Thank you for the welcome! I am nervous about my weigh in tomorrow, I have definately snacked more this week than previously, although have stayed within my points according to my tracker. I try to over estimate rather than under so fingers crossed. I am going to unwrap my 30 day shred tomorrow and as soon as ds has a nap give it a go.

wizzler · 16/01/2011 21:42

I agree with HMC, if I didnt go to the meetings I would always put off the dieting for another day. Knowing I have a deadline for each week keeps me honest.

I used to start a new diet every monday, so something needs to change!

Does anyone have an estimate for PPs for a slice of Sainsburys birthday cake, the one that looks like a caterpillar? ( be gentle!)

androbbob · 16/01/2011 21:56

Well I made a betty crocker choc cake a week or so ago as a birthday cake, complete with icing and it worked out at 10PP per slice - quite a generous slice! So I would guess at 8PP.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2011 22:00

37.5lbs - that's fab - thanks androb

Well done lobsters

Has the caterpillar cake got a box - normally says on there per 1/6th - I would have guessimated 6/8pp

wizzler · 16/01/2011 22:47

Thanks... wasn't my caterpillar cake ( would have been more than one slice if it had been!) so didn't see the packaging. I guessed about 7 points. Well that will have to come out of my 49 weekly points. I always fall off the wagon on sundays!
Best of luck for tomorrow Starving

gibbberish · 16/01/2011 22:56

Wow it's been busy on here today!

sweetheart your dd sounds like a little, well, sweetheart! Grin

Well done on the 2lb loss lobsters. Hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

hmc that's good advice re my recipes. I will definitely look at swapping certain things when I can to cut the pps.

Am shocked at how high philadelphia lite is Shock

Been very good today, despite dh trying to sabotage things by eating a family size bag of crisps next to me (my big vice) and asking if I wanted to curry. Grrr.

Went into the office today and got a bit of sage done (yawn). Got loads to do still so will be in all day tomorrow.

Will pop in tomorrow night. Hope you all have a great day!

gibbberish · 16/01/2011 22:58

Oops, I didnt want TO curry (that sounds a bit kinky). I wanted A curry. Obviously!

Must preview. Nite all!

Hello Ladies and of course lucky & ww!

Im hoping for 3rd time lucky with Weightwatchers. 1st time was very successful until I fell pregnant. 2nd time, as a self confessed Comfort Eater with PND the diet never really stood a chance. But now Im in a better place and ttc so hoping that the weight loss will help.

Iv always went to the meetings but have changed which one I go to this time. The lady who takes this one is really encouraging and energetic, she makes you feel as if you'v been friends for years. I guess thats why soo many stay for the meeting.
My mum and I only started back this week so 1st weigh in is Thurs morn. Not really sure how its going to go. Finding the PP very easy, maybe too easy iykwim. I kinda feel that using the additional weekly points is cheating. I can still eat my daily points then comfort eat on the weekly points. I am trying hard not to though.

Re the books being crap. My weigh in lady told us that a lot of places failed to make the dealines given to them for getting in the books. She said that Morrisons was especially bad for it. Apparently they are expecting to issue additional leaflets for said 'slackers' PP in the coming months.

Oh sorry for the novel!
Sho x

Jackaroo · 17/01/2011 06:14

Thanks so much ladies for the info. I am very computer minded, so love the idea of tracking online etc., and will see what the leader is like - sounds as if that might be the prime reason for holding on to the meetings idea.

I had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday - had about 35 points but today's looking better - haven't added it up, but kept busy which is usually the key.

Anyway, I'll see how I get on, and might join you if that's OK? If I stick to it for more than 3 days :-)

LuckyLight · 17/01/2011 07:03

HI Sho and welcome. Hope you find the thread useful, and good luck with it!

Good luck to all with WI's today??

starvingmarvin I will be starting the Shred dvd today too! I watched it last night, briefly, to give me an idea. Seemed OK, I really like the idea of it being just 20 mins, it's so 'do-able'...!

Will report in later post Shred (tonight).

StarvingMarvin · 17/01/2011 07:44

Morning all, thanks for the words of encouragement! It really does help to come on here and see thatwe're all in it together!
luckylight I'm definately going to shred today, DH's work has been rained off so he can take the baby while I do it after the school run. I will weigh in first then come back and report!

Hope everyone has a good day today!

LeeWT · 17/01/2011 08:26

Welcome jackaroo and starving Marvin!

