Having scanned recent posts, I've learnt not to post here when hungry! Littlefish, your Saturday night dinner menu in particular sounds delectable!

Thanks Tarty and Wizzler for your kind words [blushes daintily), and congrats to Wynken and Blondes for great losses

I know exactly what you mean LeeWT about protein based cooked breakfasts - I find they satisfy me much longer than when I have yoghurt, muesli and fruit

Baking some chocolate shortbread atm for dcs and dh (no reason why they should do without) and the aroma from the oven is pure torture!

hmc · 14/01/2011 17:02

Incidentally - have recently worked out that a packet of quavers is just 2 pp!

NormaSknockers · 14/01/2011 17:05

Evening all,

Bit quieter in here today, where are you all? Grin

Blondes well done the loss, you sound like you're well and truly into the swing of it now, are you feeling happier with it now?

bandgeek I tend to agree with sweetheart, if you have the munchies and there's something you fancy, point it and have it. That's what the extra weekly points are for, if you don't allow yourself that you'll end up wanting it more and then having a binge and feeling guilty - well at least I find that's what happens to me if I don't allow myself that treat. Like today for example, had an iced ring doughnut, it was bloody yum and now I feel much better for having had a treat :)

Food's been ok today;

Eggy bread and bacon medallions - 4 PPs

WW crisps - 2 PPs
Iced ring doughnut - 7 PPs

Dinner will be tomato and basil chicken breast with new potatos and roasted veggies which will be 7 PPs leaving me 6 for a supper time treat Grin

How's everyone set for the weekend? Have anything planned?

OP posts:
hmc · 14/01/2011 17:11

We are going to the footie on Saturday to see Southampton play (dc's love it too) - and will have lunch out before hand so will need to use some weekly pps for that. What about you Norma - what are you up to at the weekend?

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2011 17:28

sweetheart glad your diet was spared lunch, tho the chicken and salad was a safe option and can have that when meeting is re arranged - fab news about your knee op as well :)
lucky how much are jelly beans - i LOVE those
leewt what is the essentials pack?
tarty i used about 29+ not totally sure as tried to ppmy curry that wasnt in the eating out guide
sparkle the 130g of pasta is how many pp and is it cooked, i have been having 60g of dry for 6pp and its a tiny bowl :(
hmc blondes is a crisp fiend and most are either 2 pp skips/quavers/wosits/french fries and 33 monster munch
norma i love the choc options and white choc is my fav -

yes im still trying to get into the swing of things, still confuse my blonde brain but getting there,im suprised that i lost 3 lbs esp as had sb's,curry and tons of fruit - the fruit still puzzles me, must eat 6/8pp worth a day of it

did boxercise this am at gym, have done it a few times but cant always make the class times :( - had oats so simple and skim 5pp for breakie and chicken and salad for lunch 4pp and having pizza for tea at a whopping 22 pp Shock but only using 2 of my weekly 49pp :)

i never count my exercise points,so hopefully thats gives me some leeway?

NormaSknockers · 14/01/2011 17:34

I'm not a lover of chocolate options, they just all taste like sweetners to me Blush I love a good cup of Cadburys me Grin None this week though - oh how I miss it!

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 14/01/2011 17:36

The fruit has all been calculated for you Blondes that's why we have 29 points a day as opposed to more if that makes sense.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2011 17:39

ie we would be on a minimum of 40pp if we included fruit, hence why most foods doubling seems to work as eat 3 meals and then fruit :)

NormaSknockers · 14/01/2011 18:02

Exactly :)

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2011 18:32

by jove,ive got it :)

vnmum · 14/01/2011 18:55

evening all,

I haven't done my shred today and have had a bit of a binge day. i had a cookie with my cuppa this morning, nicked a few of the kids mini eggs (had 8 for 4pp, hardly seemed worth it once i pointed after i ate them mind), then had a chicken chow mein takeaway and polished off some of kids chips [embarrassed]. But i have pointed everything and i still have 21 weekly points left for the rest of the week.

I feel stuffed and bloated after tea but have this innate urge to start exercising now to burn it off as i feel it was bad to eat. daft i know as i'm within points.

Well done on the losses blondes and wynken

My plans for the weekend are a party with DS tomorrow morning at a soft play centre then for the rest of the weekend probably sorting and packing the house again

hmc · 14/01/2011 18:59

Hey vnmum - I'll join you! - have demolished 30 of my 49 weekly pp already, and my WW week runs Thursday morning to Wednesday evening!!! It is time of the month and I have been correspondingly ravenous yesterday and today

hmc · 14/01/2011 19:00

'ravenous' was meant to be in italics. Hunger pangs are blowing my concentration!

sparkle101 · 14/01/2011 19:39

blondes it was 130g cooked so 65g fresh uncooked for 4pp so it worked out from the packet when I worked it out, but double check just to be sure! Getting used to this!

