Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

Hello to everyone!

Well eventful day! Today was "business lunch" day as it turns out I needent of worried as my boss crashed his car on route to the restaurant so we had to cancel!

It also looks like my op will happen in March which means I have time to loose my weight before I have the op - that means all I need to worry about is maintaining whilst I'm convalescing which I feel happier about and it also means I can still have a birthday party - yippee.

I have to admit I posted on the "I love spreadsheets" thread. It's a big part of my job and I use them alot in my personal life too - I've also got the Christmas ss! Blush

great losses for hmc and vnmum and a big hello to bandgeek

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 13/01/2011 16:39

Some great losses here and comiseration on gains, but I think annoyingly they are part of out journeys. When you get back on track after one, it is confidence boosting, about taking back control.

Lost 1.5lbs today at WI and seem to not be having the sts/gain week I had with SW so am delighted. Went swimming with SW friend straight to a hotel she has joined and treated ourselves to time in the jacuzzi and steam room. Am finding exercise definitely boosting my losses but am flipping knackered!

going · 13/01/2011 18:47

Well done on all the loses.

sweetheart you've got good motivation to lose your weight if you do it before the op.

hmc The meeting is at 6.30 and it's just not possible for DH as she would have to leave work at 4.45 and he normally leaves around 7.15. I do feel like I will do fine doing it online. I have joined WW so many times and everytime I go there are always familiar faces, the same group of women who lose then gain time and time again which really demotivates me!

I was going to go to a pilates calss today but instead decided to do some painting, three hours of painting and my hallway looks so much better!

wizzler · 13/01/2011 18:53

HMC congrats on your weight loss... 20lbs in 9 weeks is fantastic. Speaking as a newbie , I am in awe!

TartyMcFarty · 13/01/2011 19:41

Well done Wynken

vnmum · 13/01/2011 20:16

Hi all, I'm back again. I didn't have time to run so just did the shred.

Well done on all the losses and comiserations for the gains, but you will get it off again.

This is a brief post for me as i'm going to have my WI treat and spend some time with DH

NormaSknockers · 13/01/2011 20:18

Had a great day today PP wise - I still have two left! I have used some of my weekly ones on a treat though. The stir fry for tea was on the edge of turning but the frying pan and soy sauce sorted it out and it was filling as I found some broccoli that needed eating up as well! Roll on tomorrow - the challenge then is to avoid the toast run. I usually have two slices of buttered toast when the lads have a bacon butty. It s dripping in butter so I was considering asking for dry toast and taking a small portion of WW jam with me to perk it up and save about 3PP. I have some soup for lunch which was 2PP a serving so should even itself out.

I habe maxed out on fruit today - three satsumas and then strawberries and sugar free jelly! Yum and all zero points!

furball - I like the idea of using cauli rather than rice - will try that this week!

norma - I also usually have a choc options at 9pm so in support of you I will not have them this week - that whole 1PP over a week may make the difference! Grin. I was thinking of you when doing my ironing earlier - I did three shirts then ran upstairs with them, then did another three, etc - like you dancing around while making your breakfast the other day!!

lucky - I will not be changing my name to spreadsheetgeek no!

Well done on all the losses this week - so far we are up to 31.5 lbs and there are few weekend WI's to include - excellent work!

DH is off this weekend which can cause problems with food as we tend to pick a bit, but he is off to footie match on sunday lunchtime, so can manage a light lunch then. Was talk of going out for tea on Saturday but DD now has a party to go to so I am not mentioning it inthe hope he will foret! She is not back until 6pm so that is too late for DS (3) to go out. He needs hourly feeding - growing lad I think!

sweetheart · 13/01/2011 21:13

andro - just out of interest what day of the week does your ww ss start? There's been a bit of talk about the first people to reach certain goals but just wondered what happened regarding everyone's different weight days.

You could try meal planning for while dh is away so that you don't stray into "uncharted waters" so to speak! When I felt a spiral coming on the other day I was straight on here to be kicked into shape Grin

androbbob · 13/01/2011 21:51

sweetheart - my ss starts on a monday and I usually report the weekly losses on a Sunday or Monday evening. So if someone reaches their goal on a Monday and someone else does on a Friday - it is all in the same week! We started on 28th Dec so are on week 3 now for us oldies but newer people are on week 1 or 2. Tis all relative really I suppose as long as we lose!!

Bedtime now for me - I think I am suffering from the heavy gym session last night! Not quite aching but feel very sleepy!

gibbberish · 13/01/2011 21:56

Oooooo well done on all the losses - so impressive!