The lovely ladies here advised me to have mini goals and I hve to say it's such a good idea.. Mine were to regain my silver 7 Which I lost over Xmas and break through to 15 stone .. I did both last week. My new mini goal is to reach a stone.. It really helped having an achievable goal that would keep me going in the short term.

Here's a question to everyone.. Does anyone believe they were never meant to be thin? I find myself seeing my goal as 13 or 14 stone which would leave me a comfortable size 16 - it's like I don believe I'm capable of anymore but why not?!

Anyway, tough night last night, ds taken back into hospital with feeding problems (he's been in 17 nights over the past month with pneumonia and bronchiolitis).. So I am going to be strong and pack a low fat lunch to take with me and not let all the crap life throws at me be an excuse to comfort eat.. Off back to the hosp now.. Check in later..

TartyMcFarty · 17/01/2011 08:47

Well done lobsters, that's a good loss!

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 09:13

sweetheart · 17/01/2011 09:34

Morning all - what a beautiful Monday morning - NOT! I don't know about you lot but it's like a monsoon where I am today - absolutly pouring with rain - bleugh!

lee - so sorry to hear your baby is back in hospital! Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and strength for you, lots of love xxx

Starvin - your dh's work has been rained off !!!!! sounds like an ace job considering the amount of rain we Brit's get - I want his job!

hello to Shannon and willaby and anyone else I may have missed

Gibberish - if you find philli light low in points they do an extra light Wink

lobsters - well done on the 2Ibs. That's my mini goal for this week!

Andro - thanks for the stats - what an impressive score!

Got my 1st physio appointment today. I'm hoping she'll say I can do some gentle exercise between now and my op, maybe some light cycling or something. I can't be sitting on my arse for the next 2 months doing nothing!

I have been absolutly starving all weekend! I even wanted to pick last night after a huge roast dinner and tons of fruit salad! I'm always much better when I'm at work so have positive thoughts for a good day today.

GOOD LUCK to everyone xxx

sweetheart · 17/01/2011 09:35

Oh no DB!!! Do you know why you didn't lose? Can you rectify it this week?

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 09:42

no sweetheart. honestly don't know, the old system worked really well for me. i have weighed and tracked everything. used about 5 weekly points. am v. sad. hopefully i just need to do a big poo! i am going to stick at it but v. demoralised atm

going · 17/01/2011 09:44

Hello all,

Stuck tot he diet really well for the first five days of last week then went a bit overboard with food the last couple - am 8 pp over my weekly allowence. Been decorating and had to pull up some floor boards, was a really tough job as badly done in the first place. Finally finished at 3.40 yesterday, got to homebase with the measurements of the wood sizes I needed and the wood cutting was closed!!!! A few tears later and someone agreed to do it, got home and the wood is too wide - grrrrr. DP doesn't get home from work until Homebase closes and refused to leave early so luckily have found a friend to take me in a couple of hours. Hopefully I will have that sorted and can finish the painting tonight in prepation of the carpet comming on Wednesday.

going · 17/01/2011 09:47

DuplicitousBitch - a firend didn't lose for about 3 weeks when she started the new pp, after that she lost consistanly just took a while to get going.

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 09:49

really going? tis v. strange. it is esp. grating as i promised myself to stay off alchol until i lost 1/2 stone.

good luck with teh floor boards!

StarvingMarvin · 17/01/2011 09:50

Hey girls, good news from me 4lb off this week! That means I have lost 10lbs, so pleased, next goal is the 10% so 11st6lbs.

Lee- Sorry to hear about your little one, good on you for being able to think ahead a pack a lunch with everything else you have going on! Don't me too hard on yourself though!

Sweetheart- DH works outside, rain or shine usually but the work that was booked in for today can't be done safely when the rain is this heavy, he's annoyed as it will have knock on effect on everything else. I have got him hanging the washing on the airer to stop him from pacing the house!

DB- Don't be too disheartened, at least you didn't put on! You'll probably have extra big loss next week.

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 09:53

starvin - that is fabulous, you must be delighted.

StarvingMarvin · 17/01/2011 10:05

Thank you DB, I am. I know there will be weeks where I won't lose but I needed a strong start so I am motivated to carry on. How long have you been doing it and what have you lost so far?

DuplicitousBitch · 17/01/2011 10:13

this is my first week! everyone else loses loads on their first week.

TartyMcFarty · 17/01/2011 10:18

DB, as Marvin says, you may find you lose more than expected next week. On the old plan, that's what sometimes happened to me. The tough thing was to keep the motivation going.