TartyMcFarty · 14/01/2011 19:43

Just weighed in early so I can enjoy my Friday evening with a chicken dinner and a glass of wine. I've lost 4lbs! Grin Grin Grin That said, my last weigh in was the morning after a really binge-y day, topped off with a ma-hoo-sive curry so some of it might have been 'pretend' weight in the first place.

I don't count my exercise points either blondes - perhaps that's helped.

Can anyone please tell me what the new cookbooks are like please? The only ones they had in Waterstones were based on the old points system. Annoying!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2011 19:48

sparkles So pasta weight doubles when cooked?

Though shopping guide says that 10g = 1pp so 60g raw /130 cooked = 6pp

How did you make it 4 PP?

Hubby stole acquired 1/4 of my pizza but he saved me 5pp and now within my daily PP

Problem is that I already typed in calculator and it has taken 2 bonus PP

Moral of story never put in PP in calculator till after you have eaten the food

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2011 19:50

tarty fab loss - well done :)

gibbberish · 14/01/2011 19:50

Well done wynken and blondesz excellent results!

hmc sorry I didn't manage to post the recipe today. Too hard to do on my phone and the computer at home blew up so have to wait until I get in the office. Got to go in tomorrow to do the vat return (own business) so will do it then.

Been good today and did half hour of aerobics. Dd2 says I look slimmer already but I think she is just being kind lol.

She took photos of me today - front view and left and right sides. Are truly hideous but will keep looking at them to spur me on!

Hungry tonight hmmmm.

gibbberish · 14/01/2011 19:52

Oooo that's fantastic tarty!

sparkle101 · 14/01/2011 20:35

blondes weighed it before and after and it seemed to double in weight (how very rock and roll of me!), think I remember it doubles from last time I did weight watchers. Also looked at the guide you get with starter kit and it says white cooked pasta 150g portion 4 points. I hope it is right!

gibbberish · 14/01/2011 20:58

Just totted up my pps and am 5 over again!! This is what comes from not having access to a computer at home.

No treats for me tonight : (

How do you all split your pp allowance between brekkie, lunch and dinner?

androbbob · 14/01/2011 21:54

Evening all! Back from the gym all refreshed and ready for a busy weekend.

vnmum - softplay hey? Have you been to Happy Hippos? We have been once and enjoyed it - early morning definately better though! I hope you resisted the urge to exercise off those PP!!

norma - we have two people who (if behave themselves) will be at the 7lbs next week - hey know who they are!! I am liking the sound of cooked breakfasts - may start doing that next week!

Just sat looking through my WW folder at the recipes to see any nice ones to try - and found mincemeat pinwheels - using filo and I have half a jar of mincemeat left from christmas. Work out a 1PP each - so will make them tomorrow! Also got a recipe for a cake - need to PP it first - thinking of making it as mini muffins and freezing them! Will report back!

giberish - Surely the 5 over your daily will come out of your weekly 49, and if you average that out over the week that is 7 per day, so you can maybe have a treat tomorrow!

I usually aim for 7 for breakfast, 8 for lunch and 10 for tea. That leaves 4 for a snack other than fruit. I find the best way is to either have a low pointed breakfast or a low pointed lunch, so I can have a larger tea. I tend to have fruit as a snack while at work and save my treat for home. Although this week I am not having treats from my daily allowance in a bid to eat proper food! I am also stretching my budget but bulking up on low and zero point food with each meal. Seems to be working so far!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2011 21:54

gibberish I tend to do breakie 5 and then lunch and dinner 12 each as have 29

Or 10each and have 4 for a treat/snack :)

NormaSknockers · 14/01/2011 22:10

I usually aim for 4-6 for breakfast, 6-8 for lunch & then 7-12 for dinner so that I can use the rest for snacks/pudding Grin

OP posts:
gibbberish · 14/01/2011 22:14

Thanks for that. I seem to be overdoing lunch and breakfast so by the time I get to dinner there isn't enough left

Will keep a closer eye on what I am eating early on.

androb I was trying this week to not use the weekly points so I could get to grips with portion sizes on the 29pps iyswim. That was the idea anyway lol.

I usually cook dinner from scratch and am finding the recipes are high in pps. Really need to work out thee recipe pp values before I eat!
