Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Ah, Are you doing it online or going to meetings? Don't lose the faith though, there is always next week! Have you increased your exercise much? I think that has definately helped me- have been power walking. How much do you want to lose? I think next week will be your week, you body has just be adjusting this week- will be falling off now!

shonnomanom · 17/01/2011 10:44

Morning!
Congrats to all who had a succesful WI today!

db, just a thought, but, at my first PP meeting last week, we were told to make sure that we had 'filling food' at every meal. You know the food that is highlighted in the books. Anyway, maybe if you werent having enough of the highlighted foods your body wouldnt be burning it of the same iykwim.
Im a complete novice at the PP so just ignore me if im talking jibberish.

I woke up this morning felling eager to exercise dusted off the old Wii bored only to discover that it has died on me. Hopefully a new set of batteries will kick start it later on.

Sho x

Morning all,
what a fab group weight loss we had last week.
LeeWT sorry to hear about your baby being in hospital again. Hope things get better for you soon, it must be such a worry.

Welcome to all the newbies, this thread just keeps getting bigger. It will be as big as an official meeting soon.

Well, i have a confession. I have had a crap weekend. I think my goal of getting to goal weight by 17th feb is now out of the question. I have been busy and stressed all weekend with packing ready for the move, the kids have been playing up (probably due to the packing etc) and last night DD (3) threw up in her sleep all over her bed and floor. I smelt it when i went to check her before i went to bed so i was abit worried she hadn't woke up and couldn't help thinking what would have happened if she wasn't led on her side. So a mass clean up was initiated of DD, bedding etc, then we had to get the carpet shampooer out at 11pm to do the carpet as they are cream. We put her in our bed while DH did the carpet and she then threw up on our floor, so that had to be cleaned, then DS (5) woke up from the noise and I had DD in with me for the rest of the night so i could keep an eye on her. So i didn't get much sleep coz i was up with her being sick through the night and now DS woke this morning looking pale, complaining of a sore belly and not able to eat breakfast, so he's off school (as a precaution really, rather than risk him being ill at school).

SO I have eaten so much crap over the weekend it's unreal, and i don't really know why. I had cream cakes, chocolate, biscuits etc. I am hormonal as due on this week and i do use stodgy food as a coping thing when i'm stressed but now I am 30 points over my weeklies.

I know it is a big blip and i am back on track today but now i'm trying to fit in a shred and a run today with 2 ill kids and me being tired from last night, just so i can make up some points and because i haven't exercised since thursday.

Hope others had a better weekend than me. I'm off to see how i can occupy the kids so i can shred before i start to go tired again.

sparkle101 · 17/01/2011 11:43

DB when I went to weight watchers on last plan my leader used to say some people are 'two week' people, after I didnt lose anything in the first week, she asked me if I had eaten bad stuff the week before I joined which I had knowing I'd be joining weight watchers and she said that some people's bodies just take two weeks to process stuff IYSWIM. The next week I lost 4 lbs so it evened itself out over the two weeks. Don't give up!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2011 11:57

leewt sorry to hear ds back in hospital :( but well done for not ruining diet with hospital crappy/fatty food and planning ahead!!

db what a bummer, esp if been good , but dont let it get you down and continue tracking and hopefully next week will be yr week

sweetheart HOPE PHYSIO GOES WELL

whoops hit caps

starvin thats fantastic - well done :)

vnmum poor dd, and hope ds feels better soon - often pig out when due on, so dont worry

ive made yummy 0 point celery soup :)

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 12:19

thanks everyone sorry i find it hard to talk to everyone on these big threads.

blondes that sounds horrific you needed cake.

to answer questions i am 11 11 and want to be 10. i am normally v. active i.e. run 5 miles 3 4 times a week but slacked off with the snow and then illness, so will try and get back to that. i do eat filling foods. ie. porridge for breakfast, lentil soup for lunch adn then whatever i am cooking for the family but track my portions. heh ho.

StarvingMarvin · 17/01/2011 13:00

DB, I think losing is always alot slower when you are already reasonably fit and have less to lose. I am 12 now and would love to be 10- you are closer than me so that's one good thing! I wish I could run but am too unfit.

I have just done shred for first time- my god I am feeling it now. My legs feel like jelly. I'm glad I've done it though, will hopefully get easier every day!

LeeWT · 17/01/2011 13:01

thanks for all the well wishes everyone..

DB I think sparkle is right about the 2 week thing I'm definitely one of those people.. My advice would be go for it for another week making sure you use your daily points every day and review in a weeks time.. We'll all be here to keep you going!

vn sometimes you have to throw your eyes up to heaven and have a piece of cake. Being a parent is the best thing in the world but it's also the hardest so sometimes you have to give yourself a break.. Hope it allgoes ok!

For anyone with an iPhone I use the iWatchr app and it's brill as it has a calculator on it and also it shows how many points you have left without having to go into the app itself.. I find it good as it's a constant reminder of what I have left.. The ww keyring is the same idea too ..

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 13:06

starvin - ah teh mythical shred!

sweetheart · 17/01/2011 13:19

blondes - OMG that sounds like a total nightmare - no wonder you went for the cake. But well done for coming here and admitting it - that will help you stay focused and get back on track quickly!

