Ww WI tonight and I lost 2lb - very pleased especially as I havent had a poo today !

Vn mum didn't read your rice message til too late but I have done 'whizz & blast' with peppers before and am sure carrots would be ok too . I nearly always use courgette but have resorted to mushrooms when nowt else left . The trick is to make sure you have rice sized bits and only a brief blast in the microwave so veg still raw but hot to get the rice-like mouthfeel.

Am interested how many days of level 1 shred peeps are doing before moving up A level - I thought I would stay on level one until I can do the press-up s properly and not just from my knees .......will take me bloody weeks to get to that point though -30 week shred maybe ....

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2011 23:28

milliways calculator is fab - eating out guide ok but lots not in it that was in old one ad shopping guide complete waste of time :(

Too few foods/shops in there

Also DON'T but off eBay - much cheaper to buy off ww website - I brought calculator for £9 yet they are selling for neatly £20 on eBay

hmc if ww wants us all to eat the extra bonus PP as will help us lose weight then why didn't they add them to the total day - ie 36 for an average person?

I feel bad eating mine :(

I want to know do those who eat all/most of the bonus PP actually lose more weight then those who don't?

If been good all week is it worth eating the bonus PP left even if 20/25/30 te night before WI - or will that make you gain?

Hello any newbies and well done on any loss's - on iPhone and can't reply as well as read as easily

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 18/01/2011 08:12

Flipping heck, some great losses going on, huge congratulations to you losers!

Apologies, I can't scroll back do can't do names as memory rubbish these days.

Littlefish and LeeWT my period plays havoc with weigh in, it's the week after that gets me and there is a noticeable pattern in my weighin book. Fustrating , but if you can take a monthly view of your loss as it balances out. And hopefully you will have lost when you get on the scales.

Froot Congrats on loss. Thank you for the veg blitzing idea, will definitely try that. I feel hugely better with a reduced amount of carbs, has been a revelation.

Blondes I vary with how many of my weekly I have, this week and last week around 32 mark, lost 1.5lvs which is good for me as often gain or sts due to TOTM that week. Christmas week I ate all weekly and 33 activity points and lost 1.5lbs. I think the reason they don't give us extra each day is so you don't need to worry about saving and so you have a pot to dip into when you need it without thinking you haven't saved enough and have now ruined the week or the did it affect as I always think of it. Personally I use the majortity of my weekly points Thurs (WI day), to Sun, then have Mon-Wed on daily only but a few left to dip into in case of being invited out situation .

Two of my friends who have been previously SWers have defected to WW online this week. I think my raving about PPs got to them ! When we all started last year they both had lots less to lose than me ie I had 7 stone and they both had 3 stone. Fast forward 6 months and I have 4.5 stone, one has 3 stone and the other 3.5 stone. Goes to show how it really is worth just sticking with it even if loss is not very quick and that the annoying small losses add up over time whereas if you do nothing you can end up bigger as one of my poor friends has done. Really hope they get on with PP's now after me saying how good it is.

going · 18/01/2011 08:28

Just a quick one for the moment. Lost 3lbs this week!

NormaSknockers · 18/01/2011 08:45

Good morning everyone,

My goodness what an awful lot to catch up on Shock I miss one day and there's pages to wade through, good to see the thread busy Grin

So - the big question is, do we have anyone who's achieved the firsy, or even maybe, the 2nd prize winning goal yet? Andro I will need your excellent spread sheet skills to check that for me pretty please? Grin

Last was was so nervewracking, it was fun to help, but eeek I was terrified, when you're on the spot trying to work out everyone's losses and you can't get your brain in gear it's scary Blush Hopefully I'll be much better next week now that I've done it once!

I'm off to have a read and a catch up - I might be some time Wink

NormaSknockers · 18/01/2011 09:14

gibberish I know you mentioned it a few pages back now but you said you were shocked at the high points value in Philadelphia light, are you going by esource? Only there's an error with esource as it states that Philadelpgia Light is 4 PPs per 30g but it's not, it's 1 PP per 30g - don't if that helps?

Starvin well done on your excellent loss, that's brilliant!