Hello to bandgeek Smile

sweetheart I too am a spreadsheet lover! Even have a mug advertising the fact lol.

hmc will post the recipe tomorrow if that's ok. It really is gorgeous. I am completely dependant on my slow cooker!

Went six pps over my daily's oops. So that's me used some of my weeklys. Ah well, suppose that is what they are there for!

LuckyLight · 13/01/2011 21:59

Bit naughty today, was STARVING when I got in from work and knew I wouldn't be eating til 8pm. 2 packets of sunbites and half a tube of jellybeans later.....Hmm.

Sorry, just reading to catch up, but not really got anything exciting to say.

Littlefish · 13/01/2011 22:04

I've had a very good day today too, and have 1 point left.

I've got to be really good for the next few days because I've got people coming for dinner on Saturday night, and am going out to lunch on Sunday.

Having learned from my New Year's Eve disaster menu, I'm going to serve courgette soup to start with (I can avoid the fresh bread), slow cooked lamb with winter veg for the main, and chocolate fondants for pudding. It should be delicious, and relatively easy to point up (apart from the pudding!)

Lucky - can I ask you a knee question please. If it turns out that I have a torn meniscus, what is the treatment? Is it surgery? I'm in pain/discomfort most of the time. It's been hurting for a year and I really want to get it sorted now.

TartyMcFarty · 14/01/2011 08:09

Oh I soooo wish our Christmas cake could be magically eaten up. Problem is, there are another two smaller ones in the cupboard - my mum makes them for peopls and these two didn't turn up for theirs!! Don't think it's fair to expect her to give them away so will just have to suck it up for a while ... there aren't any biscuits or chocs in the house so it's hard to resist snacking on it.

Yes we do live with my mum at the moment btw. Complicated arrangement with a view to doing some building. All quite stressful Confused

LeeWT · 14/01/2011 10:27

Hi all..

Well I didn't eat 7 of my pps yday to make up for having that chipper on the way home from WI!

I'm loving having cooked breakfasts every morning.. Poached egg, 2 tesco lf bacon medallions, mushrooms and piece of toast w lf spread = 7pp mmm mmm

my WW essentials pack arrived this morning and I must say I feel like I've been swizzed! They're crap and basic!

But feel free to ask me the points for stuff and I'll check!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/01/2011 12:18

just out for lunch so only a quickie reply , but will read and post congrats later :)

i lost 3 lbs - thus making 6 lbs loss in 2 weeks :)

'blondes does happy dance'

sweetheart · 14/01/2011 12:30

woohoo blondes - thats a great 2 week result

TartyMcFarty · 14/01/2011 12:58

Wow, well done blondes. Are you using the 49 extras?

androbbob · 14/01/2011 13:01

Well Done Blondes - fab result!

Having a great day here too (well as much as you can while at work!!) Low point food today - had a small yog for breakfast (2PP) then the usual toast - but I ordered dry toast (5PP as it is thick) and put my blackcurrant WW jam on it (1PP) and then I have had soup (2PP), quavers (2PP) and a small youghurt (2PP) and strawberries and sugar free jelly (0PP) - so that adds up to 14PP so far. So I have got 15PP left for tea and this evening. Happy days!

Back later!!

bandgeek · 14/01/2011 14:03

Hi all

Some great loses here, well done all! I found it easy yesterday. I made a vegetable curry for my tea which was delicious, and ended up 2 pp below 30, which is my limit. I've not touched any of my 4pps yet but I think that might change today as I'm struggling a bit more. I seem to hve the munchies so am trying to fill up on fruit.

On the plus side I did my first shred today and am going for a long walk later. Don't know if I'm imagining things or not but my jeans feel slightly looser already......

sparkle101 · 14/01/2011 14:11

Hi ladiea

Well done blondes

I have just "made" a meal from the daily mail points pullout - 130g wholewheat pasta with 1 tbs of pesto and 1tb of parmesan. It was soooooo nice! 8 points. Could have filled it out with other stuff (salad, etc) but nothing left in the house! It was great! Considering I normally do sandwich with crisps I feel so much fuller!

Making the mistake of watching the service who are at an indian restaurant. It looks lovely!

sparkle101 · 14/01/2011 14:11

*ladies obv!

sweetheart · 14/01/2011 14:36

bandgeek - I find sometimes when I'm having munchie days it's best to just give into the cravings and have something carb ish rather than trying to satisfy myself with endless pieces of fuit. If I'm really in that kind of mood I know that it doesn't matter how many bits of fruit I eat I'll still be hungry so in the long run it's better to eat something that will satisfy me.
