02/2011 11:46

We have been to the med for the past few years and I am happy to go back!Dp wants a change but the thought of driving around in the rain?NO!!!!!!

Shaxx · 01/02/2011 18:59

I need to fight my way back into the zone!
A weekend of wedding AND a birthday party and late nights has thrown me way of course.

I hereby declare that I am resuming my healthy eating regime. Thank you. Smile

thedogwalker · 01/02/2011 19:44

Good for you Shaxx, get back in that zone.

Hi all, day 4 of the shred for me today and feeling good Grin

Food focus is also helping me, and I find that I am eating more, but probably just spreading it out through the day. Well Hope to see some results this friday. Even having a treat of glass of wine, just to use up my calories Shock

Well done Knotty on the shred, way to go girl, good luck with level 2.

Bah humbug to Ireland, go to hot and sunny and show off new trim body Wink

Hope everyone is well, take care xx

knottyhair · 01/02/2011 20:58

Shaxx, good for you. It's hard when you've got parties and stuff, isn't it? I'm already thinking about DS's birthday party at the end of the month and worrying about planning in a piece of cake and a sausage roll, maybe a glass of fizz... we'll see.

TDW, thanks for the encouragement! Glad you're feeling good!

I wouldn't mind Ireland or somewhere hot Grin.

dinkystinky · 01/02/2011 21:00

DS2's party is in a couple of weeks too - he's only turning 2 and im shock at that!

Well done for heading back into the zone Shaxx - hope you had a fab time.

thedogwalker · 02/02/2011 08:31

Day 5 in the big shred house. Feeling good again today, it is so much nicer waking up knowing you had a good day the day before, really sets me up for the day. Much better than last week when all I did was biff.

Food focus seems to be going well, even though I am eating more,Confused have to use my calories up somehow, so a bit of chocolate and a glass of wine was had last night, little treats, not a lot but hey they keep my morale up.

Hope everyone has a good day and keeps in the zone. take care xx

Morning! Last day of Level 1 of the shred here - I've a feeling I'm going to miss it when I start level 2!

TDW, glad you're feeling good this morning, same here (so far!). I know what you mean about the calories. Last week I couldn't quite believe I was allowed to eat that amount but it seems to work (well, it did last week!). I'll have to wait for Friday I suppose.

Dinky, hope your little one has a good time. It's a cliche I know but the time does go by so fast, not sure at what point I turned my back and my chubby baby DS became a lanky nearly 7 year old.

Shaxx · 02/02/2011 09:46

Dinky enjoy your little babys 2nd!
Its true Knotty, time goes by so quickly. I've got ds1's 6th coming up in a couple of months.

I had a great time at the wedding and birthday but had loads of food inc lots of cake! My sister forced some leftovers on me too so I had to finish it off.

Well done to you Shredders. I'm going to start again today. I think I'll do 3 days on level 1 then go onto level 2. I did about 8 days of L1 just before I got all the winter bugs and coughs. I've done the whole 30 days before so am getting bored of L1.

I'm going to write my daily plan here to help me stick to it.

porridge
2 quorn sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes
thai chicken and veg
fruit and fat free yoghurt for snacks

exercise - shred

Buda · 02/02/2011 11:51

Hi everyone. Have been crap. Again.

So. Have joined up to WW on line and will start tomorrow. Will plan what I am eating and start tracking. I am hoping that the novelty of it will boost me a bit.

Really want the weather to warm up here. Am so fed up of it being so cold. It is currently -2. Due to start getting warmer from tomorrow though. Yay!

DH is out tonight so I am having pasta with pesto for dinner.

Off to sort out my meal plan for next few days!

thedogwalker · 02/02/2011 12:25

Good luck Buda, hope WW helps you. Don't worry about the biffing, just put it behind you and move on. Onwards and Upwards from here. It is misrable here in Germany too, -4 today, makes me want to stay inside, but I will venture out for the walk with the dog and pram in a short while. Have to wrap DS really snug and tight.

Shaxx, good luck with the quorn, I have tried it and hate it, nothing could make me eat it.

Dinky, 2 year old birthday party, oh have fun. Lots of games and loads of party food. Let the LOs eat the food Grin. My LO is 5 months and I think that has flown by, I know I will blink and he will be celebrating his first birthday. I remember people telling me, before I had him, how to cherish the time as it goes by so quickly, I didn't appriciate what they said at the time but I do now. So glad got another 3 months of maternity leave left. Wouldn't go back at all if I wasn't held in a contract. How do you find the time to fit all the exercise in with your 2yo? Hope I can do the same.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 02/02/2011 14:26

Buda - well done on joining WW online. My top tip on the pro-points plan is to ignore the bonus points (49) and just focus on getting activity points if you think you're going to overdo your points as otherwise you're not going to break out of the biffing cycle.

TDW - would you believe it, I also have a nearly 5 year old (5 in April - in denial about that too!) I try to cram exercise in during the week (before work or during lunchtime) and one session in early (at 8am) on a Sunday morning (with 2 little ones who are early risers, lie-ins are a thing of the past). Once I finally stop bfing DS2 (hopefully in the next few months) I'm going to try to do an evening class too and our nanny can babysit for the kids for an hour or so after work.

Guitargirl · 02/02/2011 20:49

Buda - everyone I know who has done WW has been very successful on it, I do believe the adverts which say it can result in long-term weight-loss. The only reason I don't think it would work for me is that I wouldn't have the patience with the whole points thing. But good on you! And I totally get what you mean about the novelty aspect being appealing, any kind of kick start is good I reckon.

Dinky - enjoy your DS's party! We had a joint party for DD and DS a couple of weeks ago where I ate my weight in cheesy puffs - and that's quite some weight at the moment! Blush

I am still plodding on with Shred, missed a day yesterday as I was at work late but I walked loads to make up for it so am hobbling about with stiff legs today. Am planning on staying on Level 1 until Monday and then attempting Level 2 which will mean 2 weeks on Level 1. One of the main things I like about it is that I actually don't find her irritating. I have done DVDs in the past where I have wanted to punch the instructor they were so smug and annoying. But this am actually finding quite bearable!