DB I know it's hard but please don't get disheartened, when you started WW did you eat a lot the week before or the same as normal? The reason I ask is as Sparkle said some people, like myself, are 'two weekers' where if you have a brilliant week it doesn't show until the following week, or vice bersa, you have a bad week but again it doesn't show until the following week. So maybe if you'd eaten a bit more the week before you started WW your loss may not show until next week if that makes sense? I know it's hard when you don't see the fruits of your labour but please try not to let it upset you. I bet you'll have a fabulous loss next week :)

Lee so sorry to hear about DS, poor little man and poor you, it must be a very hard time :(

Blue that would have frustrated me too. Can you think of any reason for the gain? Are you due on? Ovulating? How was your week food wise? Can you back over your tracker just to see if you've eaten differently to last week? How was your food last week, do you think it could be something catching up with you?

Oh vnmum what a crappy weekend you've had, no wonder you reached for the junk food can't say I blame you. I know it's almost impossible at times like this but please don't punish yourself or let the guilt wash over you. Moving house is stressful enough without children to deal with and sickness too, you've recognised you've gone off track and you're trying to rectify it and that shows great commitment and focus so don't let it get you down ok?

Hello and welcome Pimms you'll find this thread brilliant for support :)

Excellent loss well done Sparkle fantastic Grin

Littlefish I often find I can gain a good 2-3 lbs when I'm due on/on and it usually takes a good few days to balance out. Have you ever tried taking aquaban as that can really help and make a difference.

Well done Dyzzi a fab loss!

hmc you're so right about our bodies clinging to fat if we don't enough. Our body starts to panic that it's getting starved so it starts storing the fat incase it doesn't get fed again IYKWIM?

Milli if you're going to attend meetings and pay via the monthly pass (that's the cheapest option) then everything you need is right at your fingertips, and if you have an iPhone the app is brilliant and you really wouldn't need anything else. If you're planning on doing it from home then I would suggest getting the calculator and perhaps the eating out guide :)

Well done Froot another excellent loss!

Blondes to give you an idea re weekly points vs no weekly points I have used my weeklies every single week apart from this week. This week was my second biggest loss since starting PPs so although it certainly made a difference by not eating my weeklies it wasn't a very big difference IYSWIM?

going another fab loss well done you!

There's a total loss of 114lbs at my meeting last night, I was gobsmacked by that!

Good luck to everyone weighing in today Grin

Morning,

ekk need to post really quick!

Well done on the losses going, dyzz, froot, Norma and sparkles (particularly impressed with yours sparkles!)

Hello to pimms - I use various things for sweet cravings - milky bars 2pp, options hot chocolate 1pp, marshmellows, ww puddings etc

blondes - nightmare with the car - hope you had a more relaxing evening. FYI I have only been eating about 5 of my weekly points so far. Lost weight week 1 and hope to this week too.

gibberish - sorry to hear your so busy but great that business is going well!

androbob - office move will be great - at my fattest we were in central town opposite a bakery - we used to have cakes all the time. Now we are in a remote area and I have to bring all my food in with me - it is much less tempting!

milli - hello, please be careful not to buy the old book's if you are buying off Ebay as ww have recently changed their points system - I'm sure you know that already.

Lucky - you don't need to go to the gym to do sprints - the guy I was talking to has been just going out running to do them.

Today I am in a pair of old fav trousers which I haven't been able to get into since before xmas. They are a little snug but they go on!

2nd wi tomorrow so I'm going to do some cycling today and tomorrow - kind of last chance workouts!

I've got a big weekend coming up - two meals out in a row so I've decided no treats until then, I've set myself a series of mini goals to meet by then which are - 2-3Ibs this week which would take me to a 5-6Ibs loss - must get my 7Ib the following week which would make me 11st 1.5 then the following week I want to get to 11st or under. so that's goals for the next 3 weeks and then the big weekend of dinners out!

Also booked my birthday party last night so must get in shape my March 19th!

Good luck everyone today!

StarvingMarvin · 18/01/2011 09:41

Arrgh just typed a HUGE MESSAGE WHICH HAS VANISHED! ooops sorry for the caps.