DB - you have similar stats to me - I am currently 11 5 and want to get back down to 10. I find it really hard to lose weight and have to ramp up my exercise and practically starve myself to get weight off! Total pain for me as I can't hit the gym as hard as I'd like right now!

Physio went ok - she says I can cycle now the swelling has gone down - hooray! Bonus points here I come Grin

sweetheart · 17/01/2011 13:29

Oh also wanted to share - I was talking to someone yesterday who said he had watched a programme where they made 2 average blokes follow 2 training plans with the same food intake.

bloke 1 had to do the government perscribed 20 mins 5 days a week exercise and bloke 2 had to do the scientist prescribed exercise which was
sprint as fast as you can for 30 seconds
walk for 30 seconds
repeat 4 times

Apparently the guy doing only 4 mins exercise a day lost MORE WEIGHT than the person doing 20 mins.

Now I'm not sure as I didn't see this myself and I'm sure there are lots of other factors involved but this guy said he was giving it a go and seeing good results too.

Also wanted to say I have brought grapefruit after it's recommendation here. I bloody hate the stuff and haven't been able to bring myself to actually eat it yet but perhaps I'll give it a go today.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2011 14:26

WASNT ME SCOFFING CAKE Grin

THO TEMPTING

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 14:33

it is dd's bday tomorrow so it will be caketastic here tomorrw.

sweetheart · 17/01/2011 14:58

whoops sorry blondes - meant vnmum!

vnmum · 17/01/2011 15:45

Hi all,

well DD seems better today, don't know what caused it last night. DS however has spent most of the day lying on the sofa saying he is cold but feeling hot to touch. Temp slightly raised but not loads and generally feeling crap. He's perked up now but i think that could be the wonders of calpol.
Whiole DS was asleep on sofa i managed to fit in a shred (level 1 complete, level 2 tomorrow [sceptical]) and a 20 min run with DD watching TV so thats 8 points made up, only 22 to go before thursday Smile.

I am having a low fat chicken korma tonight but was wondering what i could have instead of rice to keep the points down? I need to do a shop so the only things i've got in are carrots, mushrooms and peppers. Can i do anything with these that would work with a korma?

bluebump · 17/01/2011 15:58

Well done everyone - there are some great losses this week!

I am bucking the trend as I actually PUT ON weight this week - 2lbs to be exact. I had a face a bit like this on the scales Angry Confused Angry Confused as I have gone from doing no real exercise for months to last week where I walked to work every day (15-20 mins approx...got a lift home though!) AND started doing the shred dvd which I did 3 times AND I didn't go over my points...(can you tell i'm really annoyed!!)

LeeWT I hope your DS gets well soon. Smile

Littlefish · 17/01/2011 16:30

Aaaaaaargh - just typed a long message and tried to post it, but it crashed! I'll be back later to type it again. Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2011 17:23

Ahhhhhhh

Having a nightmare :(

Car has flat tyre. I'm down a country lane and car doesn't have spare - just an inflation/foam kit but that's no use if tyre is fucked :(

5 kids and me in the dark - AA is on it's way .......

We are all Hungary and if there was food I would be eating no matter what it is

NormaSknockers · 17/01/2011 17:26

Evening all, just dashing in quickly as heading off to my meeting early tonight, I'll update as soon as I can but probably won't get to catch up 'til tomorrow, hope you're all ok? Grin

OP posts:
DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 17:28

blondes eat the juiciest child - 6 points

sparkle101 · 17/01/2011 17:29

vnmum is cous cous any good on this plan?

gibbberish · 17/01/2011 18:22

Lee hope ds is ok. Must be upsetting for you all.

db have you measured? I find that the weeks I don't lose lbs I lose inches and that motivates me to keep going.

blondes noooo! What a nightmare! Hope you are rescued soon.

starvin fab result!

Wi for me tomorrow night. A bit nervous but have been good. Still have about 20 of my weekly points! That wasn't deliberate, just haven't felt I needed them.

Am jealous of you lot doing the shred. Would love to try it but have problems with my shoulder so not the best exercise for me.

Have had very busy day at work today. Our nearest competitors have gone into liquidation and all their customers are now coming to us! Not complaining tho - but the vat man won't be either.

Off to drop dd4 at dancing then will do the weekly shop.

vnmum · 17/01/2011 18:24

sparkle Don't know about cous cous. I was thinking of trying mashed carrot or something but ended up having rice as i thought i would be starving later if i didn't have any. I had enough points for it i was just gonna try and save some for snacks tonight.

wizzler · 17/01/2011 19:50

Lee, hope your DS is better soon, also Vnmum, you sound to be having a tough time.. no wonder you have turned to biscuits!

Can't make my wednesday lunch meeting, so am thinking of going to tuesday night instead, to a different class.. is this recommended, or should I just wait another week?

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2011 20:16

Pmsl db - no 2 is the one with most flesh!!!

Wizzler - go to a Tuesday meeting as you will have to pay even if you miss one

Car finally at garage. AA towed it there. Mb picked up 3 tired/Hungary/ kids as AA could only fit 2people in the front of recovery vehicle

I'm so Hungary but going to be good and eat a micro healthy meal as can't be Arsed to cook

Cous cous is same as pasta and rice 150g cooked 4pp
