Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

Thank you for your kind welcome ladies. I must be determined to lose weight this time as I am eating fruit!

Was off to do aqua aerobics today but my friend has cancelled. Was looking forward to it but far too scared to do it on my own! Shall do it next week and plan to go for a walk instead.

Have a couple of questions if poss:

Can I really eat 35 points (and 49 points) and still lose weight? It seems loads of food!

I don't suppose if any of you have the eating out guide harvester list the points in their cubed potatoes?

Thank you ladies.

I thought that re the amount of food you are allowed sparkles. My class leader last night said that often people find that they feel they eat more on the plan than they would normally. That's because they are eating more filling foods but because the food choices are 'wiser' they do lose weight. You don't have to have all or any of the 49 weekly points. They can be used as a safety net on the weeks you maybe have meals out or parties etc.

That's what I gather anyway. Was talking to a lovely lady there who had lost over 4stone and said she eat loads (good choices), is never hungry and has lost every single week since she started. So it must work!

gibbberish · 12/01/2011 15:33

sparkle, not sparkles. Sorry!!

LeeWT · 12/01/2011 15:39

sparkle I reckon I've lost 2 or 3 pounds this week (I hope) but I know if i had not had two takeaways and a bottle of wine at the weekend, I'd have lost far more..

I think it's just a good way of having a safety net and allowing for the blowouts most people inevitably have..

I'm thinking I'll go for slow and steady with the blowouts because then I'm likely to stay on plan for longer and maintain it as a lifestyle rather than a diet..

Oh and my baby is home and gorgeous!!! Thanks for all the good wishes everyone! X

Littlefish · 12/01/2011 16:18

Sparkle - I'm on more points than you (just), and have lost weight fairly consistently for the last 14 weeks. I've now lost a toal of 27.5lbs, so in answer to your question:

Yes, you really can eat all those points and still lose weight. Sometimes I eat all my weekly points, sometimes I just eat a few.

sparkle101 · 12/01/2011 16:26

Thanks everyone

littlefish does your amount of weight loss vary dependent on whether you eat the weeks points or not? (Last question I promise- for the moment)!

leewt takeaways and still losing weight, this is my kind of diet!

gibberish call me what you want!

Littlefish · 12/01/2011 16:46

I knew you were going to ask me that! I honestly can't remember. Grin

I try and use my daily points for "good and filling foods", and use my weekly points for any treats. That way, I know that the majority of what I'm eating is healthy. If you try and use your daily points for treats as well, you risk compromising a healthy intake of food, for the sake of crap!

Lorelai · 12/01/2011 16:50

Great news Lee!

LuckyLight · 12/01/2011 16:51

Lucky reaches for another apple.....

Littlefish · 12/01/2011 16:53

Littlefish reaches for another banana.....

I've had enough of apples today!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 12/01/2011 18:00

Great to see the thread going from strength to strength and some good losses. Andro that is very kind of you to trawl the thread for the targets.

I reckon by the time spring comes round we should be able to strip off the layers and emerge significantly slimmer, which will be lovely. Am trying to be generally more active and my house is more organised as a result. Think there was too much sitting on backside in 2010 so will try harder this year.

Are you all doing better than me on cooking new recipes?

WingsTHEangel · 12/01/2011 18:14

Had my shopping delivered today so have eaten fruit I like. I have never been a big fruit eater.

Today
Breakfast Oats so simple and tsp golden syrup

Lunch Wafer thin ham 2 slices of bread lettuce and tomato pkt of wotsits

Tea Jacket potato with prawns mixed with Asda extra light mayo and tomato ketchup

Inbetween Grapes, satsuma, banana

wizzler · 12/01/2011 18:43

Just had my weigh in for week 1. 3.5lbs. Hurrah!

wizzler · 12/01/2011 18:49

Well done wizzler! That's brilliant!

I had pork in braised red cabbage and apple. Absolutely gorgeous and 9 points per (very generous) portion.

Made it in the slow cooker. If anyone wants the recipe let me know.

froot: Lose 6 lb by 20 Feb then 4 lb by 20 March then NOT put 6 lb on during my holiday (i.e. not drink too much!)

Put 3.5 on over Christmas....not too bad but had already put on 2 during December.

Anyone else surprised none of them had a heart attack during the first week of Davinas biggest loser?

Have started shred....OMG I hurt for days after the frist time (am trying to it 3 times a week) but miraculously did not hurt at all today after doing it yesterday so that must be good surely?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2011 19:59

Welcome sparkle and well done Lorelai and whizzler

im still in confusion about the jacket potato

are they really 8pp?

that with 1/2tin of tuna and mayo light was 11pp :(

Littlefish · 12/01/2011 20:02

Yes they really are 8pp. Did you weigh yours to make sure you were getting every gram of that 8pp?

Wizzler - how much did you lose? Your last post says 1.3.5lbs.

WingsTHEangel · 12/01/2011 20:15

I put my jacket pot down as 9 because I couldn't find the raw weight value so tea was
Potato 9
Prawns are 2pp per 100g.
Asda extra light mayo 3pp
tom sauce 1pp (mixed together make a lovely sauce)

Total 15pp

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2011 20:23

omg am i under pp my mayo?? Shock

i think 15pp for a meal is dreadful and means i literally eat salad the next :(

think she meant 1 weigh in lost 3.5lbs

LuckyLight · 12/01/2011 20:26

I'm off to Prezzo Friday night, not in the eat out guide. I reckon I will have, using weekly pts,

Half a deep fried mozzarella (will share with friend).

Chicken in creamy mushroom sauce with fries.

No pudding. Although, the man I beat in the weigh off at work in Dec is paying for my meal so maybe I should have 3 courses as I'm sharing a starter!!!

Any rough ideas for pts values on that lot anyone?

I know I could have a salad, but tbh, I went to Pizza Express so much last year and just had a salad, I don't really fancy it again.

Also, DH and I thought we might take the girls to McDonalds next weekend after a trip to the cinema, so we looked it up in eat out guide, and I was very pleasantly suprised!

A big mac is only 13 pps
Med fries is 9 pps

Not bad at all for treat day hey??

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 12/01/2011 20:28

Well done Wizzler, that is great.

A 225g raw weight potato baked is 5pp. A 400g raw weight one would be 8pp but that is a pretty big potato. The value given in the book is the cooked weight. If you are doing them at home chuck it on the scales then 1pp per 50g raw weight.

WingsTHEangel · 12/01/2011 20:36

I could only find the cooked weight.
I have lots of points cos I'm a bloater so 15pp for a meal is ok for me.

WingsTHEangel · 12/01/2011 20:39

I have over estimated my potato by 4pp Blush

LuckyLight · 12/01/2011 20:41

wings better to overestimate than underestimate surely?!

androbbob should we add our weigh in day to the list of goals??