WEll done for all the losses everyone!

Luckylight Good luck for the weigh in today, how are you feeling after your first shred? My thighs are burning!

Lee How is your DS today?

It's my birthday tomorrow so am hoping to have a spectacularly good day today as am out for lunch tomorrow and Thursday and want to splurge a little but really want to see another loss this week am so looking forward to waving goodbye to my first stone!

hmc · 18/01/2011 09:42

Well done froot and going on those great losses!

Froot re "I thought I would stay on level one until I can do the press-ups properly and not just from my knees" - I was exactly the same, but after about 15 run throughs of level 1 and still not managing text book press ups I decided enough was enough and moved to level 2!

Blondes - I think it is as Wynken says - they keep the 49 weekly pps separate because they know dieters will have off days or a meal out, and before weekly pps some of us would have thought "bugger it, I've screwed up my diet now - no point in bothering for the rest of the week now...hmmm - where is the cake tin?"...whereas now you can legitimately eat more than usual on certain days and take it from the weekly pps (to which you are entitled) with a clear conscience. More motivating to stay on track that way? Our leader has said those weekly pps are definitely built in to your points allocation and you should lose an average of 2 pounds a week if you use all your daily and weekly points....

vnmum · 18/01/2011 09:43

morning all,

Well done on the losses Norma, froot, Sparkles, dyzzi, going* and anyone else i have forgotten, so many names to remember while typingSmile

Lucky i find that i sweat more and feel like i've had a more intense workout after a run rather than the shred b i think thats because the run is high intensity cardio and the shred is more toning so my muscles ache more the next day. I am due to start level 2 today so i may be eating my words if i finish it dripping and unable to walk, lol

TartyMcFarty · 18/01/2011 11:56

Well done going and froot.

Littlefish, I also had a sneaky weigh in yesterday, not realising my period was on its way, and hadn't lost any more since the weekend, despite lots of high intensity exercise. Today though, I'm over a lb less.

LuckyLight · 18/01/2011 13:05

Afternoon all,

WW WI this morning......I lost 1 lb! Actually very pleased cos after my crap half lb loss at home weigh in, I really thought I would either stay the same or even be a bit more Shock. I am only 4 lbs from goal......!! It's so near I can almost taste it!
I had to pop to town before WI, and was going to the car to drive to WI, then realised it was only a 10 min walk so decided to power walk (with buggy)!

SHRED.....I feel OK today, Glutes aching very slightly. I can already do a full press up so actually considering moving up to level 2 in the next 2-3 days??

Just had a very indulgent post WI lunch of 2 crumpets with marg, and a WW rich toffee bar...YUMMY!! I like to have a treat after WI, if I lose!

Lucky X

LuckyLight · 18/01/2011 13:05

blimey, 814 messages....we'll need a new thread soon!

bluebump · 18/01/2011 13:27

hmc I have that Covent Garden Soup book too, I love it but find they aren't that healthy, yummy though!

NormaSknockers I don't really know what caused the gain, on my pill I don't get periods but if I did it would be this last week so maybe it could have been that. I only went over my points twice but even then that only used about 10 of my 49 bonus points and I never use much more than that normally. Oh well, here's hoping for better at the next weigh in!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2011 14:12

Wynken you have done so well, be proud and sure your friends will have success as well - maybe i need to eat my weekly pp up or have a sweet treat every day, but tbh i dont eat sweets/desserts much - i dont see the point (hee hee) to eat for the sake of it - surely that isnt healthy?

going well done on 3lbs loss :)

norma sure you were very helpful last night

gibberish i was going to say the same as norma, phili ex light and i are best friends :)

starvin happy birthday for tomorrow :)

froot excellent loss and who knows what you could do if you have poo - last xmas i didnt go for 6 days and did a 7 lber - dh was most Envy

lucky well done on loss, you are nearly at goal :)

sweetheart · 18/01/2011 14:36

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Starvin!!!!! Hope your having a wonderful day and being spoilt rotten!

lucky well done on your loss - phew!

Just been to the gym and managed 20 mins cycling - will have to see if my leg swells up from it. I've given myself 2pp for it as the online thing said either 1 or 4 depending on intensity - I cycled 8.5km in 20 mins, not sure what level that counts as!

froot · 18/01/2011 15:12

Blondes 7lb loss or a 7 lb poo ?!!!!!!

NormaSknockers · 18/01/2011 15:53

Well done on the loss Lucky glad you're pleased :) Another 8 pages to go 'til we'll need another thread but the rate we're going it won't be long Grin

Blondes you did a 7lb poo?! Shock Grin Wink

Maybe it is your would be period Blue? Very frustrating for you as you clearly had a very good week food wise. Hopefully next week will be a superb one for you!

OP posts:
LuckyLight · 18/01/2011 18:31

Just did 30 mins in the pool while DD1 had her swimming lesson, gave myself a hard workout of fast walking/cycling in the pool aswell as some aquadumbell arm ex's. Was quite hard!

I feel so motivated now..... really want to get to goal before 11th Feb cos then I can be a gold member, and not pay!!

sweetheart well done on the cycling, how is the knee? The book suggests clasing it as low, med or high depending on your perceived level of exertion, so take into account whether you could still talk?
I always find this hard, cos I don't class anything as high intensity unless I feel as if I am dying, you know, bright red, about to throw up.....but then I think, well, my 64 lengths of non stop front crawl is probably high intensity too? (just my usual being hard on myself!!).

wizzler · 18/01/2011 19:04

Went to WI tonight and stayed the same. Am not too Sad as I weighed myself this morning and I had definitely lost from this time last week. Am putting it down to the change of WI time, as I usually get weighed at lunchtime, pre sandwich!
Well done to all you Losers!

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Starvin

NormaSknockers · 18/01/2011 19:17

I'm glad you're not to sad about STS Wizzler you're probably right about it being the fact you've weighed in at a different time so maybe you have really had a loss.

Well done on all the exercise Lucky, you must super honed Envy

Can I just ask your opinions please ladies - just had a chinese for the first time in months and months so haven't pointed it on the new system before.

Now according to the Eat Guide the following are;

Special Fried Rice 23 PPs
Mushroom Chow Mein 6 PPs
Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls 13 PPs
Prwn Crackers 9 PPs

and all of those are as they come, ie the entire carton full so I have worked mine out as the following;

Just under half a Special Fried Rice - 12 PPs
A quarter of chicken chow mein - 3 PPs (I made it up to 10 as we had chicken not mushroom)
3 Sweet & sour chicken balls (10 in a portion) - 4 PPs
3 Prawn crackers - 3 PPs

What do you think? Think that's about right? I've rounded up instead of down to be on the safe side.

I'm still within my daily points too as I'd only had 4 PPs so far today - even better!

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 18/01/2011 19:18

Well I didn't dare go to weigh-in this week as I had had a really bad weeekend and I also got my period. Anyone else get really bloaty at the time of the month?

So now I'm trying to stick to writing everything down, but I've got another meal out tomorrow and a party Saturday......

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2011 19:21

norma, im assuming ALL are per dish and i shared with dh sat night, and halved the pp - so yes think your cals are right

yes was a 7lbs poo - weighed before and after and lost 7lbs :) - there was a thread on here about it - was funny reading

NormaSknockers · 18/01/2011 19:48

That's how I read it too Blondes that all points are per dish so as we've both assumed the same sounds like we're on the right track Grin

Naughty Tilly, though I can understand where you're coming from as I've been tempted not to go before now. Absolutely, I always get bloated at my TOTM and can gain quite a bit. have you ever tried Aquaban, supposed to be very, very good for keeping the bloaty feeling/weigh gain/water retention at bay. Can you cook yourself a batch of 0 soup to have for lunch tomorrow and before the party on Saturday to help keep you on track?

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 18/01/2011 19:50

Have we had someone reach one of the magic, prize winnings 7lbs loss since the weigh in started this week? I have the prize ready to go Grin Will have to get the lovely Andro to check her glorious spread sheet for me Grin
